Name: Montague Lowell
Gender: Male
Age: 22
Birthday: August 9th
Sexuality: Straight
Special Characteristics: Nothing too special about him, besides always having a sheath by his side despite not always having a weapon in it.
Personality: Extroverted. This is the biggest description of Monty for sure. Whether he’s in a library, a field, a latrine? Everywhere is fair game for him to go up and start a conversation with someone no matter what the situation is. This has led him to sometimes become a chatterbox and an annoyance to some if they are trying to do their job, and he’s just there going off on another tangent. This can lead to some problems when they’re meant to be sneaking around, and he doesn’t seem to care about the job.
Another interesting trait of his is that Monty is too courageous to care about the risks involved in a job, often skipping over the minor details just to get it done sooner. He’d rather had to re-plan during a job than to plan ahead of the job and find that there was no point to it. This has led to some problems in the past, but overall it’s not bee a real problem for Monty to get the job done.
There are a couple of downsides to Monty’s personality however. While he is bold, extroverted, and usually risk-free it has led him down a path of some bad psychological issues such as raging kleptomania, which tends to dominate in jobs and in busy streets. During this time he usually disappears on friends to go grab just anything that he can find, and just throw it into a pocket dimension for later use. This has also led to him becoming a huge hoarder, which he doesn’t like to talk about. Though this hoarding has led to his pocket dimension having a lot of cool weapons and shields.
On the plus side, he’s always someone who is up for any kind of adventure and journey, and he’s always got a positive outlook on every single situation they’re in. He’s also very good at making really bad puns and jokes to try and make the situation just that little bit better, or at least take their minds off their potential doom.
When it comes to fighting, Monty prefers to be up close and personal. And if he cannot be up close and personal then he’ll just throw insults and taunts at people to make them get closer to him. This is where he begins to shine as a fighter.
Leading jobs means he leads from the front. He is always the first to go in, and always the last to get out of there. Making sure that his team doesn’t die at the hands of their enemies is priority number one, and priority number two is that they have a lot of fun. As long as these two targets are met then Monty feels that he is doing a good job as a leader.
Under a leader however he is compliant, yet a little impatient. He is someone who prefers to get stuck into a job and doesn’t really want to wait around for someone to think of a plan. Either they should’ve thought of it sooner, or they should think about it during the job.
One final note about Monty is that his morality is ambiguous, seeing as that he doesn’t mind taking from people. Goals, and adventure are more important than the morality choices of life and death.
Likes: Adventure: Who doesn’t like a bit of adventuring here and there? Monty thrives off the idea of going to places and looking for things to do.
Romantic: No, not the lovey-dovey stuff. Instead the romantic era paintings and music. Something about classical-era music and the paintings remind him of his youth.
Fancy footwork: Dancing, duels, and anything of the variety requires good footwork, and Monty can appreciate someone who knows how to use this.
Bad jokes: Jokes in general are good, but bad jokes are the epitome of humour.
Dislikes: Being caged up: Monty doesn’t like just standing around and doing nothing, and being under house arrest, or in jail really puts him in a bad place.
Badly timed jokes: Too soon man, too soon…
People with no sense of humour: When people can’t take a joke, or they get angry very quickly it does tend to put Monty in a bad mood. He tends to avoid these kinds of people.
Motivations: Finding the perfect weapon: As someone who likes using swords and shields, Monty wants to be able to try and find sets that will suit his finesse.
Trading with the world: Monty wants to eventually be able to set up a trading empire, shipping goods across the country and using what he has acquired from other ships to make a profit.
Settle down: Finding someone who goes on adventures with him is great, but everyone needs to eventually settle down in life, no?
Fears: The deepest depth of the ocean: Swimming is fine, and being on a boat is fine. But being pulled down to the bottom of the sea? No thank you!
Losing to another melee fighter: Even if having some of the best weapons in a pocket dimension, still losing to someone else would be a major drawback on his self-esteem.
Becoming mute: Losing the ability to talk would seriously hamper a lot about him, and would cause him to become incredibly depressed.
