The wet feeling of tears streaked down the woman's cheeks, her head bowed in front of her body, and her hands rested in her lap while clasped together. A breeze ran across her face, drying the trails of her crying, causing a slight stinging to occur. That same soft wind caressed the world around her and she found her attention to be caught by the falling leaves that gently began to find their way to the earth.
Looking up, she studied the giant oak that she knelt in front of. It was normally a strong creation, made to withstand the harsh elements that naturally cycled in the area. But lately, it had begun to take more of a turn, and appear weathered. All things change.
Placing her palm out in front of her, she touched the words carved into it's bark.
'In Loving Memory.'
It was their anniversary of death.
The day of remembrance where her entire life changed and she began to feel alone.
Certainly nothing that she had not grown accustomed to, Kariline simply sighed, and stood. There was no reason to stay here longer than needed. She had spent the past year traveling across the continent, trying to find some reason to further in existence. It had been a year, almost to date that Alakai had died and she had lost her magic. She had lost her summons, and was left a weak and pitiful girl.
Just a Year ago that she found strength anew, and pushed forward in her abilities, finding herself capable of much more. Since then, she has not found a form of purpose to devote to.
Kariline stepped away from the large tree and begun to head back into town. She proposed to herself that staying in Oak Town would be the best for tonight, and to head out in the morning. It would give her an idea on what the next step would be. She had been everywhere that Fiore had to offer... except for Hargeon. She had not stepped back in Hargeon since she had left the guild to pursuit her brother. Word of it's fate had met her after some time, and each news she had come across left a pain in her heart.
She thought about where everyone was, what they were doing, and if they were happy... Talen, Kihia, Naraca, Quincy... So many others... They were all precious to her. She assumed that Naraca had left in search of her, perhaps he still did, but she was sure that the rest had stayed within Lamia Scale.
Nostalgia hit Kariline as she found herself looking at the brandished tattoo that was normally hidden by her glove. It had changed color ever since she re-obtained her magic, now appearing like a nights sky, and she could never figure out what it had meant.
Shrugging it off she looked up and glanced to the left. A bustling wind picked up some sand and caused her to turn her head further. Her gaze following the faces of some passerby's in the market. No one special. At least... that is what she thought.
The first thing that caught her attention was the flash of white. His hair shifting from the breeze and showing a few of his noticeable features. Including eyes that mimicked the color of snow.
Her breath was taken aback and Kariline's brow's furrowed as she took a step forward. Was it really him? Is it possible that she would see him here? Was it just a ghost of her past?
She bit her bottom lip and stepped up to the man. Her eyes widened as she recognized him fully, and her heart ached as she urged to hug him but restrained herself.
"Kihia?"
Her voice finally broke through her quivering mouth. It was loud enough to hear, but not to be caught by other people that walked between the short amount of space that separated their bodies.
