Chiyo looked around the village and saw the sickly looking people, the people who looked terrified. The young mage shook her head slowly. Why would anyone do this? She immediately began walking, unable to stand looking at this any longer. As she walked, Chiyo recalled when she was no better than these people. Living in fear, never knowing if today was the day they came for you. Fear had ruled her life, until Takumi had set her free from all that pain with his kind words and gentle hands. The Blood mage nearly growled in anger as she walked. She soon spotted the headquarters of these thieves, and began striding angrily towards it. She didn't care if she was spotted. She wanted them to see her coming, see her and know that their doom was here. She hoped they went down screaming and begging for mercy. Was that cruel? Maybe. But Chiyo did what she had to do. She wasn't some weak kneed sissy who wouldn't fight or kill anyone. She was ready. She hoped the thieves were ready too, so she had at least one good fight. Chiyo smiled, a deadly and evil looking grin.

When he'd first heard the details about the job it had failed to truly catch Tristan's interest. What business was it of his if the client couldn’t hold on to his possessions and ended up handing them over to a bunch of bandits? However, the prospect of having an empty stomach wasn’t all that appealing so he had to stand there and truly weigh his options. However, what truly caught his interest was when the client made mention of these bandits never giving up. Now that had the potential of proving to be quite the fight. With a sudden grin Tristan assured the client that he had nothing more to worry about and set off for once for these ruins that served as their hideout. Once he’d arrived at the village full of the sick and the destitute.
The young wizard stood at nearly six and a half feet and was clad in his usual black attire; though he wore a white with its hood drawn up to fend off the incessant light cast down from the blazing sun. Tristan placed the back of his hand against his mouth as he tried to stifle a hand. He let out a low groan and grumbled about being up so early. The people who seemed to be stuck in a web of fear hardly registered to the young mage. He wasn’t so charitable that he bothered to notice the problems of those around him. Instead he just strolled forward confidently with the bandit’s hideout as his destination.

Chiyo looked at the other mage. The young woman noted his black attire and stifled a laugh. He had to be nuts to wear that in this heat. Even she was wearing white rather than black. "Are you nuts, or just trying to bake yourself to death?" Chiyo let out an actual giggle at this, her feet making crunching noises in the sand as she walked. The blood mage moved faster now, her wolf following closely behind with his tounge lolling out. "Spiritfall, when we get there find a way to distract them so we can take the thieves out more easily." The blood mage grinned as her pet nodded, too hot to attempt speaking at the moment. Chiyo began running now, her hair a black banner flowing around her, black as ink and soft as velvet. As she ran Chiyo began to think of a strategy, her brain going a million miles a minute. She had to figure out how to take out an entire bandit gang with just two. How would they do it? She didn't know yet but she would figure something out soon. She always did. Wait. It was right in front of her. How to get in and potentially terrify these bandits enough to finish this job. "Bloodwings!" The blood mage grinned as huge bloody wings spread outwards from her back, not even pausing before launching a few feet in the air.

Was Tristan nuts? That was a distinct possibility but the truth of the matter wasn’t nearly as interesting as that. His wardrobe wasn’t really something to brag about. In fact other than the set of clothes he wore he only had three other sets all of which were rather similar in appearance. Did the heat bother him any more than it normally would? Quite possibly but he was well accustomed to the heat of the desert, even if it wasn’t his ideal part of the day. When she questioned his choice of attire the young wizard quirked an eyebrow and looked over in her direction. She wore all white so it was a reasonable question even if the way she’d asked wasn’t terribly friendly. The giggle that quickly followed definitely didn’t help matters either.
Sweat built up along his brow while sand started to infiltrate his dark leather boots. Over all this was shaping up to be a rather terrible day. She didn’t give him too much time to formulate a response as she picked up her pace seemingly in a hurry to reach their destination. Tristan’s hazel eyes tracked the progress the wolf made as it trailed behind her which incited a desire to keep some distance between him and the other wizard. She said something and he overheard the word Spiritfall but due to the distance that was opening up between them he failed to pick up any clues that it was actually the wolf’s name. Then she shouted another word. This time she called out for blood wings and at first Tristan thought that the heat must have gotten to her.
An addled mind had a way of making a person say the most random things but when he saw the wings of blood spread out from her back his gait lost a step before he managed to regain his composure. Off she went a few feet off the ground and all Tristan could do was grumble. So much heat… and so much of this blasted sand. It was getting everywhere! For a second he was tempted to unleash the wings of Xarram to show off a bit, but his better judgement overruled that. He could only sustain the wings composed of pure shadow for so long before the power went inert and he had to refocus his magical power. He let out another low groan as he picked his pace. If he took long dallying about the other wizard might just take down all the bandits before he got there and that just wouldn’t do.

Chiyo flew higher, trying to stifle a whoop so they wouldn't hear her coming. She flew with incredible speed as she let her hair tumble loose from the braid it had been in. The freedom flight gave her was just incredible. She felt so light, like she could fly all the way to the stars. Her wolf still followed her, spreading his own red-and black wings. Spiritfall flew just behind his master as she did a loop in the air, ink black hair going all over the place. They made for an impressive sight, the girl with black wings and the horse sized wolf flying overhead. Chiyo's icy blue eyes were wide with delight as she touched down right in the shadowed section of the wall. She began looking for a way in, studying every crack in the wall, every loose stone, before finally settling her eyes on a window, and climbed through the window with a boost from spiritfall, who simply flew up when Chiyo was inside. The blood mage attempted to adjust her eyes to the dark room she had just climbed into. She nearly gasped. She was surrounded. So they had spotted her after all. Oh well. Time to fight. Chiyo bared her teeth in a snarl and spread out her wings, hoping to intimidate the bandits with those bloody beauties.

By the time he finally arrived at what must have been the bandits’ hideout he had just enough time to see the winged wolf enter in through a window. When he realized it would take him entirely too long to climb up there Tristan could only grumble and close his eyes. With a slight fluctuation of his magical energy he could feel the change as it settled over his body. Strands of darkness spread out form his shoulder blades and reached out to take on a shape of a pair of bone-like wings. Feathers started to take form rapidly but even so the set of wings were composed of nothing but darkness and only resembled feathered wings. No matter how many times he unleashed even that small amount of power from the demon Xarram he could feel his body wanting to fight back against the change.
His mind quickly circumvented that deep set urge and allowed the partial Take Over to carry out until completion. The dark wings stretched out to six feet while he crouched low. As his posture shifted his hazel-eyed gaze rose to focus on the open window. With a mightly leap from the ground his wings swept down to displace enough air to push his way ever higher. Without warning the young wizard flew through the window in an assisted leap only to land a few feet into the room and landed with a resounding thud. The dark wings lifted to make his body appear larger and shade his body from any residual light that flowed into the room. Due to the power he derived from Xarram his eyes had long since adapted to the dark places in the world. He immediately took note of the ten swordsman who apparently set a trap for them and were just about to charge forward. That is until they had another winged guest burst into the room.
Tristan quickly lifted his arms so that his open palms were faced towards the two swordsmen closest to the other wizard who had leaped in before him. Two magical circles of crimson energy appeared before under his feet and quickly moved up the length of his legs. As they passed his flesh and clothing changed with it. Then without warning the darkness surroundings his two targets immediately swirled and closed in on the two swordsman effectively hindering their movements while it pressed in on them. There was a sinister grin upon his face which was briefly illuminated in the crimson glow given off from the magical circles.

Chiyo laughed like a madwoman and whirled with incredible speed to face her oponents. "Twisting eruption of the dual phantom!" cried Chiyo, outstretching one arm as a pair of water demon apeared to charge and destroy everything in their path. The demons were huge, fast, and strong. These bandits were in for a world of hurt when the demons hit them. Chiyo laughed again as shestreched her hand towards one demon, for the demons would only go where she commanded. "Destroy them" said the mage in a cold voice, absolutely indifferent as she directed the demons at the bandits. Her icy eyes were a blank glacial field, an expanse of cold uncaring and freezing snow. The young mage watched with little emotion as her demons hit two bandits and sent them flying with ease.
"Spiritfall!" The wolf already knew what to do, snarling at one bandit, who began screaming as his worst nightares came to life in his eyes. They were quite a pair, Chiyo and Spiritfall. The wolf's wings spread wider as he growled, eyes narrowed in concentration.
Meanwhile, Chiyo directed her demons at another bandit, who raised his sword in an attempt to fend them off. How perfectly pathetic they were. How could they call themselves bandits? She was shocked that these were the ones who had caused so much terror. How had they even done it?
Had they waved their swords at the villagers until the villagers gave?

Re: The King Of Thieves (job, kranzer )
The dark room quickly became the stuff of nightmares. The manic laughter of his interim partner combined with the low rumbling growl of her wolf and the fact the darkness crept in and attacked some of the bandits might have proved potent enough to unnerve lesser men. These bandits however appeared to be made of sturdier stuff as they charged forward. The two swordsmen who had been hit by the Dark Coffins recovered from the lingering effects of it and immediately charged the young wizard. The two were joined by a third. So this was going to be three on one was it? They were odds that Tristan might actually find to be a bit of fun.
The first swords man rushed in while the second slowed his pace. The man was most likely filled with fear due to facing off against a partially transformed demon. A wry wring worked its way on to his face at the thought. The third moved to the side in an attempt to flank the young mage, but Tristan was wise to it. Not to mention this wasn’t Tristan’s first time fighting against greater numbers. The first swordsman brought his sword down at an angle. The blade swept just over Tristan’s head as he tucked and rolled to the side. Right as he rolled on to his feet Tristan realized he’d made a grave tactical error. The second swordsman didn’t’ hold back out of fear as he originally thought. The bandit tossed a small object towards the young wizard and at first Tristan didn’t recognize what it was.
The small object hit the ground at his feet and caused him to furrow his brow. It was too late when he recognized that it was a Lacrima. “Crap,” he managed to say before the Lacrima activated and dispersed a cloud of smoke all around the young wizard. Tristan couldn’t see anything despite his superior vision in the dark. With no other recourse and simply not knowing what was going to happen next he had but one path. The dark wings that extended out of his back shifted forward until they were wrapped around his body. The wings started to become distorted as the magical energy that they were composed of shifted and took on the shape of a barrier that surrounded his body. “Dark shroud!”
He didn’t know how many times he was hit but the barrier shattered beneath the bandit’s assault and sent him stumbling back into the wall. His right shoulder hit the wall hard and he nearly slipped back out the window but luckily he managed to regain his balance. With a furrowed brow his wings were pulled back in the middle of being reformed. There was another crimson circle that appeared across his back and quickly spread out over his torso as he unleashed another partial takeover. Once the circle faded and the Core of Xarram was unleashed only his arms and head remained his own. Everything else took on the visage of the shadow demon Xarram.
With his right hand held out a tendril of darkness spread down his arm and took on the shape of an elongated whip known as Xarram’s Whip. The third swordsman charged forward with his blade poised to strike. Tristan was ready for him and sprang into action. His whip lashed out and wrapped its way around the third swordsman’s wrist and held true. With a quick smirk the young wizard gripped with whip with both hands and gave a might yank in an attempt to send the third swordsman tumbling out the window. His plan worked for the most part. The swordsman went out with just enough time for Tristan to pull his whip free. However, there wasn’t that satisfying scream that was normally cut short with a splat. The persistent fool fell several feet before he grabbed hold of a ledge and started to climb his way back up. A low growl rumbled in his throat as the remaining two swordsman closed in on him. Tristan quickly struck out with his whip. The dark weapon lashed out and left deep gashes in the flesh of the two bandits. He managed to strike both of them twice before one finally built up the courage and charged forward.
Tristan tried to sidestep so he could get out of the reach of the second swordsman’s blade but the edge caught him in the side. With a quick leap away Tristan at least managed to avoid a severe wound; while the blade only grazed his ribs it still stung pretty bad. Anger flashed through his hazel eyes and he did his best not to focus too much on it.

Re: The King Of Thieves (job, kranzer )
Chiyo lept into battle with a snarl, her demons hot on her tail. Chiyo didnt bother using magic as she punched the nearest bandit in the face, while her demons set upon another of the three bandits. He swiped at her with his sword, landing a stinging blow that opened a shallow cut on her face. Chiyo laughed. This was perfect. Once her blood was spilled she held an incredibly powerful weapon in her grasp, the ability to control her own blood. A whip began forming in her hand, made up of the blood dripping from Chiyo's face. As chiyo dodged another blow, she whirled under the sword blade and wrapped the whip around the bandit's legs with a flick of her wrist, sending him toppling to the ground. The young woman whirled to face her temporary job partner. " Are you alright?!" she shouted, smacking the bandit as he tried to stand again. This time he stayed down, blood trickling from his nose where Chiyo had punched him. It looked badly broken. Chiyo
moved to help her water demons finish the other bandit, who went down with a final blow rom Chiyo's whip. Their job done, her water demons dissapated.

Re: The King Of Thieves (job, kranzer )
His gaze was momentarily drawn away from the bandits when she called out to see if he was alright. The young wizard simply smiled as he stood up and lifted his land hand towards the two swordsmen. “Dark Coffin,” he said with a snarl. Once more the darkness started to shift around the two swordsmen and gather around their bodies. There was still a lingering trace of anger behind his hazel eyes when he looked towards her once more. “Just a scratch,” he said reassuringly. The two swordsmen groaned in pain as the coffin-shaped darkness pressed in on their bodies and hampered their mobility.
The third swordsmen was just starting to crawl through the window. His irritation was clearly evident in his expression. The man may have had an easier time of it if he didn’t have a sword gripped in his left hand. With a quick flick of his wrist Tristan snapped the whip into the third swordsman’s face and sent him sliding back down the wall. The other two swordsmen started to move forward despite the obvious pain being dealt to their bodies. Tristan spared a momentary glance at his interim partner and noted the similarity between them. The both possessed wings and a whip despite the vastly different composition. Darkness and blood. It was enough to cause his eyebrow to arch for a moment before he stepped forward and unleashed another flurry of strikes with his whip. Each swordsman received a total of four lashes each.

Re: The King Of Thieves (job, kranzer )
Chiyo whirled around with her bloodwhip in her hand, lashing ut with blinding speed at the nearest of the swrdsmen. Her delicate face was twisted with a cruel grin as she and her wolf lept as one. Now this was living. Thescreams and the clanging of swords, Spiritfall's growls and her own furious yells, it was beautiful to her, this dance of blood and weapons. She wrapped her whip around the hilt of her opponents sword, yanking it from his grasp before grabbing it herself and pointing it at him. "Try me, bitch." The swordsman ran for it. Chiyo jumped on top of Spiritfall's back, an incredible sight, the winged woman and the winged wolf, a single unit of ferocity and fighting skills. The two charged the next swordsman, who ended up being run over by the horse-sized wolf. Spiritfall reared on his hind legs and slammed his front paws down on another swordman's shoulders, slamming him to the ground with a crack. Chiyo lashed out at the swordsman Spiritfall had run ove, who was not quite finished yet. As she lashed out Chiyo felt a stinging sensation in her arm and realized that another swordman had just stabbed her. With an enraged scream she used the sword she had stolen from the bandits to slam him in the face. Oh well. More blood meant better weapons.

Re: The King Of Thieves (job, kranzer )
The two bandits didn’t look to be doing so well once the lingering effects of the Dark Coffin started to wear of. They breathed heavily and their bodies were heavy. Tristan on the other hand wasn’t any worse for wear save for the slash across his ribs. His opponents started to move forward again and it made the young wizard snicker. “You two are rather persistent.” The dark wings that shrouded his body from the light started to break apart and fade. His legs gradually started to phase back to their normal states as he lost his hold on the two partial take overs. He had a choice to make after that. Either he could let the two swordsmen circle around and attack him from both sides or he could take the initiative.
Tristan was never one to wait for his opponent so he rushed forward and struck out with his whip. The tip of the whip lashed out against the two swordsmen in rapid succession. It didn’t take long before the two swordsmen fell to the ground blood seeped from the myriad of wounds opened up by the dark whip. There was something he was missing though but he was so caught up in the situation that he failed to notice that third swordsmen managed to crawl through the window and tossed a smoke Lacrima at Tristan’s feet. “Crap!” Tristan leaped forward but it was already too late. He felt a sudden burning sensation down his back as the third swordsman’s blade found purchase against his flesh.
The young wizard hit the ground and rolled forward, and as he rolled back to his feet he turned and struck out with his whip. The strike opened up a gash on the swordsman’s cheek.

Re: The King Of Thieves (job, kranzer )
Chiyo decided to activate something guaranteed to work. Her eyes were glowing red now as she streched her hand out to one of the bandits, locking his body in her control. A bead of sweat dripped down her brow. He was fighting back pretty hard. Chiyo forced him to attack his own comrades as he screamed, the pain caused by Chiyo's bloodbending pulsing throughout his entire body. Chiyo couldn't move her wn body right now, but she could control the bandit's body. Her eyes were a pair of slits through which icy blue jewels gleamed. As she controlled the one bandit, another advanced on her. Chiyo was unable to move, so she could only sit there as he moved to attack. Spiritfall could move, however, and snarled at him, snapping those powerful jaws. The wolf defended his master as best as he could without moving too much, because movement would break Chiyo's link to the bandit and her control would be broken. The young woman gritted her teeth and put more power into the spell as the bandit bucked against her control. Her outstreched arm was shaking, the blood still flowing freely from the wound that she had obtained. She screamed, pain begging to shoot through her own body, but still she held on, determined to be the winner.

Re: The King Of Thieves (job, kranzer )
The whip he held in a tight grip with his right hand started to fluctuate. The compressed shadows expanded and tendrils of darkness billowed up like smoke until it faded from view. Hs hold on the takeover spell slipped and his torso swiftly returned to its natural state. The anger that flitted across those hazel eyes only intensified when the bandit charged forward. Now that he was unarmed the young wizard was left with only a limited number of choices. His interim partner and her wolf were still busy so he couldn’t count on their assistance. His hand slid across the ground with the intent to provide a more stable foundation to spring from once the swordsman was within range. Rather than feeling the floor beneath his palm he felt the leather clad hilt of a sword. It most likely belonged to one of the two men he’d taken down.
Since it was the only thing he could rely on at the moment Tristan quickly took the blade in hand and brought it to bear just in time to intercept a slash aimed at his right shoulder. The force of the hit and the strain of keeping the opponent’s blade from getting at his flesh caused his muscles to strain. The strain caused his wounds to flare with pain. The pain sharpened his focus and gave him the strength he needed to push up from his crouched position. The sudden show of force caught the swordsman of guard and the two shared a frenzied exchange of attack. Tristan’s skill with a blade was rough at best but he attacked with the fury of a madman. The bandit’s attacks were more skillful and well placed. He managed to score a hit along Tristan’s left thigh but the young wizard returned two slashes in turn.

Re: The King Of Thieves (job, kranzer )
Chiyo's control was shaken loose, a terrific crack echoing throughout the room. Her high pitched screech of rage resounded throughout the limited space, her eyes full of flames. As the young woman screeched, her eyes glowed red once more, this time more full of rage than they had been so far. "Ragged Whirlwind Drain!" As Chiyo cried out, the blood of one of the swordsmen would slowly drain out of is body, enough for Chiyo to use as a weapon and enough to slightly weaken the remaining swordsman. A volley of bloody bullets radiated out from her in a starburst, deadly to those who were hit for the most part. One of the bullets of blood hit the swordsman's shoulder, right in the meaty part. Chiyo charged, having dismounted from Spiritfall, and slashed at him with her sword, breath coming in ragged gasps, exhiliration pounding throughout her entire body. He managed to block it, but only just. Chiyo roared this time, lashing out with all the strength in her small body. Her blade bit into his leg, and he fell to one knee, though he raised his sword and managed to cut Chiyo's unwounded forearm.

Re: The King Of Thieves (job, kranzer )
The clang of steel against steel rang through the room as the young wizard and the bandit clashed in a dance of death. One would step in and attack while the other executed a swift defense or would find a way to step away. Sparks flew off the blade periodically when they made contact and would illuminate their faces with a dim glow. The bandit’s face was covered in sweat and both combatants bled from various wounds. Heavy breathing and the thumps that echoed from boots against the cold hard floor. Suddenly Tristan stumbled back and it appeared as if he lost his footing. The bandit smiled and moved in for what he thought would be an easy kill. However, much to his dismay it was actually nothing more than a feint.
His first clue was the smirk that was plastered all over Tristan’s face. The bandit’s blade was thrust out low in an attempt to pierce Tristan’s abdomen. With a sudden display of deft foot work the young wizard parried with the flat of his blade. One more quick movement saw a new wound opened up on the bandit’s shoulder. The bandit roared in pain and anger clouded his expression. It was exactly the result Tristan had hoped for. The two combatants continued to clash with Tristan landing three more blows before they separated. The pain that must have coursed through the bandit’s body tempered his anger and the sudden shrieks from Tristan’s interim partner served to distract both of them.
The look of all that blood and the burning red eyes was enough to unsettle both of them. For Tristan it wasn’t nearly as unsettling because of all he’d seen through the eyes of Xarram, but it was still unsettling. The two combatants turned to face off once more. Tristan knew he had to end this quickly. Her screams didn’t sound pleasant so he had no idea if she was actually in trouble or if she was just losing it. While he circled around the bandit Tristan kept a watchful gaze for any openings he could exploit. "You alright over there?"
