Breaking and Exiting [Job | Solo]

Hargeon Town. It didn't even take five minutes for Vargas to notice the slight change in atmosphere: the sea breeze, the seagulls, and overall, the temperature had gotten a little bit smoother than it was inside Fiore. That day, he had gotten a sudden request, which stated that the bandits needed to be stopped; they had an escape route already planned out, but it turned out that there was going to be someone ready to stop them from even getting out of port. Things were not going to be pretty.

Although Vargas, having entered Fiore as a stow-away, could relate a bit to them, it wasn't nearly the same. Hey, at least he was being somewhat responsible and had already taken care of some trouble on Hargeon's behalf, which had already evened the odds. Now, he was just in for the easy payment.

-Alright, let's see where these guys are... -the male muttered. After all, they were already hidden in their boat. Well, it wouldn't be too hard to find them... considering there were jewels on the ground. Seriously, what the heck was with Hargeon's guard?

After the trail of jewels directed him to the port, as expected, the Seig would then take a look at the boats from afar, his arms crossed as he walked three steps forth, then turned, and then three back, repeating the process in an endless cycle. -Hmm... now, how to enter there and take care of the problem as fast as possible... -he wondered, not wanting the whole mission to be a pain. To be fair, he had just been relaxing for a while, and did not want it to end so soon; finishing them off in a flash then getting back to his cup of coffee in that tavern along the way seemed like an attractive plan.

However, Vargas had never been one to strategize and form a plan without sensing that there was real danger, so he figured out that it would be okay to follow the oldest tactic ever. -"I guess it's time for "Group up, and hit it 'till it dies!"... if I had a group, that is. Maaan, at times I wish I did these things with other people. Hmm, maybe that chick in the armor would tag along for a mission or two...? Nah, don't think so. She seemed to hate me... oh, well, whatever!" -the male finished his train of thoughts, and directed himself towards the boat in question, following what little was left of the trail, for people was collecting the jewels from the ground.

Once the Seig was in front of the boat, he again couldn't help but to wonder why in the world would the guards of Hargeon be paid when they couldn't even follow the trail... perhaps they were short on personal?

Vargas, having decided to simply focus on his job, simply walked on board. There was nobody out, of course, so he figured out that they would be down, storing their loot and preparing the ship for the near departure. Well, then, it was just about time to introduce himself to those bandits, pirates, or what they called themselves; at that point, he didn't care what they were.

Focusing on hearing them, he could've sworn that, just as he had expected, they were gathering inside the ship. With a devilish grin on his face, he climbed onto the highest pole, and jumped down in a flash, the force from the impact being enough to shatter the tables below and make him drop into the criminals' nest.

-Hey, men... room for one more?

'Monster Dice' :

Almost instantly, the Seig was met by a large group of what appeared to be men that lacked proper training. Some of them were even trembling a bit as they held their weapons, a combination of longswords and knives.

-Who are you and what are you doing here?! -one of the bandits asked him, or rather, commanded him to speak.
-Hey, no need to get all hostile. I'm just here to join the party, that's all! And I guess there's little point in telling you my name; I've never been good with formalities.

That display of not giving a damn apparently got them, with feelings of rage beginning to awake in them. Vargas was doing what he did best: pissing off people.
-You bastard... how did you know this was our boat?!
-We made sure that nobody could even notice movement aboard!

The Seig would then tiredly emit a loud sigh before revealing his procedure to track them down, something so advanced they couldn't even fathom the complexity behind his method.
-...Am I the only one that has realized there is a freaking jewel trail that leads straight here? Seriously, I was already considering that this town's guards were a bit uncapable, but I see that's a... common trait around town. -the Devil Arms user retorted while snapping his fingers, earning himself death glares from the bandits. Little did they know he had just gotten ready for battle.

OOC: Entered Swordmaster.

-Act tough all you want, but we've got you surrounded. There's no way you're going to leave this place alive. We can't afford to have any witnesses... am I right, guys?
As they all maniatically laughed, the Seig simply cracked a half grin after breathing deeply.
-"Well, let's get down to business." -the male thought just as his foes attempted to charge at him, all at once.

As a couple lunged at him, trying to make him back off so the rest could get him from behind, Vargas merely jumped up, taking advantage of their own lunging motion to use their heads as stepping stones, propelling himself further and exiting the circle.
-Alright then, let's dance!

With a rapid movement of his hand, he summoned his long spear, Asag, as he imitated them and dived towards the foes. He swung the weapon, taking advantage of its bladed edge to strike four of them at once. In the meantime, his Gust Aura did the usual; unbeknownst to them until it was too late, the razor sharp currents of air took a toll on them all.

Well that was a bit too easy. He honestly hadn't expect four of them to fall at the first hit... but then again, Vargas's magic was one that focused solely on offensive power, neglecting deffense and offering just a bit of utility as a side effect of some of his weapons. In such close spaces, Asag was particularily dangerous, since the windy aura could not be escaped, that only meant that they'd be taking some damage without him having to even move from his spot.

It was clear that they did not understand what was going on, but that didn't stop them from attacking Seig in a rather coordinate manner. While the mage was busy blocking some attacks, a knife flew at him, with just enough time for him to cover with his arm, the steel piercing his flesh. However, what worried him most wasn't that.
-No! Not the damn coat!!!!

In a flash, he quickly began spinning his weapon above his head, creating what looked like a small-scale tornado, which began to draw in all the clumsy bandits inside the ship. That attack wasn't going to be actually good for the vessel's innards, yet the white haired male didn't care. As the bandits all got sucked in, the male smiled... though some of them managed to secure a hit or two as they flew towards him. Yep, fighting in closed spaces was no good for a purely offensive wizard.

After he had concentrated enough energy into his attack, the Seig finally decided to unleash his Wind Raid, hitting all the foes that had been sucked into the tornado. As the currents of air ceased for a moment, with the male holding his spear as if preparing to strike, the bandits began falling. Just before they touched the ground, a rapid sweep was delivered, as if it was a sycthe. The men struck by it, previously damaged by the gust aura, were incapacitated, with only a couple of them barely managing to hold their grounds.

However, in their current situation, it would not do to try fight Vargas... and he had other plans for them. He took a deep sigh, and asked them something. -You guys can't be the ones behind the crime... there has to be someone else behind you all. So let's make a deal. I'll let you get out of here without being delivered to the nearest guard post IF you take me to your leaders.

As if wanting to emphasize his point, he dismissed Asag.

That proposal seemed to appeal the two remaining bandits, who apparently weren't above selling their comrades to the enemy. They contently helped the Seig reach one of the rooms in the lower parts of the ship... where fighting would be coincidentially much more difficult due to the position. One bad shot and they'd be swimming.

-Alright... let's see what you've got here.

-Why am I getting the most awful deja vu?

Those were the words that left Vargas's lips as he realized that the so called "bosses" were no more than just another bunch of mooks. More bandits, armed to the teeth, but normal bandits after all. And to worsen things, they were ALSO leaking jewels from their bags!

For a moment there, the Seig considered the possibility of him being a victim of a bad Lac-TV reality show... but disregarded it, and prepared to end the battle. After all, that place was way too crowded, and he'd make sure to make himself a bit of room to breathe.

In a matter of seconds, the Swordmaster had dived into the mess, summoning Ghoul and rapidly activating its second form, swinging it in a circular motion in order to hit as many targets as possible. While his hasty advance costed him a couple of cuts and bruises, he managed to strike most of the foes. Ghoul gorged on their flesh and blood, ripping them apart and feasting on the treat Vargas was offering.

Summoned Ghoul, unleashed Consume and Adapt. Amplified damage from the active, enhanced passsive damage and normal d-rank damage x1.5 is enough to finish four of them.

The other six bandits saw the first four ones drop to the ground, part of their flesh having been taken by Ghoul, and instantly began cowering in fear. What in the world was that guy doing there? They did not know, but what was clear was that they either killed him or he'd be feeding them to the Magic Council. And to think that now that the Rune Knights were gone, they had thought they'd be able to get away with the raid to that bank...!

Vargas's weapon, previously a knife and now a needlessly large broadsword with a maw-like design stood before the rest of them, and taunted them to go try their luck. -Hey, what's up? C'mon! -while he was trying to get them angry, he was also eager to continue the fight, as the blood knight he had always been ever since he could recall.

The rest of the fight would transpire as it was expected. Ghoul's augmented form, combined with the boost in power coming from Swordmaster style did the trick to finish each and every single one of them in one hit. The fact was that Vargas being outnumbered got him wounded far more than he would've initially liked to be. More cuts and bruises adorned his skin, and he was stabbed on the back by another one with a knife. Still, Vargas's smile only grew wider and more savage as the battle intensified.

Eventually, all bandits were down to the count, even if he had taken a lot of damage as well. Blood trickled down, inside his trenchcoat. His vision was beginning to blur a bit, but the same grin kept adorning his face.

He adored it. He loved the thrill of battle. Still, he now needed to turn those twenty bandits he had took down to the city's authorities... and how was he supposed to carry them with a badly injured body? Well, Vargas was completely exhausted, so he figured out he'd simply point them to the ship and let them do the cleaning.

Still wondering how it was possible that they hadn't picked up on the jewel trail, Vargas left them, and then stumbled as he could to the nearest medical center. It wouldn't be the first time he'd earn a look of disapproval from a nurse, but that was another of life's pleasures for him.
