It's barking again! - Solo

The message for this job had sent Jacklyn to this town yesterday. Sadly no matter how much he wanted to see the world he feared what others may do to him. More so of his new guild and their members if they knew he couldn't see during the day time. Honestly deep down he felt that they already knew but didn't care on this matter so long as he is of use. As the sun was raising in the sky it woke Jacklyn from the pain it caused him. Even with his bandages on his eyes always hurts when the sun manages to wake him up. Preferring to wake up in a dark or shaded place so the pain can be slowly start to feel as if it wasn't there. This however would just mean his work started earlier today is all nothing more.

Still half asleep and a bit grumpy from the sudden wake up from nature Jacklyn cursed silently. Slothfully getting up and out of bed as he went down into the inn below much to the surprise of the innkeeper. About to say something to Jacklyn but afraid to do so the female innkeeper made a tiny meek as he approached her. Hearing her squeak as he walked near her Jacklyn spoke in a sleepy and rather gruff sounding voice. "Lady if you want something ask for it. I have no time for long talks I got a job to do; so make it short if you do say anything to me." Without any other words Jacklyn walked behind the counter while putting down the money for the drink he got as he walked to the innkeeper. Seconds later walking out of the inn he had slept in the night before. As he was leaving the female innkeeper yelled at him to stop and out of being sleepy he did so.

Honestly Jacklyn had thought that this meek little innkeeper was to shy to talk. The very fact she told him to stop had puzzled him slightly as to why she did so. If he wasn't so tired he would have kept walking away to go do his job and get this over with as early as possible. Anyhow he had till night fall tomorrow to get the job turned in to the client and get payed. He just came here yesterday to be done a day early so he could have a day to himself if possible. So without much thought he decided to listen to her and what she had to say to him even if he was not honestly interested in it. Sighing in a deep and gruff voice that still a bit of a sleepy tone to it Jacklyn spoke up again. "What is it lady you seem shy yet you told me to stop for some reason. If you don't mind am in a rush so be quick if you can possibly do so."

Shuffling around nervously the young innkeeper spoke up in a mousy little voice as she spoke. "S-sorry to b-bother you sir but if y-you don't mind m-my bar being h-harassed by b-bandits every so oft ..." After hearing the women and her stuttering plea for help Jacklyn had already decided not to help. That was a job for mercenary guild not a dark mage and anyway all he would do slaughter everyone in sight. Cutting the young innkeeper off mid way into her little cry for help Jacklyn spoke his reply. "Sorry lady but my answer is already no from what you have said so far. Anyhow am blind so what use could I be to that end anyway?" Getting angry at him the young inkeeper ran up to him and took the booze he had recently bought away from him.

Already started out on a bad note today and not really taking it well Jacklyn grew a temper. Trying to stop the young innkeeper from taking the drink he had payed for instead of stealing. Jacklyn had grown rather irritated with all of this and how the innkeeper took what he payed for. Not being able to see really made getting that drink back sorta hard at the moment. Still he had to give it a shot to at least do something to get back the booze he had just bought. His voice rather deep and slightly gruff from just waking up had a tone of anger seething within his words. "Look lady in case you didn't know am not your average person here am a mage. So please just give me what I payed for and I will be on my way no trouble for anyone." Even as the young innkeeper listened to his words she stood strong in her conviction to defy Jacklyn. After he was done speaking she had a few words of her own to say about what he had said to her. "I-i knew that y-you are a mage s-sir that was w-why I a-asked you f-for h-help. Yet ..."

Not hearing more of her words for the time being Jacklyn decided it would be best to play along then deceive her later. So he lied to her as he spoke in his deep and rough yet slightly harmonized voice. "Fine i'll help if it means I get my drink back and all my drinks free till I leave; sound fair to you lady?" Not really one for talk unless he wanted either information or was honestly interested in the conversation. Jacklyn was however getting better at doing business deals with people to get his way. Thinking it over for a tiny little bit the innkeeper gave back the drink to Jacklyn but stated this to him. "I'll g-give you y-your drink back b-but nothing I-Is free till t-those bandits a-are gone and t-the drinks are f-free this one t-time only deal?" Better than nothing; Jacklyn was happy to have his drink back so making an empty promise of helping her Jacklyn took off never planning to return here.

An hour after leaving that annoying innkeeper Jacklyn decide he wasted enough time stalling. It was time to do as he came he for and get his job done with. So not wanting to delay it any longer Jacklyn went to go meet with his client so he could get the details of what to do. Walking to the place he was told to go meet this client of his Jacklyn got out a bag of sweets. Slowly eating a piece of a cupcake he had just bought no to long ago before he had left to go see this client of his. Taking his time both getting to the client and eating his cupcake of his Jacklyn stumbled every so often. About a hour after setting off to go see this client Jacklyn arrived at the lady's house lucky she was home at the time being. It didn't take very long for Jacklyn to be briefed on everything in all honesty it was a rather short visit taking about ten minutes.

Having his job parameters and the location of where to go Jacklyn waited for night fall in case thing went sour. Knowing the history of his luck Jacklyn may have a challenge in front of him. Even if not so it would be best to think of all possibilities even if you don't like what you think of happening. Getting prepared for the night that lay ahead of him Jacklyn went to go get more sweets. Waiting for a few hours he had gotten bored just waiting for night to fall as he sat. Deciding that he would just come back to the target location when the night finally fell. His boredom won over and Jacklyn went to go have some fun while he waited for nightfall. Seeing how he was on a job fight would have to wait for the time being so he went to go find a party planned for tonight. As everyone knows that the best parties are always at night time.

A few hours had past away and night time was closing in fast. Just another few minutes and night would fall letting Jacklyn see the world with his own eyes once more. Yet that time wasn't now so he had to wait just a bit longer to set out on his mission. Sill it did mean he should at least get ready for things like for instance getting more sweets as he ran out already. Taking about five minutes to go shopping and buy the sweets he loves so much; night had fallen in that time. Still people had seen him here in this town so he had to keep playing as they blind guy for now. Anyhow he decided to go to the place the lady said that the dog may be located. After Jacklyn found his way there he noticed it was rather silent at the time being. Soon that ended as a loud bark was heard and not from some small little animal either. This beast was large that much could be heard in the beast bark alone now to see how large it really was. As Jacklyn took of his bandages he seen that this dog was rather huge as if bred for war or inspiring terror; possibly both.

Either way this taking this beast on was not going to be an easy task like the mission had seemed to be. Here Jacklyn had taken this job thinking it easy money at the time being. Now with this beast of a animal in front of him Jacklyn had to think otherwise on the matter. There was no way killing this dog was going to be an easy task for most people. No wonder the lady had wanted a dark mage to help her get rid of this beast she was wise to do so. Legal mage's would try to control this beast but dark mage's knew better than that. Creature's of war can't be controlled they can merely be imprisoned or killed; that is the only way to control such a beast. Taking pity for a brief moment at the thought this beast had seen his last day alive. Still Jacklyn had a job to do and this beast even if not the target was going to be a fun time fighting it.
