Private Chrono's Seventh Mission: Action Figures! [Private]

Post by Chrono 26th July 2016, 8:13 pm

    Job Details:

Back to the grind, he supposed. It had been a while since Chrono had partaken in another adventure for the legal society. In between the present day and his last job, the sand king had drastically improved his sand capabilities, encountered a few new faces, and developed more as a person - even though he couldn't actually age or mature physically. Albeit, here he was, in Desert Village, having been brought here just like the old good days; transportation provided by the council. Traditionally, all it took was good food and a reminder of some good deeds to get the male a ride to a designated area for a new quest. So, what was this one all about? Well, among the villages within the continent, especially the Desert Village, the shipment of toys had hit a huge decline recently - completely stopped, in fact. The reason - even on profile - remained unspecified, but Chrono could tell just by the description of it that it wasn't just a poor play by toy companies, but rather this shipping system had been interfered with by criminals.

However, these criminals appeared atypical. The job profile read that peculiar figure were found here, not causing chaos (for now), but being quite the nuisance for the citizens of Desert Village. Let us note that the man of the sand had read this all on a wall beforehand, thus knowing that this problem occurred in an area similar to his homeland justified Chrono's reason for being here; he had a knack for keeping environments like his own out of harm's way. You could say it was just his personality, or maybe a habit. Either or, Chrono could not turn back now. He had chosen to take on the mission, and now he was here to complete it. He wished to become more and more recognised by the legal society anyway - not the council - so this would be quite the opportunity. On the contrary...

"Someone is joining me here?" Chrono thought aloud, "Who is this?"

    ❊ LADY OF WINTERFELL ❊
The Desert Village was a strange place to keep toys. Dimaria kept her hand on her sword that was strapped to her waist, the whole time, very suspicious of the surrounding. Everything had been turned into toys, smaller versions of the originals. The Stark girl was very glad that she had not been turned into a toy yet herself. She thought it was because of the Desert Village since she had never been here before, but on entering the village, she did not turn into a toy. This had to be a good sign right? Now for the actual job, she was supposed to partner up with someone from Infinity Hydra, and take down twins, or something like that. The twins were the ones who were causing this toy disaster. Dimaria had never played with toys, or even had them when she was a child, so she did not mind destroying them.

One thing she could not destroy though, were the twins. For some reason, the Council wanted them back alive. In Dimaria’s opinion, she would give them what they deserved, and what kind of punishment did anyone who went against the law deserve? Death. Yes, the critical punishment. That was how Dimaria thought, since she came from Winterfell. All punishments were death. There was no imprisonment. There was no mercy. If you did wrong, you must have the courage to face your wrong and make it right...by facing the gods. And to face the gods you were supposed to die, obviously. Dimaria trudged through hot sand for a few miles before she saw the other person who was not a toy. “Hello there, my name is Dimaria Stark. It is a pleasure to meet you,” she greeted with a smile. The man had some crazy eyeliner disaster going on for him, but she decided not to comment on it.

How did he not notice this? Surrounding him were toy buildings among all he could imagine. "Indeed a nuisance..." Chrono commented, "I already have an idea as to how this has happened, and how to stop it." This was all said in accordance with his questioning earlier, which was responded to seemingly with the presence of the other person this job had been expecting to complete it. "Likewise." Chrono replied to the greeting, "My name is Chrono Libra. Did you gather any information on how everything was restructured here? The profile given to me is vague, and only details how we ought to solve the case, absent of any names or suspects."

The male wondered if this mission was typically comparable to others. Would he just have to find a living source of this cause and defeat it? He couldn't imagine how to return these buildings to normal, but just when he thought it was the village alone, he noticed something from a distance. "Did you see that?" He asked suddenly, "I swear I just noticed the shadow of a toy from afar. Care to confirm?" This was all becoming stressful already. How could toys be such a bother? There was a thought earlier that maybe this village would get more tourism if civilians found out that everything was structured like a toy, but the council appeared to detest it. There just had to be criminal activity behind this, didn't there? Chrono sighed. It was at this moment that the lad wanted to get things over with as soon as possible, though he supposed if he had time, he might as well use it to think things over. Regardless of everything here looking silly, the source behind it probably wasn't - threatening, rather.

    "Are you prepared?"

    ❊ LADY OF WINTERFELL ❊
Chrono Libra was a strange name. She knew Chrono had something to do with time and Libra was the horoscope sign represented by scales so...time scale? Dimaria smiled and said, “I heard that the twins were behind this. Not that I know anything about them. All I know is that they are twins.” She thought the job paper said something about them, but she was not sure. Unfolding the job paper she had in hand, the Stark heir scanned it quickly, shaking her head since she didn’t find the twins’ names. “I guess that is what we have to find out ourselves,” said Dimaria with a slight shrug.

As she walked around, observing the toy city, trying very careful not to knock over the toys, but failing miserably as she knocked over something that looked like a railway station. She was shocked a bit, jumping back and stepping on more toys...or more like structures turned into toys. The moment she stepped onto the small structure, an echoey voice saying the words ‘Welcome to Toylaten! Welcome to Toylaten! Welcome to Toylaten!’ and it would keep going and on and on, repeating the same words over and over again. Dimaria first thought of ignoring it, but it began to annoy her, to the extent that she picked it up, but it stopped the moment she held it. Raising her eyebrows, the Blue Pegasus mage dropped it. She wondered if the twins were playing with her and Chrono.

I’m very prepared,” she told her partner, straightening herself and her shirt, patting down the fabric as her eyes darted from one place to another. She began to walk in no particular direction. “Come, let us find the twins, Chrono,” she told him as she led the way along a random path she could find.

"Twins, huh?" Chrono repeated. In the past, the man had only fought gangs or some sort of organisation - a group always greater than just two people. Were the enemies really that tough? That capable of doing such a thing? "Perhaps knowing that they're twins is still a good thing." He added, "It's a wild assumption, but I've noticed in previous times that twins - or rather anyone related by blood - tend to use similar, if not identical magic. If that's the case, we may only be up against one sort of magic here - that obviously being something pertaining to toys." This was such a bizarre mission that Chrono could not help but believe having another wizard was a wise choice. The council appeared to be a smart, after all...on some occasions.

Chrono followed the woman throughout their adventure here, noticing only the same things she appeared to find. He could sense some irritation from the woman regarding the noises ahead, but chose not to comment on it. There were other things on his mind too, anyway. For example, the sand king was eager to witness a living toy. Not just one of these typical toys, but a toy that was once a human, or something. He needed answers to this - that's all. By the time he finished pondering, he was called forth regardless. "You have an idea of where the twins are already?" He questioned, "I don't think they'd make it too easy for us to find them, don't you think?" It pained Chrono even further to realize that the two were only walking down a random path, meaning that in truth, this lady must've known the two were headed somewhere the twins were most likely not to be located.

"We should look more into these toy figures." Chrono suggested, "Naturally, if you notice a magic signature behind one of these things, you can match it with the person responsible. Remember that this is a village, right? We have a lot more than just twins to deal with." Chrono hated appearing hesitant, but he felt wise about his decisions, just as the council probably felt wise choosing these two currently in the village. But no, Chrono much rather preferred looking determined, and ready to hit level two of anything. He couldn't be bothered being hazardous of everything around him. He was more straightforward than that. To be honest, he wanted to know more about the woman - more than just a name. Was she from a guild? If so, what guild? What kinds of expectations did other guilds have? Heck, this last question had never passed his mind until now.

    "Agree with my plan?"

As they were walking around, Chrono had thought of some things concerning twins and their magic. Dimaria turned as he spoke his thoughts. The fact that twins having identical magics was very possible, but you could never be sure. “You’re probably right, but we cannot assume things. Let’s keep that thought in mind,” she said, however. Their magic (or one of their magics) definitely had to do with toys, because look at how everything was made of toy pieces. Dimaria had to be extra careful not to knock out another train. She was starting to want to get out of this place because it was so hard to walk through and the more she looked at the toys, the more she felt like throwing up. It was not gross or anything, but the sight of them just made her sick already.

Obviously. Which villain would make it easy for their foes to find them?” she laughed, taking a large step over a cluster of tiny buildings. What Chrono said next reminded her that this was a village before and humans could have been turned into toys - innocent victims. The Stark girl bent down almost immediately, studying the bodies of the toys that were shaped like humans, finding their bodies for a guild tattoo, or something like that. None of them looked familiar, for sure, since they were little blocks of plastic. Chrono then said that they should actually look into these toy people before worrying about the twins. It sounded like a good idea, but Dimaria didn’t know what they were going to do if they found matches anyway. They did not have the power to turn toys back into humans. So defeating the twins was the only plan right now. “Alright then,” she told Chrono, following his lead. “Let’s go with your plan.
