Get Rid Of The Pesky Blockade! [Job] Empty Re: Get Rid Of The Pesky Blockade! [Job]

Heading through the Clover town, Leila was once again looking for a client that was to explain her new contract in greater detail that the parchment she had in her hand did. Though, as this was her first visit to this town, she simply had to take a little detour first. After all, this was no ordinary place, quite the opposite actually. A place where legends would rest after deciding that they had done enough for world of magic. Perhaps she would one day end the same way. Or she would continue doing her job as a mage for all eternity, it was all possible. But she wasn't dilly-dallying for too long, after all, she had a contract to fulfill. And so, she headed for the train station from which the request came. Apparently she was looking for someone named Albert, seemingly working as the station controller. Thankfully, station employees were all wearing uniforms and thus it wasn't too difficult finding the right person. And once she approached him, she properly introduced herself, as well as stated her business. "Greetings, name's Leila Vergious. I'm mage that's here to take care of your problem." With a sigh of relief, he looked over her caped figure. The fact she was covered with this leather garment, even hiding her face, probably added to her mystery levels that were then transformed into a vision of seemingly powerful mage. After all, mysterious characters in books almost always turn out to be the secret, nearly unbeatable and invulnerable allies that aid you when the situation is most dire. At least that was her logic. And in her head it all sounded completely delightfully, which was all that really mattered.

"Finally someone who seems capable of dealing with this problem! We've already sent several of our burly men to that blockade, but to no avail. That vulcan is just too powerful for normal humans, and that pesky goblin is sneaky and quick! I'm warning you this will be no easy task." Worried for the young girl's life, he tried to actually stop her from taking the contract. But completely missing his point, Leila simply showed him thumbs up. "No need to worry, mister! I swear on my honor that I will get rid of this troublesome blockade and get your tracks back." And with that out of the way, she moved outside the station and hopped onto the trail rails. This was the only time she could move on them without having to worry about being run over some train or other things that would be using these tracks. And her job was to make it so these tracks could work once more, not allowing people to step on them. Sighing, she slowly started moving forward. Honestly, she wasn't all that happy about the fact that she'll probably have to fight a big vulcan and a goblin soon. She would rather play with the gravel that was making the foundation of these tracks than fighting those two. But unfortunately, there was just no way around it. And even as she wanted to finish this whole ordeal as fast as possible, her walk was one of the slowest she could manage. And as she was thinking about how to approach those two, she even managed to trip over the rails.

It took a while, but she would eventually approach an unconscious body, lying next to the train track. His attire suggested that he was some sort of worked, possibly from the train station nearby. Albert did mention that someone was sent here to remove the blockade before after all. And this guy clearly wasn't the only one. At least a dozen men were laying scattered around, all pretty buff workers. But human without any magic was simply not cut for an encounter like this. And not far from here, she saw the infamous duo. A fairly normal vulcan that was staring down at a fairly normal goblin. She knew these creatures well, they lived all across the Earthland and this definitely wasn't her first time seeing them. Vulcans were big, ape-like creatures that were stronger than any man. And yet, they are far from being on the smart side. On the other hand, goblins were small pink creatures that were devilishly cheeky and capable of wielding makeshift weapons. With an audible gulp, she approached the two. And they were quick to see her. But instead of just blindly attacking her, the goblin wobbled forward. "Aha! Another one! Do you have our pies and tubes of sherbert?" He asked her while pointing directly at her face, his voice funnily high-pitched. Trying to resist the urge to smile, Leila only shook her head. Albert forgot to mention it, but she did remember from the request parchment that they wanted these things and to obtain them, they made this blockade in the first place.

The little guy looked rather disappointed at her answer and suddenly picked up a rather sharp looking stick. It was clearly his weapon of choice that he made himself. Starting to wave it around as warning he started protesting. "Well? Are you here to fight just like those other guys? Hm?" The vulcan behind him was visibly getting ready to fight as well. But they were not attacking, only asking. "Actually, no. I'm not here to fight at all." She smiled, removing her hoodie and revealing her face to them. Her answer clearly confused them, as the vulcan started scratching his head and the goblin slowly lowered his stick, his expression completely puzzled. "No... fight?" Asked the vulcan again, probably to confirm. Even the goblin didn't stay silent. "If you're not here to deliver our pies... or to fight at all... why are you here?!" Getting an idea, Leila made a small gesture with her hand and activated one of her abilities without uttering a single word. More specifically, she used her ability to move time in the nature forward. She was quite lucky that this barrier of theirs was made out of tree. And even though the tree itself was dead, as long as it had it's original form and natural magic inside of it, she was capable of altering it. And with that, the giant trunk quickly aged and fell apart just like that. Those two didn't even notice. "Why, I only wanted to ask why are you guarding a blockade that doesn't exist."

She was trying to be smart, making them leave by easily destroying their blockade. Without it, the trains would be able to get through here once again without too much of a trouble, and those two would be forced to leave, defeated without a fight. As they heard her words, they both turned around and fell into shock. They both screamed and started running around, panicking and looking for their little roadblock. Donning her smug expression, Leila got ready to use her victory pause. But before she had the chance to do so, the vulcan started screaming "No, no, no, no!" and ran into the woods that surrounded the track. Goblin only stared at his partner running while standing still. His grip on his weapon loosened as it fell onto the gravel, he himself falling to his knees and tearing up. She suddenly felt a little mean and guilty, as if she took a toy from a small child. But that way of thinking was soon enough completely shattered by an extremely loud crash in the distance. And only in few moments, the vulcan showed himself once again, dragging another uprooted tree behind him. He certainly was strong and moving that thing into the exact same spot where the previous one was seemingly no problem for him. Though, as she looked more closely, he did look a little tired after that. The spark in goblin's eyes was back as he jumped back up and pointed at the new blockade, standing there proudly. "Don't you see? We have the blockade right here! Dont you try lying to us that there is no blockade!"

Frankly dumbfounded, Leila wasn't ready to cast the spell again just yet. Her grand plan to finish this mission was a grand failure and she had to try something different. "Ah... I see. Well, that was all! Thank you for your time, I'll be on my way!" With those words, she abruptly turned the other way and started marching off. Of course, as soon as she was out of their line of sight, she moved into the woods and returned to the blockade, this time hidden in the bushes and behind some trees. Still determined to end this without fighting, she started thinking. What other way there was no make those two leave for good? She didn't know all that much about goblins, or vulcans. Although, she did knew that vulcans were fond of... good looking human females. But trying to pose all sexy like in front of that overgrown ape was definitely out of the question, she hand't sunk that deep yet. And then she got another marvelous idea. Moving a little further away, she made sure that they would not hear her voice when she spoke. And once she had the proper distance between them, she started chanting. "Hold it together, birds of a feather, Nothing but lies and crooked wings. Oh. Fly over me evil angel. Open your wings evil angel." With those words, a purple light created a small circle in the ground in front of her. And from that circle, angel that was under her command, Xiolan rose and stood tall, awaiting Leila's command.

To her advantage, this angel had way more revealing outfit that Leila who was hiding under her large leather coat and hood. A perfect distraction, even her abilities were made to control minds of mortal and immortal creatures that had lust in them. Clapping her hands together, she bowed slightly in front of her summon. "Sorry to bother you with this, but please! Could you try to make that vulcan and goblin leave, not letting him return? Just... talk to him, offer him something, seduce him, I don't care how, just please try." Of course, her pleading mattered little. The angel was bound by powerful seal and had to do carry out Leila's orders, no matter what they were. Even if she was the most rude person under the sun, Xiolan would have to obey. And with a simple nod, the angel was on her way, straight towards that strange duo. Emerging from the trees, they immediately noticed her. The goblin once more picked up his little wooden swords and started moving forward. But the vulcan's reaction was way stronger, seeing the pretty angel, his eyes quite literally transformed into hearts. Almost crushing his partner under his big arms and feet, he hurriedly stumbled towards her. "P..pretty hooman! Pretty hooman!" He screamed as he started circling her. In the meantime, the goblin started scolding him. "Vulcy no! What if she has the pies? You must not crush her with our tubes of sherbert, that's a big no no!"

Xiolan cared little for what they were saying. She had but one goal. As the vulcan approached her, she leaned towards his ear and whispered something. And for a moment, it almost looked as if the vulcan blushed. Not exactly sure if something like that was even possible, Leila watched them from behind a nearby tree, praying that her summon will be able to get them out of there. It seemed that that Vulcy was thinking for a moment and then jumped right in front of the goblin. "Pretty hooman better! No pies, yes hooman!" Questioning his logic as well, Leila wasn't sure if he simply didn't notice those giant wings on Xiolan or if he was just that stupid. But then happened something that she would never ever expect. The goblin started making a sound similar to hiss when Vulcy grabbed him into his big hand. His palm alone was as big as the goblin's entire body, easily making sure that he would not escape from the grip. "Gobly... no hooman get from Vulcy!" He stretched his arm behind his body and then threw the poor little pink creature with full force. Screaming, he flew far, far away and eventually landed somewhere in the forest, not to be seen again. This wasn't exactly how Leila imagined this would go down... but the goblin was gone, probably to never return again. So Xiolan technically did complete her order, even if in a bit unconventional way. Problem was that Vulcy suddenly spotted her as she moved out of her hiding to watch that masterful throw.

"More hooman! Better than... one!" He screamed and started running towards her. He clearly didn't care about pies or clothing anymore, his primal instincts took over after he saw Xiolan. In panic, Leila quickly used another spell, summoning roots underneath the ground and entangling them together so they could rise above the ground as one giant spike. Thankfully she already had timing of this spell nailed down, managing to summon it right under the not so fast vulcan. The pike hit him right in his stomach, rising him far into the air and them launching him even farther when it stopped rising. "Xiolan!" She quickly shouted, not really sure what command she should give her. But just saying her name was clearly enough for her to start acting, or more specifically, to launch an attack with her full force. Spreading her wings, she quickly flew above the flying vulcan and at high speed lunched at him, punching him into his back with both of her fists. But that was only one part of her attack. As she was flying down, she left her hands on him and only accelerated, forcing his body to go down with her and smashing it into the summed spike from before and high speed and with a lot of force. So much force, in fact, that his body smashed the spike into pieces as it was forced into the ground. Xiolan just landed next to her master, who was currently more afraid of her than the enemy. This was the first time she saw her attack like this... this angel was vicious!

Kinda worried about her opponent, Leila started examining the vulcan who was now drilled into the dirt. Thankfully, he was still alive, only unconscious. Which of course also brought up a small question of how tough these things are if he managed to stay alive after being almost impaled twice. Sighing, she bowed towards her angel and released the tie that was keeping her in this worlds, canceling the summon before her time was officially up. With the state of things, she probably wouldn't need her help again. The goblin was probably few kilometers far into the forest, buried in the dirt and Vulcy here was nearly dead, also buried in the dirt. Even if he woke up, she was confident enough that she would beat him by herself. She would probably be capable of defeating anyone who was in such a sorry state. In the meantime, she was ready to use her time commandment again. Approaching the newly placed tree, she placed her hand on it and watched as it slowly started wilting, eventually fading away completely, leaving only ashes behind. Once that was done, her job was technically finished. But she wanted to make sure that those deviants knew that what they did was wrong and that they would never do it again. Sitting on the rails, she waited for few minutes. When the vulcan finally opened his eyes again, he looked around, completely focused. Leila stepped close and pointed at him, her gaze sharp as a knife. "This is what happens when you do bad things! If you want a pie, just approach someone friendly and ask for it nicely! No blockades!" The poor thing nodded with sad expression. "Sowy... Vulcy learn... Vulcy no fight want to." With those words, he started crawling away towards the mountains in the distance.

Happy that she was able to finish her contract so easily, she started walking back towards the station. Her tempo was still very slow, but her step was way more playful than before. Putting the hood back on her head, she started dancing along the tracks as she slowly approached the distant station. Just from one look, it was clear that they were all eagerly waiting for her return. All the trains were really late as it was and this was only adding to their problems. People were ready to start moving things as soon as they would get the information about someone clearing the blockade. Looking at this whole scene, Leila got a rather satisfying feeling in her chest. By beating up two silly creatures, she was able to help so many people. And she didn't even have to kill the culprits, assuming that that goblin managed to survive Vulcy's brutal throw. But she didn't want to bother herself with that, it would only keep her up at the night. And so she decided that he was surely fine, alive and kicking. Looking around, it took her a moment to find Albert. But once she did, he noticed her immediately. A big smile appeared on his face as he spotted her, quickly running towards her. "Miss Vergious, you're back! And you seem unharmed as well! Does that mean you did it? You got rid of those two devils so we can remove the blockade?!" He was excited and hoping that she didn't run away at the sight of those two at the same time. She just smirked and assumed a slightly sassy pose. "Naturally. Those two won't bother you anymore. And I took the liberty and removed that blockade as well while I was at it." Those news were probably the best what he heard the whole day, at least judging by his reaction. He was almost shining how happy he was. "Aaah, I knew that hiring a proper mage was the right call! Oh, do you by any chance know what happened to our other teams?" "Ah, yeah... you should probably send some medics to where the blockade was. Everyone is still alive, but they've certainly been better." She responded, slightly uneasy. In any case, she received her pouch of jewels from Albert and left the station satisfied.
