The stars speckled the sky like salt, on a slab of stone near the ocean. The thin Crescent moon dangled ahead of them, providing a light cyan hue to the scenery. The night air was cool, with only a subtle breeze to wisp the cloak of the white clad wizard, and the Magenta locks of his lovely companion. The sky seemed to fade in to a reddish hue in the background, due to the light of the city at the two wizard's heel, polluting the wondrous sky with man-made light. The ground was dry and barren, as if they were walking through a desert. However there was no sand, only dry solid ground beneath their feet. As they walked further away from Talonia, the noise of the hustle and bustle faded, along with the light pollution, in to a far calmer and more beautiful atmosphere. Talonia was a city that never slept, and Shuhei had never experienced a place that felt so unnatural to him. The light itself, produced by the city tasted sour to the White Dragon Slayer, and left a bad taste in his mouth. Truly, he was happy to be away from it.
Shuhei breathed a sigh of relief, when the noise faded completely and then looked to his companion as they walked side by side towards their destination. In spite of being an excellent judge of character, he wasn't entirely sure what to make of the Devil beside him. They'd only just met days prior to this event, and since that day, Shuhei has not witnessed a genuine emotion out of her yet. She'd smile, and act normal, but all Shuhei saw was a blank canvas with Devil's wings. The White Wizard hummed as he strode along side her. "Lovely night, wouldn't you say?" He'd attempt small talk, knowing full well that most, if not all of his usual charming tricks would have no effect on such a Devil in disguise.
At that very moment, thunder struck. A flash of white light followed by bellowing thunder echoed throughout the region, and it began to pour cats and dogs. Like a curtain falling, the rain fell unto them and drenched them in mere moments. Shuhei stood embarrassed and didn't say a word for a while. "You know, I was feeling a little parched." He'd say sarcastically, chuckling lightly and hoping for a response from his companion. Another flash of lightning brightened the sky for a moment, and another echo of thunder ensued. The subtle breeze also became a howling gale, that pushed against them as if beckoning them to return to Talonia. "Lovely, just absolutely lovely!" Shuhei would shout with a smile, taking pleasure in the irony.
