Special Characteristics:
Personality:
- Personality:
- Juliana, aka Jules, has had memory loss ever since five years ago, when she woke up in a strange, metallic place with no clue of her own identity or how she had gotten there. It was soon revealed that she was completely alone except for Alice (Lissy), an extra spirit or persona that resides inside Jules’s mind and often helps her out by explaining what is going on. In this case, Lissy could only tell Jules her full name and that they were alone and had been for only a short time. In general, Jules is quite skittish and timid, often keeping her mouth clamped tightly shut unless addressed first by someone else. However, when able to break out of her shell (usually after being convinced to do so by Lissy or a friendly person), she is altogether very sweet, despite lacking in confidence. Cynicism is something that Jules rarely understands, along with sarcasm. She has a naïve sort of mind, but it is accompanied by a dark secret which only herself and Lissy are aware of.
There is some sort of rare illness that has struck Juliana’s body and causes her to have several symptoms, none of them positive. It is unknown what has caused this, but it is most likely magic related, as the two visited a healing nymph and as long as they stayed, all of the effects of the sickness were erased. Unfortunately, it was only temporary and the wonderful feeling of being free from the ailment disappeared as soon as Jules took a step out of the boundaries of the nymph’s home. In general, she enjoys listening and doing her best to resolve any issues peacefully, without arguments. Nonetheless, despite her sweet attitude towards her friends, Jules struggles with insecurity and is often very bitter with Lissy and while thinking to herself, considering herself to be useless and surely not worth anything (because of her illness).
In battle, Juliana does her best to conceal any fear or uncertainty, since she wants to appear as brave as possible to help out her comrades and not seem like the weak link. She will fight with all of her strength, taking down as many enemies as possible and refusing to be a burden for her allies. Rather than being the one who is saved, Jules wishes to be doing the saving. She can function fairly well under a leader and will almost always obey commands without hesitation, trusting that her elders or more experienced comrades know full well what they are doing and understand the repercussions of their actions. However, if she believes that unnecessary violence is taking place or that her commander is corrupted in some way, Jules is not afraid to speak up against it. Despite her shy personality, she is passionate about being fair to all.
As a leader herself, Jules may struggle with giving orders, but her confidence can be bolstered by even a single person telling her that they trust her and believe that she can do the job. Despite her lapses in self-esteem, the mage has a strong moral compass and a good ability to judge when fighting is necessary. She makes a decent leader and can make tactical decisions while thoroughly checking that all actions taken are the most peaceful and just ways to go about doing something. Still, though, Jules relies perhaps a bit too heavily on her friends as a leader and trusts very much in their advice.
- Likes:
- *Lissy - Since she created The Box in the first place and has always done her best to protect Jules from the horrors inside, the mage loves Lissy very much (despite her being an interloper in her mind).
*Companionship - Jules cannot stand to be alone. When Lissy is sleeping and she is still awake, alone in her room, it is a terrifying thing. Companions protect and assist each other, something that is crucial in Jules’s mind.
*Chocolate Chip Cookies - These remind her of home for some reason, although she can’t remember why. Maybe her mum made them for her every day, but either way they make her feel safe and comforted.
*Photography - Photos represent memories and things that happened. They keep people from forgetting important times together, especially with allies and friends. Therefore, they are wonderful.
- Dislikes:
- *Being Sick - Although for the most part, the creatures inside The Box are unable to affect Jules, there are still other parts of her illness that Lissy cannot help with except for with words. These include occasional fainting and drowsiness, frequent nausea, and unmistakable, violent shivers of cold whenever not wearing a heavy or thick coat.
*The Box - Inside The Box reside a variety of unknowns, the great majority of which are absolutely ghoulish and terrifying. This is the storage place for all the disgusting, creeping sickness-induced creatures that hide in the crevices of Jules’s mind. Lissy collects them and locks them inside The Box.
*The Ocean - The sea is a wide, open place, with no safe place to hide. It is also basically endless and makes it far too easy to get lost while one is out in the open waters.
*Being Alone - Just as much as she requires companionship, Jules is deathly terrified of being left completely alone, without Lissy or her friends. Anything or anyone could reach her and do harm to her, even if the monsters originate from her own mind.
- Motivations:
- *Healing Herself - Someday, Jules wants to get better and not have the awful waves of nausea, freezing cold, and hallucinations and nightmares that stalk her own mind.
*Safety - She desires safety from her fears and from her sickness.
*Friends - Jules adores her friends and will care for them no matter what. Although she considers herself to be a burden often times, she will fight to protect her comrades even if it is an uphill war.
*Money - Oh, money money money. This is somewhat of a strange one, as a person may think that it would conflict with Jules's precise ethics, but she is more than a bit greedy when it comes to money. Lissy has told her countless times over that with enough jewels, they could maybe get some sort of healing device or magic emitting object that could permanently remove all symptoms of her sickness. Wouldn't that be amazing?
- Fears:
- *The Box - One day, the lock on The Box will break, and Lissy won’t be able to rein in the nightmarish monsters. Jules fears this day and hopes it will never come.
*Sailing - Being on a ship with only a small crew (or even just with a crowd) unnerves Jules to the point of her having panic attacks. It just seems so likely that she would to trip and fall, toppling over the side of the railing of something. The next step would of course be drowning or being eaten alive by monsters.
*Swimming - Swimming is almost worse than sailing, because she would be an even smaller dot in the giant space that is the ocean. It would be far too easy to drown, become separated from her friends, or be stolen away by a vicious sea serpent.
*Death - Surprisingly, a great many people are not afraid of death and instead only fear that they will not complete their goals before they die. For Jules, this is not the case. She would prefer to simply go about her everyday life in a complacent and safe manner where it is unlikely that she will die before “her time”.

- Appearance:
- Physically, Juliana is a rather petite girl who has skinny limbs and a possibly sickly complexion, if it weren’t for the almost always present smile on her face. Her skin is almost translucent with its thin delicacy, similar to that of a soft, smooth paper in durability. However, she rarely shows any skin except for the lower half of her arms, the front of her neck, and her face. As far as her features and expressions go, Jules has thin lips but expressive eyes, accompanied with softly flushed cheeks and a round jawline. Her coloring can easily and immediately turn beet-red when embarrassed, as she blushes with relative ease.
For clothing, it rarely varies so long as the climate she is currently residing in or visiting is fairly temperate. In sweltering to mildly cool conditions, her attire consists of a very pale periwinkle blue, cotton dress with an empire waist and a wide, ruffled hemline that barely sweeps below her knees. The dress itself fastens down the front with small, practical white buttons and has a pattern of white rings all over it. The circles become smaller as they move up the dress, so the tiniest ones are near her neckline, which is a scoop. A strip of plain leather is wound around the gathering of the empire waist as a sort of belt, and she also has a thin leather cord that droops slightly below it. On this cord is tied a red ribbon, which hangs down in the center of her dress, perhaps a bit to her left side.
In addition, she almost always wears a suede, sheepskin lined coat with slanted, wide sleeves which end above the elbow. It remains open most of the time, and all edges are covered with more soft, fluffy fur. There also happens to be a hood (lined with the same fur), and the coat is secured around Jules with a brown catch which fastens around her neck. Her left arm rarely goes through the armhole and instead remains tucked inside the coat, while her right arm simply hangs down next to her side per typical usage of a coat. Around both of her forearms are brown criss-crossing wrappings, with a horizontal strip for the top and bottom cuff of the upper wrapping and a single strip for the lower one. Tall brown socks with yellower, slouchy brown boots cover her toes and lower legs. The back of the coat hangs down in gradual V-Shape and is adorned simply with a red zig-zag line and red dots in the center of the back, going around the waist.
As for colder climates, she typically switches her thin coat out for a much thicker version, at the same time exchanging her relatively lightweight dress for a thicker wool version. No matter what, Jules carries around a dark to medium blue chronicle, which is sealed shut with gold clasps and has golden adornments. It is often worn across her body, similar to the way many people tote bookbags or purses.- Spoiler:
