Magic
Primary Magic: Battle Mage
Secondary Magic: N/A
Caster or Holder: Caster
Description: Sergals are not commonly magical, but for those who are, they are taught how to use it at an early age. It is called Silves’ Prowess, a homage to the great general of the past. Even though her days are long over, the days of the sergals are not. The magic revolves around physical add-ons, if you will. Long, dark shrouded claws, empowering punches, tail blades, and shroud walls. Wayden, born a magical sergal, may use these abilities at any time just by channeling magical energy into the body part he wants to strengthen for a next attack. However, with this powerful physical magic comes a physical cost. Once casted, any of Wayden’s abilities will backfire after an amount of time if he can’t hit anything. “The magic is meant for fighting, not just using and sitting around” ~An old sergal saying to explain to small sergals why they shouldn’t use it except in training and self-defense. The magic itself is capable of enhancing Wayden in battle in a number of ways, such as clouding the battlefield with black mist and making his physical attacks stronger. Within Wayden resides a magical storage, a hold that keeps his magical energy in place. When he draws upon it, the magic shoots out to what ever body part he wishes to enhance, but once the magic has left, it changes. It's the same as breathing in oxygen, after a period of time, the changed magic returns to Wayden as damage, harming him.
Strengths:
• The magic is very good when it comes to fighting hand-to-hand.
• Wayden deals a lot of damage, and can dish out a stun if need be.
• The magic if fast and doesn’t require much time to prepare or use.
Weaknesses:
• This magic is awful at fighting at range.
• Because of how easily it is used, the magic dissipates just as easily, usually after a single blow.
• Wayden will hurt himself if he can’t hit an opponent with his magic after a period of time.
• While he possesses much offense, he has no defensive abilities.
Lineage: Spirit Warrior: A legendary war hero was once severely wounded in battle, losing control of his arms and legs. His life was rough beyond belief, but his spirit remained high and strong. He awoke one day to discover he had a strange white aura around him; and that he could move his arms and legs again. He was so overcome with joy he flailed his arms about, causing parts of the aura to shoot off of him and actually cause damage to his room. He didn't know how, but his spirit somehow manifested outside of his body, allowing him to use it for walking and combat. It wasn't permanent, but he did learn to control this new ability and bring it out to his will. It’s said his descendants are the only ones known to be able to do such a thing.
Ability: The user forces out their spirit to emanate around them in a white (or black if you’re a dark mage) aura, allowing them to manipulate it in various ways.
Usage: Upon usage, the user loses the ability to cast any of their magic abilities. Instead, for once per thread and for 5 posts or until destroyed they can manipulate their spirit aura to fight their foes in a variety of ways like a puppet. The aura protects the user from all damage but will take it itself. The spirit is vulnerable and not affected by armor or defensive abilities, having the default HP of the user’s rank. If the spirit is destroyed the user will take 50% of their current HP in damage. All damage it deals is the user’s rank in spell damage.
Unique Abilities:
• A Sergal Warrior, Phenomenally: Wayden receives a 5% speed buff for each individual enemy he faces at one time. (Up to 20%)
• A Sergal Friend, Phenomenally: Wayden receives a 2% melee damage buff for each individual ally he fights alongside. (Up to 10%)
• Primal Crack: (Only triggers under 10hp.) Wayden sheds aside his mercy and his benevolence, falling to the natural instincts of his species. He gains a decaying health boost of 25, decaying by 5 hp each round, and gains a pain tolerance unheard of. His strength is boosted by 40%, his speed increases by 15%, and evades 10% of all incoming attacks. His health will continue to drop until either his enemy is defeated, he is healed over 40hp, or until he drops unconscious/dead.
Spells
Name: Shroud Slash
Rank: D
Type: Offensive
Duration: Two posts.
Cooldown: Three posts.
Description: Wayden sends magical energy into his paws, firing it out to lengthen his claws immensely. He slashes at an opponent with them, and if it hits, it deals D-rank spelll damage, immediately dissipating afterwards. If he can’t land the spell before two posts have gone by, the magical energy shoots back into him, hurting him for half the amount of damage of the spell. They resemble long black claws, with a blackish-grey mist coming off of them.
Strengths:
• Quick to cast and easy to use.
• Doesn’t hinder Wayden’s movement in anyway.
Weaknesses:
• Backfires against Wayden if he can’t land the spell.
• Only enough durability for one hit.
• Once mid-slash, he can't stop, no matter if anything, friend or foe, is in front of him.
Name Black Punch
Rank: D
Type: Offensive/Supportive
Description: Wayden again channels magical energy into one of his arms, though this time into his upper biceps and triceps, boosting his strength by 15%. The sergal’s muscle there bulges out and turns a dark black, again releasing a blackish-grey mist. Wayden throws a sickening punch, powerful enough to stun an enemy for one turn and deal D-rank spell damage. If he doesn’t land the spell within two posts, the magic shoots back into Wayden and dishes a stun to himself, as well as dealing 5hp D-rank spell damage.
Duration: Instant
Cooldown: Two Posts
Strengths:
• A hefty stun is great while fighting.
• The ability is quick to cast as well as easy to use.
Weaknesses:
• Of course, if Wayden doesn’t land the spell, he takes the stun instead.
• A fist, while not easy, can still be dodged with a bit of skill.
• One hit, and it dissipates, no more, no less.
Name Ether Whip
Rank: D
Type: Offensive
Description: Wayden forces magical energy down his body and into his tail. From there, black blades sprout from the flesh atop his tail, turning it into a long prehensile blade. Wayden whips his tail at a foe, slashing them with the blades on his long tail. Should it hit the enemy, they take D-rank spell damage and bleed, losing 5hp per post for 2 posts. If Wayden can’t manage to hit the enemy within his time allotted, the magic lashes back, and instead of dealing damage, it causes Wayden to bleed 5hp per post for three posts.
Duration: Two posts, and if not landed in that time, Wayden takes the effects of the spell.
Cooldown: Three Posts.
Strengths:
• Bleed damage is great to wither down foes.
• The ability is a quick cast, requiring not a lot of effort.
Weaknesses:
• If Wayden doesn’t hit his foe within two posts, he takes not only the damage the spell gives, but also a heightened bleeding period of three posts instead of two.
• It can be quite hindering to have blades on your tail, and the spell can hit friends if he’s not careful where he swings it.
• The whip itself is more like a slash, and is easily dodged by a vigilant enemy.
Name Sergal Shroud
Rank: D
Type: Stealthy/Supportive
Description: Wayden concentrates his magic into his fur. It turns dark black all over and he sinks low to the ground. From his fur, a black mist/fog arises, reducing the vision of enemies and allies alike on the battlefield, at a circular range of 15 meters from where the spell starts. As soon as Wayden attacks in anyway, or the two post time limit is breached, the fog is immediately dispelled from the area.
Duration: Two posts, or earlier if Wayden attacks.
Cooldown: Three Posts
Strengths:
• Curbing the sight of foes is a great way to gain an advantage.
• The ability is great if he’s trying to sneak around something.
Weaknesses:
• While he can reduce the vision of enemies, he also reduces the vision of allies and himself.
• It’s quite impractical in a large scale battle scenario.
• The spell doesn’t do anything but reduce vision, not offensive whatsoever.
• The shroud dispels if he attacks before the duration ends.
