Decades among decades had lurched by the last time she had been here, the crescent shaped chisel within the cliffside jaded barely from its once barbed stone. The hairs of earth flourished purely in green, a brilliant tone against the radiance of a blazing sun, roots and lengthed trees shading anything but the narrow opening. One who often found terror in heights, felt strangely at peace with the rift of coastal wind that lapsed through, the tall grass dancing hastily to the chilling touch of mistral. Standing a few lengths from the brink of thundering waves, a seemingly young woman, peered up at the infinite blue. Long strands of pale red a dazzling tone beneath the flaring beam of daylight's star; rocked along with the flow of a gentle yet consistent breeze. A darker shade of blue, appeared almost luminous within the veil of raven lashes, claiming their original expressionless, though, bewitching semblance. Like a moth drawn to a flame, she was the flutter of light that the insects perilously seeked. Though be it, the innocent butterflies, or the poisonous spiders, either would harm that beauty they sought so desperately to attain. Prior to the incident of betrayal, she had been in the exact same position she was now. Only, the child of Corenglaw had not befriended or been acquainted with as many humans or demons as she was right now. Perhaps in the history of her age. But, this was the future. Those crimson lines that strung her in undesired relationships, would eventually break away, eloping her in an utterly empty space. And then this one. Would finally be alone. Or was that would she truly requested of the world? To be left alone? Recalling the time, of the very few last words, withdrawn from her most dearest friend, brief remorse pricked at her emotions like the thorns of a rose. "Nobody can win against their loneliness, not even you. So promise me, friend. That even as time passes you by, you'll continue to live everyday like it is your last. After all, I like seeing your smile!" Liar. Coward. Intuition of her natural self-doubt, deluged endless scorns, putting her at shame to the fact that he were doubtlessly smiling up above. Even the image of such a memory, did nothing to conduct the lulling silence of Serene Cliff, to something that was enjoyable. Slender figure, draped over by the worn cloak, knelt closer to the earth, measly arms embracing her knees. Much time had passed since the treachery in the home of Hydras, interest leaning towards the faces she was so familiar with seeing. So far, nobody had found her. Intentionally or unintentionally. Though, in her endeavour of solitude, she had somehow managed to make a friend, one, whom in particular, exerted the same struggle she held. Then again, the fear to be discovered still teased the depths of her emotions. No clue, no conclusion, as to the outcome of what could be played in a moment such as that. Fleeing was optional, though, horrifyingly shameful. As one as prideful as her, she would not flee in such a stiffening situation. |

Re: Divulged By Emotion || Private
Days.
Upon days.
Upon days...
Upon days.
Upon days...
Endless hours, from city to city, monument to monument, forest to forest, land mark to land mark, all for naught. The only thing closest to a friend he ever had in a long time vanished before him. It was happening again; everything was vanishing. Just like his father, like his mother, like his sister, and his brother, and, eventually...
Himself.
What was it that he was seeking? No, more importantly. why was he seeking it? What he sought for was hardly a friend; someone of little importance, so, why was it that he was so determined to find this person? It wasn't for the friendship, he could gain any easily. It wasn't for power, for he would eventually rise. It definitely wasn't for relationship, because that would be easier than friendship. So, why was he looking for this person? Why was he looking for Evelyn? Soren is a genius, but, even he wasn't sure.
Perhaps he truly was desperate for a real friend, because his people skills didn't work on her as they typically would; it was almost as though she could see right through them, but that wasn't the case, because he never felt lonely for a need for a true friend to begin with. Could it really be that he needed love? Well, that's a dumb question; he's completely full of himself, so, really, he could give himself all of the love he would ever need. So, what was it exactly? What was the answer?! He kept on thinking as he traveled the path to his favourite place and when he realized the answer, he felt like a complete idiot.
He never wanted to see anyone disappear before him ever again.
That was the reason for the going to great lengths to find her. He always did think alright of Evelyn, and he couldn't stand seeing her disappear in front of him, not if he had something to say about it. When he first set out, he was filled with motivation to find her, and he wasn't sure why. Some time along the road, that dwindled to where it was almost nothing, which lead him to go to where he was going in the first place. Thinking of his answer made him realize why he set out in the first place, so he was filled with determination once more! He clenched his fist and smiled to himself. I'll definitely find her.
...and when he reached the top of the Serene Cliff, he saw the crimson haired young woman...
He held his breath, completely taken back by what had just happened. He found Evelyn in his most favourite, and beautiful spot. Fitting to finding a beautiful woman..., he thought to himself. "So," he called out to her, in a tone that basically said "don't try to run", "Why haven't you come back yet?"

Re: Divulged By Emotion || Private
Drowned out. Taken from reality. These were only two things that decipted the dreamlike state she had been snared willingly into. Memories of the history, a list of mistakes and a book of value, none of them could ever be misplaced through the wide span of her lifetime. Every face and every voice. It was unbelievable that even she could recall them all. No matter the distance, and no matter the time. Everything living found its place in the chasm of moments and feelings. Yes. Everything. Even the voice that called out to her. Could never once be forgotten. Shoulders tensed with no delay to the familiar tone, usual knelt form abruptly standing straight as her gaze, veered into his direction. It was as if she were looking at a ghost. And personally, she wished that were the case, but the sound of his voice was so vivid in the silence of Serene Cliff, that she knew fully well that the one who stood before her, was definitely no ghost. A single booted foot, slid back against the soft ground; fear written clearly in her widened eyes. The usual confidence from before, had withered away with all the plans she ever thought of when the situation, like this, were to come. All she wanted to do now, was to abandon her sense of pride, and run away from the clefts in her bumpy life, to somewhere far away, where they wouldn't be able to find her. "I..." the words just wouldn't come out. As she thought of thousands, even billions of things to say, nothing would leave her firmly clenched lips. Honestly, she had never felt so ashamed or nervous in her entire life. At least, for the last few decades, she never presumed that in the near future, a single human, could make her feel so small. Eventually the gaze between two shattered as she faced the grassy floor, biting on her tongue in the hopes to distract what shameful emotions coursed through. Which of course didn't work. Staying silent would not do anything, neither would biting on her own tongue. So instead there was only one thing left to do. And that was to run. Literally. The normally sluggish and monotone young woman, took a few steps back before sprinting in the other direction, straight into the depths of the forest. Her legs were already tired from carrying her place to place, never once considering the option of rest. Moving continously from place to place, was mainly because she thought she might get into a horrible position like this. She afterall, was one to avoid anything troublesome unless it involved money in the end. But this, didn't have anything in the end! What could possibly be in store for her if the blonde were to eventually catch up to the usually speedy girl? Perhaps he wanted to kill her? Honestly she wasn't in the mood to explain her immortality either. Only worry grew with each step she took. Within the back of her mind, wishing to be caught. Yet hoping to be let go. |

Re: Divulged By Emotion || Private
Soren realized right then and there, just from looking at the state of the girl and the single completed word, yet uncompleted sentence, that she was alone, all of this time. There was no one, or nothing helping her. He also had a fairly accurate guess as to why she was also running away, too, but had no desire to come to conclusions without full, solid evidence unless it came from Evelyn. The terror, too. The normally cool, and devoid of emotion young lady was now showing very sporadic emotions, presumably as result from having hidden them for however long she had.
In just that single moment, frozen in time, he learned more about her than he had over the course of several weeks he had known her.
The crimson haired girl, however, turned tail and began to ran into the forest, something he had expected, yet was still surprised by her speed, despite being exhausted, but he knew he would catch up using Arcane Shift to move several meters in front and took off at a much faster speed than Evelyn did, eventually getting to the point where he could see her. They were going downhill, and she was somehow running... Faster, so he had to take a gamble, and if it was successful, they would only possibly die, if a failure, a definite thing.
Instead of running normally, he jumped up high into the air, in an attempt to both calculate his plan and to use as momentum for it. When he set his eyes on it, he disappeared in a flash of yellow orbs, appearing right beside Evelyn, sliding down, and using that split second of where they were at the same time in order to tackle her, and he did, in fact, catch her in a tight grip with both arms around her, as they were falling down the hill together, slowly coming to the edge because of how Soren had to catch her.
Closer...
And closer...
And closer...
And closer...
And closer...
As soon as Soren felt no ground, he used his last bit of energy in order to re-position themselves to the center of the hill they were falling on, so they would "safely" reach the bottom; at the very least not fall off of its edge. Fortunately enough, it would seem like destiny was on his side because they didn't collide onto anything like trees and rocks, because the tumble was already enough to hurt Soren incredibly badly. The tumble was gradually slowing itself down, to a point, where it completely stopped.
She was on top of him, and he was on below her, completely exhausted, and beaten up, just from that. One of his eyes was closed, and there was blood coming from his eyebrow and onto that half of his face, too, as he was breathing harshly, and sporadically. Evelyn made a small attempt to get away, only to be stopped by Soren's firm grip onto her wrist, as he gave her a serious look, despite all of the current injuries and exhaustion he suffered. "You're not...", he coughed in between, "...getting away.", he said, as his breathing began to calm down and he was fighting the immense pain.
"So... Let's talk."

Re: Divulged By Emotion || Private
The pounding of feet resonated through the forests seemingly hollow ground, heart thrumming rhythmically against the wall of her chest as the two dashed fleetingly by the narrow and almost tenuous path. She could hear him behind her, every step growing louder within the seconds that passed by, the teeming branches and grass eventually blighted by the sudden, and open hill, her feet nearly stumbling over one another at the reversal of flat ground, to slanted. Gravities influence quickened the pace of her light-weighted legs, assurance driving her to continue on in the hopes that she would lose the blonde. Though, as she was about halfway down the slope, Soren appeared literally right beside her, a firm grip around her waist, and the force of his plunge enough to knock them both to the ground, rotating at a rapid and almost nauseating speed. The world around her blurred out, from green to blue, and then to the form of the one who pursued, his arms still enfolded tightly around her - as if holding onto something precious. But, that was the least of her worries. As their race to the edge ended with the ground becoming air, a sense of fear crossed the delicate, and normally monotone features, not for herself, but rather, for the one that held onto her. This one was incapable of death. But, he, could more than easily, fall into its embrace. "Sor—!" space dispatched, like the semblance of traveling through a worm hole, the pair meeting soft earth with a grim landing, as oxygen hurled itself from her lungs. The momentary endeavour to breath disclosed by but a few coughs of desperation, the two lastly coming to a much more secure halt than their previous location in the air. Nerves pulsed to the constant smacking from ground to body, measly arms struggling to to push herself up as she hesitantly cleared the whirling semblance from veering to quickly. Lashes fluttered open, hesitant, yet, startled the moment she realized she was established over Soren; both thankful that he was alright, though, frantic to start her attempt of running again. Jolting to motion, fingers snapped out, writhing against the right wrist. Oh what a failure this was. The child of Corenglaw had not been so slow! If the angels were here, they would surely be humiliated. She couldn't even look at the blonde, yet, intuition told her that the way he watched her was anything but kind. A few beads of sweat formed by the temple of her crown, both from the heat of the sun, and the sudden anxiety that coursed through her nerves. It was almost akin to the feeling of wanting to vomit. "..I don't want to talk." the girl spoke, her usual disinterested tone, more fragile and soft than ever before. She felt exposed, and unprepared. In all honesty she was in a mixture of being slightly uncomfortable and awkward with Soren's fierce stare. "After what I did to you all, why would you want to talk? And why the hell would I come back?" a frown arched into her brows, a meddle of hurt crossed within her seemingly frustrated expression. |

Re: Divulged By Emotion || Private
Soren couldn't really give Evelyn a response. He was close, incredibly close; he was about to make her spill with emotion, he could tell. It was a delicate moment, however, because it would be a fantastic opportunity to have her return to life, or completely detach herself from it, and Soren was well aware of this. She didn't want to talk, yet, he had to get her to talk for his plan to work. He was quickly trying to think of a way to get her to talk, but nothing was coming to mind, giving him internal frustration. Coupled with the fact that he was thinking of her last two sentences, and Soren was gradually becoming more and more annoyed the more and more he thought of it, till suddenly...
He flipped over Evelyn, and was now on top of her, taking his free hand and punching her straight across the face, with force that wasn't intended to harm, but to come as a realization. "This isn't about you wanting to talk or not." and with that same hand, punched the ground directly next to her head and face. "It also isn't really about the guild, either." And then he realized as he continued speaking. How could he had been so stupid? The guild was probably the closest she had to a real comfortable place in a long time... And judging by her personality from what he knew, there was no way she would simply leave without cause, which changed what he was about to say.
"This is about why you left. You know, there are a lot of people still curious about you and hope you're not too fucked up." He took a deep sigh and released the tightness of his grip on her wrist, becoming more of a hold than a desperate grasp and relaxed his face slightly, looking directly at her now. "A lot of people don't want you to go.", he mumbled, "...and even I don't want to see you disappear. It has happened too many times.", he mumbled even softer. "Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying this because I care for you, though you're not a bad person, but I simply won't be able to see someone else just vanish right before my eyes."
His expression towards her softened up even more, but his eyes didn't show any less. "I don't know what it is that happened. I'm not entirely sure I care, though we'll try to resolve it." he took a deep sigh, now giving a light, sad smile. "You can't rewrite what is inscribed. When all is lost, you will find life.", and it faded.
"...or so I found out."
He was going to get into personal matters, so he stopped right then and there while he was still thinking properly, and gave her the same serious expression as he did originally. "So, we need to talk, and I'm sure you know what about."

Re: Divulged By Emotion || Private
Tension practically charred the atmosphere of its once placid setting, teeth grinding against the inside of her cheek in the hopes to distract what feelings teased to reveal the usual colourless girl. The fingers that curled tightly around her wrist, ached through the supposedly delicate skin, intuition clearly telling her, that what had just slipped past her lips, should've been planned more thoroughly. She could only feel utterly stupid now, knowing what may come next. By a sudden force, her body was casted backwards, thankfully not hefty enough to disembark oxygen from the dome of her lungs. Though, before she had any time to react, something hit her hard against the side of her face, the shocking reality of such an action provoking a long moment of hesitation. Widened pools confronted the one above her, taking every single word carefully within her mind, processing and grasping why he had so desperately chased her. Although the motion hurt like hell, it was easy to feel the frustration, anger and more importantly, worry, that came with a blow to the face. As much as she wanted to apologize, or as much as she wanted to go back, every notion in her body and mind was telling her not too. If she went back now, it would only be more painful. She couldn't live on like this, making friends only to lose them in the end. Sometimes she considered the idea of locking herself within a coffin and sinking to the bottom of the ocean, resting in an eternal sleep. There, nobody could find her. Nobody would be affected by her existence. Everyone could live normally, and she, in the darkness of one, who was definitely not normal. Or rather... she just wanted to go home. Since the time she came here, she had been seeking for the portal that would lead her back. After waiting for decades, with every moon-fall and sun-rise. There had been absolutely nothing. A sad smile settled at her lips. Something genuine and not fake. For once, she was making an expression. "I don't ever want to watch the people I love die before me again." a wetness touched her cheeks, sliding down her face; she was crying, "So please.. let me go, Soren." with a pause, the free hand, shifted to rest over her face, ashamed with letting herself get this way, "Because I.. don't think I can handle this anymore." she no longer decided to stop herself. Instead, she was full out crying, every tear never shed overflowing from the bottle that concealed all. Truthfully, at the back of her mind, she was glad it had been Soren whom found her and not somebody else. If it was that puny demon, he most likely would've accompanied her on her quest of solitude. Just pondering what anybody else might've done never scared her as much as this moment did, right now. Would he laugh at her? Probably. Oh how humiliating she was. |

Re: Divulged By Emotion || Private
He finally did it. Something that was so hidden that even he wasn't sure it was there - true emotion from Evelyn. He thought there was a high chance, but she behaved so emotionless all of the time he was beginning to doubt it, but was glad he was wrong. This would enable to bring her back much easier, or at least, not disappear. A smile forming across her face before the tears would flow freely. He sighed deeply, not even noticing the fact that both if his arms and hands were actually broken; he didn't feel it for some reason in this moment, but he did feel one thing - the desire to help out the lost.
Because in reality, he was always there.
Yes... Another reason for his search was a conclusion. The conclusion that if he found someone like himself, he wouldn't have to be alone, that they'd understand. It was when he was most desperate, however, that he began feeling slight pain occurrences in both his arms, and his hands, and it was steadily increasing. Not yet...! he thought to himself, wrapping his arms around Evelyn, in a caring embrace. "Don't be selfish, because you're being given love, too. We live in a world where the risk of death is incredibly real, yet it is not the biggest threat we face, it's actually only the thought of one possibly dying that gives fear, rather than death itself. Funny, isn't it?"
His arms and hands were starting to shake, but he couldn't let go of her just yet. "People will die. It's just how the world is." He went silent for a few seconds. But at least, they'll be remembered. He hugged her tighter than before, "But you can't let that fear stop you. You need to carry on. There's a reason they died, and why you're alive. You can call it the unfortunate fate of the world, or because of an accident, or because they were sick, it doesn't matter, because that was their fate, yet yours was to remain alive." While his previous shaking was barely noticeable, it could now be felt very clearly. "Don't let your fate go to waste while theirs was ended. Do you really think they'd appreciate that? Completely detaching yourself from life? Do you think that we'd appreciate it?"
He was sweating, and had to take a few deep breaths. "There's a reason we want you around, and we're more than willing to risk ourselves for it. We'll all die eventually... Yet, you only focus on death. Focus on the life. Live it with us, whether you go first, or we go first. We should spend however much time we have together! If you're too afraid, you might as well not exist." He had to grit on his teeth before speaking his final sentences. "And you're here. I'm here. There are a lot of people waiting for you, too. Don't run away from us, and don't run away from yourself, either. Stay with us... And we won't forget you... And you won't forget us..." He knew he'd go before anyone else.
"So... Spend all of your time with us! For however long that may be... And we'll spend our time with you. Don't just... Disappear... That's the most disgraceful of leaves; you're spitting in our face and throwing us to the curb by doing so." he could no longer stand the pain from his broken limbs and had to stop the hug, and fall to the ground next to her, looking up to the sky, taking multiple deep breaths, ignoring the pain as best as he could. "You can't be so afraid."
He looked up to the sky and gave it a very light smile, quickly fading, and actually becoming a small frown. "I... Broke both of my arms and hands by that fall. I'm not entirely sure how I didn't notice earlier, but the pain just came to me; I can't move either one of them. If you still want to disappear... Now would be the time to do so. A genius like myself won't really get another opportunity to find you, so this is your best chance to escape reality... But if you do... You'll be a coward. You'll be disregarding everything everyone has ever given to you and treat it as nothing." He turned his head to look at her.
"So, please, don't go."

Re: Divulged By Emotion || Private
As she waited and waited. Nothing came. Not laughter or the parting of two forms. Just silence. Now, as her fingers draped almost protectively over the features of her wet and deplored face, part of her wished that something would happen. It was akin to reading the first chapter of a book, and being abandoned with the shocking event that would pull and deluge you further into the next page. Hands carefully crept a few inches from the placing of her eyes, daring to peer over the shelter of cover to see what was happening, or perhaps, what sort of expression Soren was making at this very moment. But just as she was about to catch sight of such a thing, the male wrapped his strong arms around her, imposing her upward into a tightening embrace. Unable to react to the affection that was being given to her, words drifted into her ears like the soft breeze that danced across this mountainous range. No matter how much he cared. This one was only met with worry. It frustrated her to no end that none would ever understand. Yet despite it all, she found truth in his words as he spoke on and on. Deep down, within her heart that none ever thought to exist, aroused many emotions. She felt as though she could live up to the expectations of all those who believed in her, to be happy and to be open. All of that, was capable with her, just as it had been back then. Despite this though, the time for being open was not ready. Just as Soren had stated, she would be a coward, if she ran from it all. And a coward she was. Even as he looked at her, almost pleading her not to go, the supposedly young woman stood to her feet hesitantly, pools of ocean staring off to the side. Many questions raced through her mind, it was a struggle to move even a foot away from the blonde who had broken both of his arms. As cruel as she could be, leaving him here - wounded, after it was evidently her at fault for the issue, pressed movement into booted feet. It seemed as if she were leaving. Treading up the hillside they had previously tumbled brutally down, and towards the forest. Not until she reached the very top, was when she forced herself to come to a halt. Just as her mind had perviously stated; leaving him here, in this state, was something she definitely did not want to remember for the next few years of her life, everyday regretting a choice that could have simply been made. Soren may have guessed, by the next few minutes that faltered by; she had most surely left. But, as the silence of Serene Cliff would flood out around him, a familiar tapping of feet would resound louder and louder into the area. The same figure, now standing before him. Kneeling down, pale red locks wavered slightly in the drift of wind, hands aiding the male upwards so that he may be able stand. "I can't stay, Soren." her gaze drifted away as she continued to speak, "But at least for tonight, I'll stay with you. So that I can tell you... everything it is, that nobody else knows." a soft smile traced her lips as she faced his way, "Maybe then you'll understand..." at her words she started to wander off once more, this time assuming he would follow. It was her intention to both help him down the mountain and to indeed, confess the many secrets that settled within her. Of course, she did doubt that he would not believe her. And that to her, was fine. In the end, he would discover everything. Every truth unraveled into the horrid place of reality. |

Re: Divulged By Emotion || Private
For the first time, Soren wasn't successful. He didn't put much thought into what he'd do when he found Evelyn, anyways, but he always did believe he would manage anything in the moment. This was proven to be otherwise in that night. He would lay down on the grassy ground and stare up to the night sky, feeling his internal hollowness more than ever, because he had failed. It wasn't what he did. He couldn't fail. It just... Wasn't within him, and yet, here he was, the person who he wanted to get back, walking away.
Man, did it suck.
He kept on telling himself in the back of his mind - You still haven't lost her yet. Be patient. You're a genius, so you're bound to find her again. but he couldn't listen to logic as the hollowness in his mind and heart kept on creeping on. He always made a habit of not being emotional about people, but he couldn't help it when it came to a scenario like this one. For the second time in his life, he felt defeated.
...But that was quickly washed away, and there was hope to not lose another once more. Creeping footsteps, all too familiar, approached him and helped him up to stand once more. She was there - Evelyn wasn't gone yet. He listened to her words, and while he wasn't pleased, it was more than he needed... But it'd be hard work.
Soren could feel that she meant her words in not being able to stay. He also knew that, for tonight, he couldn't make her stay. In all honesty, he knew he wouldn't be able to make it permanent, either; that wasn't entirely right. He could, but, it would inevitably go away, as he would. Still, he couldn't help it - someone was disappearing from his life again, and there was hardly anything he could do, and emotion was going rampart within him. He could never show it, though, and so, internal sacrifices must be made. Yet, it was the best position to be in. He knew he would at the very least get her interest.
And so, the act of eternal nothingness has begun,
The very fiber of being, would be consumed,
It was like a moment,
Frozen in time,
Was it a dream?
...Or reality?
The very fiber of being, would be consumed,
It was like a moment,
Frozen in time,
Was it a dream?
...Or reality?
He could see the emptiness already taking form, the first step. Why had this all begun, though? Well, he came to a conclusion. To begin with, it was inevitable. The fading would eventually take place, no matter what he did. Yet, if he avoided it purposely, he would never get his full potential, nor would it give him more life past a single year. So, instead of taking all that time for less...
...He would sacrifice it for more.
He was a genius, after all, and with more potential, he could definitely solve anything. In fact, he probably already knew the solution to the problem, before it was even discussed. He knew what he had to do, how to do it, and in what way to do it. Oh yeah, a nice perk to this is that his arms were completely healed because of the amount of energy constantly being consumed, so a plus one there!
He was carefully adjusting to his arms; they were still in pain, and no longer would he be so desperate to keep her with him, because, he knew it already - it would never work. So, instead... He would understand, and from there, would he be able to do everything he must. He took a deep sigh and gave her a light smile after seeing hers, the first time she ever did. "I'll listen," he stated, "And draw my own conclusions from that."
What that really meant was that whatever it was, it was already taken care of.

Re: Divulged By Emotion || Private
Time would pass as the two made way through the canopy of ridges and lofty trails, the star of morning plunging towards the horizon until darkness swept over the landscape of Serene's forest. Flames ignited forth the fortune of light with the sway of electricity that leaked out from slender fingers, an already set campground established as the two would sit on either side from the warmth of crackling embers. Many grasshoppers shouted out within the night, distant owls letting their presence be known through the shadows of the tall trees as the trifling fire sparked on and on through the moon lit evening. Even as minute after minute went by, none of the two spoke. The slayer of thunder could only sit in silence, musing how to begin or start with such a severe conversation. It was rather unfamiliar to be leaning on the topic about her. She was not self-concieted or observed enough to be comfortable with regularly speaking about herself. In fact, she could genuinely say - from within her mind - that it was quite awkward. Despite this though, all the inelegance and disregard did not matter in this situation. Once a promise was made, it would be kept. That was the pride that rushed through her blood. "You hardly know me, yet, for some reason I feel like I've known you forever." the beginning of a story would start, little hope grasped onto the fact that a mer human might find this hard to believe, "I want to tell you a tale. It is up to you to decide wether its true or not. In the end, I don't think it would really matter." slender legs slid up against the chest, arms curling around her knees as if to secure the warmth that the fire produced. For a few seconds, her royally blue pools focused on the red that lashed out before them both, as if searching through memories on where to begin. Though in nearing minute, her lips started to move on their own, "A very long time ago, a young girl was brought into a very strange world, called Nayug. It was the place of gods and angels, and she, was the outcast within it. Every god in that world, held their own kingdom, and their own household of angels and children that would one day go off and create their own civilization. This young girl, was brought up as Corenglaw's child, the god of lightning and thunder. Many loved her, despite her sudden appearance and no similarity in relation. She was a kind and sweet girl, yet, one day, something strange happened. Something that the little girl, at that time, did not remember. Though it seemed clear, that this accident was her fault - ever since then, the angels and her own father did not treat her the same. When important gatherings would occur, the young girl was often forced to go to her room and stay there for hours. Many had forgotten she even existed, and she wondered when was the last time she saw her father. The young girl started to grow frustrated, she went out of her way to create havoc just to receive Corenglaw's attention." with a pause, her expression grew more tense, a soft frown arched into her brows, "After centuries of this tease, the young girl was one day brought to the gathering between Gods. Only, she was not invited as one of them, but as a terrorist and parasite to the world of Nayug. She was thrown into the portal of waste, and banished from her world. Even when she tried calling out to her own father, he could only look away in remorse... Though she had often heard that the portal of waste was one that kept going on for aeons of years, for some reason, she had ended up in another strange world, called Earth-land. It was not full of angels or gods, but rather humans. She easily befriended these species, as they were similar in appearance to her and acted somewhat the same. Yet for some reason, they died much more quickly than she expected. The young girl thought that something was wrong with these humans. That they might be sick or need help." soft laughter swept out from her lips, though, it was not something of bliss, but rather, sorrow. "In the end though, she found that she was the one at fault. Gods were capable of dying. They may have been immortal, but severe wounds would not stop that case. Yet, it was different for the girl. After many kingdoms of humans discovered her rare ability to not die, she was forced to leave her friends and watch many of them suffer. At often times though, she was caught and experimented on, or caged away like some sort of animal. It wasn't until the next century that she had lost herself. Given in and submitted to the fate this world would give her. Eventually, she vanished, and many had forgotten she ever existed." resting the forehead into her hands, face hidden in the knees and chest, she continued; voice quivering slightly with emotion, "Because this world had been so cruel to her, she thought if she could be distant, and cruel in return, that nobody would bug her. She wouldn't have to worry about getting close, or making friends. After all, the girl didn't think she could go through that ever again... to watch the people she loved, slowly die before her eyes..." it almost sounded like she was crying. Rather, she just didn't want Soren to see the expression she was making right now. To her, being in such a pitiful state was humiliating. |

Re: Divulged By Emotion || Private
The sun would trinkle down slowly, and no word would emerge from either of the two. Soren had a perfectly reasonable reason as to why - he already told Evelyn it was his time to listen, so he was waiting for her to speak. From what he knew of her personality, she would be fairly weirded out by speaking about herself; he could tell. He hardly ever heard her say anything about herself. In fact, the only thing he really knew about her that she told him directly was her name. He barely knew her, yet, he knew her the best, too. But, he was patient. If he absolutely had to, he'd go to his "resort" if she tried to get away, but he knew she wouldn't.
And finally, began the words of a lifetime.
A story that... Wasn't fantasy. With every word he heard, it was as though he could see it from the perspective of the speaker as it was happening. With every word becoming more and more quietly shattered, the more and more real did the story become. There was no room to be skeptical about this matter, especially when he had a dirty little secret of his own. Silence was the only thing that came from Soren from the first minute after having listened to the story, Evelyn, or rather, Nayug as he found out. He couldn't properly see her expression she was making because she was hiding it, but he was certain it wasn't one of joy. He wouldn't comfort her... At least, not yet.
In reality, he was more angry than ever with her.
But, he wouldn't be able to put it in a way he wanted to. This girl had a strange meaning to him, one he could not place, so he would have to eventually discover for himself. "The story of a lifetime of unfortunate events...", he said quietly, "...truly, I am not sure what to make of it, though I believe you." He took a deep breath and sighed, "But the thing that annoys me most of all... Is how completely and utterly selfish you're being." Oh boy. This was about as easy as he could go on her, even after heavily trying to not be hard on her. "You think you can come into the lives of others, make them care for you, and then back off? No... No no no no no... It doesn't work that way."
He stood directly in front of her now, even if she wasn't looking at him. "Which is why even if you try to get away from me, it won't matter - I will find you, and I'll make sure that you're at least with me. Because, believe it or not, as harsh and as cold and as distant as you try to be, that's damn attractive to some and it will definitely make people curious about you. And eventually come to care for you. Like me." ...Okay... Not exactly what he wanted to say, but he somehow got there... "And right now, you have a problem - you back away too much. You can't do that with me. I'll keep on prying till you eventually have no choice but to tell me what's the problem. And the best thing about it? We'll solve it. Because... I don't like seeing people I care for struggle. And I won't let you struggle on your own."
He took a deep breath and wanted to slap himself; was that what he really wanted to say?! Fuck no! But he did, regardless, and he wouldn't be able to change the subject so easily now... He decided to curl a finger around her chin and raise it up, so he could see her face; it was what he expected in the sense it was the face of a current unfortunate. "Trust in me, even if it's difficult for you to do so." he said as he looked her directly in her eyes. "I don't know the whole details... But I can guess some of them as to why you disappeared based off of the story you gave me, and I can also promise you this - we'll solve them." He wanted to look away in shame because of his own situation, but he couldn't.
"We've got others, but even if they don't help, put your faith in me." he said with a small and light smile, "In the end, I promise you won't be disappointed, because... I'm brilliant."
Yet, she would, even when he knew he was good enough to take care of the problems, even when he was reliable, even when he knew that while he was alive that he'd be able to give her the best experience she'd ever have, it was him that would inevitably go, but not by choice, and never through death.
