Considerations

So after a lot of thought I'm considering a comeback to this place but I'm going to definately need some convincing, especially since all the issues I had sapped the life out of this place for me.

The big, nail in the coffin reason I left is because nothing happened in the two years I was here. Absolutely no major plot developments for the site occurred. Sure peoples personal plots were progressing well I'm assuming but nothing interesting or on a grand scale happened. The last grand scale thing to happen was right before I joined when a bad guy whose not around anymore obliterated an entire guild (Lamia Scale) and a good majority of Hargeon. Zuo Cii ended up rebuilding everything in terms of site lore and plot. This is large scale and its something that never happened since. Everything stagnated and become a pvp mission slog I truly detested.

Basically, I want to come back. A lot of the people who were here then are here now and I enjoyed those people. But I'm not going to try and endure this again along with the plethora of issues I can find when I'm bored out of my mind(ask any mod who recognizes me what I can find and what I can bitch about politely criticize)

Well, welcome back..
We've had a good amount of site-wide events since you've been gone.
We had The Priory of the Wyrm which took place in multiple cities...
We also had the Rising Tide event which basically flooded Hargeon (Poor Hargeon).
From what I was told, another event is in the works..

So yeah, recently we've been having a lot of events to get people involved and a lot of buzz-worthy player driven events such as a Coming Storm being in Fairy Tail! Which is pretty darn interesting to say the least. But yeah, if you come back, hang out for a while and wait for things to happen!

There is a difference of "Events" and Site Wide plot Ana and Ean. Events can or cannot be considered part of a characters history. Depends on if the character participates. For example, those that did participate can record in their character that they survived the event, those that did not participate ( like mine ) have no knowledge of what happened unless it comes up in a thread in which case has to be danced around. A SITE WIDE PLOT is in all purpose a SETTING in which character interact. I.E. apocalyptic wyrms attacking all of Fiore and which characters can set up to defeat or act around.

They are similar, but the main difference is TIME. Events typically don't last more than a few months in and out of character. Site wide Plots however can last up to Years. Depending on progression of characters.

So... you tell me what you are looking for?

What Ravana describes is what I want. A site wide plot, something that makes this feel like it matters.

Events run by the site have very low success rates and those that succeed tend to just barely do so, hitting the minimum.

edit: In the best sense. I want freedom. I want to see Savage Skull rampage into Sabertooth and destroy the place. While I understand people and characters can't be killed so casually(this would suck). The action itself of attacking a guild and starting something is fantastic. The ability for players to take their own initiative. This is most important for villains. Bad guys never could be bad guys. The aforementioned invasion was a good example. Vice versa, the possibility of getting arrested for said actions against your will is also a possibility. I want the world to live and breathe, rather than feel like the mission slog and numbers game it felt like when I was here.

The only way this is possible is if people quit their endless pissing contest of most powerful and start thinking about STORIES. I can't even count the amount of players that have really no thought put into their characters and instead are too worried about being the damn best. No one wants to play the defeated.... Its sad.

Well... LS guild hall and Hargeon got destroyed (again) and we're currently starting up a rebuilding event instead of snapping our fingers and saying it's fixed.


As for site having actual plot to it, I am not opposed to this. If you would like to create a suggestion with a poll, and explain in depth on this idea I would love to read (and possibly support) it. I'm not too good at explaining things so I'll be leaving that suggestion to those who are better at it

So after a very extended time of thought I've decided I'm going to slowly try and get back into the game.

I'm going to remake this character and he'll probably start in a new guild so if anyone has any suggestions story wise I'd be happy to hear them.

From what I already know(I read your character's old bio) if you don't change his persona too much that he'll be entirely unnerved by my character, who is an at least somewhat attractive looking girl who barely wears clothing, has elfin ears and a dog's tail. She's very domineering and often unintentionally or intentionally flirts with people. So i'd certainly be interested in seeing them interact at the least.
She can try to get him to join Black Rose if you want, it's not exactly active or inactive, we have people on both sides of the spectrum, some rarely post, other's are on every day and pretty much post several times a day like myself. So in terms of getting back into things, it might help if you want to start out slow and than pick up to a different pace and still get guild bonus for jobs.
