Find those puppies job (Ruminal and Bitterblue)

It took some convincing but Ruminal finally managed to talk his mother into letting him take on a simple job by himself. The trip from the island was a long one to say the least. First he had to take a boat ride off the island then walk his way to Magnolia. Well not really walk per say, thanks to his god side Ruminal is able to transform into a wolf for faster travel. It shortened the trip by a few hours at least but it still took a while and his arms and legs were tired. Once he made is way outside of Magnolia Ruminal stopped to catch his breath for about an hour before entering the town. The job poster says to meet with a young lady by the name of Jade at her home on the west side of Magnolia. Ruminal wasn't very familiar with the town so it took some wandering to find. As he was ready to walk up to Jade's house he found another person standing outside.

Nessa was kind of getting tired from all of her travels so she thought that it would be nice to do a job that was near home for a change. She had gone to her guild and found a job that was close to home but would still feel like a travel. For her job, Nessa decided to wear her green tee shirt that had a lion's picture in the middle. She also wore her black jeans, with her sneakers. She had her sweatshirt tied around her waist with her sword hanging out of it. She always brought it with her just in case.

Nessa was close to were the poster said to go to. She would have to talk to a girl named Jade at her home. She got there a little early so she decided to just sit on the steps and wait. Upon waiting she saw many people passing by. Nessa never really stopped on her travels to see what the locals like to do, or do on a regular bases. She saw one woman talking with a man that owned what looked like a food market. She also saw a few little kids playing a game that she couldn't quiet remember. Finally she saw a little boy, who looked to be around 7 or 8 years old. She got up and went to the boy "Are you lost?"

Ruminal looked the girl up and down examining her to see if she was a threat but couldn't find anything... Threatening. However he did noticed what looked like a wizards job poster hanging out of her pocket. He figured she was here for the job just as he was. She didn't look dangerous but you can never tell with wizards. "No, I believe I'm at the right place." He said as he held up the job poster. "I take it you also are here for the missing dog's job? Your poster is hanging out of your pocket." Truth be told Ruminal was fighting to keep his nerves under control. Looking around there were so many people around, kids playing, people walking around to get through there day. Ruminal felt like the whole world is watching him. He wanted nothing more than to get away from here as fast as possible. "Well sense we are both here why don't we work together?"

Nessa finally noticed what the little boy was holding. It was the flyer for the job that she came here to do. Oh, well I guess it would make sense for him to do a job like this one, she thought. She looked the boy up and down to try and take him in. He was dressed a bit differently from the little boys that were around them, but she guessed cause it was something to do with where he was from. Though she didn't really have a say in the matter of dressing differently cause she was the one with a sword at her side.

Um, this is new but, I guess new is good for me right now, she thought. She took another look around before she sighed, and turned to the little boy with a small smile on her lips. "Well, if we do, do this job together then we should at least know each other's names," she said. She put her hand out for him to shake. "My name is Nessa Rose Blue, and you are?"

"I'm Ruminal Blackrose, nice to meet you." He said with a nervous smile. The crowd of people around was still getting to him but was trying to play it off. "So why don't we head inside then and talk to the dog owner." he asked trying to get inside and away from the bystanding people around. Ruminal knocked on the door and a middle aged man opened the door. "Yes can I help you?" He asked. "Hi we are here for the missing puppies job you...." Ruminal started to say but was cut off. "Oh yes please come in." He eagerly said welcoming them in. His home looked normal enough with the addition of the dog pen just outside and the smell of dog all over the place although it might not be noticeable to normal people. Ruminal and his heighten senses could easily pick it up.  "So why don't we get straight to business, is there anything you can tell us about the pups whereabouts as of now? Any information would do."

Nessa could tell that the little boy, who's name she learned was Ruminal, seemed to be slightly afraid of all the people that were around them. She guessed that he wasn't use to a lot of people. She kind of could see why, I mean if you were a little boy in a new place would you want to be surrounded by people that you didn't know? "Um, sure lets go inside." she said but the boy had already started knocking on the door. He was interrupted when a man opened the door. I thought that we were going to be talking to a female, she thought. She shrugged and gave a little sigh. It might be her father, she thought. She sat down and was about to ask the man a couple of questions but Ruminal had already beaten her to it. Hmm, alright let's see how he does, she thought with a little smile on her face. She leaned back into the chair and listened as Ruminal asked questions and the man answered them.

The client informed them that the dogs have been spotted here and there over the past few days but no one has been able to get close enough to them before they run away. The client also informed them that there are seven pups in total and they seem to be scattered around the village. With that part said it means that the pups are sticking together and are just free roaming the place on there own. After getting the location information of there last known locations Ruminal thanks the  man for the information and set out with Nessa to find them and bring them home.

Once outside Ruminal turned to Nessa for his thoughts on the matter. "I think sense there scattered all over the place we should split up and search each individual areas of the pups last known locations." He pulled out a map from his bag and marked the locations on his map based on the info provided by the client. "I'll check out these 3 area's you check out these 3 and then we will meet back here to check out this last area. Sound good?"

To be very honest, Nessa was surprised by how well Ruminal handled doing the questioning. She was even more surprised when they went out side and Ruminal already had an idea of getting the pups. Is this kid really younger than me, she thought. As she listened to Ruminals plan she wasn't surprised of how organized it was. I mean if he can handle a questioning and already have an idea I shouldn't be surprised about the plan, she thought. "Alright that sounds good." She ran off to her first area, the one closest to them right now.

Hmm, okay now if I were a puppy where would I go hiding, she thought. She looked under cars. She looked in small cracks between houses. She even went looking inside garbage bags. "Uh, this might be a tiny bit harder than I thought." She said allowed. She sat down on the floor real quick to try and figure out how to get the puppy. Just than she saw a little shadow go past her and into a little hole on the side of the house that she just checked. Well lets start there again, she thought with a little smile on her lips.

As Nessa took off to find her pups Ruminal took off to fine his. He too went to the closes last known location of this puppy. Ruminal looked around, asked locals nearby if they have seen them but to no avail. Finally Ruminal got a lucky break and a person passing by said he saw a dog not to long ago. Ruminal ran up to him for questioning and found out the pup was about a block back and took off running. By the time he got there the pup was gone. Ruminal was starting to get sick of the cat and mouse chase and decided on a different approach. He looked around to make sure no one was watching and transformed into his wolf form and started sniffing around for the dogs sent. Several minutes went by and he finally got the sent of the dog and began to follow it.

Nessa was lucky enough that she was just the right size to go threw the hole that the pup had gone threw. The hole actually turned out to be a little tunnel. She followed the tunnel down until she came to a split. Oh great which way am I supposed to go now, she thought. Nessa than remembered that she head super good hearing. Her hearing was way better than any human or animal's hearing. She sat in silence as she listened for the little pups patter of the paws. It was a bit hard with the small echo in the tunnels but she managed to find that it was coming from the left tunnel so, she went left.

She found the small pup at the end of the tunnel sleeping. Well that's good that its a dead end I thought I would have to chase it again, she thought. Nessa was lucky enough that the pup was wearing a collar. She had brought some leashes so she hooked one to the pups collar. Not wanting to wake up the sleeping animal, she lifted it up gently and walked out of the tunnels. "Well that's one down, I wonder how Ruminal is doing?" She said out loud.

Ruminal followed the scent to the edge of town and to a nearby park. There were a few people around going about there daily lives. Some where jogging others just having fun around the park. Some were even playing with the dog he was... Ruminal transformed back to his human form and ran for the dog. That was his dog alright had the same scent as the one he was tracking for the past half hour. "Excuse me, hi." Ruminal said walking up to the two young adults playing with the dog. "This dog's owner has been looking for him for a few days now and asked me to try and find him and bring him back." Ruminal tried to explain, very poorly but well enough. The two guys understood the situation well enough to allow Ruminal to take the dog back to his owner but the dog was a bit riled up and made things a bit difficult the trip back.

Nessa didn't mind carrying the small pup with her while she went to go find it's other siblings. And when it woke up it might be able to help find the other ones as well. Nessa stopped for a while to remember her next area she was supposed to look in. Hmm, it said that it should be around these school grounds, she thought. She started her search and pretty soon, the little sleeping pup had woken up. Nessa put the little guy down so that he could walk. Thank you to whoever invented the leash, she thought. Nessa kept her eyes open but also on the pup as well. She heard that a dog can tell when its family is near and will act differently. Whoever said that was right too cause the pup was trying to run east, so Nessa ran east as well. "This is getting interesting." Nessa said as she ran following the pup.

Ruminal  took longer than he would like to admit taking the dog back to its owner. It was so wound up that it couldn't sit still and walk without trying to run or bark at every thing they passed. But it was whatever, the first dog was returned and Ruminal was on this way to his second location. According to the dog's owners this pup was last sighted in an old warehouse district, as for what a dog would be doing around there Ruminal had no idea. It might have just been passing by to another location, hopefully he could get a scent at least. Once there Ruminal was in his wolf form sniffing around for a possible scent for a little while before giving up on that idea. Any scent that would have been left behind has long faded meaning that dog was just passing by. Ruminal was about to give up on this location as a hot spot until he noticed a hole dug under a fence leading to a forest area on the edge of town.

Nessa was about to fall from all the running that she was doing with the little pup. Her little pup had led her to an area where it mostly looked like it was a field of very tall grass. Well at least I'm not having to crawl after them, she thought. With a sigh, Nessa and the pup went into the field searching for the second puppy. A while had passed and Nessa didn't even get a feeling that they were near the other puppy. "Now I remember why I don't bring anything into tall grass, you lose them!" She mumbled to herself. Even though she hadn't got a glimpse of the dog, she didn't give up. She had a job to do and she was determined to do it till the end.

Her and the pup had been walking for a while now, so she decided to take a break. She found a small little circle in which the could sit. She went and sat down, soon the pup came and sat on her lap. The next thing Nessa knew the puppy was already fast asleep. I'm just gonna take a wild guess that your the lazy one of the bunch, she thought. She smiled and gave a small chuckle. She decided to take a quick nap, so she rested on a pretty big rock that was near by. Though she didn't get to sleep much cause the next thing she knew she was woken up by barking. She saw that her pup was barking frantically and wanted to go somewhere. "Well it looks like family is near by." She said she took the pup and went looking again.

Once on the other side of the fence, Ruminal began sniffing around for any leads to where the pup might be. It didn't take to long to find a scent meaning it must be close by.  With that said Ruminal started to hear barking in the distance and they were getting louder every second. "Well, at least I don't have to guess which way the dog went." Ruminal thought and took off running in the direction he heard them coming from. While he was running towards the sounds of the pup barking in the distance he noticed something odd about the sound patterns. They were getting louder and quieter at random, they weren't yelps of fear meaning the dog must be chasing something and is running around frantically to try and catch whatever it was. There was a clearing up ahead to an open meadow where Ruminal spotted the little dog chasing a rabbit around. The rabbit looked panicked based on how it was frantically running around the meadow but the dog looked like it was just trying to playing with it.

Nessa and her pup, had went a bit further into the tall grass. The pup had lead her to a clearing with a small hut like building in the middle. Nessa looked down and saw that her pup was still barking at the building. Well it looks like we're checking in the building then, she thought. She let the pup lead since she could tell that he knew his family was there. At first she kept the pup on his leash so that he couldn't run away. But than she saw that the door was closed and there was no where else he could go. Well, at least like this you get some running in, she thought as she bent down and unhooked the leash.

She watched as the small pup went around sniffing everything. It ran around the whole room than stopped right in the center and sat down. "Are you tired already?" She asked the pup, though she knew that it was pointless. But a couple minutes after he sat down, another pup came out of its hiding place between the couch and the wall. Lazy, Nessa had named the pup since he liked to sleep, jumped up and ran over to his sister. He jumped on her and they went rolling. "Heh, looks like he's been missing you." She said to herself. She saw as the too played that the other pup was happy but a bit timid about her brother. "I'm gonna call you.. Shy." She said with a smile. "Come on now its time to find your other siblings." Nessa bent down and but a leash on Lazy and Shy, then opened the door to look for the next pup.

Ruminal whistled to get the dogs attention, the dog stopped chasing the rabbit and made his way over to the  young mage. "At least you like to listen to others unlike your brother." he said petting the dog on the head. Ruminal grabbed the dog by the collar and began to guide them out of the forest and back into the village and towards the dogs home. While he was dropping off his second dog he asked the dog owner if he had seen the girl who was helping him with this job. He had not seen her yet and that made Ruminal wonder, maybe she was just taking her time bringing them back and was going to bring em back all at once. He headed back know with that thought in mind but decided to still keep an eye out for her just in case and made his way to his last location.

(OOC: Sorry about the long waits, life got busy for me. T_T I should be showing at least a bit more activity now.)

As Nessa was leaving she started to wonder how Ruminal was doing. She hadn't been going back to the house cause she had brought the leashes and she thought that the dogs might help finding the others. I hope he's doing a good job, she thought to herself. Now that Nessa had two of the dogs she let them lead her to the last dog that she had to find on her own. Though that wasn't really a good idea cause the dogs would keep leading her to food stands...

Finally Nessa was forced to ask people if they had seen a pup that looked like them. Nessa doesn't really talk much so for her to have to ask people means she has to talk to them. She saw a group of guys about her age so she guessed to start there. "Excuse me, but um, have you seen a little pup running around that looks like these two?" She asked the group gesturing to the little pups on the leash with her. "A pup? I saw one." One with a beanie said. "That's great! May I know where you saw it?" He then pointed her to a play ground with little kids running around all over. "It was following a kid with popcorn." He said. "Thank you so much." Nessa said giving him a little bow and ran to go get her last pup before she had to meet up with Ruminal to get the last pup.

The last spot Ruminal was suppose to check was located in front of Magnolia's Cathedral. As he arrived he found many people walking around but no signs of the last pup. So many people have been coming and going from this place it would be impossible to pick up the dog's scent let alone a trail of foot prints. The young god started walking around the Cathedral area in hopes of spotting the little runaway or at least hear him or her barking. He circled the building several times before giving up on that idea. Was then Ruminal realized that he had never been in the Cathedral before and decided to take a short break and take a look inside.

The building main hall was very... Spacious. Along the sides were large beautiful crafted windows and tall pillars extending all the way up to the ceiling above. The room had to have been at least 2 maybe 3 stories tall. At the end was some stairs leading up to an alter were the high priest was standing with... "Hey! Excuse me!" Ruminal said running up the alter. The dog he was searching for was inside all along keeping the high priest company.
