    Job:

    K
ateri took was passing through town on her way out from Hargeon to Rose Garden, needing to grab some supplies that otherwise couldn't be obtained in the wonderful port town of Hargeon. The reason she needed to get to Rose Garden so badly was because she'd found this weird book in the restricted section of Lamia Scale Guild Hall's Grand Library. It was black mostly, with some gold accents around it. The book had a leather casing, and everywhere the name of the book or its author was supposed to be written someone had gone and scratched it off. She'd also gone through some troubles in that damned restricted section to get the book out. It was an ingenious plan really, all she had to do was take the book and toss it out the door and then jump out the same door before it could close and the two Restricted Section golem, guardian thingies could laser shot her to hell and back.

Kateri had just reached the gates of the town of Magnolia, a large city that had been partially fucked up beyond all recognition after some crazy cultist bitch decided to stroll in and try to raise some dead dragon thing, using the civilians as a sacrifice. At that time, she'd found a young boy sitting by the door to the city guard with his head between his knees. Getting closer, she saw he was shaking. Getting closer than that, she heard sobbing, sniffling, and saw tears hitting the ground below him. She kneeled down, resting a hand on the back of his head but pulling it back when she saw him shudder. Her eyes grew soft and she placed her hand back on the boy's head, rubbing the smooth hair gently and watching as he slowly relaxed. He turned his head, looking at Kateri's light blue eyes with sadness in his own. Kateri gave him a warm smile and said "What's up little cub?" with a friendly tone. He sniffled while wiping tears from his eyes. "Wh-what?" he asked with a sad, confused voice. "That's a pretty funny thing to have up." she joked at him. The boy got even more confused, trying to make heads or tails of the person he was looking at. "What's got ya cryin' kid?" she rephrased the original question. "I- This -sniffle- this person from school." he said with a whiny voice. "What about the guy from school?" she asked while she began sitting next to him. Kateri wrapped her arm around the boy, ignoring the discomfort of having her back pressed against two guns. "He's always hurting me, and taking my lunch money, and-" the boy's rant was interrupted by the sound of Kateri pulling the hammer on one of her revolvers. "I can take care of that." she said coldly. "N-no that's not... If you can just scare him... I'd be really thankful... I don't have much but you can have my lunch money for the next month!" the boy shouted with a hopeful voice. "I can do that too..." she said with a warm voice and a smile.

She patted him on the head, telling the boy to head home and don't worry about his pain in the ass anymore, that she would personally take care of it. The boy did as told, making sure when he got home that he had something to give the nice lady. Kateri waited till nightfall before she made her move. The plan, as she went over with her friend, loyal companion, and at this point first born child Shadow, a half snake, half dragon mix that blended into the night flawlessly, was that Kateri would find Shadow a way to get in and he would make his way to the target's room where he'd wake him up. Kateri would have snuck in and planted a few lacrima around the room with a prerecorded message on them. Shadow would move his mouth to mimic speaking as the recording played. Once that was done, Kateri would work a bit of magic to screw with the kid, and if the bully was your average run of the mill, piece of shit, no good, pussy like all other bully's were; it should be done with.

As expected, Kateri's plan actually did work. She showed up the next day to the boy's school and watched from the gate as her client enjoyed a rather peaceful lunch with a big grin on his face. Across from him, on the absolute other end of the out door lunch area to be exact, his bully friend was sitting in a corner with his head between his knees. Kateri had a smirk as she watched him trembling, with dark blotched appearing on the concrete where his pitiful tears hit. The Lamia Scale mage felt pretty damn good about what she did, despite making some kid nearly shit himself and realize that his home isn't nearly as safe as he though it was.
