Nothel had already been tracking the convict down. He had escaped earlier that day, and the guards were looking for someone to track him down, and were offering a decent chunk of jewels for his return. Nothel happened to be in the area, and therefore took the job. It was going to be easy. Just drop the guy into unconsciousness with his magic and bring him back. No big whoop right? Well, it shouldn’t be. Nothing really stopped Nothel from finishing his job. The worse thing that happened to him recently was taking a butcher knife to the stomach. But that healed pretty quickly, and didn’t hurt much anymore. Though there was a scar forming, and it’d be a while before that went away. Shaking his head, he stops for a moment. He saw the convict enter some house, so he’ll just go in, bag the guy and leave. The guards said the guy was pretty weak; the years in jail wore him down. Therefore there should be no real fight here.
Before Nothel forcefully enters the building, he peers into the window, checking to see if he can spot the criminal. To his amazement though, he sees the convict hugging a little girl tightly. Nothel shakes his head, wondering what is going on, and then he sees a woman, smiling at the man and child. That’s it then, he was a husband. That is what happened here. Nothel shakes his head. He may be an asshole, but something inside of him doesn’t want him to go inside and stop the beautiful. But, his work demands he do so. But…wait maybe if he just waited for the guy to leave his house and then just get him there. But…what if he doesn’t come out and holes himself up in there? No…he wouldn’t do that he is a married man, he won’t put his family in danger such as that. It’d be reckless. Definitely if he broke out of jail just to see his family. He grins slightly, and leans against the wall, waiting for the man to leave. During this time Nothel would reflect on his options. He could bust in, and take the man immediately. But what implications would this have? If the man wasn’t finished talking with his family he would be violent and try to attack Nothel. Or would he just surrender himself at that point? Nothel couldn’t be sure, but he knew one thing. If he forced himself in the house and attacked the man, it wouldn’t be pretty. Definitely in front of the wife and children. Therefore he shall wait outside. Though this had its own implications, it means Nothel has to wait. On top of that, the man may not come out and just try to run away. Nothel was probably infinity faster than him, but still, it’d be annoying. Shaking his head he makes himself comfortable, forcing more of his weight on the wall while leaning.
He will give the man thirty more minutes to talk. If he doesn’t leave then Nothel will come and force him to go back to jail. But until then, Nothel waits. He wasn’t a very paient person; he normally went and got what he needed when he needed it. Waiting like this really angered him. But, he is trying to be a half decent person, like Saya-san said; he wasn’t much different from other mages. But he wasn’t too sure about that. Not after he killed that child and felt good about it. Honestly, he feels like he should be in a dark guild after his wrong-doings. Someone like himself shouldn’t be in a legal guild like this. He shakes his head, getting the thoughts out of his head. He doesn’t even know anyone from the guild. He hasn’t even seen but two of them. He should honestly attempt to casually say hi to one of them. He literally only talked to the guild master once, just to get in the guild. But I guess he isn’t really a sociable person, not in the slightest.
About a few minutes later the man opens the front door and walks outside. He then turns to Nothel and says very simply, “I’m ready to go back.” Nothel nods at him grabbing his arm. He would slowly walk the man back to the jail. “Thank you for waiting.” Nothel shakes his head slightly, muttering out, “Anytime buddy.” They walk off into the night, back towards the towns jail together, finishing this quest.
