Personality: Outside of battle, she is a calm and collected person who is rather introverted (not shy, she just prefers to keep to herself). She is a very proud person and is said to have a large yet fragile ego. She does not really look down on others but she does have a high opinion of herself and acknowledges her value, just as she acknowledges her weaker points (means that she doesn't put herself down yet she doesn't sugarcoat things). Some might see her as a distant and aloof, even arrogant person due to her being so blunt and unwilling to open up easily. That behavior is based on her inner conflicts, though, not on her hating everyone else. She does have problems getting in touch with her own emotions and often feels overwhelmed by them. That's why she tries to observe everyone else around her to get an overview of them. That may come off as judgmental, but she only tries to 'get used to feelings'. People who know her better notice this at one point and might even experience her trying to mimic others, which may look a bit ridiculous. In battle, her personality changes a little bit. She keeps her analytical side and is able to detect her opponent's strengths and weaknesses pretty fast. She also is skilled when it comes to making up strategies and 'foreseeing' the foe's plans / guessing the foe's intentions. Usually, she prefers fighting on her own since that means she is only in charge of herself and not of others' safety and health. A lot of people tell her she would make an excellent leader due to her skills and experiences in battle. Those suggestions are always brushed off (kind of harshly). What most people don't know though is that she secretly is afraid of being responsible for the lives of others, that fear being based on several incidents in her past. She displays that insecurity in that area as disinterest and, once again, gives off the impression to be hard-hearted and arrogant.
During a fight she completely switches off her emotions, or rather, she suppresses them completely since they can't really be 'turned off' that easily. That only works if she is sure about being on her own, though. As soon as she fights with others there is constant anxiety nagging in the back of her mind, standing in her way of thinking and acting efficiently. That is why she despises working with others: she worries about them, despite knowing they often can take care of themselves, that worry stops her from being as strong as usually and that fact annoys her and makes her wish she was alone. It is a vicious circle which she truly wishes to escape from one day. It becomes less serious when she works under a leader though the pressure is still there.
Likes:
- Intellectual / Open-minded people: Being able to talk to someone who actually thinks things through and has valid arguments is refreshing to her, especially when these people can be discussed with without it turning into an argument.
- Individuality: Expressing oneself in an original way and proving that one is unique – that's what Lux strives for. The weirder someone is or the more accepting of one's quirks someone is, the more appealing they are in Lux' eyes.
- Freedom: The thought of being obliged to something or of having too many restrictions disgusts Lux. There are a lot of things she would rather give up than her 'freedom' – even though she sometimes fears it might only be an illusion.
Dislikes:
- Hypocrisy: Behaving like someone's superior to somebody else is already pretty upsetting for her, but only behaving like that without being a tad bit better is way worse.
- Overly aggressive people: It's not really that she despises violence – after all, she fights too and she recognizes that there sometimes really is no other way. But it being the very first option? Especially when the 'problem' is just a petty one? From that point on, she views it as plain stupidity.
- Possessiveness: Closely related to her love for freedom: being tied down is terrifying to her, therefore she cannot understand the point behind being possessive at all. It's unjust in her eyes and just a proof of something not going right if such obsessive behavior is necessary to keep something alive.
Motivations:
- Her friends: She values her friends above almost all, perhaps even above her freedom, since they are the people who accept her despite her negative aspects. It might be the desire to not disappoint them so whenever she finds herself in a tricky situation she remembers her friends and the fact that they have high expectations of her (she might assume they expect way more from her than they actually do).
