Re: Wine Testing [Job]
Rose Garden. Leila already heard quite a bit about this place. And not a single thing that could be taken negatively. It seemed like this place was some kind of paradise. It sure looked like one. Mage could probably even feel magic in the air. And not only that, the place seemed to be filled with non-magical shops and entertainment as well. All of this of course meant that there was a not small number of people around. Parents with their children, pairs and from time to time, some lonely individual who was looking for a bar where he could forget his loneliness. Leila was looking for place like that too, albeit for a different reason. Someone asked for a wine taster and she took the contract. She was no expert on wine, but it wasn't like she never had any either. Surely she would be able to tell if it's good or not. And after few minutes of walking on the main street, she saw it. A big sign that read 'Wailing Lily', the name of the restaurant where she was supposed to do her task. Large wooden walls, foliage and roses adorning the windows, several tables in front of the main entrance with a small roof above them, it certainly looked like a fine establishment. You didn't have to be an expert to appreciate the fine woodwork and cutouts that were adorning the furniture outside.
But the real treat was inside. Beautiful flowers and magical lights were on every corner of the room, people sitting around tables filled with foods that someone like Leila could never afford. All of those smells were making her hungry, even though it wasn't too long since she last ate. And the overall atmosphere was like nothing that she felt ever before. Finally she noticed a man that matched the description of this place's owner. He was a middle-aged, slightly chubby man who had close to a completely bald head. But the fact that he was talking and laughing with his costumers made him look rather sympathetic.
She carefully approached him and tapped on his shoulder from behind. "Excuse me... name's Leila Vergious. I'm here about the wine testing." To her words, the man only nodded, got up and lead her to the back. They went through the well equipped kitchen, where myriad of chefs worked and back into something that looked like a cellar. When the doors closed behind them, the man turned and looked at her with a big smile. "Hello there miss! I must be hones, I was expecting some refined gentleman to take on this task, but you will do just fine! Maybe even better, you look like someone who gets around a lot. And this wine needs to be the best in the world!" He laughed and took out a bottle and a wine glass. He just seemed well prepared. Her pored the red wine into the glass and handed it to the girl. Just like he said, she was no refined gentleman, however, she still tried to act like one. First sniffing the wine and taking in it's fragrance. it was actually quite good, or at least she though it was. The only question was if the taste would be as well. And without delaying it any further, she took a sip. The owner was watching her intently and filled with anticipation, even gulping when when Leila removed the glass from her lips. She took a moment before she turned towards him and smile. "Yes, it tastes better than any other wine I've ever had." And she wasn't even laying. For something that he made in a restaurant, it was a high-quality product. She was to several vineyards over the course of her life, but this was truly something different. The owner laughed again and slapped her back quite forcefully, though he clearly didn't mean to. "Thank you miss! I really appreciate this. So, as a reward, you can come at any time and eat all that you can fit into that body of yours!" He stated, giving her a small ticked that verified this. But now was no time for a feast. Leila hid it into her pocket, thanked the owner and gracefully left the restaurant.
