As the drill sergeant-like driving instructor came in and rattled on about the antique Kihia had been referring to, Dmitry stood up with an irritated expression on his face. "Hey, who's this punk?" He rudely question, oblivious to the uniform the man was wearing.
"Oh don't worry about him, dear," said a kindly old lady who was walking behind the more gruff instructor. "He's just a bit too serious about his job. Now, let's get started shall we." Upon saying this, the elder woman led Dmitry to another, slightly newer magic cycle with a side car attached. Like the antique, however, it still had an SE plug like the one Kihia showed him earlier.
"Alright dear, just sit down on the bike, slip on the SE plug, and switch on the engine." The old woman said as she sat down in the side car and put on her helmet, along with a seat belt.
What followed on thait driving course will not be repeated for the purposes of public safety.
As the magic cycle rolled back from the course, it was clear that something drastic had happened. The side car was clearly ground down on one side, like the result of ramming against a wall, and there were numerous dents and scrapes all along the bike itself. The driving instructor looked as though she had just witnessed a world war, shuddering in her seat and mumbling to herself. Dmitry on the other hand appeared to be thrilled, apparantly having discovered something amazing.
"Damn that's fun! That things even faster than Alsvinder!" He shouted, referring to the horse spirit he used to ride. "Alright, how'd I do? It's fine if I didn't pass this time, cause I'm gonna keep on comin' back till I do!" The statement seemed to fill the woman with even more horror then was already evident on her face, a remarkable feat in of itself. "O-oh, you did just fine dear!" She said, panic clear in her voice as she handed him a certificate, stating his status as a legal driver. "You go on ahead and get your license, that way you won't ever have to come here again, not as long as I live...please..."
