No Time for Games [Job]

A nod came from Lydia as she was sent out into Era by one of her commanding officers a smile on her face as she began to gain more trust within the ranks. A rising star she was hoping to be known as, a star recruit others could look up to and see as the defining character for how a soldier should be. Yet no matter how much she wanted this her chosen path meant a road of anonymous work and solo play. Due to this she knew for a fact that so long as she could see the fruits of her efforts it was all worth it in the end. Yet as she gained more details on the job she had been sent on she would only sigh, ‘Zey send me on a mission to find an escaped convict? Not even a mage at that either, just a one time butcher.’ before she came to Era she had read up on the convict having learned they butchered a convicted pedophile for going near his kid. Yet no matter what evidence there was the man was sent to jail and his family moved to Era for their protection. Finishing her entrance to the city she would begin the search with ease quickly catching the man's scent, “Tsk and they call a mage of the knights for this job? Child's play.”

As she ran down the alley way the scent ended at a wall obvious signs of magic at play as she scoffed, “A mage huh, And now my day got even more fun!” jumping the wall she would continue to track the scent obvious markings of earth magic at play as she would jump up top to the roofs and smile as she saw a man peeping through windows, “Jackpot!” With a quick jump to the highest roof she would root herself down increasing the range of her magic with ease, “Target is approximately thirty two and a half meters away.” charging a spell she would hold out her hand aiming for the mans leg, “Thunder Demons Bolt Pierce!” to her luck the man was standing still and the line of electricity ripped through the mans leg as he fell from his perch to the ground and she de-rooted herself, “Target wounded!” she would speak into a lacrima connected to her officer, “Non-Lethal I hope.” she could hear the stern look in his voice alone as she chuckled, “But of course! I took out a leg he should leave a bigger trail now! Going in pursuit!”

Jumping from the roof she was on lightning cracked the ground she landed on as she smiled and followed the scent of blood seeing handprints along the pristine white walls of Era, “Not much farther now!” Slowly she would reach the mans location as he attempted to limp away, “Sir! You are under arrest for escape from prison!” Looking back he would yell in anger slamming his hands down on the ground causing an earthquake, “I am not going back UNTIL I SEE MY FAMILY!” as the ground shook she would try and keep her balance smiling as she glared at the man, “True enough but sad for you I plan to take you in!” Lightning arced across her palms dancing with little sparks, “Lightning Demons Amp Knives!” soon her very hands were covered in sword shaped electric holy currents as she would jump and ride a wall quickly jumping down and striking the back of the mans head as electricity arc out towards a lamp post shorting it. With a chuckle she would quickly move around and bring a leg up slamming her knee into the mans chest as blood spat from his mouth onto the ground and he fell unconscious, “Yeah sorry bud but I don’t have time for schmoltz.”

Tapping the lacrima she would smile, “Culprit apprehended please bring in some knights for pick-up! Also a medic!” she would chuckle as she heard a loud sigh from across the connection, “He had better not be dying but good job… Head back to base they have need of you elsewhere” though her commander was not there she stood at full attention quickly saluting, “Yes Sir!” looking back at the man she had knocked unconscious she would laugh and smile, “Sorry bud but if I cared about you in any way I would have joined a typical guild.” The man groaned and she would jump off going from roof to roof back towards base ready to continue her jobs as both a soldier and peacekeeper.
