Purpose {Private|Ardere}

Of all the mundane things to do that day, Lynn had wandered off to one of the villages…Mountain Village was it? A few weeks ago, the crimson-haired mage heard there was a new guild in Fiore that went by the name 'Infinity Hydra'. After what had happened months ago, Lynn felt like she needed a change, a total transformation. Her appearance is no longer the same, her sanity mollified and the will to serve another human (her guildmaster, that is) enervated.

Lynn fixed her eyes on a hawk slicing the pristine sky then averted her focus towards the location she guessed it might be headed towards - a temple-like structure on the mountains. Emerald optics narrowed, the sorceress snapped her fingers, a signal for Zlatan to return from wherever he had wandered off to. Although she hadn’t divulged the fact that she was still alive to her guildmates, she knew someone she wanted to let it be known to. Mounting the winged beast that arrived at her side, Lynn commanded him to fly towards aforementioned structure.

Upon reaching the entrance of the structure, Lynn descended from the back of her pet beast, jade orbs focused on the doors. A shirtless man stood outside, arms folded across his broad chest and a cigarette between his lips. The Saber approached him without much hesitation, immediately questioning him as he averted his gaze to her. "Where is Ardere?" she demanded, causing the person to frown in confusion. Lynn noticed a sanguine circular tattoo on the man's forearm. The guild crest?

"I am here to see Ardere. Do you know of his whereabouts?" she inquired further. The man removed the cancer stick from his mouth and told her who Ardere was and what this place was. "Yes, yes, I know. That is why I am here. I know he's here so just take me to him," she spoke, waving a hand in his face to inform him of her lack of patience. With a shrug, the man dropped his cigarette, stepping on it to kill the fire before leading the way into the building, to where Ardere might be if the man was following her order. Lynn ambled in after giving Zlatan a look to say 'wait here', observing everything she saw on the way.

Smacking the wrench he was wielding against the engine of his ship, it made several clunking noises before starting. Wiping some sweat from his brow, Ardere peered up at one of the massive twin engines on the Black Sun. His ship rarely had mechanical problems, but he hadn't been flying it as much lately. Most of his targets had been close by, but he had an upcoming mission halfway across the country, and he was not walking that distance or making Celica fly it. His glorious ship with it's golden and black wood would make the trip just fine, even if she was feeling a bit rusty. That's it, good stuff. Turning the engine off, he wiped up his face and washed his arms a bit. Sitting there working on a ship for the past hour, he hag accumulated quite the amount of seat a dirt. Fortunately he was the kind of man to take care of himself, and did not feel the need to just brush off the fact that he could smell horrid. After he cleaned up a bit, the guild master found himself observing the hull. The structural integrity was not compromised nor battered, the ship had been patched up sufficiently since his run in with those air pirates.

Turning to the doorway, his nose had caught wind of a familiar scent. It had changed slightly, but he was quite familiar with it's owner. Setting down a rag, he closed the latches on the ship. Being on the landing pad attached to the guild hall, he was fairly close to the tavern. After a few moments, one of his members would notify him that someone was here to see him. Well bring em in. Wiping off his hands, he smiled slightly at the newcomer. Well, hello Tane. She looked a bit different, with her hair being red unlike the last time the two had met. Long time no see, I see you changed your hair. You still in Sabertooth eh? It had been months since Ardere was a Sabertooth member, and even though his guild was still new he felt like it had been even longer. The Ouroboros Alliance was still highly in effect, and both guilds being Sabertooth and Infinity Hydra had maintained a close relationship. Unfortunately, it had been quite some time since he last had the pleasure of seeing an old friend.

Lynn impatiently stared at the half-naked man's back whilst following him to an office, she presumed. He informed Ardere of a visitor's (Lynn) arrival. A familiar voice casually ordered him to 'bring em in'. The Sabertooth mage strode in, almost getting stuck in the small gap her smoker friend allowed her to enter through. She gave Ardere a full-toothed grin, as soon as she saw him. He appeared pretty much the same, almost identical to what he looked like the last time they met. Laughing (a bit) coldly at how he addressed her, Lynn situated herself on the closest chair she could find to prevent herself from shaking.

"Please just call me Lynn. Tane doesn't exist anymore," she told him, her tone would let him know she didn't want to explain the whole story behind her statement. "And yeah, I'm still a Saber. The color of my hair did changed. Do you see these too?" she asked, turning a bit to display what looked like a tattoo on the left side of her stomach. "I got myself some battle scars." Laughing. Ardere must be thinking his ex-guildmate had gone insane. Her voice and manner of speech weren't the same anymore as well, if he noticed. Pretty much her entire being went through a transformation process after what happened in the final battle with her mentor. But she didn't like to think about that. Noticing the structure behind the fire-wielding wizard, Lynn cocked an eyebrow. A ship? He was fixing a ship in the Infinity Hydra guild?

"So...are you like the mechanic here? You fix things like the members' ships and stuff?" Lynn asked in a very curious tone, pretending as though she wasn't aware of his position in the guild at all. She lifted herself off the chair, shuffling over to the ship that Ardere seem to be repairing. "Nice ship," she commented, eyes carefully examining it while she bent down to see its lower parts. She wasn't an expert with ships or any kind of vehicle. Curious was all she was, about almost everything.

Nodding, he gave her a casual salute. Of course, Lynn. Great to see you. Arching a brow at her tattoo, he chuckled a bit. She was a bit more goofy than the last time the two had met, but he supposed she needed to lighten up a bit. It was truly nice to talk with an old friend he used to slay zombies with. That's good. Very nice. I still have these. The red flames would reappear on his face and neck in the form of tattoos, then would disappear after a few moments. They only appeared in battle, but he could will them to come forth sometimes. Tossing the rag he was cleaning his hands off with, Ardere would slide on his red leather jacket. Zipping it up most of the way, he tightened the red headband through his thick brown locks. Chuckling a bit at her comment, the guild master would crack his knuckles. I wish. You know well that I'm the guild master here. Sabertooth and Infinity Hydra are allies after all. Holding up a finger, a smirk crossed his pale lips. The Ouroboros Alliance was as new as the guild, but it was a strong one. Lynn had probably been out of the loop for a while, but it was alright. He was just glad to see her.

Thanks, it's the Black Sun. Running his fingertips across the dark wood, a sigh escaped his lips. Sliding his hands back into his pocket, he turned to face his old friend. So, what brings you to this neck of the woods? Just here to see me? With curious orange eyes, he shifted his weight to the side. Standing leisurely, he looked towards the door. I could always give you a tour of the place. Infinity Hydra was not as large as Sabertooth, which was perhaps the largest legal guild, but it was certainly a castle in the mountains. Literally built on top of and into the side of the mountains, it overlooked the Mountain village and the vast forests below. A very strong tactical advantage was held here, and the architecture was great to boot.

"Nice," Lynn commented on the flames that appeared on Ardere's face and neck. She thought she remembered him use those during their job together. The redheaded Saber watched her ex-guildmate finish up with his ship and zip up his red jacket, tightening the headband around his cranium. His outfit was very similar to the one she remembered, or maybe the exact same one. "Of course, GM. I was only joking," Lynn smirked, referring to her joke about his position in the guild. "I heard about the Ouroboros Alliance. I've been away too long," she told him, folding her arms tight across her chest. Lynn had actually been out of touch with all this for quite a long time. Once she came back, she was greeted with all this new information. The previous guildmaster, Raven, had retired and a new one, a previous Ace of the guild had taken her place. A new guild was formed and with the guildmaster being Ardere, her former guildmate. Specifically the one she killed zombies with.

Lynn almost laughed out loud at the sound of Ardere's ship name. "Can you not name everything you own something related to fire?" she chuckled, letting her hands fall to her sides. Ardere asked her why she was here, which she answered by saying, "I actually came to see this newly formed guild 'Infinity Hydra'. Since the guildmaster here so happened to be you, I guess you could show me around." The summoner gave him a genuine smile, gesturing for him to lead the way. Ever since the moment he joined Sabertooth from being a Rune Knight, Lynn had noticed how hardworking Ardere was, how he tried so hard to get stronger. He must have set a goal for himself already at that time, being the guildmaster of his own guild. But Lynn felt that he wasn't done. He was always getting better, reaching higher. She respected him for that, although she'd never admit this to his face.

A smirk crossing his pale lips, Ardere led her out of the room. Technically the sun is a giant ball of gas, not fire. With his smart ass response, the fire mage would stand side by side with her. But no, no I can't. Everything is fire, because I am fire. She may have not known, but that statement was quite literal. He was an embodiment of flame, being made of it. While he could control the form unlike most elementals, he was still a being of element. Regardless, her comment was not out of line in any sense. Leading her across the hall, it was lined with tapestries, armors, and weapons from Midi. It was quite obvious the theme of this guild hall, and very apparent that he had either spent a lot of time looking for these items or a lot of money procuring them. Only he knew which was which.

Boots tapping against the hardwood floor, they would pass two rooms. The Library and the Dojo are up here, probably the two most used rooms. As you can imagine. Allowing her free roam to look around and make her own judgments of the guild hall, he ran pale fingers through his thick brown locks. Infinity Hydra is my end game. The last place I want to be, or at least until I die. It took a while to find it, but I did. Now I'm kind of done moving around, in terms of living anyways. He had also been a Ronin, and a wanderer. It had taken him years to find his place, but the Fire King had created it. A wondrous place for both him and his guild members, hopefully it was enough. He had been in Sabertooth for a while, and as far as he was concerned that was his second home. Walking his own path was dangerous, but living in fear would be no way to live at all.

Lynn smirked, rolling her luminous emerald optics as she waved a dismissive hand while Ardere explained that the sun was actually a ‘giant ball of gas’, not fire. “Alright, alright. You know better,” she chortled. “Fire King, right?” Folding her slender arms under her breasts as Ardere began to lead her out of his office, and into the corridor outside. The halls were adorned with various types of guild decorations. They made it look less empty. Footfalls from the two ex-guildmates sounded throughout the corridor as they moved on further towards the following compartments: the Library and the Dojo, as Ardere stated. “Very nice,” Lynn complimented with a nod after peering into both rooms, lacing her fingers behind her back. “We have a big ass library in the Sabertooth guild, too, now. Hika expanded the guild a bit.” A bit, was not the right way to describe the expansions that took place recently at the guild. Sabertooth was literally a town of its own now.

If Lynn was still the girl she was a few months ago, she would be looking everywhere, taking note of how things were placed and what was placed where, probably trying to memorizing the whole guild at this point. But the person she was now, having already memorized what was placed where with a single look (thanks to her photographic memory), wanted to talk more than observe while Ardere still had time. He was an guildmaster now. Usually, it was pretty rare for guild members to even sight their guildmaster in their guildhall, so she felt lucky to even be having Ardere take her around his guild.

Unexpectedly, Ardere began talking about this guild being his end game, how he would be there until he died. “Wow so you’ve decided to settle down. That’s good for you. I’m still going. I mean, I won’t be finding my own guild, I don’t ever see myself becoming a guildmaster,” Lynn spoke thoughtfully, gazing at nothing in particular and ending with a laugh, peering up into Ardere's eyes with a smile, not knowing what else to say.

The library is pretty big, but the training room sees a lot more use. We had to put friggin magic resistant metal to make sure they didn't wreck the rest of the guild hall. Chuckling slightly, he enjoyed his guild members but they tended to get a bit rowdy. His cloak shifting back and forth with each step, Ardere lead the young lady down a wooden set of stairs. They were in the massive hall of the guild, accompanied by the tavern and the booths for the guild master's members to sit and eat, even socialize. This is usually where the events and such take place. It can get interesting down here. Looking up at the patch in the roof, it was quite evident that there had been a massive hole in it. Rubbing the back of his neck, a smirk crossed his lips. It was a bit embarrassing, but embarrassment was something he had learned to conquer. There was no shame in fighting, and his guild certainly got into a number of scuffles and skirmishes. They generally did not occur here at the hall, but the last one had been a first. Hopefully it did not give the wrong impression.

Sliding his pale muscular hands behind the head upon his shoulders, Ardere let a heavy breath escape. Fortunately, today was not one of action and suspense. It had been a long time since he could just relax. Perhaps things in the guild had finally calmed down for the first time since the battle in the hall, or even the first time since it's conception. And now, he showed an old friend around the place. Walking slowly through the hall with her, some members would pass, but the scenery of Midi throughout the guild overcame that. Being a guild master is both the best and hardest thing one could be. I am responsible for this guild, I carry it on my back. I don't do it for a reward, just for a home. And in the hopes that some day when I cannot bare the weight upon my shoulders, that they will carry me. This was the true resolve of a guild master, or at least the kind that the Fire King aspired to be. He was a more hands on, and a direct leader than others. He did not sit in a tent and command his troops, he stood on the front lines to command them. The fire mage hoped this point came across well to his old friend, with sincerity in his words.

As Ardere continued to show her around the guild, Lynn would comment on the rooms and even point out the similarities with the Sabertooth guildhall that she could find, also pretending not to see the hole in the roof and instead smiling to herself. "A wild bunch you have here," she said.

The words that Ardere said next about being a guildmaster were received slowly. A home...weight on his shoulders...carry him. He truly was worthy of such a position. Ardere wasn't some power hungry asshole on a high horse. He was still the same. "I'm proud of you Ardere," Lynn said, a bit softly as she was still deep in thought. "You deserve to be where you are right now." She couldn't think of anything else to say, so she just stood there, gazing at the sight before her, the guild members of Infinity Hydra. It felt like it was time to make her leave now. She had the chance to meet and talk to Ardere and was given a tour around the guild. Eyes raising to meet Ardere's, she said:

"Thank you for taking the time to talk to me and how me around. I guess I'll take my leave now as you might be busy with GM work, haha, but I'm sure we'll meet again, Ardere," she gave his arm a friendly pat. "Good luck with your future endeavors and take good care of yourself, too." But before she turned away from him, she couldn't control herself from doing what she did next. Lynn literally threw herself at Ardere, squeezing him in a lethal hug, hitting his back rather roughly - a sign of affection, actually. "BYE, ARDERE. DON'T MISS ME. WE'LL MEET AGAIN," she yelled, before releasing him and turning around to leave.

Nodding, Ardere would match her gaze. Thanks. It appeared their visit was coming to a close, he had enjoyed talking to an old friend but everyone had their own business to attend to. It was nice talking to you Lynn, take care of yourself ya hear? Returning her hug just as tight, he waved as the young mage took off. She was a lovely friend, but he was sure she would find her place in Sabertooth. The two guilds were allies after all, and both of their influxes of new members could prove useful in the coming months. Things had been too quiet for far too long. It had been months since the Priory and not a single large scale evil event had occurred, in fact things had calmed down even on a smaller scale. It was just like when the tides recede before a massive Tsunami. If his instincts had taught him anything, it was to always be ready for a tsunami. The world could be a dark place, and he had built walls to protect those he loved, but would they withstand the oncoming storm? Whatever it was, he had to enjoy himself before it came. Taking a deep breath, a smirk crossed his lips as he felt the presence of his old friend fade into the distance. There was only one thing left to do, and that was to return to working on that lovely ship of his. He could have paid mechanics to work on it, but that was not the kind of person he was. He was the kind to fix his own problems when possible.
