Ghost Biker! - Job

Rei held a map in her hands as she walked through the dirty streets of Motor City. The air smelled like motor oil and the sky had been clouded by pollution. only dim street lights seemed to light the way. She was looking for a shop, a small street shop they had taken a job for. In terms of the 'we' she had asked if Elyx would help her out on her first job, so she could start to get the hang of how they worked so she could venture off on her own eventually. She stopped abruptly, turning the map in multiple directions trying to figure out where the shop was. it was to o much for her short patience to handle. "TSK!" she gritted her teeth, ripping the corner off the map by accident. "I can't find this damn shop!" she cursed, her foot tapping impatiently. "where the hell is it!?" she looked around, finding all the side shops within eyesight of where they were appeared to be closed. "what street are we even on!?" she stretched out the now ripped map, trying to take another look.

Er... Rei... We're still in Black Rose... Elyx would explain, standing awkwardly as the crowd around the both of them would stare, mainly due to the reaction that the girl had given. Most newbies did not start off jobs in the same fashion that she did. They were reclusive normally, very quiet and humble. This girl, she practically got the attention of Lavantir Port. Being an Ace, they won't judge her while he was in front of them. But there were better ways of asking. Fortunately, Ignite was not here to fuel the fire. She was still reading up on rifles, the She Phoenix had an addiction with them. Anyways, it is not like there is any chaos here either. There are bound to be customers that are scared if we do find the store. He would explain, placing his palms behind his head and looking up to the sky, a smile forming on his lips. Not a cloud in the sky, but a gentle wind. A tasty one in fact. It looked to be a lovely day, a sure sign that this job should not have many complications.

Rei sighed once again at her own stupidity. she put her palm on her face, then dragged it down her cheek. On the inside she did feel a bit embarrassed, but didn't really let it show. she just glared at anyone who dared to make eye contact with her. she knew she couldn't just attack random citizens, at this point if she heard someone whisper something about her, she might just lose it.

"Well... I guess your right" her sentence got quieter as she said it, its not like she had a big ego, she just liked to be right. She was in no such position at the moment sadly, since she was the one that was supposed to be learning right now. no matter how much she hated someone being in charge of her, she had to just deal with it for now.

Her thoughts were cut off when around the corner of the street they were walking, a bunch of boxes were thrown their way, fallowed by civilians running and screaming. "that must be the shop?" she asked Elyx who was standing just behind her.

That looks like it could be the place. Lets check it out for ourselves, now shall we? Elyx would announce, pacing towards the shop. It felt kind of badass to just walk past the people screaming and running for their lives. It was as if they were trying to run away from a nuclear explosion, and he was walking into it, knowing that it was unable to stop him. As they continue to run, one of them would bump into him and fall onto the ground. Seems like trying to shove people out of the way for his own life was not going to get the man very far. Elyx just ignored the man and continued to talk. Before he would actually enter the shop, he would look back to see if Rei were behind him. The goal was to keep her safe, meaning he had no right to lose her. A fortunate thing about her though was that despite seemingly hating to follow others, she was obedient when it came to just that. She knew his role and that he had experience, that alone will get her far in life. Whether it be an enemy or a friend, if she knows the differences in power, she can advance without being harmed.

Rei followed Elyx around the corner, trying not to bump into oncoming people as they were running away from whatever was around the bend. She managed to catch up with him and be side by side, she even went in front of him just by a foot or so. The adrenaline was rushing through her , the need for action making it hard for her to keep herself from smiling too much. As her grin widened, she could see a taller rather bulky classical thug looking man holding a terrified person by the collar of his throat. Rei didn't bother to look at Elyx, she knew she could at least take out this guy. Even though he didn't seem to be their main target, no ghost biker could be seen. At least not yet. "I can take him" she said almost plainly just to give Elyx a heads up, she broke into a sprint lifting her fist into the air. The thug had no time to react as she hit him square in the jaw making him drop his victim as he fell into a bunch of boxes storing food. He didn't seem unconscious just yet, Rei took a moment to stand and shake her hand before turning her attention back to him.

A smile would reveal as she would charge at one of the bandits. He'd proceed to continue towards the gang. They were in the way, thus they should evacuate if they dare not have a scratch. A ghost will not be able to resist against magic, which is designed to be both physical and spiritual. A ghost should know that in a world full of mages, thus should be the one to run away once they are spotted by him. However, it seems as he walked, a path was clearing for him. Now why was this happening? There was a magic presence around him, and an unfortunate flaw about him was that he had not yet learned how to conceal his magic. Not only was it known, but it was too intense and would warn the enemies that he was arriving. What an annoyance, he did not get to have very much fun if he were to be treated this way. To entertain himself, he'd look back on the battle to see how Rei was doing.

Rei delivered a final punch to the man she was dealing with before she saw a few men behind her. She knew Elyx could kill all these monsters in one swipe, but what would be the fun in that? She wanted to learn through expirience and if he just blasted through everything for her. She would never learn or progress or get stronger. She wasn't that type of person anyways, the one who leans on whatever they can to just bullshit their way through every situation. Rei was very independent, and hated not to do anything that she found productive. She could see Elyx through the mass of enemies and hoped he would keep his distance until things got out of hand. Rei finally managed to get a hold on the four weaker ones and made them hit heads with each other, sending them to the ground unconscious.

'Monster Dice' :

They were coming for him, some of the bandits were arriving. He would close his eyes to blink before opening his eyes again, his light brown eyes turning to a bright purple. The light from his eyes would shine so much, striking major intimidation. That was just a first step, lowering their confidence and their defenses. Some still had the nerve to charge to him though, running towards him. In response, he unsheathed Bound Iris, his sword, and extended it using the "World's Access" ability of it. This allowed it to extend from the original ten meters that it stretched to a destructive 100 meters around him. And with this, you will all fall! Elyx would announce, his body blurring due to his increased speed. With just a few quick movements that all occurred in a second at the most, the bodies of the bandits around him would all fall. They weren't dead, he just struck them hard enough to knock them out. Rei and her bandit would be left, he did not want to risk hurting her.

Rei covered her eyes as a gust of wind that wasn't strong enough to knock her over because she was outside its main radius, after the dust had settled, she noticed the body of every last bandit lying on the ground. all of which were unconscious, Rei folded her arms and narrowed her eyes and Elyx "really?" she tsk'd at him, she knew he wasn't the type to be a showoff... but she still had to admit him using his magic in any way imminently turned into a show, at least that's how she felt. dammit this guy was seemed so humble all the time. "you could've saved some of the enemies for me!" she retorted, groaning in frustration. and not less than seconds after, more bandits began running up the hill. As if she had jinxed herself, she threw herself into the battle this time. she wanted to take out this round of enemies, and by being in the middle Elyx couldn't do that spell without hurting her. Which seemed to be his top priority at the moment.

'Monster Dice' :

He sighed as the enemies would arrive on the scene, even two deadly looking spirit bikers that seemed to want to play along with them. It was a special scene, for a B ranked mage. But now, they looked pitiful. Rei seemed to want to throw herself into the crowd again. Does he let her go and take them all on? Nope. That would kill her, and he had no interest in letting her die in battle. With one simple snap of the finger, he would put them all into a "Perfect Paralysis" state. All of them, all of the enemies would be frozen in place, confused and unable to fight back. The boss monsters as well, but then he would look over to Rei instead of carry out a spell. They are open for your attacks. Want to show me your strength? Elyx would announce before placing his hands in his pockets, a smile on his face. His light brown orbs would lock onto her if she did continue to fight. If not, well, that depends on what she does.

Rei was yet again disappointed at how now all the enemies were frozen in place, it wasn't even a fair fight. but...practically every fight she got in was always unfair to her disadvantage, so technically she should be grateful even though it only made her mad on the inside not being able to do it the way she wanted to. She turned to see Elyx with his hands in his pockets and a smile on his face. But when he asked to see what she could do... She had to put all her effort in to at least try to impress an H ranked mage standing before her to watch. "fine, I'll show you!" she popped her neck and wiggled out her shoulders and popped her knuckles, and getting into a running stance as if she was about to start a race. She activated her Self Sense spell, Boosting her strength as well as activating her lineage. Increasing her strength to by 40%, and her speed by 50%, she flew through all of the stationary enemies hitting one repeatedly until she knew without the spell they wouldn't dare get up, as she moved on to the higher ranking monsters however it did take her more hits to bring down those. She moved on to the even stronger enemies, who she was in the process of beating up. practically just throwing punches and kicks to places she knew would hurt the most.

Well, seeing them hunch over and collapse one by one, his vision being able to comprehend it all, was quite an interesting sight to say the least. It was not very often that he saw someone resort to something like that, but it was effective at least. The weaker ones were all going down one by one, but the masters that ruled over them have yet to do anything unfortunately. They seemed to just be watching from a safe distance, a smart move. Or possibly stupid since they did not make any escape, meaning they probably were waiting to be left alone for battle, a fatal mistake that would cost them dearly. Still though, he would clap his hands to commend Rei for what she had done to them, despite what she did being low blows only. Though he could dodge her speed and attempts at low-blowing him, he was not going to diss her regardless. Well done. Think you can take out the last two enemies over there? They look like the real deal.

"psh, hell yeah I can!" Rei chuckled as she ran at full force towards the two giant bikers. she put her head down to head butt one of them in the gut, but she never came intact with flesh, instead she hit the wall of a nearby shop. her head making the cement crack. she pulled herself free from the wall, her head starting to bleed down her face. she blinked the blood out of her eye and wiped her nose. she should've considered this might happen with them being called 'ghost bikers'. She spit at the ground, and charged again at the opposite biker, which turned invisible as she turned on her ankle and got the other biker in the stomach, catching him off guard. She kicked his feet out from under him and starting kicking him in the side, only for his buddy to come in and try to help him out. Rei punched the other guy in the jaw while keeping the other pinned underneath her foot. as she tried to catch himself without falling, she managed to punch both of them in the crotch. proceeding with the same pained moans from the two.

she picked the guy up that she had pinned underneath her, and threw him at his friend as they tumbled across the cobblestone road. she jumped up again, using her elbow to body slam both of them. she lifted them up by their hair, ready to knock them out by slamming their heads together when one of them dissipated from her grasp and re-appeared behind her, being distracted she foolishly let the other go and they had her pinned to a lamp post by her throat. she had been in situations like this way too many times... she managed to lift up her legs and kick one of them off her and kick the other in the groin again from behind her. going around again and kicking him in the head. He fell to the ground unconscious.

Rei then tried to tackle the last guy over and over, but he kept moving from place to place using his invisibility. she scoffed and predicted his moves, as he re-appeared right in front of her to punch her in the face, she grabbed his wrist and threw him over her head and slamming him into the ground with all her might. she wouldn't be surprised if his arm was broken, but both of them were down for the count. That was for sure. "Done!" she turned around and smiled at Elyx, blinking a bit more blood out of her eyes.

It did not seem like the two of them were going to be getting up any time soon, Rei had played quite a number on them. The sight made him so proud for some reason, a smile was on his face when she returned. She came back to him so confidently as well, a heroine with blood on her body when she returned. Placing his palms out, green light would emit from his palms. The bleeding and the bones should both be healed provided she did not get out of range, the most she deserved was to come back without a huge headache. Once this was done, he would then attempt to place his palm on her head, his eyes closed as he then spoke. That was a beautiful battle to witness Rei, thanks for giving me something to enjoy. The Wizard Saint would tell her before he looked over to the shop. Care to investigate further and see what is going on over there? He'd ask. Their client was most likely in there, and waiting to greet the mages who saved them.

Rei felt so proud of herself. Yeah her head hurt but this was one of the first times she had ever actually won a battle! and taking on two tough opponents at once, no less. she strode towards Elyx who was smiling at her. She smiled back, it made her heart flutter with happiness to see her role model proud of her. She got close enough that he could put his hand on her head, and she could feel the trauma in her head disappear almost instantly. Rei was a young adult, but her behavior was more of a 16 year old getting to talk to their favorite singer for the first time.

"you really think so?" she looked up at him with a huge smile on her face. she felt so giddy from that battle, she usually never won battles, well...that was her own fault. considering she almost always picked opponents that were wayyyy out of her league. she nodded happily when Elyx asked about the shop, and walked over to it with him. All sorts of carts filled with food and other goods were either tipped over or totally busted. Well, at least this biker gang wouldn't be doing anymore damage. This was one of her first official jobs being in the guild, so when they turned to see the shop keeper that hired them Rei turned to Elyx to do the talking. She had no idea what to say.

Of course I do. I'm proud of you. Elyx would tell her, then would playfully ruffle her hair. Once he left her alone, he would chuckle before walking over to the shop, hands in his pockets as he entered. Inside of it would be a lady with short blonde hair with a dagger in her hands, held out towards them as if she were prepared for them to attack. He'd just continue to walk over towards her. Stay back! The lady would command. That did not affect him, his steps were still going. Once he got within arm range, she attempted to end his life, slicing the blade to the side. Impressive, he did not actually think the woman would do it. Even though she did however, her arm speed was not too good, and he was able to raise his palm quickly to catch her wrist. Relax, madam. I am one of the two mages who decided to help with the job you offered. My partner and I are just here to collect the jewels.

Rei watched as Elyx approched the woman who owned the shop that had put up the job request that they took. She was holding a large kitchen knife and pointing it at Elyx, did she really think they were going to hurt her? did she not see that whole huge battle that went down right in front of the shop in the middle of the street? surely she did, she would need to be pretty damn deaf to never notice any of the chaos that was going on outside. running civilans, Rei and Elyx using spells to tackle the enemies. She watched as she made a swing at Elyx to hard him, and how he caught her wrist in his hand. "Relax, madam. I am one of the two mages who decided to help with the job you offered. My partner and I are just here to collect the jewels." Rei also took a step forward towards the woman too, seeing the scared look on her face as her hand slowly lowered. "we took care of those bikers for you, they won't be coming back to bother you anymore" Rei added.

The woman began to loosen up. There were no more of the bikers, though her point of the view was understandable. Yeah, they did not look like the other bikers, but that did not mean there were no accomplices on the case. However, if there were any, they would have been taken care of by now. For now, she was going to have to consider his arm speed and formal speaking as well as Rei's. After a few seconds, the arm would drop. The woman was silent, not even speaking a word. Her arm would go under the damaged counter, as if she were reaching for something. Nothing in her body language seemed hostile, so he was not the least bit worried about what might be pulled out. If he wanted her dead, the Sky Slayer would have killed her by now. But instead, a bag of jewels would appear, meaning that she was rewarding them. He would take the bag into his right palm before looking over to Rei. I am sure we can see ourselves out now, can we not? He'd ask his partner before pacing over to the damaged doors.

The woman didn't seem very grateful to her and Elyx for what they had done to save her shop. Sure, there was quite a bit of damage, but besides that, there was no way the damage could have been avoided. They went through a lot of effort to get rid of those guys for her, well... Rei did at least. Elyx could've wiped them out in less then 60 seconds if he wanted to. But then she wouldn't learn a thing if that was the case would she? She watched as the woman slowly, and silently, grabbed a bag of jewels from underneath the broken counter to hand Elyx the jewels she promised for anyone who would take the job. She handed it over not in a rude way, but more in a way that she seemed like she needed them... well, hopefully now with the bikers gone the shop would be up and running again soon. Rei and Elyx said their goodbye's and walked down the street. Rei folded her arms and smirked to herself. "well that was fun!" she commented, her first job, a complete success!
