If Ellie's late significant other was still around, he'd tell you that she was one of the kindest and energetic people that he has ever physically met in his lifetime, but that wouldn't be the case as of now. That kindest has turned into a pragmatic mindset where death might be the most logical choice in this grand scheme of things. But her unwavering love for her significant other has kept her at bay, with only a promise that they will see each other once again....to keep her sane. Under that lonely shell of her's is a passionate and adventurous soul that just wants the same opportunities that anyone else gets and that part of her has kept her going.
Before him she spent many years with numerous betrayals and heartbreaking moments, her parents left her abandoned and was put in a foster home. Leading her to become closed and quiet child growing up, having trouble trusting anyone. Soon being placed in a rune knight squadron, mostly for disciplinary reasons, but her magic and realism did help give an edge in battle. She was treated unfairly and poorly by her teammates due to her magic and standings as a no named magician. In constant conflict with her comrades and after a disastrous battle with a dark mage guild
Her loyalty isn't something to be second guessed. If she's grown on you and have gained her trust, she's the equivalent to a hound to its master, unwavering and unquestioning to their orders and pleads. Standing by her friends decisions regardless of whether she personally feels the same way or not. It does not matter to her as long as she partake in their endeavors and help as best as she can, as well as get anything out of it that would help her out. Maybe even a favor.
In battle Ellie is a strategist, using her magic in the best situations possible without having to exert much of her own energy in the process to defeat her enemies. She puts the situation into perspective and runs if necessary because even she knows when to not fight, when an enemies power is superior to hers. A fighter along with her magic prowess understanding and proficient with many fighting and weapon styles. Studied swordsmen ship and worked to other weapons after joining the Rune Knights.
She considers herself a lone wolf especially after her accordance with the rune knights where working with others can lead to a larger accidents and mishaps, especially with people she hasn't had time with for long. But that doesn't mean she can't work with anyone, it just takes a while before she can warm up to them. She's by far no means of a leader, that in itself is to high of a title to hold, especially when you have many followers. Telling people what to do and how to do it, isn't really her style. Especially when she doesn't even know how they do their own thing, so that's why she likes to do things her own way.

Even she wants to at least consume a part of this immersive world and consume whatever it has to give to her and anything she could take, even if its by force. She hopes to find vast and unexplored lands that are crawling with beasts and landscapes that have been crafted by civilizations she's never heard of.
Magic: Through her past Ellie hasn't been able to experience magic like everyone else has but it still intrigues her to the fullest and wants to do anything she can to give her the same chances that everyone else has. With that she'll be able to share these experiences with her friends, technology magic has to offer and even the mysterious and legendary items that she comes into contact with upon her travels.
