you said they make fun of your body
humiliation in your eyes when you told me
well i'm going to find them don't you worry

    1,057 words
    Mashyuu

Kanix dusted herself off and lifted her gaze from her dirtied, blue dress to the blue eyes of her lover, smiling sweetly at the Sabertooth magus. She had a slightly saddened look to her eyes, but it was nearly unnoticeable unless someone was staring into her eyes. Heaving a sigh, the woman straightened her posture and glanced away from Mashyuu, her gaze running over the village. They stood near the stage where Beanstalk and the Peapods had been, telling supposedly innocent stories to the villagers of Hunting Village. Tears welled up in her eyes, one side tinted red with blood from the injury she had received from Sol many years ago now. Hazy, blue orbs fell to the corpses that littered the ground in front of them, hundreds of her people dropped dead to the ground. Finally, the tears trickled down her cheeks when her sight landed upon a small child with reddish-brown hair and deeply tanned skin.

She let out a horrid cry of pain as she bounced on her toes momentarily, then rushed off to the little child lying lifeless in the myriad of bodies. Kanix fell to her knees and lifted the young boy up into her arms, cradling his body like she would have if he was her own child. Droplets of red splattered onto the boy’s chest, Kanix’s bottom lip quivering as she rocked back and forth, cold and stiff body in her arms. “Ahanu. . .” she whispered out his name in a hoarse voice, reaching forward to stroke the paled cheek of the Nirvit child. Hugging the boy close to her, the woman let her eyes move away from the dead child and to the lifeless bodies all around her. Anger welled up inside of her, mixed in with the pain she felt of her people having been mercilessly slaughtered in front of her eyes. Gritting her teeth, the woman ripped out her right eye, tossing the eyeball away and reducing her sight to complete darkness.

Arms locked around the child’s body, Kanix threw her head back and wailed loudly to the sky above her, where clouds accumulated over the village. For each teardrop that fell onto the skin of the boy, the clouds grew darker until they were near black in hue: a storm brewing. Thunder cracked overhead, lightning peeling across the sky as she dropped her head back down to her adoptive younger brother. Pulling the body upward, she nuzzled his face into her neck and held him there, taking out the water from her pouch in vain. The water turned into a small stream in the palm of her hand, swirling around in a circle as it glowed a brighter hue of blue. Carefully, Kanix placed the healing water against the chest of Ahanu, wishing with all of her might that he would awaken like he was only in slumber. When nothing happened, the blind woman pressed harder into his chest, perhaps hoping that the harder she willed her water, it would bring him back from the dead.

A calloused hand gripped her wrist tightly and yanked her up, causing her to drop the water that was in her hand, along with the boy. Fearful of losing Ahanu eternally, the magus cried out and reached for the child’s falling body like motion was slowing down. She was pulled into the chest of her lover, gripped by muscular arms tightly so she was not able to escape the man’s grasp. Kanix writhed weakly in his arms and beat her fists harshly against his chest until she planted her face into the fabric of his shirt and simply cried. Her legs could no longer hold her up, Mashyuu’s arms the only support that she had while her heart felt like it was breaking in pieces. “They took them away from me; they murdered them with no sense of remorse, didn’t think of the loved ones they had!” she sobbed into him. “These were my people, they were my family. They took me in when I needed help the most and now they’re all dead!

Another crack of thunder resounded overhead and rain poured down on the couple in a torrent, muddying the ground and soaking the dead bodies around them. She turned her head slightly so that her ear rested against Mashyuu’s chest, listening to the heavy beat of his heart as it comforted her. Her dirtied face was streaked with lines of tears and blood, conjoining at her chin where they dripped off in watery droplets. Never in her lifetime had she ever felt a pain so immense as the dull aching of her heart after she had seen her fallen loved ones. It hurt her head so badly that she simply wanted to close her blind eye and hope that she didn’t have to wake up to the world again. Each and every one of the lifeless bodies on the ground had meant something to her, had done something for her that made her who she was. Not once in her time of living in the tribe did she ever wish ill upon anyone, even the people who had bullied her for her strangeness.

Sniffling, Kanix pulled away from Mashyuu, her sightless eye gazing up at him as she bit her lip and let her emotions calm down. It was time that he learned who she was, not just some blind woman he had fallen in love with and had a fear of men’s touch. She had more to herself that he would have ever thought and if he thought of her any differently, then they were not meant to be. Feeling his arms slack around her, Kanix removed herself from his grasp and turned back to the massacre that rest around them. The rainstorm had slowed down slightly, a soft sprinkle compared to the downpour it had been only moments prior to her calming down. Breathing in deeply, she took his hand into hers and pulled him away from the bodies as villagers came rushing out of their homes to see what the cause of the storm was. “Mashyuu, do you know who I am?” she inquired like she had lost her sense of self and was hoping that he would know, but in reality, she was asking him if he was aware of her past.
    notes
I've decided that Mashyuu will be helping me with the exam; of course, I'll still need to get to 6,000 words on my own. The plotline of the exam starts out in a flashback, where Kanix overcomes her hatred for men and explains her past to Mashyuu, developing their relationship more. All of this leads up to present day, where Kanix is standing in front of a mirror, finishing getting ready for her wedding before walking down the aisle to say her vows. Enjoy.

    Job Details:

Coming up out of the tower that was hidden deep below the village Mashyuu and Kanix were assaulted with the sight of dead bodies. It was Mashyuu's hope that other villagers would have found the bodies and at least moved them but instead the dead remained laying about on the ground. Mashyuu frowned sadly but stayed strong for his love. She rushed to a small boy and held him close, calling out a name he had never heard before but there was still so much about his wife that he didn't know. Anger surged through her as she ripped out her magical eye Mashyuu gave her on their first actual date and tossed it. He doubted that she new she was tossing it towards him but he extended his arm and snatched the eye, placing it in his pocket for safe keeping as it started to rain.

Mashyuu gave Kanix a few moments to grieve as he drew upon her then reached down and hoisted her up, his massive arms hugging her close to his body so that she could feel something comforting and familiar to her. The Gods knew he could have used something like that when he was growing up but sadly it never came to pass. The Wizard smiled softly and kissed the crown of her head until she looked up at him with a hurt look. He didn't mind her hitting him, whatever she needed to cope with the pain. When she was ready Mashyuu let her go and followed behind her for a few moments. He didn't say a word until she turned around and grabbed his hand and asked if he knew who she was. He searched his heart for a moment then swallowed the dry lumps in his throat while the two moved away from the dead bodies. He could have buried them all very swiftly but it wouldn't have been very elegant.

"Lets say I don't. Tell me who is Kanix Laspor before she takes my name and makes me the luckiest man on earth." Mashyuu said and and moved under an awning at a near by shop to protect the pair from the water coming down from the sky.

you said they make fun of your body
humiliation in your eyes when you told me
well i'm going to find them don't you worry

    1,215 words
    Mashyuu

My name is not Kanix Laspor,” she spoke once Mashyuu had confirmed to her that he did not know her past as she had first thought. “Twenty-nine years ago, I was taken from my home; a home and family that I never was able to know because whoever took me from it never gave me back.” She paused in her story and closed her eyes for a moment, trying to recall all of those memories of her past even though she never wanted to remember it again. “The people who took me away were both men, and they brought me to an abandoned house, where I was kept there for months, maybe even years, I don’t know. After all that time had passed, another man came to the abandoned house; I don’t know what was said or what was done, all I remember was being given to him. I remember the sound of chains around my feet as they dragged along the ground with each step and shackles around my wrists, rubbing them raw. He threw me into the back of a vehicle and it felt like days had passed by before I was even able to see the daylight again. . . yes, twenty-nine years ago, I was not blind.

Kanix fell silent and sat down in one of the chairs beneath the awning, hand still grasping Mashyuu’s hand in what appeared to be desperation. “We stood in front of a large, rundown building and when we entered the building, beds were all around us, some occupied by emaciated girls. . . or dead ones. . . empty or the curtains were closed. The man brought me to one of the empty beds, grabbed me by my hair and threw me onto the bed, strapping me down with my arms above my head and my legs apart. . .” Again, the woman fell silent and pulled her hand from Mashyuu’s, clasping them together in her lap and biting her lip from the memories. “I grew a hatred for men from that point on, but I was too scared to ever fight back for myself or the other girls who had been sold into slavery. Everyday, I watched as they brought in more girls and threw out the bodies of women and little girls who had died during the night. They fed us, but it was very little food and every hour or so, the men of the building would have their way with a girl of their choice.

For a moment, Kanix had sounded like she had gone insane, giggling at the memories like all of it had been some kind of joke to her. “Nine times out of ten, I was the girl they chose to rape and abuse for the hell of it, and I just took it because I knew they were too strong for me. Nine years. . . nine years I lived in that hellhole of a building because they kept me too drugged up to retaliate or even think for myself. I was the favored one, I did the best in the auctions and shows they held to rent us out and earn a little cash for selling our bodies. They were so proud of me. . . proud of me like a father would be of his son. . . my reward for doing so well in those auctions and shows? Food. When I learned what the reward was for doing so well, I decided I would try my hardest to make them proud of me more. The more food I was given, the more strength I would get back and then. . . then I could exact my revenge on the men.

Gritting her teeth together, the woman curled her fingers into one another and dug her nails into the palms of her hands. “I was constantly sold to men all of the time; I had a new ‘master’ every few weeks or so and each one was different from the next,” she told him. She giggled again and wiped away a few tears that had managed to trickle down her cheeks without her knowing they existed. “I remember my last slavery auction like it was just yesterday. . . I was standing on the pedestal in the nude because I had no clothing that fit me and the men didn’t care. All of the voices were a blur, but I recognize a sound that meant I had been bought and one of the slave masters had brought me down from the pedestal and into a secluded room. There waiting for me was the man who had bought me for his own pleasured purposes and it was then that I decided to fight back. When he had me down on the bed, I had gathered every ounce of strength in my body and I nailed him hard in the face with a fist.

Pausing again, Kanix let the memories slide across her mind like a slideshow, wondering how she was to explain the next part. “He threw acid in my face,” she bluntly stated, “I screamed so loudly from the agonizing pain that one of my owners came in and took me out. I managed to leave my client with a bloody and broken nose, but my master wasn’t a happy camper and in retaliation, he did not give me food, he only drugged me up. That night, his anger was still there and he came back to rape me, but he also abused me so badly that he simply tossed me out on the empty streets for dead. In spite of everything that had been done to me, somehow, I still had the energy to get to my feet and weakly stumble away from the building. I made it as far as the forest just beyond the city limits before I had collapsed from my injuries and lack of food and water. Between me passing out and the arrival of the next morning, I wasn’t aware of what was happening around me, but somehow, I managed to be brought here to Hunting Village.

A small smile laced her lips and she grabbed hold of Mashyuu’s hand again, leaning over her chair to kiss him on the lips happily. “I could feel someone was tending to my wounds, but I didn’t know who it was, I just knew it was a man with the motions of his hand. He had a gentle touch though, I couldn’t comprehend how he had such a gentle touch when all I had known was the roughness men could display. Something about him was different, like he was everything that the former men I had known never were. . . like he was meant to show me something. Everyday, he would tend to my wounds, giving the most attention to my acid-burned eyes, fed me, and even gave me water. One day, he told me his name. . . Askuwheteau and he told me that my name was Eluwilussit, but I wouldn’t come to realize what that meant. But I knew that wasn’t my real name. . . a long, long time ago, I remember hearing my mother cry out my name as I was taken away. . . Mitsuki Daiki.

Mashyuu sat in a soft chair made of wicker and padding, his large rough hands clasped around his loves soft delicate fingers. Eyes locked on her beautiful face while she spoke softly, of course telling him her name as if he didn't know what it was. He struggled but stifled a gentle laugh in order to keep her calm and able to tell her story. His ears tweaked, picking up on her every word as he absorbed everything she had said.

As kanix removed her hands from Mashyuu's and explained she had been kidnapped as a child and her body was used, his stomach twisted in knots while he struggled to not break someone's face from the anger he felt. The man didn't say anything as Kanix started to laugh about her story, knowing that sometimes the best way to keep yourself from breaking down and falling to tears was to laugh at your own inner pain.

In a way everyone fought their own battles, everyone went through their own turmoil and while Mashyuu had also lost his family, Kanix had gone through it in a worse way. He frowned at Kanix, her story had moved him in a way, the amount of trust it would have taken to tell him that was massive. His large arms wrapped around her and pulled her against him, to lean into his chair. He could smell her hair, and his lips were pressed to her forehead without him realizing that he was kissing her in a comforting way. "Thank you for sharing that Kanix...Mitsuki. My love." Mashyuu whispered and stroked a set of wet tears from her cheek and nuzzled her. "You can tell me anything, I'll always be here for you my angel."

you said they make fun of your body
humiliation in your eyes when you told me
well i'm going to find them don't you worry

    Mashyuu

For a very long time, I had lost all memory of myself; I didn’t know who I was, where I came from. . . what had happened in those fourteen years of my life,” Kanix started up again. “I simply accepted Eluwilussit as my name. . . I didn’t even question why I was called that, I simply let him call me by that name. Through those years, I came to learn my ‘father’s’ name, I learned that he was not just any man, but the shaman of this village. Askuwheteau was my rescuer, my savior, but in spite of all the kind and gentle things he did for and with me, I was still scared of him. It wasn’t because he was a terrifying man or had a cruel touch, he was far from that. . . it was for the reason alone that he was male. I was scared that just like the men that had taken and raped me that he would do the exact same; earn my trust, then defile it. For everyday that passed by, I kept my distance from him, leaned more toward the women and little girls of the tribe than the boys and men.

A smile laced her lips wider then and there, her hand squeezing Mashyuu’s lightly before letting it go as she took on a happier aura. “The women were kind enough to teach me the ways of their lifestyle, the basket weaving, the sewing, the harvesting of crops, everything that a tribe woman was meant to do. Where Askuwheteau was not capable of teaching me something, he would send me off to the women and girls of the tribe. However, Papa was different from the rest of the tribe; he did not know how to hunt, did not know how to build or make weapons and homes. . . As the shaman of the tribe, Life had taken him down a different path than the average Nirvit and he believed me to be the same. Things that the women and girls of the tribe could not teach me were taught by Askuwheteau, bringing joy and light into my life. I had hope that I would be able to return home to wherever and whoever my home was, but at the same time, Hunting Village became my home.

Kanix leaned back into Mashyuu’s chest and lifted her head up, looking at him momentarily with her blind eye and smiling. She reached a hand up gently and caressed his face, his cheeks, his lips as if seeing him for the first time, then moved herself to kiss him happily on the lips. Pulling herself away, the woman set herself comfortably back in his lap and gave out a sigh of relief, closing her eye and thinking for a moment. “I grew a stronger connection to nature than anyone else in the tribe, even Askuwheteau was astounded by my connection to it. Perhaps it is because of the blood that flows through my veins that I was given this special connection, but I do not know. What I am happy for though, is that I have you with me; you were the one who showed me that not all men are bad people. You gave me the hope that those on the wrong path could be saved from the dangers that lay ahead of them and that I could be the one to save them.

The smile was unwavering from her lips as she stared off into the blackened distance of her vision and sat there retelling her past. “When I was twenty, I left Hunting Village to start my own life and Askuwheteau knew that was coming, giving me his blessing and sending me off. Despite my love for a man like him, my Papa was not the reason behind why I showed a little mercy to men; I still had a deep-set hatred for them. Strangely enough, I ended up joining Basilisk Fang in hope that they would allow for me to complete my task of annihilating all men from Earthland. I was not myself when I was in Basilisk Fang; I had created lies around me of people and murdered the innocent who weren’t so deserving of death. However, I was eventually shunned from the guild for my choice of actions when I had run across a former member of Fairy Tail. In order to save myself from the wrath that would have come from my former Guild Master, I turned to the unlikely and asked for help.

Kanix squirmed in her place when she had reached the point of the story of her past that she was exceptionally happy about. “Undoubtedly, I chose the help of a man to save me from the wrath of a woman that wanted to slit my throat for sparing a life. He gave me hope that I would be able to be redeemed of all the bad things that I had done to the innocent people of Earthland. Slowly, I was pulled out of the valley of darkness and into the light, being given the title of Fairy of Redemption from none other than Leonard Dragonbane. But you, Mashyuu, when I had first met you, my world shift into a whole other view; you changed me more than anyone else could. You set everything aside for me when we went on those missions together and I was able to see just how kind and loving men could be. For you, I thank you, because without this step in my life, I could have very well turned back to the violent person I used to be.

She rest her head on his shoulder lovingly and wove her hand back into his, rubbing her thumb over the soft skin of the top of his hand. “All of our missions we have gone on, I have loved all of them, even though many of them ended up with me being injured in some way. I am even happy that I could provide for you what a woman should be able to provide and I hope that you will care for her as I do from afar. Mashyuu, I love you very, very much, and I could not be more thankful for you to be in my life as much as you are right now. I want to you to know that if you ever need me, that I will always be right there with you, no matter what the issue is, just as you are with me.” To her, that was true love; to her, she could not ask for more than he could give and right now, that was just enough for her. To be able to be in his arms, held there and never let go, this was what she had been searching for her entire life and just now finally understood.

It was a hard thing for her to do, but she finally felt that she had lifted a huge weight of her shoulders in being able to tell Mashyuu who she was. After the many years, herself, of not knowing who she was, this was something that she could finally breathe a sigh of relief to. At long last, she had finally accepted who she was and that was all that truly mattered to her as of right now, the rest could wait. However, now that one large obstacle had been pushed off the road, there would be many more to come, whether it was on her own or with Mashyuu. With this in her past, she had to look toward the future and that future wasn’t as bright as timed happened to be this instant. Her guild in turmoil, cast aside by society for choosing the life of a dark mage all because of a little girl they deemed part of the family. She would worry about that for another day, right now, what mattered most to her was the love and affection she received from Mashyuu.

    Job Details:

A gentle smile crossed Mashyuu's lips, the thought of someone taking his love in and raising her, keeping her safe and teaching her whatever he could along with the women of the village. His blue eyes gazed down at the top of her head while a hand gently brushed some hair out of her face and he kissed the top of her head. Tenderly her hand came up to trace his face and lips before she planted a gentle kiss on his lips, making him melt into her kiss and swoon in his seat. Mashyuu hugged Kanix from behind and whispered gently in her ear. "Thank you for sharing this with me. But now I have to tell you and show you something."

Slowly Mashyuu slipped out from under Kanix and placed her in the chair then placed her magical eye back in her hand, guiding it to her face then he dug in his pocket. He reached in and grabbed a small ring. Gently he dropped to his knee and took her left hand. Kanix, I know I asked you once before and you said yes, but it didn't feel real. It felt like it came out of nowhere. I want to make it a real thing. So Kanix, my love... You have made me the happiest man in the world since day one. I don't feel the way I feel with you when I am with anyone else and I don't want to." He took the sapphire and Diamond ring and slipped it on her left ring finger.

Terrible nerves rocked through his body, making his heart flutter and his stomach churn with urgent fear. She had some time to reconsider her life and the choices. Maybe she wasn't ready for a life as a wife. Maybe she was afraid that things between the two would change in a way she wasn't ready for. In a way it didn't matter, Mashyuu cleared his throat. "Kanix, will you marry me?"

you said they make fun of your body
humiliation in your eyes when you told me

    1,093 words
    Mashyuu

Kanix felt a sigh of relief wash over her and she leaned back against Mashyuu, enjoying the warmth of his arms wrapped around her. All of her life, she had never really liked her past and quite a few times, she wished she could have remained amnesiatic over it. She didn’t like thinking of all the things that had been done to her in the past, she didn’t like the rough grip of the men or the harsh words they told her. A lot of the times, she shut down during the day because an old memory of her past resurfaced from something someone had said or done. More often than not, the members of her guild could find her crippled on the floor, in tears and curled up in a ball so much unlike herself. It was that reason alone why she locked herself away in Heero’s old office, organizing the unused papers and keeping everything tidy in hope the former Guild Master would return. In a way, Heero had become her safety blanket, kept all of the bad memories from resurfacing because he gave her the hope of making all of the bad wash away.

She wiped away tears that threatened to fall too far down her cheeks, sniffling a little and keeping quiet for the rest of the time. It wasn’t because she was sad that she was crying, she was crying because an overwhelming amount of relief had filled her body. Everyday, she had carried the burden of her past, never telling anyone exactly who she was or why she did the things she did. Her past was a mystery to everyone around simply because she was too terrified to tell them what had gone on and what had made her who she was. Of all the people in the world that she could have told her past to, she had chosen Mashyuu as the first person to outright tell. Heero did not know her past, Jaeger did not know her past, Frey did not know her past, even Famine and Sol didn’t know who she truly was. Many times, she thought to herself, “what if she changed? what if she became a better person than who she was now? would all of the bad go away?”

The Guild Master had believed herself to never become as good as she was now, that she would have always been a dark mage. However, her entire life had been changed the moment that Heero stepped into her life, and even more when she had first encountered Mashyuu and all the times after. Kanix rest her head on Mashyuu’s shoulder, her blind gaze looking out at the silent streets while the rest of the village grieved over the loss of their people. Today, dozens had died, today, mothers would grieve over the loss of their husbands and children or vice versa, children would be orphaned, parents without children. . . She bit her lip and turned her head slightly in the direction of the stage that once held the bodies of Beanstalk and his Peapods. The stage began to creak and groan from immense pressure, the woodwork bending in on itself like an exploding beer barrel. However, just as the pressure of the stage started to become too much for the structure, it stopped when Mashyuu had moved Kanix off of him and slid down to his knees.

A cold sphere was placed into her hand and rolling it through her fingers ever so slightly, the woman came to recognize it was her makeshift eye. Mashyuu pushed her hand with the eye toward her face and quietly, Kanix pressed the eye gently into the empty socket of her right eye. She blinked and slowly, the world came back into focus, letting her see the dreary landscape of the saddened day that many died. Her blue orbs wandered down to where Mashyuu was kneeling, keeping herself poised and unmoving as the young male spoke to her. Kanix smiled slightly, glad to know that her sharing her past with him was something that he would not turn and run away from. He didn’t care for her past at all and perhaps, that was a sign to her that she shouldn’t care about her past anymore as well. After all, the past was the past, it helped shape and define who she was, but it was the present and future that would continue to make who she was.

Red dusted her cheeks, her gaze watching him as she listened to his words continue into explaining how she had made him such a happy man. Honestly, she wanted to curl up into a ball and cry a little at those words because she had been told those words thousands of times before. All times had been when she had been with another man, who said that her body had made him the happiest man in the world. Kanix bit her lip harder and curled her fingers into a fist, though her actions were quickly relaxed when his words came to an end. Silence accompanied the words of her lover, awestruck by what Mashyuu had said to her even though she had already told him yes. Her gaze dropped to her hands and she played with her fingers a bit, fighting back tears of happiness that now threatened to make her look sad. Slowly, the woman nodded her head and smiled, droplets of tears spilling down her cheeks as she slid down to his eye level.

Reaching forward, Kanix wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him, holding him there and giggling slightly from the amount of happiness she felt. Even if she had already told him yes, even if her reaction may have been overreacted for such a thing that had technically already happened, it was all genuine. Pulling away, Kanix looking him in the eyes and kissed him passionately, holding his face there and softly between her hands. When she pulled back again, a bright smile graced her lips and she breathed in deeply, sighing as she stood back to her feet. “Yes, I’ll marry you a thousand times over if you really wanted me to,” she giggled, the red still brilliant against the snow-pale skin. Despite having lived in Tetsukazu for many years now, the woman still held the pale complexion that she had always had. It made for reading her emotions a lot easier than she wanted, even now the bright red across her cheeks was the most visible thing on her.

    Job Details:

Joy was the only thing Mashyuu could feel when he heard Kanix say she would marry him as many times as he asked her. He turned a slight shade of red, the idea of it setting his skin on fire in a strange way. He held her close and brushed some hair out of her face. "Nothing will ever stop me from loving you or accepting who you are. Together we will always move forward, never back." Mashyuu whispered in the beauties ear and kissed her on the neck under her jaw...

One day later, as the sun rose up over the Hunting Village Mashyuu found himself sitting in the elders hut, his hand holding a small ring of bone, as the elder of the village chanted magical words and absorbed a bit of Mashyuu's power, placing it in the small ring. Once the magic was placed the Elder wrapped Mashyuu's hand around the ring and patted Mashyuu's on the shoulder. "It's done, you may go ahead and set everything else up."

After Mashyuu went around the town and told everyone of his plan the people agreed to help and set up the town to get Kanix ready for a surprise wedding. A group of women led Kanix to a small body of water to wash before the wedding then gave her attire made by hand to wear, not telling her why. Likewise Mashyuu spent an hour crafting a simple and shoddy looking tunic and pants. Both brown in color but for his first time it wasn't terrible. Standing with the Elder Mashyuu waited for the women to walk Kanix back to the center of the village for her wedding.

    Mashyuu

Kanix breathed in deeply and let her gaze drop to the blue sapphire ring that graced her right hand’s ring finger since Mashyuu’s and her last job. She fiddled with it for a moment, twirling it around her finger in a circle so that the sapphire disappeared to the palm of her hand and reappeared again. Her teeth chewed at her bottom lip from nervousness, causing a small portion of it to sprout red with blood from having bitten it too hard. Lipstick now caked a little bit of her white teeth, ruining the makeup her bridesmaids had so graciously done for her. Drawn back to the present was an odd feeling, as if the memory she had relived had only happened a few moments ago to her. It was all very hard for her to believe; perhaps, that was the reason why the memory felt like it was so unreal to her? None of it was because she had thought it only happened moments ago, but because she had never envisioned herself at this moment in time.

Lifting her gaze slowly from the Sky Ring on her finger, the woman glanced at herself in the body mirror that she stood in front of. Her bridesmaids were wandering around the room frantically, gathering up what they could to prepare her for her walk down the aisle. Yet, she watched all of it through the mirror in slow motion, her figure blocking a majority of the actions of the other women. Cornflower-blue eyes studied each woman individually as they meandered around the room in an attempt to complete her wedding outfit for the ceremony. They had all been very kind to her, but a small part of her wished that she could have held the wedding back in the forest of Tetsukazu. Fairy Tail would have rejoiced at the coming a new age, a dawn of an era that had since passed of a guild abandoned for their misdeeds. Here they were, though, standing in the small village of Hunting Village, getting ready to be abruptly married to each other.

Her eyes drifted to herself next, staring at how short she was compared to the rest of the women, even when they were not all in heels. She had rightfully chosen to go barefoot, something that she was familiar with and wouldn’t be overwhelmed by from all of what was going on around her. It was a comfort to her to have some aspect of herself the same, rather than staring back at this estranged woman in the mirror. A plastic optic gazed over the rest of herself, the hazy orb on the left remaining stagnated in its place as she looked herself over. Despite how hard her bridesmaids had tried to tame the mane that was her black hair, the excessive amount of hair barely budged from its place. Curls shrouded a majority of her features and caressed the sleek figure that was exposed by a flame-designed wedding gown. Kanix had to have her hair constantly wetted down if she expected it to remain straight and when dried it became what looked an afro.

The gown was far from ordinary, crafted from the finest of silks that the seamstresses of Hunting Village could find and in the most elegant of colors. While a majority of the gown was entirely made of silken fabric, the chest of the dress was made from a hard, bone-like material. This material had been hand painted to the colors of a flame and accentuated by a golden clip at the very center that attached the skirt to the rest of the dress. It came up and around her neck in a halter top, tied with a coarse string that didn’t bother her thick skin in the least bit, but was rough-feeling like rope. Attached to the bottom of the clip was the skirt of the gown, flowing like a ball gown, with her stomach precisely covered by a sheer, golden fabric. Wrapping around her waist, the fabric would come down to her hips before it spilled outward like a cape and dragged along the ground. Underneath this sheer fabric was the rest of the skirt, a deeper red-orange compared to the rest of the dress, that matched the chest, but had a slight addition of sparkles to it.

Every wedding gown was not complete without a mild amount of jewellery to help the bride stand out against the rest of her bridesmaids. Around her neck an Egyptian-like necklace clasped tightly against the appendage and lay gracefully along her expose shoulders. It had beads dangling on short strings from its edges and was crosshatched at its base, extending up into band-like chokers around her neck. Beautiful, spiderweb-like earrings dangled from her ears; a small, golden chain, attached to the left side and crossing over her left cheek to connect to a large loop that was pierced through her nose. Wristbands of similar making like her necklace strapped onto her wrists a quarter of the way up her forearm before stopping completely. A large, metallic-like band settled comfortably on her waist, holding the fabric in place so it did not slip or tear as easily as it may have without it. This was the entirety of the bride’s outfit, who looked too terrified to step out of the makeshift room to greet her future husband outdoors.

Hey. . . hey, hey, hey! Don’t be crying now, you’ll mess your makeup and we really can’t afford you being late to your own wedding!” one of her bridesmaids called to her. The woman rushed over to Kanix and placed a gentle hand on her shoulder, looking her carefully in the eye and silently wiping tears off her cheeks. “What’s got you crying, Love? Don’t tell me you don’t want to go through with this. . . because this is your big day, something you’ve been waiting for your entire life!”

It’s not that, Alawa,” Kanix responded to her, lifting a hand and wiping away the tears of blood and salt with a single wrist. “I am scared that all of this that is currently happening is simply too good to be true; that Mashyuu will turn away from me. My mind is too muddled to see his intentions clearly, but I keep thinking to myself that I have no reason to worry about him. He told me I had made him the happiest man in the world and that he wanted to marry me. It’s silly, I shouldn’t be thinking such negative thoughts.

She chuckled and squeezed Kanix’s shoulder, ushering her over to a vanity and setting her down to fix the bride’s makeup up. “Everyone gets like that on their wedding day; they think of all the bad things that could happen instead of appreciating everything for what it is. You are a beautiful, wonderful, young lady that any man would die for, don’t get your hopes and dreams crushed by bad thoughts. If he loves you as much as you say he does, then you have no reason to fear that he will turn away from you and leave you in the dust. Love is a finicky mistress, understand this, my child, but when love comes to greet two who are meant for each other, she will not leave.” The woman leaned down and kissed Kanix’s forehead in a loving manner, then brushed up her makeup and stood her back to her feet. “There is a handsome, young man out there, waiting for you; do not ruin your chance at eternal happiness because of some silly thoughts.

Kanix breathed a sigh of relief and pursed her lips a little, nodding her head in response to Alawa, then stalking over to the mirror again. Her stiffened stature relaxed a bit as she glanced back in the mirror, her pursed lips flexing into a genuine smile as she looked herself over again. Slender hands dusted over the dress carefully and she twirled a bit to get a full view of what the wedding gown looked like on her. Considering the dress was not a traditional white color like most modern wedding gowns were, Kanix had a small thought in the back of her head that this wasn’t a wedding at all. However, Alawa had been nice to her and spoiled the little surprise that Mashyuu had set up for her, giving away that he had planned this wedding. It was a sweet gesture on his part and while it had been rather quick after their engagement, Kanix felt that she was ready to marry him.

Not all men were bad people, some had simply fallen of the path of redemption and it would be her that would lead them back to that path. She shouldn’t have to be afraid of their misdeeds anymore, she was a much stronger person than she was making herself out to be. That terrified, little girl wasn’t who she was now; she could proudly say that she was a grown woman leading her own guild. Heero had entrusted the guild to her before his passing, she could no longer claim that men were simply out to get what they wanted. If they had been, Fairy Tail would not be in her hands and Mashyuu would not be out there, waiting to claim her as his own for the rest of their lives. The very idea that a man could love her so genuinely as she loved the world made her smile burst wider and hurt her face. It made her heart flutter and beat faster than natural, overwhelming her and getting her more excited for what was to come.

Oh, Alawa, I love him so much!” the woman stated, turning toward the woman again as the bridesmaid began to line up and hustle her out. Within her jewelled hands now held a bouquet of flowers, perennials of various kinds that had wonderful scents that filled the air. Kanix’s gaze wandered over the landscape that was bore in front of her, a magnificently decorated village center in celebration of her marriage to Mashyuu. Today, two people would become one, their hearts beating together in unison and their souls a single thought from two. It did not matter what guild either of them came from; a guild was merely a title and love did not know things such as title. As an old proverb once said, there is a red string that connects those who were destined to meet, a thread that could tangle and never break. This was the string that connected Mashyuu and her, and for as long as they lived, that thread would never break from any amount of pressure.

Around them, the center of the village was decorated in all kinds of items and trinkets that symbolized vitality, youth, happiness, wealth, and so much more. From the small skull of an animal that meant so much to her people, to little bracelets and bone items that symbolized various things. Laid out in front of her was a “carpet” of petals that extended from the building she stood at the door of, down through the plaza and to a fountain. There at the fountain stood her lover and future husband, Mashyuu, along with her beloved adoptive father and elder of the tribe. Two of her bridesmaids came up to her sides and in unison, the duo picked up the sheer fabric of her veil and pulled it over her head. Her face became enshrouded by the thin fabric, though it was still a little noticeable beneath the mesh that now concealed it from Mashyuu. Kanix still beamed with a surmount of happiness, watching as one-by-one, her bridesmaids lined up in front of her began walking down the petaled aisle.

When her bridesmaids had gone far enough that they were near to where they lined up along where pews would have been in a church, she took a step off the porch of the building. Her bare feet touched the petals of the flowers that covered the ground and pulled her along the path that would bring her to her lover. The petals danced around her from the makeshift wind that she created with her movements, flowing around her like a fairy tale scene. Kanix clasped the bouquet of flowers tightly in her hand, trying to hide the nervousness that made her heart flutter and skip beats. Before long, the woman came to the fountain that gushed clear, pure water in her presence, and which had her father and lover standing in front of her. Slowly, Kanix turned to face Mashyuu, lifting her head slightly so that she was able to get a full view of his features she loved so much. From there, he reached forward and lifted the veil to reveal her face and the elder of the tribe would summon the tribes people to gather and begin the ceremony...
