Neyvahn climbed up the endless concrete stairs of the building up towards the top, constantly readjusting his slowly deteriorating leather armor. He'd had the old thing for awhile. It was only a matter of time before he gained the necessary funds to replace it. Ney would pay to repair or replace each pad, but leather armor just simply wasn't doing enough for him, not with the kind of punishment he was putting his armor through. However, it would have to manage for this job.

After what felt like ages of taking one step after another, Neyvahn finally got to the top of the stairwell and reached the roof access door. The silver-haired mage pushed on the metal bar attached to the middle of the solid door and swung it open. The overcast sky suddenly sent a cold rush of wind over the roof, cutting right passed Neyvahn. The brisk air did nothing to deter Neyvahn as he walked over to the edge of the building.

There was a good reason as to why it took so long to go up the stairs. The building that Neyvahn was on was carefully chosen because it was the tallest one. Its sturdy foundation and its placing on elevated ground relative to the rest of the city made it the perfect spot to overlook everything.

The reason as to why Neyvahn was overlooking Motor City had to do with yet another job. This time however, it was a terrorist threat. Someone has been leaving threatening messages, then bombing old buildings. For some reason though, every building that was bombed was abandoned or did not hold anything valuable. It was odd to say the least, but Neyvahn wasn't questioning it too much. Right now, his job was to find the trigger man and stop the bombings. Well, that job was half his. He'd be accompanied by a familiar face that he met a while ago. He didn't know how long he'd have to wait for this familiar face though.

The grey cloud-covered sky blew another gust of wind passed Neyvahn as he took in the layout of the city. After a few minutes, Neyvahn turned to the roof access door, half expecting his contact to pop the door open and step into the open air. Whether this would happen or not was uncontrollable by Ney though.

And while you are sitting indoors
waiting for the storm to pass
I will be outside dancing in the rain

Stairs were a bother to climb, especially long ones that connected dozens upon dozens of floors. Astrid had learned this the hard way during her job with Lucius in which the two siblings had to climb the spiral staircase of a massive tower to reach a kidnapped child. It had taken them a while before they were actually able to reach their destination. And because of it, Astrid had become exhausted, causing her to mess up their stealth idea as she managed to trip over her two feet and cause noise, alarming the followers to her presence. The rest of that mission had been a big bloodbath because of it...
So when the musician had arrived at the place where she was supposed to be meeting her partner for this mission, she had been a bit hesitant about taking the many, many stairs to reach the roof top, the place they had agreed to meet up.

She stood at the entrance, crimson gaze staring upwards toward the edge of the top, fiddling with the violin case strap over her shoulder with her thumb while the other hand held a plastic bag weighed down by the contents within.
There was another way she could get to the top, though she hadn't relied on that method for a rather long time. A situation where she needed to use it hadn't popped up. Until now. Though a bit rusty, she was going to try it. The easy and much faster way to do this.
Removing her hand from beneath the violin case strap she began fingering the blue gem upon her necklace, taking in a deep breath and letting it fill her chest.
Closing her eyes and whispering the special chant under her breath the blue gem began to glow brightly, levitating a few inches into the air. Opening her eyes once more silver eyebrows narrowed in concentration, looking over the building before resting on a steep windowsill a couple feet off the ground. Pushing her weight down on one leg and springing upwards the slayer managed to jump onto the high windowsill with ease, carefully stepping onto it to make sure she wouldn't fall. She would continue this, checking for a correct area and then jumping to it, thanks to the ability of the necklace given to her by her father. Gravity manipulation. It allowed her to increase and decrease the gravity in a specific area, making it either easier or harder to move around. Though she didn't really use the decrease function that much, only if she wanted to test her training.
After a while of jumping from windowsill to windowsill she reached the top. Arms reaching up to the edge of the roof Astrid pushed all of her energy to her arms, pulling her up half way before she swung her leg over the side, making it easier for her to push herself all the way up.
Sitting upon the edge of the roof the dragon slayer looked to her right side, instantly spotting the familiar silver hair a few inches away from her. From the lack of reaction it didn't look like he had noticed her yet...
Blinking once Astrid stuck out her tongue in concentration as she reached into the bag hanging from her arm, rustling around before pulling out a paper wrapped sandwich. Tuna, specifically. Though no one would know unless they either had really good smelling sense or actually unwrapped the paper to see for themselves. On the way here she had come across this cute sub shop and couldn't help but fall for the fresh smell of meat and vegetables that wafted through the door and out into the street, calling customers in by its enticing smell. She was hungry, and her hunger had gotten the better of her. Though she felt rather guilty, only buying one for herself and keeping Ney waiting, so she had bought him one too. She didn't know what flavor he liked, so she got him tuna. Because cats loved tuna. And ney was a cute cat.
Shuffling her way over slowly she stopped beside him, lifting the sandwich up over his head so it would hang just above his face.
    "Hungry?"

Post by Neyvahn Keyvolo 18th September 2016, 9:54 pm

Neyvahn continued overlooking the city, picking out possible targets. Off to the east side of the city, a lot of old rotted buildings were clumped together. Small structures, close together, almost all of them made out of second-grade materials. The only things separating them were probably small alleyways for the building's fire escapes, 10 feet across at most. It was the perfect target for another bombing considering the previous attacks. The terrorist attacked old buildings, and none of the cases had any casualties. However, there was also other small stores and apartment buildings spread throughout the city.

Triangulating the next target building would take a lot of thought, most of it from the perspective of the bomber himself. Neyvahn couldn't read minds, and he didn't think that his contact could either. However, he barely knew the girl to be honest. Only one meeting ages ago, back before Ney fully understood what the hell he was. Well, not that he understood it any better at the moment.

After a thorough scan of possible bombing locations, Neyvahn took another moment to check it a second time. He might have missed something. However, he was interrupted halfway through. A sandwich hung over his head, forcing him to look up. "Hungry?"

Neyvahn whirled around to see long silver hair lifting with the light breeze, blue eyes looking up at his own. He hesitantly grabbed the sandwich. "Uhh, thanks," he said quietly, studying the sandwich.

    Tuna.

After a few quick whiffs and a small nibble, Neyvahn finally took a full bite out of the sandwich. He had to hold the sides hard not to let anything from it fall out, otherwise he'd waste such a good sandwich. Just the taste of tuna calmed Ney. He continued to munch on the delicious sandwich, accidentally getting a little bit of mayonnaise on his cheek in the process. Once he finished off the last bite, he rubbed his hands together and got rid of any crumbs lingering on his palms.

"You didn't have to bring breakfast, you know?" he mentioned, sitting down on the edge of the building.

As the bakeneko took the sandwich from her hand and began to consume it Astrid repositioned herself to feel a bit more comfortable upon the hard surface of the roof top. She dangled her legs over the edge and kicked them back and forth playfully, moving her hands behind her to support her back so she wouldn't fall off. Once settled she shrugged at Ney's statement, turning her shining gaze to the boy. "I know, but if i was going to buy myself something it only felt right to bring you something too" she hummed, giving her usual bright smile. She hadn't had breakfast this morning, for she had no time to make it. She had wanted to get in a bit of practice before venturing out so she had gotten up even more early than usual, before even the sun had awoken. But she had been so wrapped up in practicing, however, she had not noticed that it was way past the time she had set for herself to leave for the train station. Then there was the whole thing with her motion sickness and having to lay down at the station for a while before she could muster up the energy to start walking towards their meeting place without wanting to hurl up her intestines. Long story short, it had been a rough start to the day. And food was the best cure to a bad start.
Lowering her eyes back down towards the paper bag the mage shoved her hand back inside, latching onto her own sandwich and pulling it out. Unwrapping it half way she used both hands to hold onto it, taking a small bite, chewing on it thoroughly.
"So, anything seem suspicious? Or any new info on who the guy is or where the next bomb could be?" she asked through her bites, head tilting to the side curiously. She found it strange not much information was actually known about this case, only little things the clients had specified on the job info. It was a bombing after all. Usually by now they would at least have some suspects, but there were none. It was fairly strange.
Well, whoever it was at least they were nice enough to not blow up any populated buildings or hurt anyone. Astrid had to commend them on that. If there was such a thing as a 'nice' terrorist, they may have found one. Or so she would like to believe.

Neyvahn took a quick look out at the city, taking everything in once again before he recalled his earlier suspicions. "Nothing much yet," he commented, finally noticing the dot of mayonnaise on his cheek. The armored man wiped it off with a thumb before pointing his finger at the group of abandoned buildings he saw earlier. "I do think that the next target might be those buildings over there though, especially if the bomber is following his earlier patterns. Old, cheap, and devoid of any occupants. If we're gonna search for the bomb, I suggest we work our way over there and search any other possible buildings on the way." After a few more minutes resting on the ledge, Neyvahn leaned back and stood against the wind, careful not to fall off.

"Should we start searching?" If Astrid wanted to stay a little longer, Neyvahn would nod his head and keep scanning the city.

Given that Astrid sends him the 'OK' however, he would work his way from building to building. They were each about 10 meters apart or so, but the height differences would be just different enough to give Ney a way down. He would get a running start from the building  Astrid and himself were on and jump onto the rooftop of the next one closest to them. Sure it was pretty extreme but in Ney's eyes, it was much easier than taking those stupid stairs.

After finally working his way down from the tallest buildings, he would begin making his way to the first target building. It was a quaint little one story thrift shop squeezed between two other buildings, each a story higher than the thrift shop. Once Neyvahn would reach the road that the store was on, he would proceed to get off of the rooftops and take the rest of the distance on the paved road. Most stores were open and busy down the road. Fortunately, most people wouldn't be distracted by his odd appearance as he makes his way to the shop. If the bomb was to go off there, then its short one story structure would do close to no damage to the surrounding buildings when it fell. Neyvahn would make his way inside and check everything out. Like he thought, nothing of too much value. It was mostly hand-me-downs and odd little trinkets, but nothing really expensive or overly impressive. No offense to the store owner, but it was definitely a possible bombing victim.

And while you are sitting indoors
waiting for the storm to pass

Astrid saw no use in staying on the rooftop any longer. It was a meeting place, and now that they had met up and Ney had already scouted the area it was no longer any use. Going to the buildings he had pointed out was the best next step.
Nodding in response with a hum she watched as he jumped from rooftop to rooftop quickly before she could get another word in. She thought it a bit unnecessary, as she would have offered him a faster and less energy consuming method, using the same actions she used to get up here... But he was too far away now anyway to even try offering him the chance.
Balling the paper up and placing it back into the plastic bag the slayer slipped herself off of the building, using her necklace to soften her fall as she daintily landed upon the ground on two feet.

After a while of strolling through the city and its busy people Astrid found herself at the old shop the bakeneko had pointed out. She opened the rotting and worn wooden door, hearing the small chime of a bell as it opened and once again when it closed behind her. The mage repeatedly blinked her eyes as some floating dust began to sting them, whipping it away with the back of her hand. This place really was old. The smell of moss and dust was a bit overwhelming, and consuming her above average senses. But other than that, it looked like it was such a nice little thrift shop once, holding strange and various trinkets. She would have liked to see it in its prime, this would have defiantly been a place she would have blown all her money on as a kid, buying anything and everything that caught her eye. But now it was an abandoned reminder of the past. It was kinda sad no one would be able to enjoy this place ever again.
After observing her surroundings Astrid spotted the boy who seemed to also be checking out the shop. With light steps she made her way to his side, pausing just a little before him as a piece of dusty metal caught her attention. She picked it up carefully in case any of it was fragile, though from its rather heavy weight she supposed it wasn't. Squinting her gaze as she turned the orb around, she spotted what seemed to be an engraving on it. Using a thumb she removed the dust with a single wipe.
"Kreierung industries...?" She questioned, finding the foreign name slightly hard to pronounce. She felt like it sounded familiar, like she had seen this name somewhere before... But the name didn't seem to come to her at the moment.
