Mashyuu in: Lost in the Desert!

Job details::

Mashyuu sat on a cart that was being pulled along by a large mule. A wet towel was resting across his forehead to keep his motion sickness at bay while he watched dust kick up behind him from the wheels of the cart. Ahead of him a young man sat with his hands on the reins that were hooked up to the mule to keep it in line. He looked over his shoulder and his blonde hair kicked up in the wind. His green eyes glanced back at Mashyuu and Rocky and the man smiled wide. "So like I said back in town. Everyone was dead aside from me! If it wasn't for my magical gear I would have been dead too." He shouted over his shoulder. The Merchant was hunting for treasure in the desert after a series of sandstorms revealed a large area of half buried treasure. The man hired a group of body guards to help the Merchant to help keep him safe but a large group of treasure hunters attacked and killed the body guards and the Merchant barely escaped with his life. Weakly Mashyuu raised his hand and shouted over the sound of the ground rumbling under the cart. "What's your name buddy?" The merchant looked ahead and called out. "J.K. Simmons, but you can call me Simmons for short."

The cart stopped and Mashyuu slipped out of the cart swiftly. He grabbed up a shovel and started to dig. "If we get this done quick then we can possibly not have to deal with those treasure hunters." Mashyuu reasoned while he dug deeply into the dirty sand and started to fling sand around. Rocky dropped down next to the Earth Wizard and started to circle the cart while the young Merchant patted the mule and drew a long sword that gleamed in the sunlight. He watched the sand to see if any treasure hunters were near by.

'Normal Dice' :

Mashyuu dug for seemingly an hour while Simmons watched carefully. Suddenly there was a hollow thunk and Mashyuu waved for Simmons to help him out. The pair got to work and together pulled out from the ground a small wooden box with a metal lock. They placed the box up on the cart and examined it together carefully. "Think it's trapped or something?" Simmons asked while looking over at Mashyuu. The Earth Slayer nodded his head at the chest and pointed at the ground under them where three snakes sat coiled and ready to strike. Mashyuu lifted his foot and slammed it down hard, a shock wave rang out and smashed into each of the snakes, knocking them dead on the spot thanks to Mashyuu's ring that he got from the temple of the first Wizard Saints. The young merchant smiled at the spell Mashyuu clearly used to kill the animals and used the hilt of his blade to smash into the lock. Inside was a dirty, sand covered cape of a once brilliant color. It would need to be cleaned to be seen if it was worth anything but the Merchant couldn't help but offer it to Mashyuu. "Tell ya what. Pay five thousand jewels to clean and appraise this and it's yours." The man offered and closed the lid on the cape. Mashyuu in turn smiled and extended his hand. "A deal it is." Mashyuu picked up his shovel and started to drag it around the ground but looked up to see a sand storm coming his way. "Simmons Get down! Sand Storm!" He shouted as a swiftly moving sand storm hit the trio. Mashyuu remained still, the sand doing nothing to the Earth Wizard as it pelted him from every witch way. What he didn't know was that he was about to be attacked by a group of Treasure hunters who had magic on their side.

Coming in with the sand storm the Thieves raced at Mashyuu, thinking the tall man was an easy target because he had no weapons in his hand. What they didn't know was that Mashyuu could feel the men moving through the ground and the tremors they made. The men rushed Mashyuu but the Earth Wizard felt no fear. He saw a knife gleam at him in the dull sunlight and the Earth Wizard simply ducked the slash while slamming his fist straight into the man's gut. The ring on Mashyuu's finger throbbed and alerted the Slayer. "Behind and to your left!" The Earth Slayer stepped a half pace forward while spinning to his right. The knife came at Mashyuu in a stabbing motion and just barely missed the brown haired man. Dropping down Mashyuu swept his leg out and tripped both men, causing them to hit the ground hard. "You guys aren't any good without the element of surprise are you? Where is your boss!?" Mashyuu demanded of them while the two men rolled and came up. They started to circle the Earth Wizard while watching each other to see if they were on the same page. Mashyuu braced himself while the men lunged. The blue eyed Dragon Slayer changed to a bolt of lightning and teleported some twenty feet to the left and appeared with a smile on his face. His right arm crackled with golden electricity while he extended his palm and shouted. "Thunder Flash!" He reached out and from his hand a bolt of electricity slammed into one man, knocking him over in a single blast. The only remaining Bandit gritted his teeth and started to charge at Mashyuu but the Earth Wizard was ready for it. As the man came in, sweeping with his dagger Mashyuu stepped to the right and stuck his leg out, tripping the Bandit into Rocky's breath attack, knocking out the thug in a simple stroke of motion.

Both the bandits fell hard in sand, leaving an indentation of their bodies as the sun beat down on their inert forms. Mashyuu stood over the pair victoriously with Rocky at his side. The Earth Wizard reached down and dragged one may to each side of the cart and pulled a length of rope out of it. "These guys are going to tell us where their boss is." Mashyuu said to Simmons while the earth Wizard took his time to secure each man to the spokes of the wooden wheels. Mashyuu glanced around the area for a few moments and kicked the thugs daggers away from the men then placed Rocky onto the back of the cart. "Alright, lets go." Mashyuu called out while Simmons got up onto the front of the cart and started to roll out with the mule. Every few moments a mans head dragged across the sand until one of the men started to stir. Mashyuu was walking behind the cart, watching the men until one of the men started to move his head. Mashyuu sprinted over to the man and kicked some sand in the man's face mid stride. "Good morning. So you tried to kill me... I don't take kindly to that. But I'll let you go. All you have to do is tell me where your boss is. Or at least who I need to talk to in order to find your boss." The thug shook the sand out of his eyes as he spun around again. This time feeling the pain of the top of his head rubbing across the hot sand. "O.k. O.k. I'll talk. We have a small encampment set up about five miles north of here. Men come to the camp in shifts." The man admitted.

Mashyuu was happy to see that the man was being so compliant with the Earth Slayers wishes. The cart slowed to a rolling stop and Mashyuu untied the men. With a little force of effort Mashyuu opened up the sand and buried the two men neck deep. The men started to call out for help while Mashyuu and Simmons made off into the desert. Walking next to Simmons on the cart Mashyuu looked out into the distance, scanning for any sign of the treasure hunters encampment. "Ya know... It wasn't just treasure hunters that attacked me. I was hurt by a giant scorpion and some folks even thought I was crazy. So we should look out for that. OH. Yeah there was something else... A three headed beast. It stalked us on the body of a snake. I had no idea what it was. When I was in the village I found a book that detailed the creature as a Chimera. Not one that is commonly seen with giant wings but something much more....demonic." Simmons explained while the group traveled along the desert. Suddenly Mashyuu stopped and started to scan the ground around them. He looked up to Simmons and pointed ahead of them. "Keep going, don't stop. I'll catch up. HURRY!" Mashyuu ordered.

The ground under Mashyuu started to rumble hard. The young man took a step back and jumped to the left as hard as he could. The Earth Slayer rolled along the ground as the sand erupted behind the slayer while a massive scorpion came out of the ground snapping it's pincers hard. The monster came up and started to hiss at Mashyuu while Mashyuu twisted to face the massive beast that was a little larger than Mashyuu was. Mashyuu snarled at the monster as it's tail launched it's tail out towards the Slayer. Swiftly the Earth Wizard stepped to the left and extended his right arm out towards the Scorpion. "Stone Blast!" The ground shot up and out at the scorpion, buffeting the monster but doing almost nothing to the creature. "Shit." "Shit." Both Mashyuu and the Ring on his finger moaned in annoyance.

The massive creature snapped its claws at Mashyuu and the Wizard instantly wished he had kept Rocky with him. The young man took a sliding step backwards and pondered to himself for a moment while watching the creature. Mashyuu really didn't want to get close but he didn't think he had much of a choice. Then again... The Earth Slayer slowly brought both his gloved hands up and clasped them together while calling out. "Earth Dragons Tomb!" The sand shot up around the Scorpion and constricted around it before swallowing the beast whole. Mashyuu stood still, watching the ground and feeling for any trembles. All he could sense however was his magic crushing the monster under the ground. Eventually after what seemed like forever the monster was pushed up out of the ground with it's shell shattered and Mashyuu fell back into a seated position in the sand. "Crap that was close!" He whispered and closed his eyes. He was drained and needed a few moments to recover. He glanced down at the sand and shrugged his shoulders. "It's gotta be like drinking water." Mashyuu said to the ring and placed his mouth to the sand, he started to drink the sand to replenish his magic....

An hour later he caught up with the cart witch was stopped by Simmons. The man was sitting with his back to the cart and hiding in the structures shade. Mashyuu scooped up a shovel and started to dig. "See if we can't find something here." Simmons looked at Mashyuu like the man was insane. Sand was caked to the Earth Wizards face and he was simply digging as if nothing happened. "I saw the Scorpion come up out of the ground. You are just going to act like it never attacked?" Mashyuu couldn't help but smile at the man with a twinkle in his eye. "Why? I crushed it with sand. It's dead." The Dragon Slayer couldn't help but boast a little at the spell he made up on the spot. His mother would have been proud considering she was a B rank Wizard when she passed and he had never seen her do that before.

'Normal Dice' :

THUNK THUNK! The shovel Mashyuu was using smashed into a large box and slowly the Earth Wizard pulled out the trunk and placed it on the cart. He was curious as to what was inside. As he pushed the small box's lid open a light golden tint fell from the wood and a soft song played. Both Rocky and Simmons looked at Mashyuu who moved his head backwards and cringed as the item was exposed to him. A pair of very nice looking boots that were covered in sand sat in the center of the box. "Strange treasure..." Mashyuu grumbled and snapped the lid shut. He glanced over his shoulder at Simmons and the Merchant shrugged his shoulders. "If you want em there yours." He offered and held up a large sack of jewels. "I already made bank and we haven't even gotten back to where I was jumped." Mashyuu pushed the chest back and against the cart and tossed the shovel up into the cart as well. The Earth Wizard grabbed Rocky and set the young animal along the wooden cart and started to race ahead to make sure all was clear for the group in the future. It was strange to Mashyuu that they had only been jumped by one group of men when before Simmons and his entire group were ambushed by far more than two thieves. Mashyuu gazed out at the empty looking sand expanse and he sighed an annoyed tone. "Where are you guys?" He asked, wanting to deal with the thieves before anything else. Off in the distance there was a small group of men some twenty in number sitting around a long table, eating roasted scorpion and getting drunk off the poison from the monsters body. "AYE! Steve and Carl never came back! We should get out looking for em." One of the men said while stumbling up to his feet and grabbing three others. The group slipped atop a group of horses and started riding out towards Mashyuu's group.

Mashyuu was standing at the top of a small hill, the heat of the desert was starting to form small blisters on his lips while Rocky slowly walked up to to him with a bottle of water on it's back. Mashyuu grabbed the bottle and washed away the heat in his throat. He could see off in the distance a small cloud of sand being kicked up by forces that the Earth Slayer could not yet see. Mashyuu twisted his head to look at Simmons and he pointed ahead of him. "We got company." Wings sprouted from the back of Rocky as it's new Gargoyle form stood up on it's hind legs and roared loudly off at the moving cloud of sand. Mashyuu patted Rocky on the top of the head and smiled wide. "Alright Rocky! Lets go get em!" Rocky lifted Mashyuu up with its forward legs and launched off the sandy ground, soaring through the air faster than something of it's size should have been able to. The monsterous Rocky lifted Mashyuu up high into the sky until the pair eclipsed the sun for a moment. The team dive bombed down towards the four men on horseback. Rocky released Mashyuu and sent the Earth Wizard straight into the lead horse and smashed the rider to the rough sand in a horrid slam. Mashyuu extended his right arm as a bolt of electricity crackled and launched through is arm, jolting the thief so hard that the man was blown back into the ground again, burying the man some four feet under the sand. Rocky slashed at a man next to Mashyuu, it's claws dug into the man and turned the man into a statue, crushing the animal the thief was on and forcing the man to fall against the sand. The other two men rode back around and dismounted their horses while drawing two long blades. The men glared at mashyuu and charged the Earth Wizard. Annoyed with dealing with four men this time Mashyuu pointed is index fingers to the ground and two small stones lifted to his fingers. "Stone Bullets!" The stones launched out and slammed into the men's shoulders. Dropping the thugs on the spot.

The men fell to the ground at Mashyuu's feet while he and Rocky searched their surroundings for more thieves just to be safe. The Earth Dragon Slayer took a deep breath of air and shrugged his shoulders at the Stone Elemental. "That wasn't so bad. These guys really don't have it in em to do more than annoy me I suppose.... I hope Simmons is still o.k. up there. We should really get back out there to check on him huh?" Mashyuu both said and asked Rocky while he started to make his way back to the cart. With Rocky at his side the Slayer was starting to head up the hill when he felt a terrible tremor under him. Mashyuu's ring shouted out at him with concern. Mashyuu tensed up and shuddered when a massive whale jumped out from the sand hill, the hill quaked and trembled as it started to fall in on itself. Simmons tumbled down the hill with his cart in toe. He landed at Mashyuu's side as the whale leap't over head and dove back into the sand. Mashyuu spun around to try and track the creature but he couldn't. "Rocky, take Simmons up and wait until we can get a good shot on it." Mashyuu ordered the monster. The human sized earth elemental launched itself to Simmons side and scooped him up, flying up high while Simmons drew his sword. "That thing isn't taking me down! I will have my treasure!" Simmons shouted while he was lifted through the air. Wind whistled past the two and Mashyuu was left on his own. The sand whale circled around towards Mashyuu and came up at the Earth Wizard. From it's spout it fired a wave of sand at the Slayer. Mashyuu couldn't help but laugh and open his mouth wide. The sand slipped down is throat as naturally as water and restored the Earth Wizards magic a bit. "Hehehe, not bad. Not bad at all." Mashyuu laughed while bracing himself for an attack.

Mashyuu was more than worried about the giant whale that was swimming through the sand until it used it's blowhole to launch an earth based attack at Mashyuu. Suddenly the Wizard knew he could take the creature with little to no effort. And by that Mashyuu meant that he could actually eat the sand attacks before getting hurt by the magic the monster could use with innate talent. Mashyuu clenched his fists and settled into his mountain stance. The whale launched itself up and tried to bowl Mashyuu over but the Earth Dragon Slayer didn't budge. Instead he used his arms to block the strike and swiftly wrapped them around the monsters face. Mashyuu brought his knee up and slammed it into the Whale's mouth before Mashyuu released it and it swam back underground. Mashyuu watched the ground carefully while sniffing the air for anything that might be coming at him. "Move!" The ring shouted and Mashyuu jumped up as the whale erupted from the ground and snapped it's jaw at Mashyuu, just barely missing the Earth Wizards feet. Mashyuu brought his hands up and clasped them together while shouting loudly. "Earth Dragon's Tomb!" The ground erupted out around the whale and collapsed on the monster, dragging it back underground and crushing it with pure force. Mashyuu landed on the ground and rolled to stop himself from getting hurt Mashyuu twisted to face the monster in the expanse of the desert while Rocky flew by over head. The Earth Wizard snarled and rolled his eyes. The earth tomb crushed the monster but it managed to swim through the sand anyway. Mashyuu extended his hand and took a deep breath of air. The sand launched up and into his hand, forming a solid war hammer for Mashyuu to fight with.

The Whale erupted from the ground and it's tail lashed out at Mashyuu. The Earth Wizard let the tail slam into him. The force of the strike made Mashyuu twist with pain but he managed to bring his right arm up and slam his war hammer down atop the Whale, cracking bones in the process. Mashyuu watched the whale sail over him and back down into the sand. The Earth Dragon Slayer winced in pain but watched how the hammer made the Whale move slower. He took a few steps back while the massive Whale rolled around in the sand, spreading it with it's body. The monster launched another gout of sand at Mashyuu. His mouth opened and he took in a deep breath of air and swallowed the sand, restoring his magic once again. He could feel more energy in him than he normally had. The Earth Wizard whirled the hammer around in his hand and tossed the weapon as hard as he could. The war hammer smashed into the face of the Whale and caused it to turn belly up and open its mouth. As it's tongue rolled out of it's mouth a small chest was revealed to the slayer. Rocky came down to land and set Simmons down next to the chest. The pair opened the chest to reveal....

Off in the distance the group of thieves were battling a terrible foe. It was a massive animal that looked like three animals were melded together and each head it had seemed to work together. The monster whipped a tail about, slamming into one man while a head burst up and tossed another man high into the sky. The scream the man made rang out through the air and Mashyuu looked up, hearing the scream before the man died upon landing on the hard sandy ground. Mashyuu winced and stood up, glancing down at the chest and Simmons. "Go get the chests and start to head back to town. I'll meet you there. There is a terrible monster coming. Rocky, lets do this."

Simmons looked at Mashyuu while picking up the chest full of jewels. He clasped the top shut and raised a brow for a moment then nodded his head up and down. "Good luck, I'll see you on the other side." The man muttered and took off for the turned over cart. Frantically he scrounged through the wreckage of the cart and grabbed up the other two chests. Swiftly he placed everything on a piece of wood and started to run up a small hill, back the way he came. Mashyuu glanced over at his partner. The creature who had come to his aid so many months ago to save his life, the creature who had been at his side for most of his tough battles. The pair rushed forward towards a massive sand storm that was growing in size as the duo rushed forward. The pair slammed into the sand and Mashyuu could see the thieves laid about on the ground dead. Some missing limbs, others with gaping holes in their bodies. Mashyuu could barely see in the cloud of magical sand and he wasn't going to deal with that. Swiftly he took a deep breath of air and inhaled the sand, powering up and clearing the sand from the air. He could feel something pass over him for a moment. Rocky howled and pointed up to direct Mashyuu's attention. He took a half step back and looked up at the monster flying over head. Mashyuu's eyes went wide with fear and he took a deep breath of air. "What the hell is that?" He asked. The monster flew around and landed some twenty feet away from Mashyuu. It's three heads howled in anger and started to rush at Mashyuu. The Earth Slayer charged and Rocky took off into the air. The snake head lashed out at Mashyuu while he rolled under the monster and slammed his feet up into the monsters belly, causing it to howl in pain.

The monster started to howl in pain or so Mashyuu thought. He came sliding to a stop behind the creature and kipped up to his feet. With his back exposed the ring on his finger shouted for him to duck but the Wizard wasn't fast enough, plus the screaming ring distracted him. A hind leg slammed into Mashyuu's spine, and for the first time in a long while Mashyuu was knocked off his feet and sent sailing through the air. Mashyuu spun wildly until a dark shadow overtook him. A claw grasped his body and took off, moving up into the air. The monster stopped but tossed Mashyuu up into the air hard. The Earth Wizard went sailing into the sky while he glanced down at the monster who had tossed him around like a rag doll. Before the man knew what was happening Rocky had a hold of the Earth Wizard. Rocky twisted in a spiral and dove down at the three headed beast. "Thanks for the save Rocky, I'm glad I brought you on this job." He commented while wind flew through Mashyuu's hair. The monster on the ground snapped it's tail out and Mashyuu twisted with Rocky narrowly avoiding the monsters strike. Mashyuu slashed his hand in a sweeping clawed motion and called out. "Earth Dragon's Talons!" The shock wave that sprang from Mashyuu's hand slammed into the monster and did no damage but forced the creature into the ground ankle deep. Rocky took off at a ninety degree angle and launched forward, over the creatures back and dropped Mashyuu down. He opened his palm and the dragon slayers gauntlets produced earth that formed a strong hammer. Mashyuu dropped atop the creature and slammed his War Hammer straight into the creatures spine, causing bones to creak and the monster to dig even deeper down. A tail swang out to sting at Mashyuu but the Earth Wizard was capable enough to simply use the weight of his hammer to tumble off the back of the Cerburus.

Mashyuu tumbled to the ground as a tail snapped over his head, just barely missing. He aimed his right arm up and over as it crackled with golden energy. He extended his hand and a golden bolt of lightning slammed into the monster, causing it to take a step to the side as it recoiled in pain. All three of it's heads howled while glaring at Mashyuu. The Earth Wizard whirled his hammer around in his hand as the monster swang its clawed hand out at Mashyuu. Swiftly the brown haired Wizard lifted his hammer and blocked the strike just barely and targeted the paw that was now just a few inches away from him. Mashyuu willed up a thin but strong spiked piece of stone. The stone ripped through the monsters paw and the Earth Dragon Slayer dove away, rolling in a summersault to avoid the explosion that ripped through the air, harming the monster further. Mashyuu twisted around and extended his palm. From it a wave of hard sand pelted the monster in the ribs, dealing little damage but when compounded with the explosion of the stone spike Mashyuu was sure did some damage. The three headed monster reached it's head back and roared. Waves of sound hit Mashyuu hard, sending him flying backwards until he fell into the ground. Rocky came sailing down and slashed hard into the head of the snake, turning it to stone and forcing the monster to nearly topple over as one side of it actually fell down. Mashyuu used the opening to his advantage. Mashyuu focused for a moment and four massive stone pillars ripped out of the ground and slammed into the monster each connecting with a different part of it's body and rocking it to the core. Mashyuu was tanked and had just a little magic left in him. He raised his arms and watched as sand came up and swallowed the monster whole. Mashyuu fell to his knees and waited for a moment until the monster came up belly first dead. He half grinned and fell face first into the sand...

Mashyuu didn't know where he was or how long he had been out cold when he came to. The moment his eyes opened he felt ill and started to dry heave. He was once again waking up on the damned cart. Swiftly Mashyuu twisted his head and threw up over the edge of the cart. He waited for a few moments then rolled off the cart to catch his breath. The Earth Slayer took a few moments to clear his body of that toxic cart air and feeling then ran to catch up to Simmons. "What happened? Who did I get on the cart again?" Mashyuu asked while glancing behind him to see if the crazy monster with three heads was coming at the pair again. A wave of relief washed over Mashyuu while Simmons looked down on Mashyuu and smiled. "Boy I tell ya, that was amazing. You crushed that monster with sand. I've never seen anything like that. You really are a strong Wizard. I tell ya you earned all that treasure you got. I don't know what you will even do with all that but hell it's yours!" Mashyuu couldn't help but smile at the complement. He wanted to tell the man to keep all the treasure but Mashyuu had honestly taken a big risk covering the tracks of Simmons as the man ran to escape the monster with the three treasure chests. Only a few hours later the cart and Mashyuu strolled into a small village where the men took the treasure to get appraised and valued. Once everything had been done Mashyuu allowed the man to keep the jewels and took the magical cape and boots. Rocky joined Mashyuu, yelping happily at the fact that the young man wasn't dead and seemed to be doing just fine. Together the two took off for the Sabertooth Guild hall together.
