Catch that Kitty

Mari entered the main gate of Peace Village. She had just been approved to go on a new job. It was to help an innocent cat get out of a tree for the owner. Mari took up the job mostly for her fondness for animals and soft object's and things. So she was very excited to be going on this job. But this is her first time in this village and she is already having trouble finding the owner's that asked for help or the noise of a cat. She asked around the village, if they new anything of the situation and was told that the cat was stuck in a tree near the center of the village.

Finally reaching the middle of the village, she noticed a small group of people looking up at a large tree. Mari walked into the group looking up into the tree to see the small cat cowering and meowing. "Oh please save my cat." An old lady cried, with her hands out in the air. "So this is your cat?" Mari asked. The old lady nodded "Yes, you must be the member of Fairy Tail that has agreed to help my poor cat." Mari also nodded and started to walk toward the body of the tree. "Please be careful." The lady said. Mari lifted her hand and gave her the thumbs up, to let her know everything would be alright.

Against the tree, Mari tries to climb using her bare hands. Trying to hug the tree, Mari dug her finger's into the bark, trying to get a grip to it. Once she felt comfortable, she tried climbing up, using her feet as lifts. It was a good start though, the bark pressed against her chest, was hard and scratched a bit, but that didn't stop her. Half way up, she can hear the small noise of a kitten's meow, over the sounds of the people below. Finally at the first branch, Mari jumped towards it, grabbing it with both hands, pulling herself over and sitting on top of it, catching her breath.

Mari, stood on top of the branch, keeping her balance and managing her weight so it wouldn't break or have her falling off. Looking up she noticed there was a little more of a climb then she thought. But being able to see the cat, meant that it was in reach and wasn't going to stop until the job was done. After catching her breath she, she jumped toward the tree, pushing her foot off the bark and at one of the other branches. Grabbing it with both hands, she used her hips as weight, to flip her over and onto the branch, using the same method she climbed two other branches, and finally reached the branch, where the cat was hugging the branch for it dear life.

The cat noticed Mari, jumping onto the branch and hugged the branch tighter. "Calm down, little guy. I won't hurt you." Mari said softly and calmly. The cat's ear's went down and slowly released the branch. Mari's face perked up as she noticed the cat trusting her, and started to slowly crawl toward the cat. Having her hand out the cat placed a paw into it. The branch made a large crack, and both Mari's and the cat's eye's widened. Mari tugged on the cat's paw, pulling the cat into Mari's chest and holding him with her left arm, fast enough before the branch broke, with them falling behind it. Mari used her open hand against the tree, trying to slow down their speed, then used both her feet as well. Mari can hear the people below in aww. Mari crashed into a branch below, making her release the bark from her hand.

Crashing into another branch, Mari held the cat tighter with both arms, before striking the ground. The people on the ground, surrounded Mari trying to help her up. They got her to sit up straight with the cat in her arm's. The old lady walks up toward Mari. "Are you okay?" She asked cautiously. Lifting the cat toward the old lady, "He is safe and sound." She said calmly, lifting herself up. The old lady yelped for joy, pressing her face against the cat, squeezing it tightly. Everyone laughed, with the old lady rubbing the Mari's head as a thank you, she could only smile. Mari dusted herself, and walked toward the exit, waving back at the people near the tree and headed back toward the guild.
