Part-Time (Job: Solo)

The sunset peaked over the mountain the distance. An alarm lacrima gently beeped from inside his pocket, bringing him to the waking world. It was around 5'o'clock in the morning, and the over-night train to Crocus was nearly at its destination. Rolling to the side of the bed-car's padding, Aquar pulled the covers off of his tired body, squinting at the light peeking through the blinds of the window. Yawning, he fixed his hair and made his way to the bathroom to wash his face and do the normal morning stuff. The train arrived at it's destination and he was already fully dressed in a sleeveless black turtleneck and dark blue jeans. Moving out of the luxury-class car and onto the street, he looked around. 'It's on Elm Street...' he thought to himself. Lit by the dim morning light, Aquar spotted a street-sign in the distance, labeled Elm Street. That must be it. Strolling down the street, relishing the pureness of a good rest and the cool, morning air, Aquar turned down the street. After a block or two of walking, he stopped at the cafe, a cute, French-like place with most of its seating outside.

Standing outside were a couple of other mages, who Aquar assumed, also took the job, and the store owner, fiddling with the lock at the storefront. After a minute or two of trying to get the door open, the feeble, old man turned to the crowd of mages and said, "Oh ho, so many of you showed up! Come inside and look at the outfits." He looked excited, nonetheless. Aquar eagerly walked in, almost too excited for this job. He was going to enjoy this, flirting with complete strangers with no backlash.

Inside the shop was a 'chic'ly decorated room, with several tables strewn about and a coffee bar with a window to the kitchen in the back. Off to the right of the main room, stood an oak side door, which the owner led the mages into. A couple of mages gasped as they walked in, awe-stuck with how LARGE this closet was on the inside. "Choose any!" the director exclaimed with a wide grin. Oh god. Browsing the hallways of the wardrobe, Aquar picked up a few outfits that interested him. Sitting down in a changing area, he looked through them. A butler outfit, too basic; a swimsuit, too simple; a wolf-morph costume, too edgy. Eventually stumbling across an outfit that, fits, his needs. Slipping on the simple outfit, he wandered to the wait station, waiting for any early-morning customers.

After a short, five minute wait, a few kids, loudly heckling about the cafe with funny maids and butlers that serve you no matter how badly you act. The kids, barely tall enough to look over the waiting counter, walked up to Aquar as one of them announced, "I want a table!" before aggresively ringing the silver bell on the counter. Aquar looked down at them, puzzled, but giving a welcoming smile. "Come right this way," he said, 'What the fuck are these kids doing here," he thought. He led them to the table closest to the building, directly to the right of a bed of flowers. Now feeling quite awkward in his revealing getup, Aquar handed each of them a kids' menu, full with crayons and coloring sheets. Rolling his eyes, he took a notepad and pen out of his belt and prepared to take the kids' orders. "I can't read," the one who asked for a table exclaimed, slamming the table. The others nodded, not in agreement but because they could not either. "Alright," Aquar started, having to go over the menu at least twice for each member of the clique before they completely understood, and then over it again as they struggled to choose what to eat. After what felt like an hour (and what was probably an hour), Aquar pulled the order off of the notepad and stuck it on the chef's order lists. He then returned to the waiting station for the next oncoming customer.

Three teenagers walked up to the waiting desk, aggressively whispering to each other with wide grins on their faces. Two girls and a guy, they walked up to the desk and one of them stepped forward, "Table for four," intense eyebrow wiggle, "And you're invited," one of the girls said. Aquar narrowed his eyes, then smiled, leaning on the desk, "This way," he said, grabbing three menus in the process. He led them to the table right of the kids, pulling each's chair out for them and pushing them in as they sat down. "What would like to drink?" he said with a wink. Soon after, he left to to kitchen to pick up the kid's orders. He delivered it to the kids who now were standing on the table and play-fighting. After lightly commanding them to sit down and handing them their food, he walked back to the teenager's table to take their orders.

Following some loud giggling, one of the teenages, the guy said with a forced wink, "Do you live on the coast of the Thennas Sea, because you're the only ten I see." Trying hard to suppress a laugh, Aquar moved close to his ear, bare chest against his back an sending electric current between the two. "What's your order," he whispered, surprising sensually despite its connotations. The teenager blushed hard, before stammering out, "Th-the ruben." Aquar moved on to each of the other teenagers, repeating the process, leaning over their backs and pointing to the menu, suggesting dishes for them to eat. Aquar, finishing their orders, walked back to the kitchen, delivering the teenager's order to the chef, before coming back with their drinks. Checking the time, he walked back to the waiting counter. It was around 8:30.

The kids soon finished eating, forgetting to pay or give a tip. Sighing, seeing the former schoolkids off, Aquar leaned on the waiting desk, sighing. "No more kids today," he thought to himself, believeing that there would be none more. He thought and he thought wrong. A different group of kids, this time even younger came up to the waiting desk, demanding to be seated. They chanted as Aquar brought them to their table and as Aquar passed kids' menus around one of them commented, "Why is he in a bathing suit?" So innocent. Aquar, after having to comically explain what each item on the menu was to them, took their order and brought it to the kitchen, and with a few sweet words with the chef, brought the teenager's orders to their table. Walking back to the teenager's table, he gave each one of them their food. He even feed one of them, ruffling their hair, afterwards. Aquar then headed back to the waiting desk.
