    "..."

A child with raven black hair, pale skin and reddish-brown eyes laid there, on a bed, in an unknown place. Dust filled air and a cold temperature, a fluffy yet stale bed greeted his feeble spine, and a harsh pillow to his skull. A thin blanket over his dirty, scratched body. And next to him? Next to him lie his stuffed rabbit, Oscar, and his bags on a chair next to the weak, old bed frame.

This boy went by Ahote, given by his parents. Ah... yes, his parents. They were nothing but faces he had saw the other days, prior to these fateful events. His body was weak, and mind, weaker. His arms would lie limp against the top of the bed sheets, eyes fixing their gaze to the ceiling. It had a foreign scent, this room. He was clearly no longer near Magnolia. Magnolia had... a sweeter smell. But this was no different after last night.

    "...Eh?"

Ahote muttered out weak words, lips struggling to part with one another. He recalled... being lost deep into the woods, around the East Forest of Magnolia Town. Yes, yes. He remembered giving into the fatigue of walking and hiking, back against a tree at night in the thick, lush but dead trees. He remembered starving and dehydrating, on the brink of death. He remembered bags under his eyes from the waking horror of the loneliness, unable to maintain sleep. He also remembered something... soft?

Ahote flinched to the thought, his fingers gliding across the blanket over him with a sudden sensation of deja vu. - He remembered meeting a lady in darkness, and was covered with a blanket. She was a pretty lady, and mused with him until he fell unconscious, into her arms. After that, he resorted to his own dream world, where everything was just as confusing as the reality he had desperately been clawed from. It was the same world of clearness and fog of which he woke from in his old bedroom, in his house, with his mother. It was even foggier this time, clouds filled the sky and the waters were even deeper. It was frightening but he felt an odd sense of comfort from it's darkness.

Ahote sighed and slowly raised himself from the pillow and mattress, a pain in his head and the back-breaking fatigue consuming his body. His head hurt. But he couldn't say it was a headache. "Ouch..." He cupped his hand to his forehead, in hopes of physically soothing the ache, "Wh... where am I?" He asked himself in a small, soft voice as his eyes scanned the room. It seemed worn down, and dark, despite the light falling in from the small window to his side.

He looked around to the same places in silence with an almost-dead expression on his face, it hurt too much to make out any gestures or faces of pain, pleasure, or discomfort. It was odd. He longed for human contact, or even better, the arms of the ones he fell into last night. Was it even last night? Days could of passed by now before he awoke from that state, not realizing how malnourished he truly was, even now. His body was bony and bags still rested beneath his eyes. His flesh still pale, he was left alone in the infirmary.

    "...Hello?"

He called out to no one, in hopes some someone's voice coming to his rescue.

The raven haired girl leaned on the door of the inrimary with a bit of a grimace on her face "Tch when is this boy going to wake up... I have better stuff I could be doing." she had a harsh tone to her voice as she kept her eye on the boy she did not have her cloak on but instead wore her usual blur and white revealing clothing. Her pigtail hung at her side as she took careful watch from a distance. She gently sighed a bit however because she was not asked to watch him but chose to check up on him every now and again due to her interests in humans.

Her eyes widened a bit when she heard him finally speak. He called out for someone and she took this chance to take a step forward. So she could get a better look at him but only to chuckle when she got close enough. She sat down and shook her head with her head rested on the back of her hand "Boy do you look terrible!" she said with a laugh. She eventually sighed however and shook her head more seriously. The boy didn't look that much younger than her as she was only 15. She held out the food that she had been holding "Here, you hungry?.. I got this for myself but you look like you need it more." she spoke in a calmer tone as she held out the food. She loved seeing people in pain and despair but seeing a boy this young show up here without any warning as to were he came from sort of made her actually feel sympathy for once. Her father had left her, only giving her instructions on who to find. She traveled many weeks to get to this guild hall only to find out that the person her father had said would look after her hated her.

She looked at the boy with her big blue eyes with a calm expression before saying something else "What's your name kid?"

The meeting with the boy in the woods ended with his abrupt unconsciousness, which had left him to collapse into the Guild Master’s hold. Famine could have easily left him there, he was a stranger and a small child at that but something else moved her to take his puny form up the heights of Mt hakobe to her nest. At least with this plan she could wait for him to awake, keep him out of the wilds, and make sure he had something to eat so his body would be nourished when he awoke. Though… to her dismay a small little someone was trying to beat her to Famine’s planned task Just as she’d been the last Face he saw when he faded she should be the first he laid eyes on once he awoke...

Through the long shadow enveloping one side of the room opposite of the barred window. Just like that, The shadow magician hopped down from the darkness that had stretched over the dingy infirmary's ceiling, landing at Jade’s side with a crouch so to remain balanced. Rising back to her full, yet still petty, height Famine fixed her palm flat on Jade’s head of dark hair. She abruptly twisted her to face in the other direction…. Away from Ahote in the bed. “His name frankly, is none of your business right now.” Famine murmured, the words hissing through her lips with the chilliness of an autumn morning. “I’d actually appreciate some time undisturbed with him, that was the plan before you walked in, I don’t linger in the dark corners of a room for fun despite what you may think.” Famine was practically shooting Jade off now but not without a word of ‘reassurance’, if you could call it that "I promise you two will have time to play, later.

Whether she’d been able to ward Jade away or not, Famine still turned back to Ahote with her subtle and wry smirk. Leaning against the bar base at the foot of his bed Famine too revealed what she’d brought for him, a small red apple, still fresh and preserved from Magnolia thanks to the exceedingly cold climate here on mt. Hakobe. She spun the fruit around in her nimble fingers before tossing it the boy’s way with a delicate flick of her wrist. “I’d like to know your name first, little boy. There's a few questions you didn’t get to answer for me last night too…”

Right outside the room in the shadows of the guild was a certain Emerald haired Demon  in a variation of his cloak he wore with it being black with blue markings instead of the yellow orange with black. He had his eyes closed and was relaxing against a wall while he guarded the door from the outside, ever since the incedint with Kanix and Famines capture by Heero the slayer had been  extremely wary of newcomers and also made it a point to  stay rather close to the guild master as a body guard. While he stood there Sol just focused on his thoughts  before catching Famine telling Jade to Leave before he tuned out the rest of the conversation.

Wonder why the kid is here, eh I guess its not my business” he mumbled to himself quietly as he decided if his mistress wanted him in the loop she would tell him and not a moment sooner.

Everything happened so quickly. Last night, waking up, and coming eye to eye with a darker haired young woman. She didn't seem too much older than he was, but that wasn't the problem at hand. She had big, pretty blue eyes and light skin, all beautifully stitched together by cells. Were all the people he had met so enchantingly lovely? But one event led to another, his mind desperately clinging to it's pace, almost unable to keep up. It was of no help to the mysterious pain in his head, either.

She commented on his looks the very moment she approached, and caused him to look at himself as well. He did look terrible! He could see the outline of his bones press against his skin, and began to grope around his face with his weak, shaky hands, feeling the small bags under his eyes begin to fade, but were still very present. This feels weird... He thought to himself, unable to muster up the strength to speak just yet, let alone move. But then, the sweetest smell he hadn't detected for days approached him with a warm embrace of scents. It was the end of his hunger and the start of his energy, it was food. His dead eyes seemed to have glimmered upon it's arrival, the lady had offered it to him almost pitifully. He took the container with no words, but with curious eyes.

But there it laid, on his lap, with weak, steady hands, hesitant to unravel it's contents without a proper thank you. He slowly peered to the big blue eyed young woman, opening his mouth to speak, but nothing other than body heat seemed to roll off his tongue. His voice? It was so feeble, it would take his undivided attention to speak. He dearly dreaded not being able to thank her, but stare at her with weak, red eyes. They had a shallow... sadness hidden in between desperation and a desire for human contact.

She then asked him his name, and had some strength to say as little as that. But, something held him back from engaging in conversation. He had no idea who this person was, or where he was, for that matter. No one here had familiar faces. And he laid there, frightful. But it was not long after that a familiar face joined the duo, hearing her dismiss the blue-eyed woman with a bit of disappointment or impatience in her tone. It was sort of intimidating and questionable. Did she have some kind of authority to these people? But the question had appeared yet again, and his name was apparently top priority.

Slowly, Ahote turned his head to face his 'saviour', a weak, but dead-like smile frozen to his quivering lips. "...Ahote." He spoke in a weak, trembling voice. Dry and unsettling, arms hesitant to reach out for the apple. "....Can I... eat it?..." He pointed to the fruit with the same weak voice. But... So pleading.

She was caught off guard by the sudden voice of her mother, Famine. She sighed a bit and stood up a bit annoyed "Tch..." She said as she faced Famine "He was new so I felt curious about the boy." She complained in a whiny tone as she lightly stomped her foot before shaking her head "Fine." she said as she headed out the door, taking one last look at the boy before heading out the door and waiting next to the door outside. Once the boy said her name she smiled a bit "Ahote..." she said as she turned around and started to walk away.

She looked at Sol and nodded a bit "I would like to talk to you later." she said as she walked off down the hallway. She had other business to attend to anyway, she needed to write a letter to someone who lived down in Magnolia... it was time they met.

Famine ignored every piece of the girls complaints and protest, crossing her arms in front of her chest wordlessly. Her gaze snapped back to the boy in the bed as Jade finally stomped off, giving The Guild Master and the youth the alone time she desired.” Sorry, Ahote. She is a little too curious for her own good.” Famine smirked upon mentioning Jade, tasting the sound of the boy’s name within her sentence.

She watched him closely, following his gaze down to the fruit as he asked for the food. A polite little one wasn’t he? Perhaps he was just nervous... Famine tended to make even grown people that way after all.

“Sure, not like I would poison you.” Famine murmured, still allowing for him to take the bite he desired and to sate his hunger...until- Buuuut only after you answer that question I asked you…” Famine trailed off, waiting until Jade was out of the room to further inquire. “What were you doing out there like this alone?” Famine mused the question awaiting the reply almost patiently with the matter that she comfortably leaned forward against the bed rest. Her intriguing sapphire hues narrowed to stare into the depths of his orange and unsettled lenses.

Sol blinked and woke slightly as he heard the door open as Jade made her way out of the room but not before looking at him and telling him she wanted a word with him later, Sol was slightly surprised but he nodded in understanding before watching her vanish and he decided to get a better look at the newcomer that Famine had brought into the guild. Before the door could close the slayer slipped inside of the room being almost silent so he didn’t disturb Famine or Ahote with his presence and he moved to a darkened corner of the room so he would he hard to see.

Sol peered at the boy from the shadows seeing that he was rather beaten up and in less then stellar health, he could tell from a glance that the boy was shorter then Famine and much shorter then himself but Sol remained wary since appearances could be deceiving and the boy could be older then he looked. The green haired man remained quite and in the darkness but if Famine or Ahote looked to the corner they would see a set of golden snakelike eyes watching them carefully.

Ahote nibbled on the skin of the apple, a taste as vivid as the red on it's flesh greeting his tastes, the juices moistening his dry, soft lips. As it seemed, it was a simple apple that seemed to be plucked out from a basic area but it was the first thing Ahote wanted to see after starving. He had never been so happy to eat such a common, insignificant fruit. He only had the strength to bite down a few more times before his session was peacefully interrupted by the slick words of his acquaintance. Words rolled off her tongue so slyly, it was shockingly enchanting. But also a bit frightful.

Ahote listened to her carefully, impatient and eager to resume his nibbling. Her questions were unexpected, but realistic seeing as he was the only one who knew why he was out there. He spoke quietly and softly, not sure of how much to tell her. He didn't know what to say, exactly. He spoke awkwardly, starting to speak but then cutting it off with an 'Uhmm...' or starting a new statement and letting it fade to silence before answering her. But finally, he mustered up the courage to let it all pry through his lips into their ears. "I ran away from my home, Fairy Tail, Mommy in Magnolia Town so I could be like the heroes in picture books. The ones that do honorable favors and earn a name. Isn't that cool? But... I couldn't do it at home. I only got to see Daddy once, and Uncle Heero was busied with other things. So... I thought... I thought that if I ran into the woods, I could come back super strong! But I don't know if they want me back or not. I don't know if Mommy misses me. I didn't mean to end up in your... place. I'm sorry..." He began to tear up, his childlike nature getting the best of him, not wanting to move around. Tears clogged in the corners of his eyes, but why was he sad? He didn't know if he wanted to go home or not. And frankly, he wanted to get to know everyone here. But, as he jerked his head away from her prying eyes, he... noticed something in the corner? Something, glowing? At first he thought it was just some glowing objects but as he turned, he noticed that it's gaze followed him. After a small moment of silence and blank expression, his countenance turned into one of horror and fright, frozen. "Wh-What is that? W-Who are you??!..."

Famine didn’t sympathize with anyone but herself anymore-- she-- didn’t care about….kids. So why was it that she burned a little fiercer inside her chest now? Why did she find even further resent in the guild for this boy’s apparent neglect…“They’ve only long forgotten about us, little one.” Famine hesitated before any form of continuation. For a moment she felt that she shouldn't tell any form of the tale…

A beat passed, and she contemplated the possible outcomes should she not share pieces of her history with Fairy Tail.

Inevitably, she was swayed into it. Perhaps a bit of honesty might just be the only way into this child's pure and moral heart. “I ran away from the fairies in Magnolia too…” the mage began, taking a seat at the foot of the bed joined by the sound of mattress springs crying in protest. “It was a long time ago.” at least that's what it felt like to her. ”I ended up here after they forgot about me, stopped caring about where I’d gone…” she trailed off, turning her head to the window and narrowing her gaze towards the white which bled through into the infirmary. The place between them fell silent and when Famine opened her mouth. It was his shaken and frightful tone that came instead.Famine looked over her shoulder at the silhouette residing in the dark corner of the room before she was certain she could reassure Ahote.

“Nothing… no one to be afraid of yet at least, right Sol?” Famine murmured, her dull expression coaxing her most servile member to come out and reveal himself.

As soon as the slayer heard the words Fairy Tail his face was suddenly set into a scowl, how he hated that guild the more he thought about it the more he wanted to see the guild in ashes, he calmed himself quickly since he was prone to leaking poison when he got angry and he listened to his mistress explain that she had left the fairys when they forgot about her and didn’t care about here anymore which made his temper flare again even rose. Before he could control himself a low growl slipped from his mouth along with a small dark green puff of poison gas, it wouldn’t harm anyone but it was not comforting to the child in the room.

Upon hearing his name Sol reigned his anger in again and he stepped out of the shadows and approached the two with his hands in his pockets, Sol stopped once he was beside Famine and he dropped his hood so Ahote could see his face instead of the shadows of his cloak. The mans face was set in a smirk and he bowed to Famine.”I’m no threat unless you desire me to be one my queen” he said softly before he turned his snake like eyes to Ahote.”My name is Sol and I am mistress Famines loyal dragon”he stated with some pride in his voice, he wore his loyalty with pride and he would work as hard as he could to keep the shorter woman happy.

Ahote looked toward the flashing eyes in the darkness, listening to Famine in an idle state. He was more focused on the sudden appearance of... Sol? Or, that was his name, at least. He couldn't but remain intimidated from him, not hearing him enter the room to find him suspiciously observing the two in the shadows.

But, the fright had faded to blankness as he continued to listen to his introduction. A faint, weak smile spread across his lips as he finished. Though having an odd appearance, he seemed friendly, at least. In fact, everyone was friendly to him. Ever since he woke up. Ahote became lost in thought, trying to gather together all the of the information that was fed to him ever since he woke up. There wasn't much to analyze, and he more or less only got to have one sided conversations with everyone.

In fact, he came to the conclusion that he knew nothing about anyone here. Even the person on the foot of his bed. - No, her name went unknown. He didn't even know where he was, his surroundings were so different, he could hardly tell that he wasn't out of the country. He began to tense up again, he didn't know how far he was from home or if he should stay here or not. He could hardly walk, let alone keep his eyes open. So 'running away' would be futile, and they have shown no threat whatsoever. In fact, he owed the very person on the foot of the bed his life.

But then he froze. How could he be so ungrateful?! His ignorance of his childlike nature nearly slayed him where he fell, yet saved by this woman, accompanied by the merciless kindness of the people who came to see him. He felt the sudden obligation to return the favor, but decided not to bring it up at this moment, he first had to figure out where he was.

"W-Well... uhm... can I ask something? Where am I? Who are you people?" He began to look around the room. This particular spot seemed to be some sort of nursing room or infirmary, that was obvious. Beyond that, he was clueless, and felt no reason to leave until he repaid the favor.

"Everyone's so nice here... and that nice lady over on my bed helped me! I... I would like to return the favor..." He smiled under his breath, tears clogging in the corners of his eyes. It was too late, he couldn't help but let the pearls of joy fall down his cheeks. "I... I really, really want to repay the favor! Everyone has treated me so well, even if it hasn't even been a day! M-Maybe one of you can show me around? This place seems cool... The Fairy Tail Guild Hall is nothing like this! Hehe."

It was just like that, Ahote already felt happier.

AND NOW ITS ENDING IN MY RESURRECTION
    PHARAOH LEAP.

“You're somewhere...safe, Basilisk Fang, Famine began, pondering how to explain themselves as people like you  Ahote. Were mages. It wasn’t the whole truth but it was the truth. Her azure orbs followed Ahote’s head as he shifted and blinked about the poorly aged infirmary room where cracks ran down the stone ceiling and dust blanketed every other surface. It wasn’t the most welcoming of a place  to wake up in, surley. Than again where was it in this fort? This fortress had been abandoned many years ago, its settlers likely taken out by warfare with each other judging by the interior… It was clear the damage in some places, including breaks in the floors, broken furniture, ect were forms of non natural damage. The place had gone out in a scuffle all those years ago. No… this place was not like the faeries guild hall her and Ahote had both fled… it was quiet, bigger, ...colder.

Though she saw the mild distaste hidden on Sol’s expression she stayed silent of it. The name of that guild was something that burned inside the throats of The Fangs here. This child could not be allowed to make all the poor decisions the shadow mage had. Gingerly, Famine clambered up from the foot of the bed, whirling her head back around her shoulder to face the boy. “...Ahote," Famine began quietly, protesting the knot in her gut his that little tears caused. “Dry your eyes. I know how you can repay your life debt,” Famine murmured, the ghost of a smirk on her mouth as she extended an open palm out to him, her pale skin of her hand almost luminous in the white light that shone through the window. You can stay here with us, I can protect you; make you stronger than anyone in Fairy Tail could.” She awaited Ahote’s reply, mentally hoping that Sol would comply… This looked like a bad idea… but it wasn’t everyday one of Fiore’s darkest mortals could  do something to fix the world… She could protect this child now and keep him from re-creating the same  mistakes she had growing up… though small, she smiled… the non menacing one that was uncommon to even Sol

    “You can be my protege...”

Sol just stood beside Famine and listened intently as she explained to the young man that he was in the Basilisk Fang guild hall and then offered him a chance to repay her and the guild as a whole, the slayer just kept a straight face as he watched the boys reaction for anything that he deemed suspicious since he still did not trust the boy yet. Sol knew he would have a hard time ever truly trusting someone other then Famine since his sense of loyalty was what guided him and to break that was to earn a death sentence from the slayer Kanix had learned that out the hard way.

Hearing Famine offer the boy the chance to stay with them here at the guild and that she would protect him and make him her protégé made the slayer feel a torn for a moment between his two halfs though it was unable to be seen by anyone , on one hand his dragon instincts told him that Ahote was trying to take Famine away from him and that the slayer should eat him but his other half told him that that was not the case since Famine had placed more trust in him then any other person he knew .with that in mind Sol simply nodded at Famines words about making Ahote strong. “We can make you strong stronger then any Fairy could but the stength will not come without challenge it will require blood sweat and many tears do you understand Hatchling?” he asked the child as he had a stern but not mean look on his face. If the boy wanted to become strong Sol would train him the way his father had taught him, it would make the boy cry and bleed but the strength he would gain would be worth it.

I WILL PLEDGE MY LOYALTY TO...

Ahote listened carefully between muffling sobs, his nose all wet and his eyes blurred by the tears. It was a lot to take in at the moment, this... place. Basilisk Fang, it was called. And he was safe. As safe as he could be. Perhaps it was the nostalgia of the moment that made him feel some comfortable, or perhaps it was his desperation for human contact that made him feel so embraced. So embraced...

But it was at that thought that the face of his mother crossed his mind. What was she to think of this encounter? He remembered her always watching over him and spoiling him with her affection, but what was that to mean now? Now that he was in debt to Basilisk Fang and this lady, he couldn't bear the thought of becoming so ungrateful that he'd break his promise after such mercy.

But that thought was quickly shunned away as Ahote began to weave another smile with his weak, dry lips, sniffling and wiping the tears away from his red-stained eyes. She said something about a him being her protege... he had no idea what that word meant. He had never heard it before, but it made him feel special. But it was also Sol who added onto the suspense of the deal he was making right now, but Ahote's feeling did not waver. And apparently, he was already given some sort of name... 'hatchling', apparently. He didn't mind. His mind was weak right now, he body was feeble. He didn't have the capacity to consider the effects of this, and could only make room for excitement and anxiety to collide as he pondered about his new found friends, soon to be close enough to call family. He had hoped that he would find what he was looking for within these arms of darkness.

    "Okay! I understand!"

And with a childlike, toothy grin, Ahote was settled in staying in Basilisk Fang until further notice. Oh, how would his real family react to the so-called absurdity? His love for them did not alter, but he had enough to share.

    To share with them.
