    Sunny Tower of No Return

Deep in the lands of Fiore there lies a tower shrouded in the sun's mysterious glow, those who venture in never return. This has gifted the tower with a horrible reputation to the common man, but for Sharp it has a far more atrocious symbolism attached to it. The tower doesn't just claim others, it claims them in the name of a false god, that of the sun. This Sharp couldn't allow, such a heretical mockery of Chaoris, surely those who lived within the tower would pay dearly for their treachery, especially considering the girl who had gone missing, one from Chaoris's own flock. Such a debauchery would end in lobotomization of those who dared to speak, against the truth of the universe, of the blood and carnage that would flow forth from every conflict, of the feeling of one blade hitting another, one growing martial skill, and becoming a proud warrior. Relying upon some false god who was the sun, such heresy wouldn't be tolerated.

The calming atmosphere on the way to the tower only built up Sharp's purpose as she approached. They had a peaceful landscape, no one had dared to touch them, and their worship was going unharassed, while now Sharp didn't desire to try and find emotions through slaughter, she would still fight against those who would debase his worship as the man she loved. It wasn't emotionless anymore for her, it was more personal. The calming walkways and the lush landscapes only made the thought of their power grow within her mind, and how she should stamp it out once and for all. Even those in the nearby towns held a fear of the tower, held it with respect, but not due to their knowledge of those inside, only because of the rumors, for such a weak religion to claim one who had worshiped Chaoris, it was unforgivable.

Arriving at the base of the tower, the heat of the sun beat down upon the ornamental bricks, and the various desert conditioned plants. It was a peaceful place, that would drop one's guard if they weren't prepared with knowledge beforehand of the sins that lay within. A cult of thieves and false worshippers of non-existent gods. The calming area that mimicked a desert resort would become run with blood this day, Sharp would make sure of it. She saw the door to the tower proper before her, but didn't approach, instead she would wait to see all that was about the grounds, she wished to ensure that entry wouldn't make it impossible to leave, the windows seemed breakable, and the grounds didn't seem to contain hidden traps, but one could never be too sure, especially when many hadn't returned yet. Keeping a look out at the same time as searching Sharp would circle the grounds before entering proper, not knowing that someone else may attempt to approach the tower...

    Lucie • Fairy Tail • D Rank

"Ha! You really think you are able to handle a job like this? You're taking it by yourself, and you are not even a B rank- just a lowly D rank. What's gotten into your mind?" Ren laughed, his voice sarcastically cruel, as was typical. "Oops, bad topic.”
Of course it was- he was in her mind, after all. She picked up on his lame humor almost instantly, but refused to acknowledge him at all. Crimson eyes focused forward on the horizon as she waited for the mystic tower to come into view. Travelling was nothing nowadays for her- anyone was willing to help a small girl. And if they had ill intentions? Well, Ren failed to let them live any longer. Unfortunately, even the ones who helped her out genuinely... the malevolent spirit was happy to see them gone as well. It was an endless cycle of failed mercy and spilled blood of the innocent. Nothing new, anymore.

"C'mon, Lucie, don't ignore me now," he whined in a pout-tone before chuckling in his unique, dark, silky tone. She was unable to respond, as usual, and kept her focus on the distance ahead. She had no reason to indulge in communicating with Ren, after all. She was unable to physically speak, and telepathy would be too much time and trouble. Besides, she would likely only end up messing up again and withstanding more of Ren's 'punishments', which was not a pleasant thought. "So let's see... you're going to approach this 'mystic' tower, which is currently the base of a large group of 'Sun Mages' who are simply just another one of these cults you hear about... but wait- there's more! This is a B rank job, and you are daring to take it? Ha! I hope you don't expect me to help you, little girl. You're on your own for this one."

Finally, she would be left in peace! Well, if only. Ren would not keep silent- he would only comment on her fighting and beat her down, as typical. She could never do anything right by him, unless it involved something incredibly immoral. Yet maybe, just maybe, she could avoid having him possess her, as he already said he would not 'help', and she could proved her own strength to both him and her guild. The mystic tower cast down a chilling shade as she came nearer, and stood at the base, gazing up. It was ominous, but hopefully she could be successful. Grasping the hilt of Crepundia, her tiny artifact blade, and failing to notice the nearby presence, Lucie prepared herself for the daunting task ahead.

The grounds proved uneventful, except for the heat that was radiating off of the various features. The brightly colored landscape and various desert plants made the area almost look peaceful in a Tuscan vibe, but Sharp knew the truth, what was being preached within the walls of this place was anything but peaceful. It was devastatingly cruel in how others were being taught to praise a false god, and to fight against the natural order of the world. Still they hadn't laid any obvious traps, and even if they knew of her presence, she was skilled enough to hide her aura of conflict from their gazes. To them, she might just look like a pilgrim on a journey to their promised land, though the only thing she would ever promise them is a swift death. Finishing her encircling of the compound Sharp would make her way around to the front, only to spy with her little eye a small figure approaching the tower. Upon a more focused glance, she seemed very unsure of herself, had she come to try and find the truth that people offered? That was unacceptable.

It was then that the door gave out a loud clack noise, as a man unlocked the many contraptions upon and walked out. Sharp hiding out of sight used her trinket to spy on him, he was clad in vibrant white robes with symbols of the sun upon it. it was regal, but not nearly as fancy as she would have expected, he must be respected but not high ranked, probably the first one that many people entering the tower met. Spreading out his arms he looked up towards the sun.

    "Praise the sun, my child."

Turning his gaze down towards Lucie, the man would give a soft smile.

"So many guests today, my little friend have you come to know the sun's warm embrace and promises?"

Sadly the man wouldn't get a response, or at least not one which he would enjoy, or expect. His vibrant robes glowed a crimson color as Sharp's magical blade pierced right through his sternum, magical red petals floating out from the gaping wound that he had now suffered.

"No one else will know your heresy and lies. Die the embrace of your false god prophet."

Pushing the blade out of his backside, Sharp kicked him to the ground, his wound bleeding out petals, till he finally passed away. As he fell, however, Sharp would grab the keys from his hand so as to have free access to the place, since there was still much work to be done. Looking up towards Lucie, Sharp would give less of a glance of contempt and more of curiosity, she didn't seem all that strong, but that could be deceiving, after all, Sharp's magical ability to many normally appeared mundane.

"What is one such as you doing here? Joining, revenge, or something else? If joining don't they are a false cult that will lead you down only a path of emptiness, if Revenge then you seem far too weak to accomplish it, though I admire your spirit, if another speak so that I may know the one before me before I complete my own form of pilgrimage."

    Lucie • Fairy Tail • D Rank

The small child gazed up at the man, who told her to praise the sun. Why would she want to praise the sun? Was it not just a ball of energy in the sky that gave off heat and light? She had never even been to school, but she knew that much at least. Why did these people think it was worthy of being worshiped? Was there some strange sorcery here, or were they just delusional? Lucie was unable to respond, but just as she was about to devise a plan in that young mind of hers, the tip of a blade pierced right through him, spraying out a bit of blood before it was retracted. Crimson eyes blinking, Lucie tried to process what had just occurred. It was not Ren, surely... it could not have been. Crepundia, her tiny artifact knife, was sheathed, and she was still the one in control. Her body had not moved with or even against her will, as she was so used to.

No, this was somebody else. As the member of the sun cult fell, already a few seconds well into death, red eyes gazed up to meet his killer. Long black hair, crimson eyes similar to her own, and a wicked blade. The girl, at least a few years older than Lucie, or so it appeared, began to speak. She claimed the man spouted out heresy and lies, and told him to die, which, in fact, he already had. The woman then turned her attention to the child. Joining? No, she had no intention to participate in a religion that had no common sense. Revenge? What had they ever done to her? The lady claimed that she appeared to be weak, yet Lucie could care less for such an accusation. Was she weak? Only time would tell.

Being unable to speak, and with the idea of her telepathy not fresh on her mind, the silver-haired girl simply walked through the entrance and tried to casually skirt around the woman in an innocent manner. She was here on a job for her guild, to rescue some person who was kidnapped. Lucie had enough faith in her powers to know she could handle it... maybe. Then again, Ren did say he was sitting this one out. Was that good or bad? Regardless, she had to move forward. Backing out now would bring an endless shame and guilt for days, if the malevolent spirit inside her could help it.

The little girl before Sharp seemed to be more concerned with her mission, whatever it was, then in replying to Sharp's quandaries. This had the effect of actually gaining more respect with Sharp than if she had communicated with her, as it showed more of a dedication and commitment to a goal than simply saying you were. Even with most of her emotions back and empathy, Sharp was still a fairly simple creature, and valued actions far more than words or feelings, though one would gain double points if they had the same feelings with their actions, but that is another story. Sharp sort of admired this girl from the perspective of, she didn't even flinch in front of the man's death, that showed some experience as well, perhaps she was here to silence the cult due to them wronging her, and didn't care, or maybe she was just cold to the sight of death, which was the case with Sharp herself. After a thousand or so battles, all Sharp could really see is death, though this girl seemed far too young, an ironic statement coming from Sharp, for that sort of experience, anything could happen in a world filled with magic; regardless Sharp would now take an interest in this girl, if only because she wished to see her motivation, and was already heading towards the tower anyway.

As she entered the tower, quite a few of the men inside started to make their way towards the entrance, the little girl they found amusing, and at first they weren't threatened at all by her, but as they glanced around her and looked past her on the cliff, well, things got a bit messy. Their faces turned from expressions of welcoming into expressions of disdain, there wasn't a Sharp to be found, no instead she had teleported within the tower proper and was hiding out of plain sight, so it looked like it was Lucie's doing. Raising their hands and weapons, they prepared to fight the little girl who had dared to kill one of their brothers this day.

    Lucie • Fairy Tail • D Rank

"Seems that person from before is gone. Now you're completely on your own... are you sure you shouldn't run, child?" Ren whispered, continuing to make Lucie utterly sick of hearing his voice. He did not plan on helping her. She was a lowly D rank mage of Fairy Tail on a B rank mission. How she had managed to sneak such a thing was impressive as it was, but because of it, the malevolent spirit inside her had decided to punish her anyways for being brave and daring to a degree. Unable to speak or react to the spirit, the silver-haired girl simply moved a few steps towards the mages of the sun cult.

There were twenty people total. Ten were initiates, new recruits to their group. Had she joined such a stupid and pathetic group, she likely would have ended up as one of their idiot initiates. The other ten was what she was more worried about. They were full-fledged apprentices, and fairly strong ones at that. Seeing the man brutally murdered with a strike from a sword, and nobody there but the child, they instantly blamed her. They did not understand how someone so small had done such a thing, but no questions needed to be asked. One of their own was dead.

Unsheathing her small blade, Crepundia, Lucie prepared herself for their advance. She appeared to be a weak target, so the Initiates all went after her first. Her small knife would enhance her spells a bit, and hopefully cause her to do more damage. Combining "Acuo" with her spell, Kairos Reject, she managed to slow down the time in the radius around her. Any projected attacks would stop if they were within her range of rank, and the people nearby had their speed dropped by a decent percentage. Using as much speed as she could muster, Lucie attempted to hop in front of one opponent to the next, slashing her blade across their necks or through their chests. They were not hard to take down, but by the time that six of them had fallen, the apprentices were already onto her. One in particular knocked her down using martial arts, despite the speed decrease of Kairos Reject.

Lucie was tempted to panic, but managed to remain calm, despite the sudden dim light of worry coming to her expression. She was knocked over and it seemed they were preparing some sort of heat-related spell, likely sun magic, to directly fire at her. Unable to get up or react quickly enough, the small child activated her Soul-Phasing ability. It would temporarily change her physicality to spirit form, so anything physical would pass right through her. Now all she could do was hope that their magic did not directly effect spirits. Once she regained her bearings and managed to get up, she would reverse the Daemonic ability. For now, she would wait it out, already losing energy to a degree and feeling plenty of doubt being projected into her young mind.
