Nadarr VS Crimzon [Duel]

Aether found himself in the middle of the battlefield once again against a fellow mage, from what he was told about this match his opponent would be an up and coming mage from the famous Fairy Tail guild, he wasn’t told anything about his opponents magic, the equipment he might possess, if he had any help from a companion or pet, nor was he told his opponents name. He had hoped that the officials of this match have done the same to his opponent and had only given the information that he was part of Black Rose as to not give one opponent the upper hand over the other in terms of knowledge.

Aether had come to this place prepared to the best he could at this moment against an unknown enemy, dressed in his usual combat attire underneath a baggy jacket that hung from his shoulders, baggy pants that easily hid his legs, and his lipless mask that he never went anywhere without still grasped his face to conceal his identity. In his hand he held a golden tinted suitcase, which upon mental command would turn into a golden lance that housed a cannon capable of firing large artillery shells and other forms of ammunition. At the base of his neck lies his latest creation, a prototype armor of his own creation for Black Rose’s military that has yet to go through testing to ensure that it will protect its wearer, seeing as this match was against a fellow mage Aether thought that this would be the perfect time to test it. Anima stood at his side at the centre of the battlefield as they waited for their opponent to enter the arena.

Apollo looked around as he entered the battle field. Heero had set him up against a mage in fiore but didn't say who. He just said he needed to go represent Fairy Tail. He wondered why there had to be so many secrets. when it came to duels, come to think of it this had happened once before with a guild member of Laughing Coffin...why so much secrecy with these things. Still Apollo was happy to represent Fairy Tail even if he knew nothing about his foe. He exaimed the battlefield as he then saw his oppoinet. He looked to be holding a gold suit case and was dressed in what he could only assume was some sort of combat gear although he had a mask he was still holding his face for some reason Apollo sighed looking at him more.

He looked then at himself wearing his black suit into battle. As he adjusted his black tie and reached into his suit coat to pull checkmate out. he griped his pistol looking at his opponent "My name is Apollo Valairs of Fairy Tail" he announced formally to him as he stood there holding his mask waiting for him to answer. Apollo would be lieing if he said he wasn't a little intimidated by him but he sighed remembering he had faced worse before. He then saw he had a pet with him. he shook his head sighing "thinking about the last duel he had when he used a pet it didn't end well for him.

His opponent had arrived, dressed in a black suit and holding what appeared to be a pistol he appeared quite dapper if Aether did say so himself, but he swept that thought aside as the man introduced himself. Walking closer to the man Aether removed his hand from his lipless mask so that he wouldn’t have to yell his name as well as to extend his free hand to him to shake as a friendly sign before their match. “Aether Lepan of Black Rose.” He replied as he tilted his head to his indicate his companion who was waving her large arms behind him with a stupidly large grin. “That is Anima, also of Black Rose.” He told the man, retrieving his hand from his opponents and bowing momentarily. “I wish you luck in our match, and not to hold back.” Aether spoke softly behind his mask before returning to his place beside Anima.

“Are all participants accounted for?” A booming voice announced, some sheets of paper could be heard flipping around before the voice could be heard again. “Aether Lepan of Black rose, with the assistance of Anima of Black Rose, Paired up against Apollo Valairs of Fairy Tail. You three shall be participating in a battle on the Abandoned Town field-” The voice continued as wire frames of buildings began to form all around the arena. “This arena field has been modelled after the town of Magnolia with most areas being swapped around and some new buildings replacing others as to not give fighters that hail from this town an advantage over those that don’t.” As the man said the the buildings began to rise up and out of the ground and into the place of their wireframe duplicates. Aether’s eye shifted its color to a black sclera with a red iris to see if what was happening was an illusion, but it was all real, the very ground itself was being manipulated from what Aether though to be a variety of high ranking earth mages and lacrima, and by the time the announcer had finished his sentence Aether and his opponent were separated by a couple city blocks on what would be a busy main street. “I wish all fighters the best of luck, give it your all!” The announcer shouted over the invisible speakers, signalling that the match had begun.

Aether stood his ground for the time being, removing his baggy clothes before getting into a defensive stance, issuing a mental command for his armor to envelop him, the black, bone like metal erupting from his neck and making its way around him to form an exo skeleton to protect him against any sort of attack this man might make, but given that he has a gun Aether prepared himself to step out of the way of attacks or at the very least reduce the likeliness of being hit in a vital spot. Issuing another command, this time to the suit case to take its true form the weapon began to shine a bright gold as it expanded itself into the shape of a lance with a thorned guard at the grip, positioning the large weapon out to the side as to conceal the opening near the tip where the shells that would be fired from the weapon would come out. Aether prepared himself for the man to empty the clip of his weapon before he would even think of attempting to fire back at the man.

As Apollo looked over to him the match had begun Immediately he say him get into a defensive stance as he dropped all of his baggy cloths. He started to aim his gun but then saw something strange happen. An metal exo skeleton appeared from his back and covered his body. Apollo groaned a little looking forward of course he would have a suit of armor oh well it is what it is. He looked around his eviorment as all this was happening, it was a pretty good model of magnolia minus a few parts and buildings. Apollo shook his head looking into some windows there were even furnishings and machines inside the shops. Apollo took note of that as he would have to exploit these things later. He then pointed his gun forward spinning the barrel. "Promotion to Queen" he said stopping the barrel and his gun glowed a little. Then his sense's felt peaked. His vision hearing all were acute if felt like and he felt he could make the shot. He then looked at him grinning knowing his shot would pierce through that wimpy exoskeleton like it was a knife threw warm butter.

He took a deep breath looking forward then he looked looked at him planning his next few moves out in advance which was a lot harder to do when he didn't know what his magic was. that didn't matter for now he would have to play around till he could figure it out. he then fired the first shot of the battle making it look like he was aiming at his stomach but it was traveling down towards his waist. As he fired the gun he started to run the other way down the street not wanting to revel his magic quite yet. he looked back briefly to see if his shot connected. He was sure he would dodge or block it some how but knew that wasn't likely since it was first a piercing shot and second a bullet traveling at a high speed but it's been done before.

Checkmate:

Aether’s primary concern at this point was finding out what sort of magic his opponent used without revealing his own, whilst at the same time finding out how many shots the man’s gun was capable of before it required reloading. Keeping these thoughts in his mind Aether brought his lance closer to his body in an attempt to ricochet any incoming bullets, holding it in front of him much like a great sword of tremendous size, using his mental link with the heavily dense weapon to prevent him from dropping it, all this happening as he kept his eyes trained on his opponent for any signs his opponent might give away as to what he would do next as he span the barrel of his weapon. Luckily for Aether most of his movement clues were hidden by his Hirudo with only large movements being a dead giveaway. The base of his lance was large enough to cover most of his lower torso and block his vision in the process, but he held it off to the side of him slightly so that he could keep his attention constantly on the man.

Even from this far away he could see his chest rise up as his stomach flattened, drawing in a breath to keep his hand steady no doubt and maintain accuracy for the first shot of the duel. Aether didn’t have much time to react to the shot as it fired, but he left just enough of his body open to attack that in order to cause decent enough damage the man would have to avoid the area of his body that was covered by the golden lance. Foreseeing this outcome Aether moved the lance over just enough to cover the rest of his lower torso just as the bullet made its way to hit a slightly altered mark. But much to Aether’s surprise and slight shock the bullet left a large dent in the magitech weapon as it ricocheted off and into a nearby building, sparking off the weapon as it collided and pushed Aether back roughly 10 cm. Swinging his now dented lance down he pulled the grip back close to his body and placing his free hand just in front of the dent, using his mental connection once again to steady the heavy weapon with a mental line linking the barrel of his gun to the centre of his targets back. “Designate.” He whispered, quickly firing off a fast moving round from the barrel of his lance which, if connected, the target would feel as if nothing hit them as well as provide the remainder of his special shots a homing ability.

Wasting no time Aether swung the chamber of his gunlance out to replace the round that was just fired before sliding it back in, signalling Anima with a quick tilt of his head to head up onto the rooftops before bringing his lance to the side once again and running after his opponent at full sprint, lance tip pointing directly at his opponent with the intent to impale and fire a shot off at incoming rounds if necessary.

Apollo kept on running not feeling the shot hit him not even feeling it he looked up at his pet who was perusing on foot Apollo didn't like this situation at all he as quickly getting surrounded. he then looked forward muttering the word "Ricochet"he muttered as the shot that hit the wall shot back at him at his back not making a sound Apollo grinned looking forward he would be surprised if he was able to see it coming let alone soak up it's c rank of damage this time.  He still had to figure out a way to deal with his pet and him knowing the bullet won't stop him.  He sighed as he ran two on one fights were so unfair especially since he barley had any offensive attacks.  He wondered why he was chosen for this fight.   He kept running for a while observing his surroundings.   He had to make it hard for him to fight due to conditions and right now  that lance he wielded was the main problem.  he had to limit it's movement some how,   he then saw a alley thinking it would  was small enough to run through easily but not large enough for that lance of his to fit easily meaning he wouldn't be able to swing it or if he did he could predict where it was coming from.  He sighed then he ducked into an alley looking around for anything could use to press the advantage.  He didn't know what his pet was going to do but the the fire escapes and such in the walls would in they make it more difficult of course they were probably seasoned warriors so he wouldn't be surprised by anything. there were a few dumpsters and trashcans around but then he came to a halt close enough to get out of the alley but still inside it.  He turned looking at Aether as he was coming around the corner taking a deep breath preparing for and thing focusing his senses to dodge what ever he would throw at him also listing for that Anima to come fro above which surely it was.

Aether was quickly catching up on his opponent, using this chase as a good chance to judge their speed and how fast his opponent was. The Fairy Tail mage appeared to have a similar speed to his own, however thanks to the experimental organ that was implanted within him all those years ago his own body had changed, his muscles being capable of producing higher top speeds than those of other mages of his level which allowed him to quickly advance upon his opponent, but before he got too close he aimed his gunlance directly up into the air and whispered softly beneath his mask. “Remote Artillery.” Firing off a large round directly into the air, watching it arc as it adjusted itself mid-flight to its designated target, his opponent. Aether then proceeded to keep his distance, at least 30 meters away as he trapped his target, not entering the alleyway, but rather keep himself a reasonable distance away so that he wouldn't miss if he had any rounds to fire from his lance, his target would be trapped in the alleyway he had managed to find himself within as Aether aimed his weapon at his opponent to give the bluff that he hadn’t used all his shots within his weapon just yet as he hoped that his partner had caught a glimpse of the shot firing off into the air and knowing what he had in mind.

Anima climbed up the building, swinging from windowsill to windowsill and occasionally piercing the wall with her oversized hands as the swung herself over the lip of the roof, crushing tiles as she landed and began to keep pace with her opponent. She was lucky that the man didn’t consider her a threat just yet, but she was going to prove him wrong as she managed to manoeuver her way across the rooftops whilst keeping pace with him, seeing him turn and quickly enter a side alley, jumping over the alleyway as the man ran through and briefly noticing the fire escape, using her large claws she grabbed onto the high wall and pulled herself down, bringing the fire escape with her along with a large portion of the walls as she dug her other hand into the other building, using her exceedingly large weight to collapse a portion of the walls in an attempt to trap the mage between either Anima and the rubble or Aether and the rubble. Just as she reached the ground of the alley she pulled herself free to land at the exit of the alleyway towards the street that their target was running to, just as the artillery round that Aether had fired reached its target and exploded in a wide area, catching her in the blast.

Apollo waited for something to happen listening to the area around him. he then heard crashing from above. "Trinty Shield Dome Formation" head called out as then the sounds of rubble and metal fall came about. As it clashed against his dome shield he then saw what he could only assume was his pet crashing down. as rubble slid down his shield he knew the rubble barley did any damage so unless this monster was strong enough to break through then he was safe for the moment. he contemplated how he was going to fight this beast in front of him that was blocking his path. shooting his way out was not an option as he knew this modes limitations. He thought for a moment when from out out of the sky the Aether round came out and caused a massavie explosion hitting his alley as well as destroying the building next to them. when the dust settled he looked around still safe inside his dome. there was rubble everywhere and he even managed to hit his ally. He shook his head lowering his shield. He need to find a way to get the jump on these guys because he wouldn't survive if this two on one kept up. He then ran into the building to the left. it looked like it use to be a bar but the tables and everything was knocked over or destroyed in the blast he quickly ran behind the bar making sure not to leave a trace. there was no way he or his pet should know he was here unless they got luck since there were three ways he could have gone. he listen quieting his breathing readying himself if something were to happen

He saw it, it was only a moment before the artillery round impacted but for the briefest moment midst the rubble he saw what appeared to be a domed shield. He was too far away to use any of his spells to take down the shield before the round impacted, so he maintained his distance and kept an eye on where his opponent was, using his heightened senses as a god slayer to listen for the Fairy Tail mage’s footsteps to adjust his line of sight effectively, if nothing else to give him a general direction the mage would run to. His sclera turning black as his iris shifted to a red in order to make sure that his opponent wasn’t capable of illusions kept his one eye focused on where his opponent was before the blast. Whilst he was keeping his primary focus on his opponent’s whereabouts he pulled six shells out of his pocket dimension, quickly reloading his weapon as the dust from the explosion was still in the air and closing the chamber. After the dust had settled his path was blocked by the displaced rubble which had managed to be pushed towards his side of the alleyway. He had no visual confirmation of where he target was but he could hear him, footsteps making their way towards a building to his left, a bar no less.

Defensive magic. He thought to himself, making his way towards the entrance of the bar, the windows clearly shattered due to the explosion, and peeked inside. There were various places where the man could have hidden himself, with chairs and tables tipped over, destroyed or just barely standing with a few legs blown off, the only thing that was intact within the bar would have to be the actual bar itself, bottles of booze and alcohol had been knocked off the back wall with a few remaining. Aether couldn’t see it from here but he assumed the remaining bottles had slammed and shattered on the ground. His opponent was wearing appropriate footwear so he might have braved the broken glass and hid behind there, but he could also be hiding behind any of these tables. With a muffled sigh Aether positioned his lance through the window, aiming at the centre of the ceiling. “Split Shot” he would whisper beneath his breath before firing off a single round, hitting the ceiling and splitting off into six small fragments, which even though spread out made their way towards the bar, bouncing off the back wall and some bottles all to a single location and confirming his opponents whereabouts as he pulled his weapon from the window to prepare for a counterattack.
