Description:
The Black Memories are the final experiment done by Mesa's mother and father to invoke the true power of Necromancy inside a human subject. Their plan was to create a lich without ever having to become undead and in a way the succeeded with Mesa. With the Black Memories now within Mesa she became able to see the rift between death and life, and to her horror she began to see shadows all around people some had none while others seemed like they should be choked by them. These shadows Mesa came to know as the left over emotions one has before death and came to call them the Shadows of the Dead. With the Power of the Black Memories Mesa was able to do minor feats of magic but to her dismay she was too weak a mage to contain the Memories properly. Ending with the death of her mother Mesa took on the last two relics her mother left her and used a ritual within the Black Book to call upon her eventual savior from the Rune Knights.
After a night of undead spilling blood once more in front of her a cult eventually found and took her in. There she made a pact with her now Goddess Eris to gain enough power to wipe away the Rune Knights by advancing the power of her Black Memories. This power comes with a price for she cannot unlock more power within her without proving her worth to Eris and in her mind as she is the reason she still lives today she would do anything for Eris. Bolstered by her ability to call upon the physical form of the Shadows of Emotion along with creating twisted magic using those shadows Mesa became not only a lethal marksman but also a force of nature to tear apart all before her.
In combat she leaves all to their devices going right for the enemy as she leaves not a single one untouched razing their souls with her magic. Yet her magic has a devious side to it as well for she can communicate with the Shadows of the Dead and use their info to torture those with heavy regrets or even to bring down those who feel themselves to be in the right no matter what. With her knowledge and shades Mesa will always continue to fight till her last breath as she will always know that death will not claim her until Eris claims her body and soul to be forever hers locked in their coils of eternity.

The Black Book:
The black book is an occult artifact that was left to Mesa by her mother in her last moments alive. The pages are all black in color all writing on the inside is made of invisible burning runes which only Mesa herself or anyone gifted in the occult could see. The cover is highly stylized almost pointlessly yet the info and powers inside the book are very real.
- Black Book:

~ Has a very high offense strength.
~ Is very powerful vs Holy, Light and Angelic nature enemies.
~ Has a very high offense strength.
~ Is very powerful vs Holy, Light and Angelic nature enemies.
Weaknesses:
~ Those with high strength of mind are not so easily beaten by her mind games she can use with this magic.
~ The shades are beings that take on a primary attribute of their chosen emotion and can have those elements eaten.
~ Durability is only really there versus other shadow or unholy users.
~ Has trouble fighting Light, Earth and Flame wielders.

Lineage:
- Black Memories:
Black Memories
Wielder: Mesa.
Description: The daughter of a dark mage and a seer witch Mesa has for the longest time been the tester of her parents experiments into the world beyond death. Due to this her mother bestowed on Mesa the truth of the Black Memories trapping all of the power to see not only the shadows of the dead inside her but also giving her a relic to channel that power through in the form of the gun known as "Sabbath." This research would have been completed and Mesa turned into a seer of the dead had her mother not been killed by the Rune Knights due to her crimes in her magic by both using living subjects and what they called "Child Abuse." With her mother dead and the Rune Knights trying to take her away in the name of saving her Mesa stole her mothers book of magic which also contained Sabbath within the pages. Once she had saved herself through the pact Mesa swore to kill each and every Rune Knight by using the power of the Black Memories to show them each crime they committed and torture them with the emotions of those they killed.
Abilities (Plot Only):
Unwanted Sight: (Passive) All around those she see's Mesa will always see small masses of black mist following them. Each mist is unique in that each is the emotional imprint left behind of those that person has killed. Because of this sight she is able to not only communicate with these mists but also learn about how they died and even gain info from them. This is only really useful in areas outside of combat as talking to an invisible black mist of emotion means possible death due to distraction.
Abilities:
Shadow of Truth: (Passive) Mesa is one who slowly learns of those she fights due to the shadows that surround them. This means that the more she learns the more her magic adapts to someone with her damage against enemies increasing the longer she fights them. This bonus will cap at 50% bonus damage but does require time to reach this point.
After the first three posts of combat with an enemy she begins to raise in damage against them starting at 15% and then increasing by 5% per post till it reaches the cap.
Black Memories: (Passive) Mesa while she is in possession of the gun her mother left her (Sabbath), has the gun's damage rather than basing off of her weapon damage instead counting as spell damage one rank lower than her own. This overrides the damage of the weapon itself and restricts it so that she may not EVER have a weapon besides this one at any point in time. The gun itself does not gain boosted damage from any other sources (Still affected by damage debuffs) and at the same time if she is D-Rank then the weapon deals 1/4th D-Rank damage. The weapon may only EVER be fired four times per post and costs 5% MP to reload at the next post. Bullets fired from this gun are shadow element tinted with unholy. Each bullet fires at 275 m/s. and all damage this gun deals caps at A-Rank damage going no higher than that.
Black Book: (Active) The final relic Mesa's mother left to her child in her dying moments at the hands of the Rune Knights. When she opens this book Mesa is capable of summoning over five different shades at the same time each separate from her spells and each giving her a bonus in her damage with the cap being raised to 100% bonus damage which they give Mesa. Each shade she summons here shares the same name and look of the spell versions apart from them being covered to the point of nearly being obscured in the black mist. The number of shades summoned scales with her rank and each shade shares the name of the real ones. Each shade summoned by this does not deal damage in any way rather each shade summoned from the book gains double the HP of the real ones at the cost of not being capable of attack. (Overrides her other damage bonus passive. And uses their same values.) The spell can only ever be used once per thread and the shades only last for three posts before death and cannot have this extended in any way.
D: 1 Shade. (D-Rank.)
C: 2 Shades. (D-Rank, C-Rank.)
B: 3 Shades. (D-Rank, C-Rank, B-Rank.)
A: 4 Shades. (D-Rank, C-Rank, B-Rank, A-Rank.)
S: 5 Shades. (D-Rank, C-Rank, B-Rank, A-Rank, S-Rank.)
Shades of Blight: (Passive) Whenever Mesa summons one of her shades (One for each Rank.) She gains a minor damage boost for the duration of the shades time on the mortal plane. This boost scales depending on the summoned shades rank. These boosts can stack but will cap at 75% damage bonus even if more shades are summoned.
D: 15%
C: 20%
B: 25%
A: 30%
S: 35%
Black Shadows: (Passive) Mesa herself has lived with the shadows of those she has killed since the day she made her pact to escape the Rune Knights. Due to living around these shadows and her constant research into maybe silencing them she has gained an affinity to unholy based and shadow magics. This means she will take 25% less from Unholy based magic and also 25% less from Shadow magic.
Unique Abilities:
Shades Chains:
Unlike most other summons where they are restricted to only having a few out at once Mesa's Shades act much different. Mesa naturally is able to have 2 shades at once on the field without any negative impacts and at the cost of halving the damage of any successive ones can summon more until she has all five out.
Desperation:
When Mesa reaches below 25% health left she is able to activate this passive which causes her to deal 25% more damage and take 25% less damage while she remains below the 25% HP threshold.
Black Madness:
Due to the effects the Shadows of the Dead have on her mind she is capable of not only resisting most mental effects by 50% halving any duration they might have on her, but also negates any form of mental attacks on her. This immunity is reduced to a 50% resistance too if the mental attack is done by someone two or more ranks above her.
Shadows of the Dead:
The effects of this passive differ based on what kind of thread Mesa is in.
Job:
While in a job thread whenever Mesa kills a target be they an enemy or someone that would have info towards the job she is able to gain info from their spirits. This is done through the shadows as she uses them to learn of what she needs and this cannot be resisted once the enemy is killed.
Plot/Social:
While in a plot based or social thread Mesa is capable of not only seeing those that the person has killed but also using those they have killed to learn about them, Ex, they killed a loved one and so Mesa can learn not only how they were killed but also what the person was like prior to the death. This can be used to find info on someones magic based simply around how someone died to them.
Spells:
☠☠ Signature Spell ☠☠
Name: Black Bullet.
Rank: Same as User.
Type: Offense, Shadow, Unholy.
Duration: Instant.
Cooldown: 3 Posts.
Description: Mesa places a hand on Sabbath letting a spectral chamber appear on the weapon. Inside two different types of bullet are within. Spinning the chamber Mesa has a fifty-fifty chance to choose either bullet. (Uses dice roll function each bullet will be used depending on Even or Odd numbers.)
Black Bullet: The Black Bullet is the strongest shot that Mesa can pump out of her gun which adds a fifth shot to her gun briefly and makes it so that the next shot in her post will deal one rank ABOVE her in spell damage. This Bullet is only used if the dice roll lands an even number.
Blank: If Mesa draws this then her next bullet she fires will deal only half damage and take up one of her bullets leading to her needing to reload sooner for less damage. Only picked if the Dice lands on an Odd number.
Strengths:
~ Can potentially land her a large spike in damage if she rolls correctly.
~ Can be used to psych an opponent out as the Black Bullet is a very dangerous threat.
Weaknesses:
~ If it lands on a blank then Mesa has a very high chance of losing a fight faster due to less DPS.
~ The chance it will land on a Blank is the same as landing on the Black Bullet meaning this is a very unreliable spell.
~ If the Black Bullet misses then she will be in trouble due to missing a very important bullet.
☠☠ D-Rank Spells ☠☠
Name: Shade of Despair.
Rank: D-Rank.
Type: Summon, Shadow, Unholy, Water.
Duration: 3 Posts.
Cooldown: 4 Posts.
Description: Mesa takes the Black Book into her hands slowly caressing the pages as she opens her eyes truly turning them a solid black. After a few moments Mesa herself is clouded in a barrier of pure ebony smoke as in moments the smoke crackles with blue lights and in a moment the sound of crunching bone. One the smoke dissipates all that is left is a tired looking Mesa and a beast thin as bone with flesh that is a clear blue color with it having rather than hands scythe like endings and looking to be a horror. The monster passively increases Mesa's own speed by 15% so long as she is within 10 meters of her. Along with this the beast is always dripping with water from itself which can be eaten by slayers. At a whim once per summon the beast is able to send out two slash cuts of water forwards 15 meter dealing 1/2 D-Rank damage to those in the path of the 3 meter long blades.
- Shade of Despair:
Strengths:
~ This Shade has an easier time against Fire users.
~ Is able to help Mesa get around fast with its boost.
Weaknesses:
~ Is much weaker against Electric and Nature users.
~ The speed boost requires Mesa to stay within range of it to make use of it.
~ The beast is able to be eaten by a Water God/Demon Slayer.
Name: Soul Blaze.
Rank: D-Rank.
Type: Offensive, Shadow, Unholy.
Duration: Instant.
Cooldown: 3 Posts.
Description: Opening her Black Book Mesa holds out her palm sending out a massive wave of black energy in a simple straight line which measures to 5 meters thick and extends to a max range of 15 meters the wave going at 11m/s. Enemies struck by the blast are hit for 1/2 D-Rank damage and then have their soul burned by the shadows for 1/2 D-Rank damage each post for two posts.
Strengths:
~ Can deal massive damage in a line.
~ Is able to blast through walls without damaging the structure.
~ The burn of the soul can be smelled by her Shades alerting them to where their master is.
Weaknesses:
~ Only goes in a straight line.
~ The blast is very easy to see coming so it can be avoided easily.
~ Cannot burn the souls of those with none to begin with dealing only a flat D-Rank amount of damage to them.
~ The blast because it goes through obstacles can hit targets Mesa did not intend to.
Name: Black Hand.
Rank: D-Rank.
Type: Defense, Unholy, Shadow.
Duration: 2 Posts.
Cooldown: 4 Posts.
Description: Raising her Black Book into the air Mesa summons a mindless shade from the abyss. In moments the ground around her is covered in black mist as a hand shaped shade rises from the ground. On either side of this shades "Hand" is an eye with a sideways pupil that always twitches and convulses. This beast is covered in the same black mist from the ground and is capable of blocking any Physical strikes from a D-Rank with ease. The beast can also shield Mesa from one D-Rank spells worth of damage and prevent the effects of said spell from reaching her. The beast is not however omnipresent and can only block a 3m wide and 5m tall area of Mesa and rotates around her at speeds of 10m/s.
Strengths:
~ Can keep Mesa safe from enemies that want to try and get at her with melee by blocking the attacks.
~ Is good for blocking spells that would hold Mesa down.
Weaknesses:
~ Is only really effective versus a D-Rank enemy or mage.
~ The shield is not omnipresent and AOE spells can damage Mesa at the same time as destroying the shield.
~ For fast enemies they can potentially move around the shield to strike her.
Name: Black Round.
Rank: D-Rank.
Type: Offense, Shadow, Unholy.
Duration: Instant.
Cooldown: 3 Posts.
Description: Loading her gun Sabbath with extra mana Mesa prepares a more powerful extra bullet. When fired the bullet flies at the same a normal bullet would at near 275m/s before sending it for the enemy. If this tracker shot hits the enemy the they are not only damaged for D-Rank damage they are also hit with a 25% Slow debuff. This spell follows the same rules as Sabbath and cannot be buffed by any means.
Strengths:
~ Can keep an enemy within range of her other spells and Sabbaths own normal shots.
~ Does not use up one of the shots Sabbath has instead creating a new bullet for use.
~ The bullet flies very fast and makes it harder to dodge.
Weaknesses:
~ She must not only load her gun with extra mana to use this spell but it also takes up time to load it with a new bullet.
~ While the bullet does fly fast it is still easy to dodge if one pays attention to her aim and keeps on the move.
~ The slow is nullified on opponents at least two ranks higher than Mesa herself.
~ Compared to the normal bullets of Sabbath this spell's own damage will fall off quickly.
☠☠ C-Rank Spells ☠☠
Name: Shade of Hate.
Rank: C-Rank.
Type: Summon, Defense, Shadow, Unholy.
Duration: 4 Posts.
Cooldown: 5 Posts.
Description: Opening her book Mesa pulls from the pool of Hate within the shadows of those she has killed. Once enough has been pulled she uses the Black Book to create a physical form for all the hate causing a beast to rise from a pool of shadows in front of Mesa. When the beast rises its form twisted and mangled it has the usual stats for a summon of it's rank. Passively the Shade is able to cause all of those that harm Mesa while this beast is alive to take half the damage they deal to her back to themselves at least three times per summon. Additionally at will the Shade of Hate is capable of pulling an enemy into a void grabbing them with it's scythe like claws and spitting them out 25 meters away from itself forwards this can only happen once per summon and those pulled in take C-Rank and a 1/2 Damage.
- Shade of Hate:
Strengths:
~ The Shade is best used for defense and keeping enemies away from Mesa.
~ This Shade can cause high burst on Mesa to backfire against enemies that would attack her.
~ Is a very handy tool for preventing Melee attackers from getting too close to Mesa in between reloads.
Weaknesses:
~ Enemies two ranks or higher than Mesa cannot be pulled into the void.
~ The damage reflect can be baited by using simple punches which use up the charges.
~ Apart from the defense nature of the abilities this Shade does not deal much damage on it's own.
~ Without Mesa being attacked this Shade cannot reach full usage.
Name: Black Wave.
Rank: C-Rank.
Type: Offense, Shadow, Unholy.
Duration: Instant.
Cooldown: 3 Posts.
Description: In moments Mesa collects Despair into her hands slowly creating a ball of shadows in one hand while she collects space in her other using the Black Book. After a moment the ball is unleashed creating a 10m wide wave of shadows that towers forwards starting at 1m tall and reaching up to 15m tall at the end of the 20m range spell. The wave of shadows and despair travels at 15m/s and deals C-Rank damage upon crashing into an enemy.
Strengths:
~ Is a very quick damage spell.
~ The wave is rather large and can deal some good AoE damage.
Weaknesses:
~ The wave does take a moment to get ready and enemies can take advantage of this to avoid it.
~ The wave while large only travels forwards.
~ The wave will stop at solid obstacles (Buildings larger than human shields ETC.) and not destroy them rather ending its forward charge where it hits.
Name: Black Override.
Rank: C-Rank.
Type: Support, Self, Shadow, Unholy.
Duration: Instant.
Cooldown: 5 Posts.
Description: In an instant Mesa charges her magic into her gun forcing a full reload ahead of the usual time. By doing this Mesa gains four more shots from her gun for that post. When she does this shadow mist covers her hand as she places it on top of her gun Sabbath and a loud clicking noise can be heard as the magic reloads all four bullets ahead of normal.
Strengths:
~ Can upgrade her DPS dramatically in a pinch.
~ Is very strong for 1v1 situations.
Weaknesses:
~ If the four extra shots miss then she wasted more mana than usual to reload her weapon.
~ Without any other bonus damage this spell is very niche in it's use.
~ If the spell is somehow cancelled then it is put on a VERY high cooldown.
