Something Something Darkside -Private/Raiza

The refreshing scent of the mountain grass played upon the winds for those who were interested in that sort of past-time - a scenic beautiful view for those obsessed with nature, the sorts who usually took a trek such as this one. Not on this day, however... no nature lover took to this trail at the moment, for it was occupied by the blue-haired beauty that was Yuki Chimei, and she seemed contented with the nature hike for the moment - however the scenery wasn't the reason for the blue one's ascent. There was one thing that this mountain village had, that most other locales could not provide and that was privacy. It was the reason that she now marched the wilderness, though not for herself but another.

Yuki had received a peculiar letter a week ago which had sought to bring her to this summit, one that had caused her to in-fact drop what she was doing at that moment and puck up on the trail to the very village that lied before her eyes. The village, now slightly shifting into view inch over inch at the horizon was her destination. For a whole week she had been marching the wilderness, though nature itself was not something that could slow or impede the trek of Yuki. Eventually, the long-legged woman came to the crest of the trail and towards the village proper. Rather than buckle to her knees at such a trek, Yuki took a sip of her waterskin and continued onwards.

This was just but the first test Raiza had in store for the woman he knew soon to approach. With a deadline of a week to get here, Raiza knew the applicant would require either wits, talent, or endurance. Wits to go and obtain a ride. Talent to have some extreme mobility spell, or endurance to walk the entire pathway to the meeting spot. Many hikers turned tail on this trail, the lush forest surrounding was dense enough to cause a raise in temperature, and pollen in the air could dampen one's breathing capabilities. The mountains themselves were high and steep walks. In fact, most if not all forms of travel had to revert to magic or endurance. The mountain village was located near here, using the dense woodlands and mountains as their home & protection. Those that lived in the village were accustomed to mining or wood work, so they could trek these trails much easier.

Though for an experienced mage, a walk up this particular mountain would be nearly nothing at all. Most lower ranked mages would find the walk to be a little extensive, but if they had any self-discipline at all, they'd be able to make it. This was why Raiza chose the spot as his first testing grounds. The spot where he waited was in a clearing, past the trail and woodlands, it was higher up the mountain, and it had a nice large flat area for efficient testing.

There, Raiza sat on a premade chair of stone, perhaps either brought up due to laziness, or crafted through some magical means, which ever as the case, Raiza was currently sitting on it. Awaiting the one he sent the letter out to.

It seemed as if the tests would never end, though Yuki Chimei was doubtless in her belief that she would pass through the trials no worse for the wear, though now it seemed like she was about to meet with Raiza and at-least that seemed like it would be a fun little outing. The two fore-mentioned methods of reaching the mountain village were for the weak and complacent, and not for Yuki at all. She wasn't however, without her ways and so the mountain trek would become easier for her than perhaps others who had taken the same route had. Largely thanks to the certain powers which she had exhibited, she had shown the ability leap as far as twenty meters high and her undead legs would get her there faster than otherwise. It would appear that Yuki found the journey to be fun, though looks could be deceiving.

On that last day, during the earliest stretch of morning Yuki had arrived at the area indicated by the latter, however rather than be all hot and bothered, she seemed well-rested and chipper in disposition. Yuki had paced herself through the trek well, she had taken just enough time to ensure that when she arrive it was at her full capability rather than rushing through the mountain trail in some sort of time trial to arrive here at earliest. Reaching the figure who awaited her, Yuki took a lavish turn of the arm and bent into a curtsey. "It seems that you have summoned me here, I have come as directed in your letter. You already know who I am so let's dispense with formal pleasantries and get into the meat of it."

The voice broke the silence in the air, a chill'd effect ran past the two individuals, signaling just how high up they were. The air was a lot more thin, a problem for anyone not accustomed to such a climate, or the typical human. Which neither of them were. A perfect training place really.

"Indeed" Raiza would reply, looking forward, not to break his gaze to even cast a glance onto the mage. This one in particular wanted to join the pillar of screams. A pillar lead by his mate, and he held the job to test this individual to see if they were even ready to be tested by Thorn herself. Such a daunting task, but it had to be done. Besides, something undead radiated from this woman anyways. Truly, Raiza had a number of tests, and sure his job was to test for the pillar entrence, but he had other ideas to go on. One being to test the potential of this one's use to the guild at all, since he hadn't even seen them around before. Were they a newcomer?

"You have one chance to resign your request to join the pillar of screams. After that, I will not be sorry for any mishaps that happen during your test. You understand this well enough, correct?" Easily, he indicated that this test might just end up breaking the woman's will, if not nearly leaving her for dead. After all, this test was going to be that of around C-rank equivalent, with som malicious tendencies. One who wishes to join the scream pillar, must be able to endure the psychological forefront of what they may deal out.

The morning dew of spring time still hung from the nearby trees of the village surroundings, their drops rising into a melody with the rustle of the tree in the fingers of the wind, and the sounds of murmurs and movement off in the distance, churning with the beauty of the glaring sky into a scene which would melt the heart of the common nature enthusiast however to Yuki they were no more than a backdrop to the monotony of everyday life, another sign of complacency among the world. It was a needed element, for despite their weakness the weak majority were a needed part of the world, however it wasn't something that interested Yuki.

This man who stood before her and did not even pay her a glimpse interested her greatly as a smirk formed at the crease of her lips, he assumed that just because he was a learned and experience mage who had leagues above her own ability that should she bear her fangs they would not reach him - such bigotry well... to be honest it made him something more than the usual and mundane, and there was something about him that seemed out of this world... that was interesting. Yuki would play with his conceptions at the moment, though she would cast them aside and show herself for what she truly was through action and trial.

"Hah... As if I would be a coward as such to do so. Bring on whatever tests and quests you wish to impart upon me, so that I can show you my mettle. If nothing was difficult in life, they would not be worth pursuing..."

"Well first, I'll explain what we are. We are the harbingers of all of the fear, torture, and insanity. On the field, we're the group that typically strikes fear into the enemy. An enemy who fears us, loses their will to fight. The other pillars, such as that of annihilation, deal with the destruction. So in other words, we're the trump card on the mental foreground....off the field however, we are named the pillar of screams for a reason, we deal with a lot of the interrogations, and the torture work, among other things"

Exhaling a bit, looking to the sky, and then finally to Yuki. "That is the introduction to us. So you now know exactly what you're getting yourself into". Truth be told, Raiza had already began his test with the letter being sent. The endurance test was that to ensure the participant would either use a quick, effective method, or take it slower, but just as effective, if not more so effective. It showed a lot about a person really. Would they take the quick route, get the job done, or get the job done with their own means, and ensure the job was done. In the form of torture, the latter was most likely to succeed in getting information, while the former would end up killing the target too quickly.

A grin on his face as he stood up, dusting off his pants, and placing his hands in his pockets. So... how would this woman handle the fortitude it took to torture another person, and more so, to be tortured. Raiza may suck at being any form of good at social interaction, apart from being social with Thorn that is, but at least he had the intellect and high analysis skills to incorporate into this test.

"For your first test. I'll have to reveal a bit about my game magic. A spell I contain, allows me to transport us there. So how about it Yuki, lets play a game" The moment his words were spoken, runic symbols lifted from his hand as he out stretched it towards the woman. Should she say yes, or accept, and the other magical unknown requirement(ooc consent) be fulfilled, then they would be taken into another plane of existence, however this new plane of existence was mental only. However Raiza was keen enough to make sure it felt all too real, and seemed real too. If it was accepted, the two would appear to be fired off from the spot, and teleport to the pillar of scream's torture chambers.

"your first test has began" Raiza said nothing more, and would leave this up to complete imagination. After all, no one else was in the room, at least right now. There were many tools of unimaginable thinking, and many things used for torture. Actually Raiza was already testing Yuki, just by reaction alone so far.

It was finally that the silver-haired one addressed her with a rather laborious explanation of the Pillar of Screams, as if she didn't know what she was getting herself into beforehand - still, she didn't mind listening to the boilerplate commentary so to say and so would allow him to continue speech unabashed and uninterrupted. cerulean orbs flashed a look up to the sky in tandem, expecting to see something out of the orthodox, however disappointed with only the same 'old boring sky being cast into view. Returning her focus to Raiza himself, she could have very well continued with the snark though this was the time to get serious about exactly what she was about to do, and to show rather than tell her several worthy attributes in this particular pursuit. After all... words were good for nothing, and only action would show through as her true measure of self.

The sight of the grin only brought a smirk to the countenance of Yuki as her mouth twisted up into a grin of her own. This man sought to test her, oh boy would he be in for a surprise and it would be more than worth it to wipe the grin off his face. Regardless, the magical spell was accepted on her part, it was about time to put up or shut up. The two were then transferred into the torture chamber of the pillar of screams - some sort of teleportation magic perhaps - as it seemed the most likely candidate for such a quick change of scenery. This brought Yuki into a series of close examination, much like a forensic specialist examining every detail of the area and looking for an inconsistency. Eventually, she stepped over to the trays holding the torture devices with a smile.

Oh, he thought to test her on torture and interrogation technique, well she was well-versed in torture as it was a past-time of her own and more than a passing interest. As this place reacted to imagination and experience, the slab was soo filled by a portly merchant fellow who now layed upon it with curly short black hair and a beard. Yuki identified this man right away as one of the masters she had lived as a slave under, then wondered how he had appeared there - perhaps captured by the guild to serve as he test or perhaps another phenomena was to explain. Either way, Yuki instantly drew up a tool and moved to her captive subject. With a morbid grin she went about torture of the subject with an extreme excellence for finding certain pressure points that when squeezed... would cause the subject to become more suggestive.

The wailing was strong, and her finesse of its own was a sight to behold. Yuki held an intimate knowledge of the pressure points of the body and used that knowledge to great success so that by the end when she was done tieing him up, he would sell out his own mother. She would go through several other similar subjects all with the same morbid fascination and obsession, all with the same level of analysis, skill, and knowledge. It was finally over by the third hour, and at that point Yuki was a laughing riot. She spoke with a cackle of laughter, "What's next, would you like for me to step up to the slab eh? See how I tick hmm? You guys are quite resourceful after digging into my past like that. I must offer my thanks, for that. Now then... I guess it's my turn?"

Raiza had a grin on his face most of the show. Had Yuki realized this was an illusion of mentality, the test would have ended right here just on her perception skills alone, and would have had to move onto other tests. Though the interesting turn of events, Raiza had actually lifted an eyebrow out of interest. This girl... no this sadistic torture hungry woman wanted to be put on the slab next? Oh.... how this was too fun. What actually made him stand up was not the thought of Yuki on the torture slab, but instead, just the vision of Thorn on it. The sheer pleasure a pillar of screams member has with their job, mixed with another with said feeling, oh the moment was glorious.

His smirk soon turned to an expressionless and emotionless look as he stared at Yuki, whom by now, in Raiza's mind, wanted to be tortured. "Perhaps, but another day, not now. We already know, or easily can know, anything you hold secret. Besides...we're not here for pleasure, now are we?" The longer he kept this technique up, the better. The easier it would be to test her in his own way. Test number two and three were a success after all. Could she stomach what they did.... god yes. In fact, Raiza had a theory that Yuki was the type to get hot and bothered by such a thing, all too willing to be tortured herself. In fact, the third test was to see if she could handle the mental aspect it took to be tortured. That test was passed without Raiza even needing to conduct it. Though he knew Thorn would test her in combat skills no doubt, and that was where Raiza wished to end the test, to test her combat skills after she was mentally, and emotionally exhausted.

Finally, he turned towards the door, beckoning Yuki to follow him. "I wanted to test you on more than just than just those. So far of my tests, you failed only one."He chuckled, as they passed through the door, Raiza would whisper the words 'game over', and they would seem to appear back on the mountain top, not even a full second would have passed.

"So Yuki, as much as I'd like to test other things, and enjoy you scream in pain. I'll be skipping to my last test. Will be a combat one, you'll be fighting this here child"

As for what child Raiza spoke of, a hooded figure, the hood seemed to mask the entire child's presence, the black veil of energy stopped any sight, in fact that was because the dark energy of the child was the child. It in all essence, was a summon, and to be summoned, indicated Raiza felt like doing nothing but having a little fun from here on out. Could they handle attacking a child? not knowing it was a summon? Especially when it immediately forged what looked like a common dagger, forged just a few inches longer

"Oh and uh.... begin". At this point, Raiza was already walking away, the summon was a fusion spell of two aspects of himself, highly offensive for it's nature, but in all honesty, it wasn't very strong unless it's active was used. However the summon knew by now, not to kill the target, and would begin walking towards Yuki, a childish giggle could be heard.

Screams of pleasure perhaps... but she wasn't the sado-masochist either so would she find pleasure from being tortured well she wouldn't know for now. The thought wasn't the foremost on the mind either, wondering which of the tests she had already failed. It was but a passing thought as blackened leather pressed upon the finely paved ground, slick -clicks-resounding in the cacophony of the pillar surroundings as Yuki stepped down and to join with Raiza. The two of them would once more be standing where they had left off, and this lit a little bulb in the mind of Yuki.. It had all been an illusion, and so a smirk enveloped her lips as she spoke, raising her land into . "Ahh, so my second theory was right - it was an illusion spell. I thought that might be the case but it didn't seem likely at first... Bravo."

Cackling madly for a brief moment, Yuki drew her icy blue eyes down to the short form of the child cloaked in black hue which is where her mad laughter would halt as she examined the figure now fully and knew that this was no child merely from the chilled feeling crossing her body. She was prepared, mentally and physically, so when told to begin - she would do just that by leaping backsards and in the same motion pulling her Cavalry Rifle up to eye-line. Quickly depressing the trigger, Yuki released the 10mm slugs straight at the child which would fly to him at the speed of a crossbow bolt. At this point, she was only testing the child's capabilities.

By now sitting back, watching the fight progress, he began to ponder various aspects already. The keen wit to understand what they saw was not real, but to call it an illusion was also false. Close enough, its a technique that causes them to enter the mental realm. Though, giving the woman enough credit to say she passed that test would be out of the question, instead Raiza kept it in mind, that she did have potential. Though one truth laid in question, Raiza never ended it either, simply because the woman did not 'want' out of it. His reference to game over? it was because he dictated he already won. This was the power of the game after all, he controlled time, space, and reality in this world once someone gave him that power. Letting the woman have a portion of that during the first phase was enough, and now it was locked so that she could not effect it. This way, no... accidental leads happen.

Though onto the fight. Which was already appearing rather gruesome as the child was shot pretty easily, the bullet flying through their darkened pitch black ethereal body. To test this summon was a joke, it let each bullet pass right through the summon. Though this was not before lining their cloak with a thicker cloth material, seeming to damper some of the projectile damage before reaching the summon, and flying through them. Which would not even slow it down, due to passing through a non-physical body(Still harming them).

The childish giggle, a hum followed as the dagger was readied before the summon dashed forward, aiming to cut at the woman's left leg, a non-lethal attack, no doubt to let pain sit in instead.

Armor, much like weapons, has a resistance value associated with it. If the spell or attack is not equal to that resistance then the damage to the armor is halved. The damage to the user is then halved, and this is applied before the armor reduction value. (Your attacks are classified as D-rank, and your spells are all D-rank. So dont need to worry about resist.

Black lines curved outwards in every which way as a series of lines enfolded into twin circles that stretched around the form of Yuki at the eaves of her feet - black taint awash around her entire body in streaks of pale hue. Around her right arm now, which lie outstretched to perpendicular of her body, black energy manifested into a pair of crimson lines which formed circles that now enmeshed the arm. Colour faded from the right arm as it became of alabaster hue, the nails turning into sharpened talons in an instant. Now, the black lines coalesced into runes crossing her arm as the crimson light formed a circle at the end of her arm's stretch. Moisture in the air pooled up around her, snowflakes blowing across as the ice formed into two large wings - both of pure ice. Meanwhile, the energy of itself pulsed as the blade was withdrawn from the space between the two rings. The blue blade is complemented by wavy lines across it's surface with an ornate hand-guard bearing a blue crystal and hilt. The pommel is set with another blue crystal and a series of beautiful feathers poking outwards.

Rolled onto her shoulder, the mahogany carbine slid down and behind the cloak which protected her. That was enough of the testing for now, it seemed as she had enough information to go on to figure out how to fight this thing. Once her power had been summoned, Yuki broke forwards with blade in hand, taking to levitation as she rolled across the field and slammed her sword down into a slash from on high and into the creature itself. Furthermore, her sword seemed to be enmeshed within black ice which seemed to singe as it struck the child - frostburn!

A whistled chuckle from Raiza watching the entire scene unfold, this woman went full force right away, revealing her entire kit. A fatal mistake in a true match, but it was okay for now. It let Raiza observe potential easier, and deduce that the test was already passed. However, why end the fun? letting the fight continue when each blow struck the summon so effortlessly, Raiza grinned, the summon knowing not to kill this target, but so easily being slapped around like this was hilarious. Especially more so since the summon only seemed to giggle like some amused school child.

It was still interesting though, because at that moment, the final strike that hit the child seemed to make the child's laughter crack into an insanity. An overwhelming malicious intent washed over their entire demeanor. The ground below them both would begin to ooze strangely. The summon had used Essokinesis to create a single shot revolver, loaded only a single bullet, and revealed the gun point blank to open fire, aimed at the woman's stomach, at least that was the plan. If it failed or succeeded, the gun would have been dropped, only to reveal the barrel had been destroyed after the energy bullet left the chamber, after all, it was designed by the summon to be a single shot, just in case of fail. As for the dagger the summon had, it would remain, in a now more aggressive held position with the blade pointed down, and out with the summon ready to charge forward before it seemed to be agrivated at the ice around it, almost hesitating and instead waiting for a new move to rise, and to see if the bullet did anything.

There was something lurking which the Summon hadn't likely noticed due to the woman's body covering it's appearance as well as he fact that - well for some reason people seemed to ignore it and that was the pair of crimson circles which by now had grown enough to fit a full body. The cackling child would even notice as it began to create the revolver, however at that same moment Yuki was diving at the child. With both the female and now Draugr in the way of the shot, they would both be hit for lesser damage, though Yuki didn't seemed to be fazed much the draugr brought his axe to bear and swung at the child. while she brought her sword back out into a slash towards the child's side, however that wasn't all she had as Yuki brought her sword down to SMASH into the ground to flash-freeze everything within 20m. what's more is that the child wound find ice crawling up it's body as razor blade of ice poked holes in i's coat. Two tendrils of ice moved wrap around the child and bind it in place.

By now, this was as much of a hilarious outcome than anything. A summon was brought forth to meat shield for the woman, and even brought their own weapon too! Well, Raiza's summon seemed to be losing, or at least enjoying itself way too much to the point of taking every fragment of damage possible, their cloak seemed to be torn, and the skorned pitch black ethereal face of the child remained, a being that seemed to hold no persona other than a tormenting humor, and no defining trademarks, nothing to define themselves, an essence of darkness was all that could be seen by now.

Though, in a wonderful attempt, the child decided a new tactic. "Bye bye!" it spoke, in a childish, almost cruel and unforgiving nature. Essokinesis would form a 'bomb' of sorts, still a weak grade weapon, and infused it with the power of a requip. The bomb, created by essokinesis would be frozen next to the child, detonating, and wiping the child out flawlessly. Though the ice around seemed to muffle the explosion fairly easily In fact the explosion was dampened enough that even a heavy strike from it wouldn't be that much, leaving the result to be more flash and ice than anything. Though from the explosion would reveal two things. The sadistic nature of the summon and raiza, as well as show that the summon couldn't have survived that attack. Though if Raiza deemed this a victory for Yuki or not, would result in a few things. One, he pass her in combat alone already, though he saw flaw in her tactics. Then again, he saw flaw in how his summon acts too.

Regardless of no matter what the outcome was, Raiza would clap, and only after a couple minutes finally, remove the illusion of his game world, him still sitting there, and Yuki being unharmed, however this would only appear after he got to witness what shape Yuki would have been in.

"This time, I ended the illusion". His chuckle indicated he was only having a fun time, like a youth who enjoyed a game.

As the creature took on the full brunt of her attack, Yuki's mount enveloped into a wicked cheshire grin as the thought of the pain which the creature now suffered triggered a particular desire - to watch others suffer in pain. Wordlessly, however, Yuki raised her left arm fully taut as ice formed under and round into a hardened shell of ice that would absorb the massive bomb for her. She had sensed the build-up of magic and combined with the cheerful words, had deduced it was about to go suicide bomber. As the dust settled, she found herself back where she stood with herself and Raiza, no detriment the wiser. "Well, that was fun! I'd have to say that was more similar to another realm of dimension though as you had full control of the situation through the entire bout of tests."

clapping his hands, Raiza finally would give credit to the woman's perspective. "Endurance, ability to analyze a situation, combat ability to an extent, and the ability to perform flawlessly the task we're given on a near day to day basis. I think you'll do wonderfully in the pillar leader's test, if she gives you one." His words no longer seeming to be that of an unimpressed dark mage, and more of that of one whom was willingly accepting Yuki into the ranks. Though his smile quickly turned to a smirk as he turned his head towards a single flower. His hand reached out to gently pet a petal.

"Tell the mistress of your findings please". It seemed odd to anyone but Raiza, but the moment he spoke the plant seemed to appear as if it understood what he said. it moved gently, but never from it's spot, the plants, using their own language spread quickly, and what Raiza had done when he touched the plant, was impart all the knowledge he acquired from the game world. It was a benefit after all, that the pillar head was able to communicate with plants, and Raiza would not have brought Yuki here if he was not confident the plants would transmit the message. In fact, it wouldn't be long till Thorn heard of the outcome. Now, was just a social interaction, since the fight and test was over.

"You are free to go if that is your desire. I'll remain here until bored. If you have any questions, or concerns. Let me know. As for your test I gave you. You've passed mine."

"It wouldn't be fun if she didn't give me one, though it is of course entirely her call. To be honest, if she put me against you that would be kind-of fun, and I would like to see that happen." spoke the tall woman in earnest, the corners of her lips turning from a smirk to cheshire grin. Watching as Raiza turned down to pluck the flower from it's sediment below, she simply waited for him to finish the odd little ritual with the flower and finally once it was said and done, churned out ice to create a chair before her, then shifted her posture as she twisted around to sit.

"Well actually, there is one thing that I wish to speak with you about... before my egress. I would like to become your protege if you would allow, Raiza."

A thought crossed his mind on how Thorn would even test him. Then again, Thorn had actually gave him temporary lead over the pillar, since she was temporary in command of the guild while the leader was out doing...whatever. Did he actually need to say anything at this point? The test she could give would be more than likely just a game to her, a twisted sense in fact. Though the words Raiza was listening to right now. Was Yuki insane? Well... obviously she was, but no really... Raiza wanted to speak up, and ask if he heard that right. It would be 'fun' to face him? Yuki was joking, right? He was leagues above her right now, and this was his arrogant cockiness that made him grin. His all too well known gaze he typically gave many people. His black sclera mixed with his crimson iris & pupil would strike a gaze at one showing pure malice.

"Fight me? Fun? Yuki, you must be joking, you had to go all out against a simple summon. A tool for war. That is like requiring to go all out against a simple hand gun. If you're certain you wish to fight me, then I'll accept at a later time". Though one thing did calm him a little bit, was being asked to join him as a protege. That, it was ego that told him he was still better, which he clearly knew. Yet this was the first time another asked him to actually train them. All through his life, he was equal or lesser.
