    Hi!
I would like to request a C to B-rank Examination for Duchess Rae Havoc.
I have been kindly given 1200 EXP by the white dragon slayer which should be enough for a B-rank. You can confirm this amount with Hikachu.

    Thank you

    H
ere he was again, inspecting the same person he was lead to perform a trial for the last time. However, he decided to try his hand at incorporating a little more effort into making an impression. Niyol was situated much higher than anyone could see, appearing as only a dot in the sky should someone look up. His distance from the ground would make his magical presence impossible to pick up on. He circled, mimicking the patter of a vulture as the young woman below walked down the path, surrounded on both sides by a lush plain. The air was comfortable on the ground, not frigid, but not humid and hot either. The winds passing made the honey colored plains ripple, shimmering like the ocean. Suddenly, a white powder appeared from all sides as a man, completely coated in white appeared before the Duchess holding his scythe. The distance was only a good ten or twelve meters, far enough away for her to see him entirely, but be at a disadvantage should she charge him.

"Greetings, Duchess Rae Havoc." the deep voice said, resonating from all corners of the world surrounding her. If Rae watched the man, she'd notice his mouth didn't move at all. Suddenly, the spirit of a large grizzly bear, colored dark blue but also translucent with a type of smoke coming off it stepped out from the brush. "I am the spirit of protection. You have neglected me before, but I have returned to teach you love if that is what you seek." the bear said, its voice was calm and level. A large wolf, easily twice her size appeared behind the Duchess looking the same translucent, blue and smokey way the bear did. "I am wrath you pest! I'll teach you power if that's what you want!" the shouted, its voice was raspy and still quite angry. An owl was seated on a sign post on the left of the path, it looked like the other two. "I am knowledge, you chose my path last we met... will you continue to seek me out child?" it said, the wise voice hadn't lost its luster. In the front of the path, between Rae and the white man a little girl stood... an exact image of Rae when she was forced to leave her home, sounding exactly the same as she said "I'm you... do you want forgiveness now?" being quite blunt.

The white man would not move, but, there was one option that the four spirits did not present... one that the white man would not tell her.

It was a lovely, unusually quiet day in the life of Rae. The Duchess was usually used to crowds of screaming fans following her around but the case was different today as she took a casual stroll on one of Fiore's greenest and most beautiful plains. The weather was just perfect, not freezing and not hot either, just perfect for a walk. Sadly, the wonderfulness of the day could not continue forever as a familiar white powder appeared out of no-where, causing Rae to jump back. In front of her stood the same white and shirtless man as last time. He was still holding that scythe from last time as his deep voice greeted her. A large dark-blue bear surprised her as it came out of one of the bushes near her. It introduced itself as the spirit of protection. It was followed by a large wolf, immediately she recognized the voice- Wrath. The next spirit that came out was the one she chose to challenge last time, the owl of knowledge. Last but not least there was an image of herself an year ago, as she left home. Forgiveness? Rae narrowed her red eyes at this.

The Duchess though about it for a moment before sending a challenging look at the large wolf spirit. "Wrath, It is power that I seek, challenge me." She spoke decisively.

he wolf erupted into nothing more than white powder before vanishing. Then the owl, then the bear, and finally the bear did the same. The man far ahead of her slammed the bottom of his staff against the ground, a voice booming from all directions. "It is strength you desire, it is strength you shall gain." the voice said. Again, the white man's lips made not a single motion as it was heard. The world around Rae disappeared, erupting in a blast of white flurry and being replaced by a new one. It was dark, with stars sparkling all about. Below their feet was a massive, ornate, circular white platform. Where her crown and sword were supposed to be, they had vanished. Looking across would reveal that the white man was wearing her crown, and swirling her blade between two fingers as though it were some office pen. No matter what she tried, no matter how many attacks she may perform; for some reason the white man was always thirty steps ahead of her, making retrieving the weapons impossible. A pair of swords would then appear before her, they were weak, old, and fragile... containing no magic at all. The white man finally spoke, his voice not nearly as deep as the one that greeted her when this all started. "It seems that you've lost your property." he would say with a smirk on his face. "Entertain me and I will return them to you." he would say before floating away, far beyond the grasp of Rae.

12 pillars would rise from the ground lining up as the numbers on a clock, some representing a different element. Touching each pillar will cause an elemental to appear, each elemental uses magic specific to its element and cannot be consumed by slayers.

    Fire
    Water
    Wind
    Earth
    Thunder
    Venom
    Light
    Dark

((These are the elements present, and will be the ones you face for the first half of your exam. Take 1,250 words minimum to defeat all 8 of the elemental golems. Their quality should be about average, not stronger than Rae but not embarrassingly weaker either. After this, there will be a second part to your exam.))

All of the spirits disappeared right in front of Rae, leaving only the white man in front of her. He said that he will give her strength, after slamming his staff onto the ground, immediately changing their surroundings to those of a gorgeous starry sky and a white platform, which she stood on. Looking around she noted that it was indeed a beautiful sight. Looking back at the man however her eyes narrowed. “Ghelgath!” She shouted in annoyance at her demon weapon, which in return gave a wave of cold air off. It, along with the Lord of Frost, was held by the white man who was playing around with them. The Duchess attempted to approach the man calmly and get them back, however he simply moved to the other side of the platform and two old, weak swords would appear in front of her. “It seems that you've lost your property." The reaper stated mockingly, smirking at the Duchess. Rae’s only response was to send him a freezing glare. Oh if looks could kill…  “Entertain me and I will return them to you.” He told her before floating off beyond her reach.

After the man vanished out of Rae’s eyesight twelve pillars appeared in front of her. They each had a different symbol engraved into them and a different name floating above them.  Scanning them her eyes landed on the one which had the word “Fire” floating above it. Oh how much she would struggle against it, if she was to fight it with Ghelgath and the Lord of Frost. Running a hand through her hair, the  Duchess looked at the next one which said “Water.” This one on the other hand wasn’t going to be hard to defeat at all if she had her weapons. IF she had them. The devil blood inside of Rae boiled in annoyance at her situation.  Wind and Earth were both elements which had neutral affinity towards her, she would have to go through quite the hassle to beat either.  The next two elements were Venom and Thunder… they were something the Duchess hadn’t faced a lot and she did not feel that this was the appropriate time for her to do so head on with a pair of almost-useless swords. The last pair of elements however caused the devil to let out a sigh of relief. Light and Dark.  Her affinity towards one of those was so obvious. Scanning the elements a second time she picked the two fragile swords up, one in each hand and approached the first pillar, a small smirk tugging to appear on her lips at her plan. It was no wonder that she was once the leading female of the Havoc family- she was a brilliant strategist.

Touching the pillar above which the text of “fire” floated caused a golem to appear and angrily swing a fist at Rae.  Adrenaline pumped through the veins of the nineteen year old female as she ran from it, barely dodging a fireball that flew her way. She could feel the golem following her causing her to look around for the next part of her master plan at defeating these things. Speeding up, the Duchess dodged another fireball before reaching the pillar of the Water element. The Devil however had no intention of stopping in front of it as she ran on top of it for a couple of seconds before it turned into the water golem. A small smirk appeared on her face as she jumped down from it and ran towards the fire golem, stopping just for a second and sticking her tongue out at the water golem. Just as the fire golem attempted to hit Rae, she went under his legs, successfully dodging both the attack from the fire golem and a huge wave of water which came from the water elemental. Smoke came off of the Fire elemental as it turned around to look at the Duchess.  “Try again, flame brain.” She taunted before slicing through the now weakened fire elemental with one of the old swords.

There was no time to savor the victory however as she got hit by a sphere of water. Biting her lower lip, the Duchess immediately ran towards the Earth pillar, barely dodging another sphere of water. Those things were hot, and the previous one definitely burned. Touching the pillar of Earth summoned a large brown golem just in time for Rae to use it as a shield against another one of the hot water spheres.  Rae’s red orbs landed back on the water elemental as she sprinted towards it, sprouting her devil wings and flying up just before it fired another attack at her. The earth golem, which stood behind Rae took the attack again causing a look of annoyance to appear on its face. It launched an attack at the water element, completely taking it down in the Duchess’ favor.  The devil then flew over to the wind elemental’s pillar and sat on top of it cockily as it transformed. The earth elemental attempted to throw a large rock at the nobility, stupidly hitting the wind golem in the head instead.  “Nice try.”  The female mage commented as she flew around the Earth golem like an annoying fly, immediately putting it as a target for the wind elemental. The process was, funnily enough repeated with both thunder and venom as elements.  Rae had happily realized that these brainless protectors of nothing were quite stupid and that they could potentially wipe each other out. Using this knowledge to her advantage the red-haired female landed a finishing strike on the tired Venom golem before her eyes landed on the Light and Dark elements.

Calmly walking up to the pillar of light and touching it, she jumped back as the elemental appeared. It glared at its challenger and immediately fired a pillar of light energy at her.  Dodging it swiftly, Rae ran towards it and jumped up in front of it, swinging her swords at it, giving it a couple of cuts here and there before getting hit by the golem’s large arm which sent her flying to the other side of the platform.  The Duchess was actually intending to fight it head on but…What do you think stood on the opposite of the light element? The Dark element, of course.  Summoning the dark golem as well  put the Duchess in a difficult defensive and offensive position. Rae spread her wings and flew up, dodging fire from both sides of the platform by just a couple of centimeters. Changing her grip on the good-for-nothing weapons, she decided to hold them with the hilt up and the blade down, hoping that when she flew by the elementals, she would leave scars by just spread her hands. Deciding to actually attempt that crazy plan, the Havoc Heiress flew towards the light golem, spinning around it in circles, leaving cuts and scratches and flying behind it just in time to dodge a finishing blow from the light elemental.

So, you think you can defeat me?” Rae taunted, her face showed no emotion, however her tone was sarcastic.  Running up to the golem she swung her swords several times at it’s foot, rolling over just in time to dodge it’s huge fist, which would’ve honestly turned her into a pancake. If she had either the Lord of Frost or Ghelgath, that thing would’ve already be sent into oblivion. Jumping up in order to hit it’s eyes, the Duchess got grazed by a claw of darkness which ripped a part of her body suit, revealing her bare shoulder and back. The red-haired female’s eyes started glowing crimson as she felt a bit annoyed at this occurrence. Slipping in between its legs and jumping on its back, Rae dealt several strikes to the annoying dark elemental before kicking it in anger, causing it to topple over. Dealing a final blow, the Duchess watched as the golem disappeared. Looking back at her clothes, she sighed and ran a hand through her long red hair in frustration.  “Was that entertaining enough?” She asked, still keeping her calm and cool composure as she ripped off the rest of her body suit. She would rather fight in underwear than have little bits and pieces of her suit tripping her.

he show was indeed grand, and showed the white man a minor fault in his golem's design, but he looked at the woman with a straight face. A white stool appeared and the man sat on it, resting his arms on his legs and leaning over to lock eyes with the woman. "Indeed, it was quite interesting..." he said with an emotionless tone before yawning. "...but I am not thoroughly entertained devil. Play with my toys more, perhaps I shall be entertained with their deaths." he said, snapping his fingers as the command.

The remaining pillars all turned into massive, steel golems. These were different from the others, they had a variety of non-magical guns as well as used actual magic. The golems were also highly intelligent, being able to dodge attacks, and learn tactics. These ones would never fall to the same tactic twice, and Rae's trick of making them hit each other wouldn't work at all since they already saw it before. These golems would fight only slightly above Rae's ability, but not so much so that it was a hopeless battle. What would make this task truly painful is that a small cracking sound was heard from the two swords, revealing that they were about to break.

((800 words minimum for this part, as stated the golems use guns, and steel magic. Their fighting ability is slightly above your own, but not detrimentally so. They learn tactics, and the same trick won't work on more than 1.))

The white man’s eyes met those of the nobility. His carelessness annoyed her, not that she would ever make that visible on her face. As he yawned at the woman’s performance she simply shot him a glare. He called her a devil. No-one had openly done that before… But then again it was just stating the facts. Rae looked at the remaining four pillars, seeing them turn into four large metal golems. She could sense that they were different from the previous ones.

Sighing, the Duchess calculated through her situation. She had two swords which were going to shatter in around eight hits. Four enemies made out of metal. She had no magic powers to use to her advantage. Was there really no trick to doing this properly? Leaving the blades on the ground, Rae ran towards the golem nearest to her. Immediately noticing her approach, the golem switched gears, taking out several guns and firing them at her. The devil descendant’s eyes widened slightly at the newly discovered power of her enemy and started running in a zigzag position in an attempt to dodge the shots. Just as she got near enough to attempt to hit the golem however it’s arm turned into an iron column, which smacked her, sending her flying. Spreading her wings up as breaks to the force that she was sent flying with she managed to land on her knees. So it used guns in long range and steel magic in close range? “Wonderful.” She muttered sarcastically under her breath. She should expect at least a couple of broken ribs at the end of this trial. Running at the same golem yet again she jumped up, dodging the gun shots that it sent her and punched it’s metallic surface around where she assumed was it’s face. Jumping back down the Duchess then ran towards the other golem, hoping that they would, like the previous ones, clash. It did not happen in such a way as the previous golem fired a shot directly at her as stood on top of the second one. Being knocked back again, Rae landed on her right side, feeling a sharp pain spread through her body. Getting back up she ran a hand through her long red hair, her red eyes started glowing a shade of demonic crimson as she glared at her opponents. “Very well then.” She muttered as she got into a simple battle stance that she had seen a couple of people do before. “Come at me tin can.” The Devil challenged as it’s tail moved besides it into an “S” position.

One of the golems shot fire at her, causing a puff of smoke to appear where it fired. The Duchess was hit however she paid no mind to it as she attempted to surprise the golem by jumping at it from the smoke and punching it in the face before landing back down on her feet and kicking it upwards with her heels. The golem landed on its back, causing a small smirk to appear on Rae’s usually blank face. Looking at her other three enemies she ran towards the one closest to her and jumped at it, only to barely dodge the arm of the metal elemental in the form of a sword. So they were smart enough to not allow her to repeat the same tactic then? Spreading her wings Rae placed her right hand on top of the elemental and kicked it with her left leg, as if it was a football ball. The golem moved back however the Duchess did not have time to think of her next move as she was hit in the back by a gunshot. Landing on her knees Rae glared at the third golem. “That’s playing it dirty.” She muttered blankly before quickly getting up and gliding across the white platform, kicking the golem’s legs from underneath it with her own, knocking the second one over. Turning back around the red-haired female came face to face with the fist of the fourth golem. A grunt escaped her lips as she attempted to get up. That had definitely if not bruised, broken a couple of bones. Her red hues scanned the field calculatingly as she reached her hand forward, grabbing one of the rustic swords. Running back at the fourth golem she swung at it, leaving a small scratch on top of it. Calmly, Rae switched the blade to her other hand as she landed, impaling it into the steel golem’s leg. Dodging a shot from the other remaining golem she ran for the second sword, which as she reached, she threw at the gun of the fourth golem, causing it to explode. Closing one eye she sighed, that sword was unusable for sure. Running up at the golem from the side of the smoke which had come from the explosion, she punched the golem several times, knocking it over. Panting, the Duchess’ glowing hues landed on the last remaining standing enemy on the field. Spreading her black wings, she flew towards it, dodging several shots before landing behind it and taking out the impaled sword. Jumping up she sliced at the golem twice more before the old sword shattered. Just as she threw away the hilt the devil ducked just in time to miss a huge fist hit the space which was supposed to be her head. Glaring at the golem, she uppercut it, causing it to topple onto its back. Falling into her knees, the Duchess wiped sweat off of her forehead and took in several deep breaths. Looking back up to where the white man was, she sent him a small confident smirk. “You entertained now?” She asked jokingly, closing one eye due to the pain that was running up her spine, the only thing keeping her conscious was her selfish pride.

he man gave a smirk, resting his head on one hand while tapping his cheek with a finger. Another yawn escaped his mouth "It was sub par... but I guess you've been hurt enough t-" his voice sounded bored and unimpressed right till he paused. "Actually..." he said with a large grin creeping its way across his face. The man stood up, needing no wings to keep himself afloat. "Before, I introduced myself as the Guardian... you see, that's not entirely true." he said as he began lowering himself to the floor, but still out of the devil's reach. "This man, the one you're looking at, is the Guardian of Souls. But I am not him... I am the trial warden for the spirits... the one who single handedly chooses which mortals I act through." he stated informatively. "Unfortunately he's able to resist my influence, and only lets me play with him when it's to test the power of mortals..." he said with a sad voice. He was walking in circles above the platform, twirling Rae's sword like a baton between his fingers. "Since I was permitted to use him... and you want power... and I'm still bored..." he said as an idea began forming. A large grin appeared again before the man turned and dropped to the ground. The impact was immense, the entire platform shook violently for a second as he did so. He slammed the scythe onto the ground with the crown mounted on the blade, and he sword leaning against it. Any attempt at getting the two back would cause a box of invisible energy to reject Rae.

    "Play with me."

The white man would then attack Rae. His power is easily much, much, much, MUCH higher than Rae and will simply take to nonchalantly dodging her attacks with a cocky smile. At one point in the fight, the white man would perform a flip over her and kiss her forehead just for kicks before landing behind Rae. Once that happens, the fight will be over and Rae would find herself standing in the field with her sword and crown where they belong.

The Duchess glared at the white man. So he was the Guardian of souls huh? He wasn’t very guardian like. She would’ve mocked him openly if she wasn’t so beat up. Calling her sub-par made her blood boil in anger.  How dare he talk to her in such a bored manner?  The sudden pause in his sentence however made the now slowly recovering Duchess raise an eyebrow. A grin was appearing on the man’s lips before he landed on the platform causing it to shake violently. He still had the devil’s weapons. That fact alone annoyed her to no end. The next words that left the Guardian’s lips however made a smirk appear on her lips. “Play with me.” Rae’s eyes yet again resumed their glow as she stood up. "Gladly." She replied as she ran a hand through her red hair. The challenge which the man thrown in her direction had given her a new thirst for competition winning, causing her wings and tail to appear again.

Rae attempted to punch the Guardian, which he easily dodged. The red-haired nobility wanted to wipe that cocky smirk off of his face. In another attempt she tried kicking him in the chin, which he, yet again, dodged with no problem. The female mage could only glare at the white man as he charged at her, easily sending her flying backwards with a simple punch which she blocked. He was strong, no doubt about that. Rae then jumped at him and tried to land a spinning kick on him, only to have him catch her leg and throw her away from him. Stopping herself from flying any further with her wings, the Duchess picked up the remaining hilt of the old sword, and attempted to throw it at the Guardian, only to have him catch it and throw it back at her. He then threw a kick at her completely calmly and sent her flying towards the opposite side of the platform.

Not wanting to be outdone by someone so frustrating Rae again attempted to throw a kick at the man, which was blocked for a second time.  Rae tried to land a punch on the Guardian again but this time as he dodged it effortlessly he moved close to her and kissed her forehead. Moving back the Duchess was able to see another cocky smirk appear on the man’s lips before he flipped over, landing somewhere behind her. Spinning around in an attempt to land a kick, Rae found herself back on the lush plain. The Guardian was no-where to be seen.  She could feel the weight of Ghelgath and the Lord of Frost’s presence back on her. The Demon in her sword let out several waves of cold air causing the Duchess to snap back at it. “Not funny.” She told it. What a weird day she was having.

    T
he kiss on her forehead was more than the white man merely toying with the duchess, it was also him infusing a small fraction of the power the spirit held into her. The action would enable her to use greater levels of magic, as well as it had increased her physical strength. The white man gone, and the trial done with Niyol, who was still possessed had turned around and flown off. Though from the ground, it simply looked like a bird flying away. Upon Niyol reaching a nearby village, the spirit would abandon his body, leaving the mage with no memories of the encounter. Whether or not a lasting impression of the shirtless mage was left on Duchess Rae Havoc, only time, and the chains of fate will tell...
