Secondary Magic Name: Nephalem Sword Art
Evidence of Accomplishment: Training Thread
Description: Nephalem Sword Art is a magic that combines Deniel's Magic with that of his sword's, Nidhogg. This further aplifies the capabilities his sword can do, and what Deniel can do as well. The three forms of Nidhogg also add to the capabilities of the magic, listed in abilities.
Strengths:
- Aside from Spirit/Fusion Merge, Deniel doesn't need to be in a Full Body Take Over in order to use his spells.
- Since his spells still use Holy and Unholy Energy, the ability where they deal double damage to certain Slayer types still apply.
- Each spell is designed to go perfectly with each of his Take Overs. Like peanut butter and jelly.
Weaknesses:
- Shared Cool Downs. As awesome as it is to have three effects, cool downs being shared is pretty sad.
- Every one of Deniel's spells requires Nidhogg to be used. If he's missing it, or if it's broken, they don't work.
- As awesome as it would be, swords summoned by Deniel in any of his other abilities can't work as replacements to Nidhogg. He needs the real thing.
- Just like his Primary Magic, Deniel's allies can be just as vulnerable to his spells as his enemies can.
Abilities:
1. Nephalem Arsenal:
For every spell slot, there are three different effects. Each effect depends on the current form Nidhogg is in. Nidhogg, Armageddon, or Vita and Mors. These aren't three different spells, it is a spell with three different effects. If one effect is used, the entire spell slot goes on Cool Down.
2. The Bond of Two Souls:
Whilst normal weapons will deal damage equal to the rank of their user, Deniel and Nidhogg have developed such a strong bond, that they both put effort and emphasis on attacks. When Deniel makes an effort, so does Nidhogg. Both of them have their souls and minds linked together, which also explains how their mind communication works. However, the two have never been able to link strengths. Now that their bond and friendship has gone beyond normal levels between a weapon and master, they can both perform the same attack, even though Nidhogg is the blade and Deniel is the wielder. In other words, every attack made by Deniel using any of his sword's forms deals bonus rank damage, as Nidhogg's strength scales with Deniel's.
3. Concentration:
The Nephalem, regardless of the blade it is utilizing, fights in a very similar fashion that only slightly varies between forms. The universal aspect is that the blade is sheathed when not in use, and when actually in use, carefully timed and precision strikes are executed with every swing of the blade. The swiftness and strength of the attack is dependent on the Take Over form and weapon, but this universal rule works towards the advantage of the Nephalem with the Ability known as "Concentration". The initial strike of the Nephalem Sword Nidhogg, Broadsword Armageddon, or Twin Blades Vita and Mors will deal bonus 100 damage on hit or miss, which is added on to the damage calculated after his strength and weapon capability. Once this single strike has been used up, Concentration enters a passive state. The passive state of concentration causes energy of the Nephalem to be filled within the blade as it lies dormant, or not being utilized in other words. For every post that the sword--regardless of what form it is in--that is not being used, 25 damage is built up that will be added to its next attack (on hit), which maximizes at 4 posts, resulting in a full 100 damage that the initial cut of Concentration initiates. The swords Vita and Mors must be both out of commission for this to activate and build up, and both can carry the bonus damage, but only one may execute it.
- Signature Spell:
- Name: Quick Switch
Rank: Perfected (Artifact)
Type: Tactical
Duration: Instant.
Cooldown: No Cool Down.
Description: Swinging his current blade, or making any motion he wishes, his current weapon form begins to glow with the corresponding energy that it is about to switch to, shifting itself into any other form that it is not in. Deniel may instantaneously switch from all three of his weapon's current forms, regardless of what Take Over he is in. He may switch from Armageddon to Nidhogg, or perhaps Vita and Mors as the Black Devil, along with any other option he may have.
Strengths:- Switching is instant.
- Adds variety to his combat style with each form.
- The most viable part is he now has access to the spells for each weapon. He could be The Black Devil casting Divine Radiance, or the White Angel using Drill of Armgaeddon.
Weaknesses:- Cannot benefit from the actual weapon's Abilities such as Summoned Swords.
- Cannot benefit from Energy Matching.
- It looks quite ridiculous being a demon holding twin white swords.
- Cannot Spirit/Fusion Merge until he switches back.
- Switching is instant.
Spells:
D-Rank Spell Name: Energy Matching
Rank: D
Duration: Passive
Cool Down: N/A
Type: Offensive, Self-Supportive
Description: Each weapon designed for it correlated form shares the same Energies of Holy, Unholy, and Chaos Energies with not only the wielder, but the blade as well. Within the blade contains each of the three energies, and they are expelled with each Ability and Technique. So long as the weapon with the corresponding energy match, the wielder Deniel is granted a very small bonus in certain areas that relate to his form.
Should he be wielding Vita and Mors within the White Angel, including his S rank spell, he is given a 25% increase in Speed.
Wielding the demonic blade Armageddon, The Black Devil including the S rank has a strength boost of 25%.
And should the Nephalem have his keepsake black katana within his hands, he is granted both bonuses.
Strengths:
- Boosts match with each Take Over's roles and primary stats.
- No Magic Power necessary.
- Always active with few exceptions.
Weaknesses:
- He must be wielding the sword(s) to gain access to the bonuses.
- If his Magic Power is depleted, the bonuses cannot be received.
- Each bonus is quite small, and gives only a single stat boost.
- Deniel cannot benefit from any boost should his weapons and Take Over not match.
C-Rank Spell Name: Return
Rank: C
Type: Tactical
Duration: Instant
Cool Down: 3 posts.
Description: Opening his palm as if the sword were actually inside of it, Deniel's current sword and whatever its form decomposes itself to be very small forms of Holy, Unholy, or Chaos Energy depending on its current form and then make their way into the palm of its master. Materializing itself as if out no where, Deniel's sword returns to his hands regardless of the distance created between the two.
Strengths:
- Instant. Returning the sword takes almost no time at all.
- Can be used regardless of distance.
- Useful in case his weapon cannot be reached from where he is currently standing.
Weaknesses:
- Even if it costs 0 Magic Power, it cannot be used if Magic Power has been depleted.
- If he manages to lose his blade again, there is a small amount of time before he can actually wield it once more.
- Can only be used if Nidhogg's current form matches his Take Over.
- Cannot be used if Nidhogg is broken.
B-Rank Spell Name: Stinger/Blade of Light/Nephalem Blade
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Duration: All have 5 post Durations.
Cool Down: All 6 post Cool Downs.
Description:
Stinger: Enchanting the Armageddon sword with a small coating of Unholy Energy, though this one does not deal bonus damage, but rather increases the sword's range. When not in use, Armageddon only appears to be having a mysterious red glow surrounding its edges, but each and every cut made by the Black Devil will have a large extension of its blade with a ghostly blade performing the exact same cut with the same precise angles, and deals the same amount of damage and bonus damage applied to the blade, but adds on an extra range between 5 to 40 meters. The Black Devil can chose, in his mind, just how far the blade extends for each and every cut.
Blade of Light: Quite literally, as the name states, the blades Vita and Mors become that of "light," though not quite literally. The White Angel is unable to control the matter form of light in his spells, however, by using several tricks of the fact that Holy Energy can pass through solid matter, it enhances the twin blades to be able to quite literally pass through defenses. This includes swords attempting to parry, shields, and armor. Spell shields will still have everything retained, as Holy Energy cannot pass through Magic. However, swords and spells enhanced by Magic defenses are still penetrated straight through.
Nephalem Blade: Nephalem Blade is the third and final sword-enhancing spell of the B Rank Spell slot for the Nephalem Sword Art. While the other two are focused on defenses and parrying, the Nephalem Blade is a mobility and damage focused spell, similarly to how the Take Over itself usually combines the two. While Nephalem blade is active, if Deniel is not within melee range of any said target, he will instantly blink to them while performing a cut. This is voluntary, and if he is within melee range, he cannot perform any of these blinks. The maximum distance Deniel can travel is up to 75 meters away. Nephalem Blade is most useful for assassinating multiple targets, as he can blink anywhere in his surroundings.
Strengths:
- Devil's Charge moves much faster than even the speeds capable of Deniel's White Angel form.
- If all six copies hit his opponent, they will be hit for B rank damage six times.
- Divine Radiance is quite a simple, but powerful and does well with a silence and Purify stacks.
Weaknesses:
- The attack with Devil's Charge can still miss.
- Any one of Deniel's clones he makes can miss as well.
- Any clone can also be destroyed as well by one B rank spell.
- Deniel can only direct his clones to do the one job of attacking a person. And once a target is selected, he can't take it back.
A-Rank Spell Name: Decimate/Divine Wrath/Nephalem Slash
Rank: A
Type: Offensive
Duration: Decimate Lasts a total of 6 posts.
Divine Wrath will take a post to charge up before it is actually activated. Once it has, only a quarter of a second will pass by in real time.
Nephalem Slash will last until Deniel has cut, regardless of a hit or miss.
Cool Down: This A rank slot has a 7 post Cool Down.
Description:
Decimate: The Black Devil enhances the sword Armageddon to have all of its strikes be capable of shattering through defenses A Rank or below for spells, go right through swords attempting to parry it (though not breaking them), and deal tripled damage to shields and armors. This ability serves as kind of a foreshadowing to the Cleave of Death spell.
Divine Wrath: Holding on to one of his holy swords momentarily, Deniel begins to channel with them and himself an enormous quantity of Holy Energy straight into his swords, his legs, and his wings. Immense pressure of power can be felt within a very large vicinity, and the few feet around Deniel begin to tremble as if shaken by an earthquake. Once all Holy Energy has been channeled for a post, the speed of Deniel kicks in. Moving himself and his blades so swiftly, so immeasurably fast, which is added on to the speed of himself as the White Angel or any other of his Take Overs, that anyone below an S rank will be unable to even know what had just happened until it is all over. For within the span of about a quarter of a second in their perspective, to Deniel everything is moving so slow that it is almost frozen. He is then free to perform any action he wishes, but is unable to cast any other spell during the very short duration of Divine Wrath. With the speed he is moving, only S ranks will be able to see a blurry figure, and still not keep up with him, and even mighty H ranks will see nothing more than a blur. Divine Wrath is complicated, because one question bears to mind: is the perception of foes altered, or is Deniel truly going that fast? In a way, it is both. The perception of foes is not altered, but Deniel himself is given an altered perspective. He is moving so fast that everything around him appears frozen, and although it seems as though he is walking normally, or cutting normally, he is in reality performing it faster than real time can keep up, thus creating the illusion to himself that his speed has not increased--and that he can maintain control of--but to his opponents it is exponentially increased. The maximum distance he can travel while in Divine Wrath is 150 meters before it times out, which means in a way his speed can be calculated. The only sort of offensive attacks he can perform while in a Player versus player situation would be a single strike of his sword, and the damage on it will be reduced to A rank spell damage. Of course, if there are more than one targets, he will be able to strike many of them given his speed before it times out. However, one strike is all he gets in player versus player situations.
Nephalem Slash: Nidhogg slash makes Deniel next attack with Nidhogg deal bonus A rank damage, apply 10 stacks of Chaos, and have the ability to cut things 150 meters in the direction he cuts. In other words, anything that is within 150 meters in a 180 degree cone in front of Deniel is cut, both across and to the side of him.
Strengths:
- Can't be kept up with. Even if a person could have the sight or reflexes to see through dimensions, Deniel is untraceable.
- False stealth. Some people might get the idea he's using some form of stealth or camouflage, when in reality he's so fast they can't see him.
- Deniel has the ability to do as many strikes as he can to a person while he's moving faster than they can keep up with.
Weaknesses:
- Nidhogg Slash can still miss, even though it's hard to dodge.
- As awesome as Divine Wrath is, Deniel's damage while he is going that fast is cut in half, meaning all of his hits will deal A rank damage instead.
- In addition, the D rank passive while Divine Wrath is active is de-activated.
- Drill of Armageddon can hurt quite a bit: this includes allies.
S-Rank Spell Name: Spirit Merge/Fusion Merge
Rank: S
Type: Offensive, Self Supportive
Duration: Each Spirit Merge form and Spirit Fusion will last for the remainder of its Take Over.
Divine Divide's stat reduction lasts for 3 posts.
Cleave of Death can last up to 2 posts, but once Deniel takes a swing, hit or miss, it will be gone afterwards.
Divine Compression lasts until the spell/being is gone from existence. Which is usually done in under a post.
Cool Down: Spirit Merge/Fusion has a 20 post Cool Down.
Cleave of Death and Divine Compression both have 8 post Cool Downs.
Devil's Wrath and Divine Divide cannot be used on the same target for 5 posts.
Description: Deniel and Nidhogg's bond has grown strong enough to the point where their spirits can merge together to become one powerful being. Deniel's soul, the soul of Nidhogg, and the soul of whatever Take Over form Deniel is in merge, and from it comes a brand new level of a Full Body Take Over. Spirit Merge and Fusion Merge has three different effects, and the effect is decided on which Take Over Deniel is currently in.
A weird image may conjure up in someone's head when they imagine a Devil and a dragon merging together to create one being. Deniel and Nidhogg merge with The Black Devil Take Over, to create on powerful and destructive being.
The True Black Devil
- Picture 1:
- Picutre 2:
One might also expect Deniel to become even more destructive and mindlessly enraged in this form. In reality, he is not. With the pureness of Nidhogg's mind, Deniel is much more sane in this form than in his Black Devil. In fact, Deniel will act much more like himself, and be even less triggered to anger. And in spite of that, Deniel is still stronger.
The Spirit Merged form of Deniel and Nidhogg with his Black Devil form changes it almost entirely. The most noticeable thing is Deniel's molten-covered body. The lava-like appearance that had only been on Deniel's chest, covered up by a piece of armor, is now all over his body. His wings appear to be almost torn, but they still work. In addition, one of Deniel's horns is missing. Another noticeable thing is Deniel's lack of armor; all of it has been destroyed in the Spirit Merge Process. On Deniel's chest is a red amulet, almost like the one that was on his crown in his Black Devil Take Over. Another significant change is Deniel's arms: he now has four of them. That leads to more punches and more tons of damage. Deniel has also appeared to have grown a tail, one with several spikes running down it. And finally, from the looks of it...he's got two demon-like faces on his knees...and his crotch. They don't talk, though. Because that would be weird.
In terms of height, Deniel doesn't get any taller than he is. In fact, since his Black Devil Take Over gave him two extra inches in height because of the soles on the boots, he seems to have gotten shorter by two inches, not counting his wings. He's a lot more muscular, though, gotta' love that. Check out those biceps.
Passive ability:
Devil's Wrath: As a passive ability, every first attack against a target will be covered in a massive amount of Unholy Energy, and thus deal bonus A rank damage. This applies to physical attacks, weapon attacks, and magic attacks. This passive ability is there for sheer brutality and damage; The Black Devil's specialty. Devil's Wrath cannot be used on the same target for a short duration. However, that doesn't mean Deniel can't use it again: he can use it on a different target.
Spell:
Cleave of Death: Cleave of Death is the spell Deniel can use only if he is in this Spirit Merged form. Deniel charges an insane amount of Unholy Energy into Armageddon, and it causes his next attack to deal bonus B rank damage, and be able to pierce through an S rank form of defense. This includes shields and spells. Cleave of Death also applies 7 stacks of Bloodlust.
The White Angel: When Nidhogg and Deniel merge their spirits in his White Angel form, it comes out as...
The True White Angel
- Picture 1:
The dragon that Deniel has Merged with certainly changed the initial look of his armor to be more draconian, while still retaining its angelic look. His entire set of glorious white and blue armor has changed almost completely, with new sets of gauntlets, greaves, wings, and even a new helmet. Despite the look that he has, Deniel actually does not carry on any properties of a dragon, save for the tail it is all merely armor to cover his body. Thus, he does not suffer from any additional damage inflicted by dragon slayers, as he is merely an angel with enhanced armor and powers. His white shining armor has lost its blue orb gems, but has gained a golden trim to various areas such as the armor around his feet, his upper thighs, and in various parts of his now dragon-like wings. The dragon helmet that he has moves and has facial expressions as if it were an actual face, but is nothing less than a helmet. Deniel's face still lies underneath it, but his hair has grown significantly, as shown while it comes out of the back of his helmet and all the way down towards his waist. The gaps in his armor appear to have toughened white flesh, and that is actually the flesh of Deniel. Showing that he has not physically becoming a dragon due to the fact that they are not scales, this toughened and rough white flesh is what lies underneath his thick layer of armor.
Passive Ability:
Divine Divide: Whenever Deniel lands an attack on someone (Ally or enemy), whether its through a physical attack, weapon, or spell, he can then cut one of their stats in half for a short duration. This is done by, whenever Deniel attacks someone, the armor at his chest and his shoulders suddenly glow, and Nidhogg's voice is heard, shouting out: "DIVIDE!" Once that happens, a person will feel one of six stats being cut in half. This is dependent on the number of a six-sided dice that is rolled.
1. Strength.
2. Physical Endurance.
3. Speed.
4. Magical Endurance.
5. Senses.
6. Stamina.
Depending on the number rolled, that person's stats will then be cut in half. Their current stats. Meaning if they already have a debuff, then it will affect the current stacks, and pretty much stack with the debuff. H ranks are the only exception to this spell. Instead of half, their stats will be cut by 15%.
Spell:
Divine Compression: Divine Compression can only be used on spells, or beings summoned by spells, such as Celestial Spirits. Deniel holds out one of hands, and targets a spell/being summoned by a spell. Then Deniel begins to squeeze his hand into a fist, decreasing the size of the target in half until it completely vanishes from existence. If used on a Celestial Spirit or a Summoned Being, they won't die...they'll just be sent back from where they were summoned. Any H rank spell won't have the ability to be compressed, so instead it will be cut down into an S rank spell instead.
Fusion Merge: Finally, there is Fusion Merge, a spell that can only be used when Deniel is in his Nephalem Full Body Take Over.
While Nidhogg does not have the ability to fuse with the spirit of a Nephalem, he does have the strength fuse with The Black Devil and the White Angel. And since both Full Body Take Overs are on his back in spirit forms while Deniel is in a Nephalem Take Over, Nidhogg can fuse with them both.
Both spirits on Deniel's back are merged with Nidhogg, so both spirits take on the form of Spirit Merge. So in a way, Deniel has them both active at the same time. And that's exactly what is happening.
The only new thing to Deniel is the fact that has now has access to Divine Compression, Divine Divide, Devil's Wrath, and Cleave of Death. He doesn't need a different Full Body Take Over.
Strengths:
- Cleave of Death is a very powerful spell that can deal tons of damage.
- Divine Compression can get rid of some annoying, or very powerful spells.
- Sprit/Fusion Merge are extremely powerful spells that are risk and reward. Despite a high cost totaling up, they can do so many beneficial things.
- For each of the Spirit Merges, 20% is added to the Full Body Take Over's durability Threshold, making it to be a total of 665 for The Black Devil, and 630 for the White Angel, and 670 for Fusion Merge.
Weaknesses:
- Cleave of Death cannot stack with Devil's Wrath.
- Spirit/Fusion Merge can only be activated if Deniel is 5 posts or more into the duration of a Full Body Take Over.
- In Fusion Merge, Divine Divide and Devil's Wrath cannot occur at the same time.
- In Fusion Merge, Cleave of Death and Divine Compression share a Cool Down. Deniel can't acivate one after the other.
- If Deniel's Durability Threshold is broken, then the fight is pretty much over. His body will be in almost no condition to fight, and even if he tries, he is on the verge of death.
