words: ###. tag: @Marshy notes: panther hanyō, Black Rose mage.
Marschal stared down at his hands, wiggling his fingers together and clicking his fingernails against each other. The half-breed looked up from his hands and stared ahead moments after, wondering exactly why he had come this far. Perhaps, it was his reason for wanting to know the exact reason why Lexa decided to leave the guild and her position. Or maybe it was his curse of wanting to know everything there possibly was to know about a situation, like this one. Whatever his reason may be, the Black Rose mage didn't think once to turn back from where he was now. That urge to know the truth was still hidden within him, pressuring him forward to find the inhuman woman. Inhuman, at this point, may not have been the correct term to use for Lexa, but that's what she had described herself as.

He turned his head slightly to look back at Izayuki and Elyx, the two who had decided to come along for unknown reasons. Marschy didn't much care to know their reasoning, though it was knowledge he could have used for this. "I have no idea what I'm doing," he finally stated, eyes wide and ever staring at his half-sister and his Ace. "Perhaps, I was stupid enough to take on this task in thinking that Lexa's real reasoning for doing the things she does isn't for her ownself. But perhaps there's another reason behind all of this; I'm just really curious to know as to why she had gotten this bounty placed upon her head and why she wants to find that scientist so badly." The mage snorted at his words and looked back to the front of him, ceasing his walking into the unknown Serene Cliff. "I don't even know where she could be at this point. I doubt that I would be able to find her to even learn what I want to know."

Now, he was rambling to himself, questioning his own motivates as to why he was doing this stupid thing in the first place.

Izayuki Hyoujin ♦ Black Rose ♦ B Rank

Izayuki barely knew any of the details. Why should she? She really could care less, plus never remembered them too deeply anyway. The situation was most interesting on the topic of Lexa. The girl, a Black Rose bounty hunter, had managed to get a bounty placed on her own head? How ironic. The tanuki girl personally had thought it would be nice to get out again, even if this was technically not a job. She hated being cooped up in either the guildhall or Elyx's mansion for too long, and upon hearing what had conspired, naturally, she had thrown herself into the mess and picture. However, she was not alone. Elyx was fun to drag around with her, so he also managed to be taken along.

"Heh, that's the longest I think I've ever heard ya talk, Marschy~" Izayuki commented, using the cute little nickname for him and walking closing. Her pink eyes narrowed at the corner every few moments to ensure that Elyx was still with them, but as she did so, she moved a bit closer towards her half-brother. She had noticed the slightest of tension between the panther yokai and the guild ace, but hopefully nothing too serious had transpired between the two of them.

wo weeks had passed since Lexa had left her luxurious life in Black Rose. The only remnant of her existence that she left was her file in Omen that had her name and former position as an ace, and a letter tacked to the job notice board with a knife. Lexa had covered almost all bases, burning her belongings that she didn't want, deleting information from the guild masters' terminal, and even burning her finger prints and Lillian's too. The only thing she couldn't do as cut loose ends, since that would include killing off quite a few members of Black Rose. While Lexa normally didn't care about slitting people's throats in their sleep, she had many issues with hurting her family. A thunderstorm brewed overhead as Lexa sat on the remnants of a once strong, tall tree that now resided on the floor. Lillian had started a warm fire for them using her own magic and some wood. It was wet wood at first, but Lillian's fire magic was hot enough to dry it quickly.

    "Shit.."

Lexa stated as the sound of footsteps came from the distance. Her ears were considerably stronger than the average human, stronger than most predators in the animal kingdom even. Lillian looked at Lexa inquisitively. "One... two... maybe three." Lexa said out loud as she focused in on it. "Atty, grab 'Lil and get'r outta here. I don't need her becoming a hostage, wait ten minutes before coming back." she ordered. The small white, nine tailed fox with blue flames at the tip of each tail walked over to Lillian and rested a paw on her. The two burst into a small flame, reappearing wherever was safest at the moment.

A path lay some ways away leading into some local brush near the cliffs. Lexa got up, holding two blades as she moved to the path. Her ears picked up no movement other than those two or three coming. She slammed the two swords in the ground, standing tall with a firm look in her eyes. Her arms were crossed under her chest as she waited in the middle of the path for her trackers.

Lexa was a good girl, damn it. This sucks, I'm just making sure both of you come out alive. He would explain, mainly to Iza since that was the one he really cared for the most as of the current moment. Her half-brother was not really a concern of his in any other way, in fact, it was only because he was in the guild that the swordsman would even consider this a responsibility. If not, there would have been no way that he would have gone with them on this suicide venture. Lexa was a former Ace of the guild, he knew what was to come in the end, which is why he carried his weapon with him. People learn via experiences, that was how the boy learned at least. Besides, he had nothing against her, he even found her to be very entertaining. I hope Toka would not be too mad if I brought her out right now... He would say to himself. Toka was the meanest one of his Celestial Spirits, it was just in her nature. A Tsun one may call her, though he believed she could be a Tsundere if she really tried. The thing was, was she even willing to try? And besides, she would be the one to make the sarcastic remarks for him if it were needed. That would be a waste in magic power, and he full-well knew that. So the idea would be erased from his mind as he would continue to endure the walk. There was going to be bloodshed, pain, and all of it unnecessary. Where has he heard of this before?

words: ###. tag: @Marshy notes: panther hanyō, Black Rose mage.
The panther hanyō paused in his tracks, stretching out an arm to stop Elyx and Izayuki from walking any farther. His nose was upturned to the wind, breathing in the scent that was carried along it from the direction they were heading. It was a very familiar scent to him, undeniably one that he had smell before though couldn't pinpoint whose it was. Lexa was really the only answer, but it could have been another Black Rose mage on a mission for all he knew. Marschal breathed in the scent for a second time, his lips parting slightly as if that would help him smell it better.

"She's close by," the mage declared, dropping his arm back to his side and picking up the pace of his walking. Eventually, the walking had become a trot, then slowed back down to a more natural walking, as if he was hesitating getting closer.

"Lexa?!" Marschal shouted out, calling to the former guild Ace, expecting that she would return the call to her. He pushed his pace faster again, muscle stressed against the incline of the cliff as he neared the tree Lexa was in. "Lexa. . . I know you're around here; there's no point in hiding from your former guild mates! You know full well that we aren't here to hurt you. That's the last thing on our minds, so come out!""

Izayuki Hyoujin ♦ Black Rose ♦ B Rank

"Sheesh, suddenly so worried about us, hm?" Izayuki asked, gazing over at Elyx with a teasing grin on her expression. He certainly had a flippant attitude at times, thus, it was hard to tell as to if he was serious about it. Was he really the concerned guild ace as he tried portray, or did he have a good touch of arrogance to his character? Either way, he was fun to be around, so she was happy to drag him along with her wherever.

As Marschal halted and extended his hand in a signal, the girl stopped in her tracks. There in front of them, standing tall, arms crossed, swords sticking up out of the ground, was Lexa Grimoire. She was not hiding- she planned to face them head-on. However, Izayuki planned to go about it all as non-threateningly as possible. Lexa obviously had been fairly worried to a degree, or so it sounded from her letter, burning all her information and files, and so on. That optimistic, perky, wide smile that was no doubt a familiar trademark of hers, coming to life, the youthful mage waved and let out a chipper greeting. "Hiya Lexa~!"

    A
thunder storm began brewing out of nowhere above Lexa's position, blotting out the sun and casting a massive shadow over the land as  Lexa heard them getting closer. She stood, waiting for the group to reveal itself. Lexa heard a man calling her by name, identifying them as her guildmates... though she didn't recognize the voice. Soon, the group came out in the open and stopped, one of them had a bright smile and waved, acting as Lexa and her were good friends. A blast of lightning shot down from the thunderstorm above, slamming into the ground and moving across slowly. Once the phenomenon had gone, it revealed a line was drawn in the dirt that was glowing red from the intense heat Lightning normally generated. Lexa unfolded her arms and grabbed the swords. A crimson wakizashi held in a backwards grip, and then a black wakizahsi that she spun. The black one changed from a sword to a lever action rifle the was pointed directly at Izayuki. Lexa's eyes were cold, angry, and firm... the exact inverse of the last time any of the three had seen her. If they remembered Lexa from the cafe job, her normal look was nothing but pure joy, love, and friendship. Her current demeanor suggested she considered them enemies, and no longer called them family. When she finally spoke, the voice wasn't playful and childish... it was older, and very serious. "I don't know how you know me, and if you truly are from Black Rose I don't want to kill you.  But if any of you take another step, I won't hold back!" she shouted across the thirty meter expanse with a steaming scorch mark closer to the three.

Lexa was known for many things in the guild. Being too friendly, too happy, to smart, too nosy, too loud, and extremely annoying were among them. Of all things she was known for, being a liar, and being merciful were not on the list. Several arcs of black and blue sparks of electricity began running down her arms, legs, and torso as her magic circuits began glowing bright gold. Elyx, the one who'd proctored her exams would know for a fact that Lexa wasn't a lightning mage, which meant he no longer had the advantage of knowing her magic. A blast of lightning came down, engulfing Lexa completely but no sounds of pain came out. When the lightning vanished, Lexa was seen wearing a set of ancient oriental assailant's armour. This suit, for those in Omen at lease, was infamous as Lexa's number one belonging. The group had books upon books of material on its origins up until Lexa took and burned them all. 'Stargazer Armour' was its name, a suit that got even stronger when Lexa had allies near her. It was famed for its ability to call meteor storms too... but most of all, it was known as Lexa's one and only set of battle armour. Her putting it on was a sign that she had personally signed a persons' death warrant.

Arms crossed, he would tilt his head to the side as the little transformation trick had been shown. An interesting choice of clothing, it probably had an effect to come along with it. The boy just decided to be blunt on things. Nice to see you too again Lexa. I'm sure you remember me. Don't worry about me though, I am not looking for a fight. I was dragged along to make sure these two don't bite the dust. He would explain before moving his left hand up, hand balled into a fist with the thumb sticking out, pointing to the other two. His blade remained sheathe, so he was showing her that he did not want trouble with her. Sure, they did not have the most favorable relationship, but he did not care to make an enemy out of her, nor did he believe she wanted to make an enemy out of him. Just as long as you do not try to kill any of us and just listen to whatever they have to say, we do not have to provoke a battle. The boy would explain before placing his palms into the air to show no tricks could be done without her noticing. Provided he moved his arms differently, he would pretty much be giving her permission to attack him. May I move forward without the fear of being attacked while in this permission? Again, I am not looking for trouble. I am merely an escort.

As Lexa's demeanor changed and the transformation took over, the gun pointed toward his half-sister, Marschal hooked his fingers onto his own weapons. The mage stepped in front of Izayuki, so as to block any chance of the bullet hitting the god slayer on the first try. "Stand down, Lexa," Marschal ordered, knuckles white against the handles of his Hellhound Collars at his hips. A fight was the last thing the mage wanted, but seeing as she had drawn her weapons already, he was prepared to die for them both. Marschy knew Lexa was stronger than him, but that, in no way, would prevent him from protecting Izayuki or Elyx. Well, Elyx could handle himself, he was certain, but the man was still a guildmate, so he would still sacrifice his life.

"I was just curious to know why you up and decided to leave the guild like you did, and how the hell you managed to get 2,500,000 jewel bounty over your head," Marschal stated. He would take a step toward the short woman, still keeping in front of his half-sister, to keep her out of the line of fire. "A simple not of pathetic words and sadness doesn't answer my question as why you decided to up and leave your family. Do you know how many you could have hurt with that choice of yours? Who cares about the damned scientist? You had your own family."

Izayuki Hyoujin ♦ Black Rose ♦ B Rank

Lexa's first words seemed to convey confusion. She did not know how they knew her? What had happened? Did she really not remember them, or was she simply unsure? She listened to Elyx trying to smooth it over at first with Lexa, yet after he finished his first statement, she muttered a small "you're not our babysitter" under her breath with a huff as he continue. The guild ace asked to approach and was, as expected, trying to handle the situation peacefully. Once he had finished, Marschal told the blonde to stand down, and continued on to question her. So placid, yet so desperate, uncertain, firm, and bold, were the lot of them. Pulling her hand back down from that wave position, Izayuki placed both hands on her hips while her unbeknownst half-brother made his way to block her from the line of fire. "Oi!" she said as he did so, believing in her own capabilities to hold off any attack from a former guildmember, even if they were an ace and possibly slightly stronger. Her confidence knew no bounds. "C'mon, Lexa, don't ya remember us?"
Marschal was right. They were her family; they were concerned for her, and had a right to be.

nother blast of blue lightning crashed from the sky, abusing the ground and sending debris flying upwards. The red hot ground this time was directly in front Elyx and Marschal, as they were the ones who decided to move. The shape would imply Lexa missed them on purpose, but let the attack be close enough to pose a threat. "I don't know why the council's after me! I don't know who any of you are! I don't know what I am! I don't know anything! I left so I can get answers! I don't care how many people I hurt, and if you all don't turn around and leave I'll make sure you never come back for me!" Lexa shouted as her thunderstorm got worse. The sound of energy moving through the clouds, a firm wind building up, and blue sparks moving about Lexa's body all created a symphony of warnings. A pair of golden fox ears and a tail sprouted from Lexa, her armour creating appropriate holes in itself to allow the extensions to show. This would let those who were familiar with the aces of Black Rose know that Lexa was getting ready to go all out, and demonstrate that she had more power than what she let off. While her magical presence was strong, about as strong as the average mage; Lexa was a natural energy reservoir that could easily get stronger for a moment or two. This was always made known when it was ready to happen by the animalistic features she'd gain after becoming an ace materialized.
