Name: Ginno
Gender: Male
Age: 43
Birthday: 6/14
Sexuality: Straight
Special Characteristics: Artificial Third Generation Illithid. Illithids possess Psionic abilities based on age. No human mouth is present instead a beak used to break though skulls and eat the brains is underneath the tentacles.
Personality:
Outside Combat: Between missions Ginno can be found skulking in a corner of an empty tavern, or roaming in a nearby forest pondering existence or perhaps in a library studying esoteric books. Ginno finds socialization difficult as he is incapable of speaking as most humans know it, in the transition from human to Illithid he lost his human jaw and tongue making it difficult to speak in any human language, his Psionics allows him to communicate feelings and emotions, but only to individuals who are actively trying to ‘hear’ him and unless they are particularly wise or intelligent they often misinterpret Ginno’s ‘messages’. When he does make conversation it is often with the unaware, posing as a higher being or something of that nature he probes the minds of sleeping wise men in attempts to gain knowledge and insight. Prone to seclusion and wrapped with mild paranoia he often watches shadows out of the corner of his eyes, half expecting the shadows themselves to jump out and attack him. Assassins would have a difficult time approaching him unaware.
Ginno has roamed from town to town, city to city acquiring information from many years. What has caused his current appearance is a mystery to him, all he knows that his trust was betrayed and has resolved never to put himself at the mercy of another again. From an early age he’s been this way as a result it stunted his growth and he remained the size of a child, often ridiculed and even hated for his appearance he has found it very difficult to stay in one place for too long, leading to his lifestyle of wondering. From simple librarians to great philosophers and kings he has probed many minds in an attempt to broaden his knowledge of the world and find the person responsible for the transition. Called to Fiore by the rumors of powerful magics and a place dedicated to the teaching and study of magic Ginno had never even heard of, Ginno now arrives determined to hone his abilities and reach his ultimate goal to subjugate of all man.
Inside combat: Being so small and relatively weak Ginno keeps a good distance from the enemy often using his allies to take the effort of the enemy. Often determined to accomplish his objectives he will perform his duties with little deviation, but not that so that it puts his own well being at risk. If allies for whatever reason are unable to continue in their mission he will wait for them, he will find a tree or some other elevated area to climb and constantly scan the area to make sure they are not ambushed. Missions where Ginno are involved often have a 'feeling' to them, this is because of his acquired Psionics, while weak Ginno uses this to gauge a verity of the target's feelings such as: Emotions, intention, vague thoughts, confidence, and also assists during delicate rituals. Being an artificial Illithid has disadvantages as this 'ability' is passive and often bothers him during non-combat situations with a flurry of emotions and feelings from very many sources around him can be disorienting. Under command he will follow orders with hesitation as he is constantly suspicious of all around him but nevertheless will follow them.
Likes:
Seclusion; Be it in a dank cave or a starlit forest Ginno enjoys time away from others.
Books; Such a thing books are, destroyed by mere fire but able to hold information that may topple an empire.
Traveling; Moving place to place, never settling down, never making deep connections is the only way to not be emotionally hurt or betrayed.
Dislikes:
Nosy Individuals; asking him why he looks the way he looks annoys him greatly.
Untrustworthy Individuals; He can't remember exactly but his current life is a result of being betrayed.
Cold; The cold makes him slower, and makes his face tentacles shrivel and unresponsive.
Motivations:
Revenge; Finding the person(s) responsible for his current appearance.
Knowledge; Expanding his understanding of the world and magic, he considers, a worthy goal.
Subjugation Of All Man; It will not take much to destroy man, kingdoms will fall, crushed by their own greed and me pulling the strings on their puppet men.
Fears:
Losing his memory again; He will be once again left vulnerable.
Being manipulated; His life was changed because of someone else's decision, not again.
Death; He believes death will cheat him of everything he's achieved.
