Well, the actual system is fine, however, what I would like to suggest is how mentors/mentees can meet up.
Currently, it requires dice rolls to see who you get paired up with. While this is an interesting mechanic, I don't think this system is viable any more. What I would like to suggest is:
Mentor looking for Mentee: If a mentor is looking for someone to take under their wings, they can make a request to go into the "Available Mentors" list. Through this list, people who are looking for a Mentor may choose from the available Mentors who they wish to take on as their Mentor.
So if Mage Bob wants to be a Mentor, Mage Bob goes into the Available Mentors list.
Then Mage Jane is a lower rank and wants a Mentor. She sees Mage Bob and would like Mage Bob to be her mentor. It will be at this point that Mage Bob will be removed from the Available Mentors List and Bob and Jane will be put onto the Current Mentor/Mentee listing (basically they're already paired, so they won't be available any more).
Inversely, there can be Mentees that want a mentor. However, they may not know who would be a good Mentor. So Jane is looking for a Mentor and enters the "Available Mentees" list. From there, anyone who is capable of being a Mentor (in the case of this site, A Rank and up) can look at the Available Mentees list to see who they would like to choose from.
So I propose that waiting lists are used as opposed to the dice. Yes, people can still hook up as agreed upon like they can already, but instead of dice, mentors/mentees choose from a list of those looking for a mentor/mentee instead of throwing the dice around.
