Personality: Merlin is a calm and collected Man when he is travelling the land. He helps out those in need. He has trust issues with new people that he meets. the reason for it stems from his Father Uther Abandoning him for his combat oriented brother Arthur. Exiled from his home with a deep feeling of rejection and sadness within his heart. He wandered the lands for quite a long time until he met up with a band of Mages that were part of Golden Phoenix. He joined them on the journey back to the Guild House it was a long and tough journey but it was exciting watching them defeat enemies and fulfill quests to gain mighty treasures. when they returned that is when he pledged himself to the Guild leader and began his life as a mage and treasure hunter. No more rejection and sadness was clouding his heart. Happiness shined through like the sun and made him a better man for it.
In battle as a leader he calmly surveys the battlefield finding the most dangerous threat and when it is identified he sends his men out to destroy it without hesitation. after that is done he finishes off the rest of the threats and sweeps the battlefield clean. He would sweep up any evil relics and destroy them so that they cannot be used against him. He made all the Dark Guilds Quake with fear as his band of mages scoured the land stopping a lot of the evil done. making it peaceful for a time until evil returns once more. Evil is a Cancer that must be cut out. That is his favorite quote. he knows it well because he has cut out many and evil cancer within this world. He praises the divine each day. He makes sure that all men that are under his command pray before they enter the battle and that is why he wins every time. The divine watches over him.
In battle under a leader he gives his utmost attention and follows there commands to the utmost and performs beyond the expectations that they set for him. He is loyal and Honorable to all of his superiors. he does not talk back and will never go against an order unless it is deemed unjust by him. Chivalry is his code and if it is not Chivalrous he will not follow it. That is what leads to him leaving many and expedition. for the most part all of his Expeditions were Just except for one. it was a merchant escort mission and we guided the merchant to a tomb and he slaughtered one of his own to gain dark powers to create destruction and one of his superiors was in on it with him. so Merlin took over the Expedition and eradicated the threat like he was known to do. Thus saving all of his Friends and Employers in one fell swoop. He was then overjoyed that all of his friends were alive and went off to the nearest tavern to drink the finest spiced apple cider and smoke apple tobacco and dance to a jaunty tune played by the bards. he has been happy ever since and not much will get him down.
Likes: * Dragons. he enjoys dragons because there was a wise one that use to fly around the castle where he grew up and that is when they became friends. that is why he is friendly to all the dragons he sees no matter what the mood they are in.
* Women. He likes women a great deal. his love for women started when the servant of the house Gwen made him cookies and they would spend long afternoons under the oak trees of the Royal Garden. He had many loves in his life but none came close to Gwen. the one he would never see again.
*Magic. He likes magic because old Alec the Royal mage first taught him magic and it was basic and Elementary. Through his travels he tapped into more elaborate and stronger magics. that is why he loves it to this day.
Dislikes: * Knights. he Dislikes Knights because they represent his Father Uther and Brother Arthur and his expulsion and disembarkation from his home and family.
*Drinking. He dislikes drinking because of his Father Uther. when he lived in the family home his Father used to drink and run around with his sword screaming the word dragon and scaring the daylights out of him when he was younger.
*Horses. He dislikes horses because when he was living in the family Home . he was brushing the horses and trying to make friends. During all this his brother scared the horse and it reared up and stomped the ground sending Him flying and luckily Alec was there to summon a barrier to prevent injury. He dislikes horses to this day.
Motivations:
* Knowledge. he is motivated to travel the land to all sorts of places to learn its history, magic , and Lore.
*Spellcraft. He is motivated to Travel all over and speak to those that create Magic Items so that his Understanding of creating and making them rises so that he can make better quality items.
* friendship. He is motivated to go to all cities and magic circles to make friends to fill the hole of loneliness with in him and to repair what was lost.
Fears:
* demonic possession. He is afraid of Demonic Possesion. He traveled to a town controlled by a Dark Guild and saw the Demon Possessed roaming the land killing the Travelers on the road. he was lucky he got away.
*Cursed Artifacts. He is afraid of all items crafted with Evil and Malice. He saw a whole town taken out by a Scythe of Death. He was Glad that he was not in the town of in the outskirts far away.
*Being Poisoned. He was once staying at an Inn called the Adders Tooth in a not so nice town. He ordered the stew alongside another fellow. luckily he waited and saw the other fellow eat and as he finished the bowl he slumped over dead. Merlin was lucky to be alive and now every where he goes he has antidotes.
