It was a sunny day out in Magnolia, even if it was in the midst of winter. It seemed like spring just couldn't wait to arrive. Since he'd had one last birthday with his mother before he'd disobeyed her and left home; he had plenty of money for the road. It had been a good thing to, the journey from his mom's house in Terra Ignis was a long one, especially since it was up in the mountains.
He'd been all around the nation of Fiore, and gotten in trouble a few times with adults to boot. Since an 11 year old traveling alone was bound to raise suspicion. He barely could go into a convenience store without someone asking where his parents were. It was annoying to no end. They should just get out of Haru's way or help him. Sometimes grown ups seemed to be over concerned, maybe he'd understand when he got older.
Walking with his hands in his pockets and his usual serious expression, he looked over his shoulder in the air above him to spot none other than, Rose. The family Exceed who had been a partner to both his Grandfather, Heero, and his Mother, Hera. He got a slightly annoyed look but continued to walk without saying a word to her as she flew behind him.
He didn't need a baby sitter. He'd get himself out of any trouble he got himself into. Eventually, he rounded onto Dragonbane avenue, a street named after his grandfather's old Master, and founder of Fairy Tail. The mage who took Heero in when he had nowhere to go and had lost his dragon and parents both.
"I wonder if the legends about all these old guys is true...." he said to himself as he walked forward, forward still. A building grew in the forefront of his vision. It's shining symbol on it's railed balcony emblazoned into his mind; since his mother had it on her right shoulder all throughout his life; he often asked her about the symbol and what it meant. For awhile, she wouldn't tell him, but eventually she told him about the Guilds when his magic began to surface.
Eventually, he stood just in front of the front lawn of Fairy Tail with his hands in his pockets as Rose flew down onto the ground. She was oddly quiet as she stared at the building.
"Nothing to say?" Haru spoke without looking at her as he just stared at the building. When she didn't respond, he glanced down at her and saw....tears. Rose was crying. This upset Haru as even though he was always distant and rude; he cared for Rose almost more than anything else. This Exceed's toughness and adult knowledge was the only thing that kept him safe on the road at times, and in random hotels all alone; he'd only sleep when she was in he room. "R-Rose." he said as he picked her up, something he only did very rarely. She shook it off and nodded.
"Sorry, I just get choked up seeing this place again....it's just." he nodded to her as she climbed up on his shoulder.
"No more crying OK? God I can't stand it." he said slipping his hands back into his pocket. Just then a sharp smack from her tail came onto the back of his head as she sat on his shoulder. Looks like she was back to her normal self. "Hey what the f---" as he was about to curse he saw her eyes go red as if she dared him to say the next word. He was still 11 so he just let out a 'hmph' and walked up to the doors of Fairy Tail.
As soon as he entered, he was hit with the sound of noise and talking. He looked around, as his usual calm and unimpressed face belied an excited heart and soul. He was here. He looked around before a couple of older girls approached him. He took his eyes off their bodies and furrowed his brow a bit as they leaned down.
Handsome, Adorable, When he gets older! Oh my goodness!
"Silence women, direct me to the guildmaster of this place immediately." his eyebrows lowered a little bit. As one of the girls shrieked.
"You little shit!!! Who are you calling WOMAN!" she retorted.
"Alright...then Sir it is. So direct me towards the guildmaster then, sir." Haru got a smirk for the first time today as the other girl laughed at the one confronting him. At that moment he felt guilty as Rose crossed her arms, standing behind him down below and shook her head. Turning back with a sigh he rolled his eyes a bit. "I'm only joking....I hope one day I can find a beautiful lady like you two....but is the guildmaster here or not? I don't have time to waste looking for her so if you know where she is, tell me."
The girls seemed to appreciate his change in attitude and began looking around the guild hall for someone. Eventually though, a huge crowd of people began to surround Rose and eventually someone screamed with excitement at seeing the red furred Exceed in here once more. A crowd rushed her, scooped her up like she'd won a championship and began berating her with questions about Hera and where they'd ran off too---Haru being completely ignored. Which irritated him to no end.
Balling up his fist he could only stand there and wait for everyone to calm down, an angry look on his face somewhat.
