Clockwork's ♦ Apostle
Magic
Primary Magic: Clockwork's ApostleSecondary Magic: N/A
Caster or Holder: Caster
Description: Demon Slayer is such an ugly phrase. When Mark learned about Tasuruha and what powers the Demon came with, he decided not to call himself a Demon Slayer as so many Mages did, no, he was an Apostle. The Apostle of the Clockwork Demon, Tasuruha. Mark decided that he would finetune his abilities, and that this time, he and Tasuruha would defeat the demons that so peskily haunted them.
Every incarnation of Mark has been a Clockwork's Apostle. Mark is the thirty-fourth incarnation of the Clockwork's Apostle, and with every incarnation came new abilities, new powers for Tasuruha and his Clockwork Child. Many incarnations lose many of the abilities of previous ones, and Mark is no exception. Though there are some abilities that remain constant throughout all of the incarnations. One of these is a body made out of metal. Though not an ability of the magic itself, every incarnation of the Clockwork Child thus far has had a body made of metal, it is, after all, a distinguishing feature of the Clockwork Child is this metallic frame. Using the abilities of Tasuruha, the Clockwork Child can manipulate metal, including their own body, though this too is not an ability of the Clockwork's Apostle magic itself, these are just abilities that come with being the Clockwork's Child.
There is one way in which Clockwork's Apostle is distinct from other forms of Slayer magic. Most Slayers use abilities taught to them by their Dragon/God/Demon mentor, Mark simply accesses the abilities of the Demon that resides within him. The distinguishing feature of Clockwork's Apostle is the black markings that appear on the user's body when they over-exert themselves, or when they will it so. These markings indicate that the spirit of Tasuruha surfacing, strengthening Mark with his soul.
Like most Slayers, Mark can consume his element, except he does it similarly than most Slayers do. Most Slayers must consume their element using their mouth, essentially eating it. Mark is very different. Upon touching metal, black markings creep up the metal, and it dissolves in black light, becoming a part of Mark. This is done because Mark has no actual ingestive system, so the Clockwork's Apostle has an alternate manner of recovering their magical energies.
Like most Slayers, Mark's magic focuses on the creation and manipulation of his element--metal. He uses his metallic body to his advantage, often basing spells around his own metallic physique. Other times, he'll use the area of effect attacks that so many Slayers are all too familiar with, and he also enjoys molding his own weapons with his own hands out of blinding with steel, it's one of his favorite things to do with the magic. Other times still, he'll create the all out offensive attacks that many Slayers base their entire fighting style around. Mark's fighting style is based around buffs and weapons, he'll buff himself as much as he possibly can, then destroy his opponents with a sword molded out of his own magic.
Strengths:
♦ A Clockwork Bolstered: The Clockwork's Apostle is very proficient in buffing both themselves and their allies, though most of the magic's spells generally focus around buffing the user of the magic.
♦ A Clockwork Forged: The Clockwork's Apostle is extremely in creating weapons just like those summoned by a Requip mage, complete with passive and active abilities.
♦ A Clockwork Spawned: The Clockwork's Apostle can create summons that somehow see, to be sentient, that seem to have their own minds. They are given this sentience by the strength of Tasuruha.
Weaknesses:
♦ A Clockwork Excluded: Mark cannot consume the metal created by a God Slayer, despite being able to consume all other forms of it.
♦ A Clockwork Melted: Magma is the greatest elemental weakness to metal. It can easily melt through Mark's spells. His spells must be of greater rank than a magma spell to beat them in a direct clash.
♦ A Clockwork Attraction: Electricity is drawn towards metal, and will easily be conducted through the user's spells, rending defensive spells useless against electric spells.
♦ A Clockwork Solitary: Most of Mark's spells focus on himself, he has a hard time assisting his allies in combat.

Description:
Demons have existed since the beginning of time. Gods and demons. Good and evil. Locked in an eternal struggle for power, Gods and Demons have been waging wars ever since they have existed, getting innocent beings caught in the crossfire. The Gods fighting for order and all that is good in the world, while the Demons fought for nothing but complete chaos.
But there is always an anomaly. Tasuruha. A demon just as old as any other, Tasuruha never believed in the chaotic ways of his brethren. He didn't fight in any of the Omnipotence Wars, he hid. Hid from the reality that was his race, hid from the fact that he was never destined to anything other than chaos, war, destruction. Tasuruha did not believe his fate was set in stone, he believed that he could be a God.
But Tasuruha was not all-powerful, like all demons, he has one specific dominion. Tasuruha is the Demon of the Clockwork, the Metal Demon. And so, his ultimate creation was a bit... unorthodox, to say the least. To prove to himself that he was a God, Tasuruha created life. He created the Clockwork Child, a living being, with a body made entirely of clockwork.
Tasuruha knew he had to hide his creation, the other Demons would banish him, perhaps even kill him, if they discovered his creation. For years, the child stayed hidden, doing as Tasuruha commanded, but there came a day when curiosity got the better of him, and he left his quarters. He wasn't gone for even five minutes when he was caught. Noting that this was Tasuruha's handiwork, the other demons confronted him about the child. Tasuruha refused to acknowledge that he had created the Clockwork Child. Unfortunately, he never was a very good liar. The other demons didn't buy into it, and Tasuruha was banished, with nothing but the Clockwork Child to accompany him.
The pair soon discovered that the world was cruel to a demon and his metal-skinned companion, and so Tasuruha had an idea. Tapping into the reserves of his power he would regularly never even dare to access, Tasuruha was able to create a thin organic veil for his Clockwork Child, masking him and making him look like any regular human. Taking into this dormant power had consequences, however, it cost Tasuruha his own physical body. He was nothing more than a spirit. And so, he hid in the body of his own child.
The Gods and the Demons both observed Tasuruha's journey, each of them granting something to the pair. The Demons gave Tasuruha and his child the curse of mortality, they were doomed to die eventually. But the Gods gave them the gift of rebirth. Whenever the child died, he would be reborn, and Tasuruha's spirit would eternally accompany him.
Mark is the thirty-fourth incarnation of the Clockwork Child. Some lived to old age, some died as mere children. Like each incarnation, Mark looks different and uses different magic, but inside, he is still made of metal, and the spirit of Tasuruha still resides within him. Though Mark himself cannot access memories of his previous life, Tasuruha still stores all of them.- Matter of Style:
- Two Souls || One Body: Mark and Tasuruha live in parallel, two souls occupying one body. Mark is the dominant one, taking control of the body most of the time, but Tasuruha speaks to him in his head. The catch is, Tasuruha can only communicate with Mark once he discovers that he's not human.
One Body || Limitless Potential: The synthetic skin that covers up Mark's clockwork body is easily modified with magic, so he can take on any form he wants, as long as it's humanoid in shape. Taking the form of other player characters requires OOC permission. Mark cannot take on the abilities of any forms he takes.
Two Souls || Many Lives: The Gods gifted Mark and Tasuruha with reincarnation. Whenever they die, they are reborn ina new body, with a new look and new magic, but retaining the same clockwork core.
Inner Workings: Mark is able to touch anything with some sort of complex system that operates it and instantly know exactly how it operates. He's also able to fix most broken machinery with a touch of his hand. Conversely, he can break most kinds of machinery just by touching it for a few seconds.
Tick Tock: Mark has an impeccable sense of time due to being made of clockwork, he always knows the right time, right down to the millisecond. Also, if you listen to him closely enough, you'll hear the faint tick-tocking of a clock.
- Abilities & Usage:
Synthetic Skin: The synthetic skin that masks Mark's inner workings has some really neat abilities. The most important of these abilities is how it acts as a type of armor. Mark's skin can take a single hit of Mark's rank (up to S-Rank). Any damage above Mark's rank immediately shatters the skin, but will not overflow. Any shattered skin regenerates after 5 posts. The Synthetic Skin is also very elastic. This is passive.
Demonsteel: The metal that constitutes Mark's body is made of a special material called Demonsteel, which can only be produced by the demon Tasuruha. Demonsteel is not edible by any slayers, and does a couple of really important things. First of all, it can mend itself, giving Mark a healing factor of 3% of his total HP, following normal regenerative rules. Second of all, it makes him 40% stronger and faster. Third of all, anyone that touches Demonsteel gets burned, losing 10% of their HP (5% per post) for two posts after touching any kind of Demonsteel. A person is immune to the effect for one post after it has worn off. Last of all, it makes him twice as vulnerable to Demon Slayer Magic, it deals double damage to him. This is passive.
Master of Metal: Mark has complete dominion over the element of metal. He can manipulate any metal (of his rank) that isn't made by someone's magic, and can create metal at will as well. Any metal created or manipulated by Mark does damage equal to his rank in melee damage. Because of this, Mark can also manipulate his own clockwork body to change his shape. This metal cannot be used to block spells, only 5 items may be created at a time, and each item has HP equal to 1/3 of Mark's total HP, though if he has more than 3 things made, that HP decreases to 1/5 of Mark's total HP. If Mark rips open his Synthetic Skin to make way for metal he manipulated, it regenerates the second the metal recedes. Anything created by Mark is made of Demonsteel, but things simply manipulated by him are not. Mark is capable of creating fully functioning metallic apparatuses with this ability, such as mechanical wings. Anything he creates an be destroyed with two hits equivalent to a spell of his rank. This is passive.
A Clockwork Silver: Being made of a special kind of metal and having the spirit of a metal demon inside of him, metallic weapons are passively 30% less effective towards Mark. Additionally, once per thread, Mark can project an aura with a radius of 50 meters. Any magical weapons of or below Mark's rank within this 50 meter aura lose their magical properties, and their damage output is lowered to that of a Weak weapon (or staying at what it was before, if the weapon was weaker than that). This aura lasts 5 posts and affects allies as well as well as enemies.
One Body || Two Souls: Though Mark is the dominant soul in the body shared by him and Tasuruha, Tasuruha has the ability to take over, once per thread. Tasuruha's dominance can last up to 5 posts, and when he takes over, Mark's appearance is altered. His eyes turn a deep scarlet color, his hair turns a bleached white color, and his teeth become slightly pointed. While Tasuruha is out, he is incapable of using Mark's magic, whatever that may be. Instead, he gains a silver aura similar to the 'Spirit Warrior' lineage, and follows all the same rules:
Upon usage, the user loses the ability to cast any of their magic abilities. Instead, for once per thread and for 5 posts or until destroyed they can manipulate their spirit aura to fight their foes in a variety of ways like a puppet. The aura protects the user from all damage but will take it itself. The spirit is vulnerable and not affected by armor or defensive abilities, having the default HP of the user’s rank. If the spirit is destroyed the user will take 50% of their current HP in damage. All damage it deals is the user’s rank in spell damage.
- Slayer Buffs:
General rule on slayers:
All slayers receive the following:
♦ 10% Buff to physical stats(strength, speed etc)
♦ 10% Buff to senses(hearing, smell etc)
♦ The ability to enter force after consuming enough of the element
♦ The ability to consume their element to regain MP
♦ A resistance to their element shown by the following chart:
♦ 2 ranks above: 0%
♦ 1 rank above: 10%
♦ Same rank: 25%
♦ 1 rank below: 30%
♦ 2 ranks below: 50%
Demon Slayers can eat any form of their own element, pure and mixed. However, they cannot consume the element of their God Slayer counterpart. The colour of Demon Slayer Magic is a white version of the element's natural color.
The form of elemental magic they use is light, on the other end of the magical spectrum. The element of light is being mixed with the other elements to alter their properties slightly. The Hell Demon Slayer uses an blessed form of darkness that is beyond a Dragon Slayer's ability to consume. Deals double damage towards Darkness, Demon, and Undead type non-human beings.
♦ First Gen. Demon Slayers have learned the magic from the Demon of their respective element.
♦ Demon Force:
A Slayer must consume at least 70% magical energy from his respective element in order to achieve Force, however, their total magical energy must equal to 150% or higher. In other words, the Slayer can still use magic, but if it does not equal to at least 150% magical energy after consuming 70% magical energy, they must consume an appropriate amount to reach it. If the Slayer can achieve this within the next 5 posts, Force is activated. If they cannot, the magical energy is rapidly consumed by the Slayer's body, causing any magical energy that was above their maximum to go down to the max. The Slayer can then try to do this again, if the opportunity is there.
Demon Force highly increases the power of the Demon Slayer's magic, physical endurance, speed, and strength by 30% rather than 10%.
The spell power of each rank is increased to 150%.
In Demon Force, the Slayer gains an aura of their element that engulfs their body. Physical attacks deal status effects from their respective element. ( Frostbite, Burn, Poison, etc.)
During Demon Force the Slayer does not lose any mp from casting spells, but after it wears off is left with 5% mp.
Lasts for 7 posts.
- A Clockwork Reborn:
Mark is the latest and greatest incarnation of the Clockwork Child, and his abilities reflect that. Unlike most Slayers (as well as previous iterations of the Child), he does not have to eat his element in order to gain magic energy from it. Instead, a simple touch will envelop the metal in black markings, and it will almost immediately dissolve, funneling into Mark's body and granting magical energy. This ability still follows elemental consumption guidelines.
- A Clockwork Forceful:
Combining the strength of both Mark and Tasuruha, they created a type of magic that provides some of the strongest buffs known the magic, as well as being able to create some of the strongest weapons. Any and all buffs cast by the Clockwork's Apostle retain their full effectiveness regardless of rank, an ability of the Metal Demon himself. Additionally, any weapons created with Clockwork's Apostle gain an extra passive ability. However, there is a drawback to this. Mark's spells cost 5% more MP than normal (does not apply to signature spells) and as long as he has a buff active, his Requip spells are incapable of using his second passive. Additionally, when he is using a requip weapon, any buffs cast during its duration go back to normal effectiveness.
- A Clockwork Ever-Changing:
At the beginning of any thread, Mark has a number of gears hovering around him equal to his ranks. 1 gear at D-Rank, 2 at C-Rank, etc. In addition to being able to block one hit equal to Mark's rank in damage each (though a spell can only be blocked once every two posts), these gears can be used to channel spells, when a spell is cast through a gear, its effectiveness is increased by 50%. This can stack up to two times, however, when a gear is used for this purpose, it will dissolve into black dust. One gear regenerates every 3 posts and they cap at a number equal to Mark's rank.
- A Clockwork Corrupted:
Every spell that Mark casts begins to corrupt his skin, leaving black marks. These have a variety of effects depending on their severity. The spell count refreshes every 5 posts.
1 Spell: The marks are faint and not particularly widespread. They increase Mark's physical attributes (speed and strength) by 10%.
2 Spells: The marks are more visible, but not particularly widespread. They increase Mark's physical attributes (speed and strength) by 20% and the effectiveness (spell damage and range) of his spells by 10%.
3 Spells: The marks are visible and wipespread. They increase Mark's physical attributes (speed and strength) by 25% and the effectiveness (spell damage and range) of his spells by 20%.
4 Spells: The marks are a distinguishing feature of mark at this point. They increase Mark's physical attributes by 25% (speed and strength) and the effectiveness (spell damage and range) of his spells by 25%. He can also manipulate the marks to forms weapons that deal melee damage equal to that of a strong weapon.
5 Spells: The marks have made Mark completely different, turning his hair and eyes black. They increase Mark's physical attributes (speed and strength) by 25% and the effectiveness of his spells by 25% (spell damage and range). He can also manipulate the marks to forms weapons that deal melee damage equal to that of a strong weapon, and the metal from his spells turns black as opposed to white, his spells also have the darkness attribute.
- A Clockwork Momentum:
Using his magic, the magic that make Mark's body function is naturally super-charged. He is naturally 25% faster than normal. Addtionally, once per thread, he can even further supercharge himself to make himself twice as fast as the norm (does not apply the previous buff) for 3 posts.
