Yet another job from the Magic Council, yaaaaay.  As a freelancer, taking jobs from the Magic Council were basically the only jobs she had the ability to take.  While most of the jobs were too difficult for too little pay, it seems that the only decent job was to stop a war.  Yay!  The payment for this job wasn't half-bad; too bad she couldn't bring the rest of her team with her.  Unfortunately, she'd be stuck with yet another person she didn't know to accomplish this job.  Hopefully, this one wasn't as gung-ho as that moronic walking mountain from Sabertooth.  If this one was all smash and no think, she may just leave the job to his lonesome.  Hopefully, that won't happen this time around.

The SS Myrmidon, cleverly named George by Almyra, sat by several kilometers away from the assigned place; the Serene Cliffs.  However, they were near by a small inn called 'The Lonely Inn' where they were told they may run into their job partner.  The Lonely Inn's sign swung over the door for a moment before Taliya wiped her brow.  "Almost there, Anastasia," Taliya said as she pointed her finger at the building.  With a little groan, Anastasia dragged her feet long the ground trying to bear this summer heat.  "Yeah, woohoo," she said in an exhausted manner, throwing her left hand up as if it was in response to victory; the fatigue was evident in her display.  

"Why did we have to park so far back?  Geez," she stated as sweat began to pour from her forehead down her face.  She had her blouse undone and wrapped around her waste, showing only a skin-tight black spandex top.  The spandex was stained in a darker shade of black, absorbing her sweat and using it to cool herself down.  "Where's Nao when you need him?"

"Oh?"  Taliya asked as a sheepish grin crossed her face.  "You want him to get you wet?" Taliya asked as she nudged Anastasia with her elbow.  Normally, Ana would quickly respond with an earth shattering punch to the top of Taliya's head, but the heat and the exhaustion was getting to her, draining whatever energy she had and disabled her ability to lash back out her perverted guardian.  "He could bring the rain, you moron," she said in a gaspy, breathy voice.

And then victory had been attained.  Ana lunged herself towards the door of the Lonely Inn and swung the door open, feeling the cool air from within.  A smile washed over her face as she felt the cool, refreshing air make contact with her sweat covered body.  As she stood there for a moment, a large hulking man popped out from out of nowhere.  "HELLO!" the man shouted, causing the two girls to shriek out loud, slamming the door in the giant's face.  Clearing her throat after realizing what she did, she opened the door only to apologize to the giant man.  

"Well, I'll take a room for the night if you can give me something to drink.  Something very cold," she said while still in the doorway before pausing and looking towards Taliya.  "Make that two drinks, actually," she asked as the giant man's demeanor went from welcoming to angered.  The angered look on the man's face was quite unsettling, causing Ana and Taliya to shift around for a moment.  After seeing the two growing increasingly uneasy, the large man nodded his head and gave them the peace sign.  "Thertainly!  Two yummy refreshing drinks, coming right up, sugar!" The large, effeminate man said as he grabbed Taliya and Ana by the hands and dragged them into the Inn and closed the door behind them.  The two of them slid into the inn, with Ana being used as a surfboard.  

"Oh, that smarts," Ana said.  "Thankfully, we had such a flat surface to slide in on, ugh," Taliya said.  Now that Ana had enough strength, she simply got up, waited for Taliya to get up before smashing her back down with a powerful punch from the top of the head.  She quickly covered up her chest with a blush over her face.  "There's nothing wrong with my boobs. They're average now," she said in a hushed and annoyed manner.  

Turning her head towards those that were in the relatively empty inn, she spotted a brown haired man with very fair skin.  Taliya stood up and dusted herself off and rubbed the top of her head.  A hooking of Ana's head signaled Taliya to follow as the two of them made their way towards Shen, who sat by a window.  

"Excuse me, you wouldn't happen to be here for the, uh," she said before pulling out a sheet of paper.  The sheet was moist, but all the information held within was still in tact.  She opened up the sheet of paper and read over the names of the bandit tribes participating in this war.  "Buzzards and the uh.." she said as she squinted her eyes a bit.  "Hijacks?" she asked.  "Anyway, you're here for that job right?" she asked before putting the document back into her pants pocket.

Shen Hakuhei, as he called himself, formally introduced himself to the pair.  Anastasia carefully bowed her head for a moment.  "Nice to meet you, Shen Hakuhei," she greeted.  While it isn't normal for her to be this formal, it's only polite to return polite formalities with a polite formality.  She doesn't know whether or not she would ever do another job with Shen in the future, so it was best to leave a good first impression.  And her polite formality was interrupted by Taliya.  Taliya rested a hand upon the table that Shen was sitting at and leaned over so that he would get a good view of her large bust directly in front of him.  Oh, she didn't allow her body to touch Shen, no no, that's not how Taliya operates.

"Well, hello there!" she said with a greeting.  With a grumble, Anastasia grabbed her by the back of her 'shirt', if you could call it that, and dragged her away from Shen to give him a little bit of breathing room.  "Not everyone is interested in your breasts, Taliya," Anastasia whispered to her only to receive a shrug in response.  Returning to Shen, Anastasia sighed.  "I apologize for that.  My name is Anastasia Isayev and this is my guardian, Taliya," she said.  She was pondering throwing in her guild team affiliation, but it was best to let that go for now.  

The idea of performing a job with as little use of force possible will be quite difficult for Anastasia.  Up until this point, she was forced to display as much force as possible to completely decimate foes, with the exception of a few jobs where she had to hold back.  Yes, this job was definitely something different as their job this time around was to stop a war from breaking out instead of fetching someone, defeating them, or stopping a band of evil-doers from raiding a village/town/city/etc.  Ana's first thought was to show brute force to the point where the two factions would HAVE to team together in order to take down a common foe, but this isn't a manga that Ana read; this is real life.  Strategies like that won't work in real life.


"Well, we'll just have to see how it goes.  But don't be surprised if we have to show some force," she said before the inn-keeper handed the group their keys.  Ana and Taliya would be staying on the third floor as Shen would be staying on the second floor.  Wonderful.  And then then front door swung open only for the large man to greet them.  They were decked out in black and blue with the one that was the leader looking much different than the rest.  The leader wore a black and blue coat with no shirt on underneath.  He looked to be in his late 50s.  A rugged man that had seen some atrocities in the past; or at least that what he looked like on the outside.

"Oh hello, there sweeties," the large man welcomed them at the door.  

"Out of our way, you fruit," the leader of the Pyjacks said before the large man's demeanor quickly turned.  It went from cool and controlled to a quickly annoyed lit fuse.  The large man quickly placed his palm upon the leader of the Pyjack's face and shoved him out the door, causing him to slide across the ground and into a tree in the distance.  

"Alright.  My bad!" the leader of the Pyjacks said in the distance.  With the man's apology accepted, the large, brutish inn-keeper returned to a happy demeanor and simply asked, "How many and how long?"

Picking himself up out of the rubble of the tree, the leader of the Pyjack grunted and dusted himself off before returning to the door.  "10 for who knows how long," the man said as he returned to the front of the group.

"Alright, sugar!  But make sure you don't start any trouble now," he said with a smile which turned to a glare; working as a stiff warning to the Pyjacks.  "Yeah, yeah, yeah.  We promise to behave," the leader said as the large man slapped his hands together and tilted it to one side next to his face.  "That's THUPER!" he said before fluttering back to the counter.  "Make yourselves at home, alright?" he said as he started to rummage up their keys and start to write in his log on what key belongs to who.  

As the Pyjacks walked in, the leader of the Buzzards and his entourage of 9 others came down the stairs at the same time.  "Look what the cat dragged in," spoke the leader of the Buzzards.  The girl, who was strangely their leader giggled as her and her group walked down the stairs.  The two groups walked up to each other, face-to-face, person-to-person as if ready for a battle with the two leaders in the middle.  There was, perhaps a 2 meter gap between the two groups.

"Buzzards, show them intimidation!" she said with a ojou-sama laugh.  The 9 members of the Buzzards struck a strange pose with their arms in the air and with a resounding squaking sound.  Rubbing his chin, the leader of the Pyjacks laughed and took off his cloak.  "Pyjacks!  Pose!" The Pyjacks simply all planked in perfect unison.  Another laugh came from the leader of the Buzzards.

In the distance, Ana and Taliya simply watched the entire exchange.  "Is that seriously the two gangs that we have to quell?" Anastasia asked in disbelief.  "I don't know if they are going to actually fight or if they're going to dance."

"Who knows, knowing the way these storylines go, they're most likely father and daughter.  Or stranger, lovers," Taliya said with a clear of her throat.  Their commentary was broken up by the bulky, behemoth of a man breaking through the posing, causing everyone to return to their neutral position.  

"Here are your rooms.  You're on the second floor.  Now boys," the man said in a very flamboyant manner.  "Don't go downstairs to the second floor and bother the Buzzards," he said to the Pyjacks before looking towards the Buzzards.  "And don't you all go up to the third floor and cause a ruckus with the Pyjacks," he said with a big smile on his face.  His face changed once again to a more grave one.  "UNDERSTOOD?"

The man's presence was intimidating, causing everyone else to shrink back for a moment.  "Y-Ye-Yes sir," they all said in unison.  "THUPER!" the man responded in delight before fluttering off back to his desk.
