He snorted at the job request of finding a puppy; of course it was typical of a puppy to get itself lost from its owners. In fact, that was so stereotypical nowadays, he bet that all puppies decided to get lost from their owners because of that stereotype. Marschal ripped the piece of paper off the job board and waved the paper around because he was not doing this mission alone. Actually, Marschy wasn't even allowed to do this mission alone, since it was a higher rank than what he currently was. So, he was forced to take someone along, though he would have much rather go on his own to do something like this. However, he quickly crumpled the piece of paper in his hand and stuffed it into his pocket, figuring no one would do it with him. Why would they go on a mission with someone who was weaker than them? Hell, he could just barely control his own magic.

"Anyone want to find a lost puppy with me? Sounds fairly easy," the mage called out solemnly. How hilarious to think bringing attention to himself would change anyone's mind in wanting to do this dumb job. The dog could perish for all he cared; besides, he ate puppies for dinner anyway, they were his worse enemies. Marschal cleared his throat and sat down on a bench to await whoever decided they would pity his sorry, weak ass. He ran a hair through his long, black hair and kicked back, elbows resting behind him on the table while he waited.

Kakuma was on the upper floor looking down at everyone, he saw the man whom had been rude to her a bit ago. He pulled a job notice off the board and then called out to the others, everyone ingored him, clearly his actions against her had gotten out. Kakuma sighed and leaped over the balcony, landing softly on the floor below. She walked up to the man, "well now..." Kakuma looked around the room, "Seems like you have nobody to go with." Kakuma smiled at the man, a snide smile, one that said *Ha serves you right*. Kakuma was a bit happy and a bit disappointed at the fact this was happening, she was happy because they cared enough about her to hold against them, she was disappointed cause they would do it despite what Black Rose Stood for. Kakuma cursed herself and held out her hand. "I suppose i will go with you, Can i see the job details?" Kakuma was hoping for something combat based, she wanted to see if the man. If the man didn't hand over the detail Kakuma would snatch them from him, so one way or another he got them from him. She really had to work to not burst into laughter, finding a lost puppy, she figured he would go find a job where he could strut his proverbial stuff. But nope he was the puppy finder, Kakuma looked at the man and smiled. "So first off... what is your name? Secondly, are you gonna be a pain in the butt the entire way?" Kakuma raised a eyebrow as she spoke.

The sarcastic nature of her words threw Marschal off, and he snorted in response, standing to his feet to be taller than her. He stuffed his hand into his pocket and gave her the job notice, since he doubted she wanted to stick her hand in his pants.

"Oh, so you were the one spreading lies about me, warning the others?" he answered her, stuffing his hands back into his pockets. Never once had it crossed his mind that he had not told Kakuma what his name was, yet he knew her name by others. "Marschal Leigh," he added after a moment of silence with his thoughts, then continued, "Leigh is not my last name nor my middle. And that depends on how much you life me; I can be an ass or not one at all. It all depends on the person. . . so, with that being said. . ." He eyed the paper he had given her, though kept his mouth shut from saying anything that may have remotely sounded sarcastic to Kakuma.

There was doubt in his eyes that she would really want to go on this mission with him, especially with how he had been treating her. How horrible was it that he had been speaking to the guild master rather harshly? How many people actually did that? "Lady Blackflower. . . I do apologize for my recent behavior," he began after recognizing his wrong doings toward the woman. "It's not often I come across people who want to help me, not with the way I've been treated in the past. I guess I let that feeling take over, so I do apologize for any wrong doings I've placed upon you in the previous times we've met."

Kakuma scoffed at the mans claim that she was spreading lies, "LIES!?! your treatment of me got out, you think that the walls are deaf? No... they all have ears." Kakuma was not in the mood to deal with this fools rudeness, but she had said she would help, so she bit her tongue. She heard the man  give his name but didn't care enough to note it in her mind... She started to turn away, just as the man started to apologize to her. Kakuma stopped and turned around to face the man, she cocked her head sideways as he explained why he acted so. Kakuma wanted to chew him out for it, she felt it was simply a excuses. Kakuma narrowed her eyes at the man.

"I am not a pure blood, and in my village blood is everything. I was also the runt amongst my family, but all my siblings were killed because of me, and many tried to end my own life. You may have been had it hard in your village but did you get your family killed? Did you have a entire village drive you from your home simply cause your pelt was a different color, because you sire was not one of the pack? because your sire... was a a goddess?!?" Kakuma was trying to not to cry, her bit back tears and tried to prevent her voice from wavering. "But i don't take it out on others... you should learn to keep the past in the past... otherwise you simply reproduce the situation."

His odd eyes wavered over the guild master, his mouth being kept shut, so as not to insult the woman any farther than he had. Always, he managed to mess up somehow, and he supposed that was the very reason why he had chosen to keep quiet. It was his own mistake in speaking; he should have only spoken had Kakuma said something to him from the start. He should have kept his mouth shut, like the good little boy his mother had raised him to be; mistakes were often made because of him voicing his opinion. Marschal let his gaze fall to the ground and stare at the wooden flooring of the guild hall, thinking over his actions. The mistake was that he had spoken and something he should not have, and now Kakuma despised his guts enough to be yelling at him. Perhaps he should let her be, just go on the mission on his own, in spite of only being a D rank mage right now.

"I don't know who my father is, I only know that my mother was a foolish human to fall in love with a man like him," Marschal answered her. "And right now, I'm being foolish, myself, and trying to compare my life to yours to make mine seem worse when it's not. I might never know who my father is or understand why half-breeds, like you and me, are treated such, but I never meant for it to come to this." Marschal did not know Kakuma's stance on hugs, though still reached out nonetheless to give her a comforting one and help calm her down. Strange as he was, with the switching of good and bad, Marschal tried to retain the love that he felt toward others as a whole. "Shall we just get a move on then? We're losing daylight from this, and I here the Spooky Forest isn't a place to be at night."

Kakuma looked the man up and down as he spoke, he was attractive and he smelled nice. Kakuma cocked her head to the side and wondered what the twins would think. Kakuma motioned for him to follow her, she headed for the docks because they had a job to get done. Kakuma listened to the man speak about his own life, about his father. Kakuma wondered what kind of father would just leave a child that they fathered, Not the her "father" was much better. But Kakuma understood why Eien could not be there, she was a goddess and would have gotten the entire village killed. Being a dark realm, demons showing up was not uncommon at all. It why the day her powers manifested her sibling had ended up dead. Kakuma sighed to herself, "I get it. But you should remember one thing... I am not the people who treated you badly." Kakuma turned around and walked backwards while she talked. "a lot of the people in Black Rose are the same. People who don't fit into what people call... Normal Society" Kakuma held up her hands and made finger motions when she said Normal Society. "So we went to the corner of the earth and made our own society... one that does not judge on how diffrent you are... but by earning your place." Kakuma was about to continue when she stumbled and fell into a puddle of water, the watter splashed up and drenched her. Kakuma blinked and then burst into laughter. "And somehow they decided a ditz like me was the person most fit to be the Guild master." Kakuma stood up and stripped down, right there in the street, the funny part nobody even batted a eye. "Well then lets get to the port." Kakuma threw her wet dress over her shoulder and walked down the street butt naked.

"It's hard to trust people, you know? You don't know how they are going to treat you, so you automatically go on the defense," Marschal explained. A shrug of his shoulders quickly followed after his words, and he looked off to the side to avoid anymore contact with her. "Normal society is based around reasons and ideologies, nothing more than to make people feel out of place. Only because there isn't a real "normal society", it's just a "society", and people find this way to wiggle into the cracks and loopholes, and break that." His eyes shifted quickly to her for a brief second before they maneuvered back to where they had been staring at the buildings. "They try to define society in a way they believe is correct, when in reality, there's no way for a society to be a certain way. We are all the same, maybe not on the outside, but on the inside, that's what I've come to learn, and no matter how similar you are to another person, they'll find flaws."

Marschal's ears picked up the crunch of rocks turning in a strange way and his head whipped to the side in time to see Kakuma fall. If he had been a second or so sooner, he would have tried to save her from falling into the puddle, but that didn't work out. The water splashed onto him, and the hair on the back of his neck and his forearms raised at the sudden wetness on his skin. He bared his fangs at Kakuma, blaming her for getting him wet, then sidled away from her to keep from getting more wet. "More like a Klutz, rather than ditsy person; maybe you should watch your step more often than being so. . . blindsided."

Kakuma chuckled as Marshal called her a Klutz, she just kept walking. She wondered how he was gonna do in this job, she didn't know what his magic was and didn't know how much training he had. She walked all the way to the ship before asking, "So... what kind of magic do you use, and can you fight in a physical battle... Or am i stuck protecting you..." Kakuma didn't mean to be rude, but she was used to having to protect others and it got a bit old at times. Kakuma's tail bounced back and fourth with each of her steps, somehow all the people knew she was coming and a group met her stopped her.

"Miss Kakuma... here." a shop keeper handed her a nice dress and some undergarments. "Please come with me and we will help you dress."

Kakuma blinked and looked at Marshal, "well i guess i better go get something to wear." Kakuma didn't understand humans honestly, clothing got in the way of movement. But she was in a place where she needed to do as the humans did. It took Kakuma about 20 minutes to decide on a new dress. This one was pure white and made of some nice cloth and lace. She returned wearing the dress, walking up and poking the Marshal in the arm. "So what do you think?" Kakuma spun in place then looked at the man expectantly. After getting her answer she started walking to the port again, they had a job to do after all.

words: 455. tag: @Marshy notes: panther hanyō, Black Rose mage.

"The type of magic, I use?" Marschal repeated her words, though with a more inquisitive tone than he had meant to. He knew what she was asking him, but he didn't know how to exactly describe his magic to the wolfish woman. "It's Hell FrostFire magic, I guess; I have control over both fire and ice, but the fire in the magic is hell fire," he tried explaining. Now, he simply felt dumb; explaining things didn't go over well for him, nor could he find the best words to use. "I don't necessarily know how to explain it. . . it's literally just ice and fire; mostly entrapment spells, other spells are direct hit." Marschy shrugged and kept his mouth shut after finishing his sentence because he felt he was just digging himself a deeper hole. Who cared what his magic was, they likely had a better magic than he had, so there was no point in making it sound cool.

"I mean, I know how to physically fight, but I don't own any sort of weapon, so I'm forced to resort to using my surroundings," Marschal answered her next question. This specific question made him feel inferior because if at all, she would see this as having to protect him, and he didn't want that. He wanted to show that he was strong enough to be on his own, and if she were to protect him, it would look against him. His mother wouldn't be as proud, his father would still be the stupid dumbfuck, but what about his actual father? If any chance of meeting him, he wanted to at least prove to him that he was strong and not a disappointing child. Marschal blinked his eyes and stared at Kakuma as she was dragged away by the townsfolk to be fitted into a new dress. "Uh, yeah, okay," he mumbled, though quickly glanced away again, so he didn't have to look too long at her nakedness.

When twenty minutes had passed by, and Kakuma returned fully clothed, he turned his red irises back to the woman. His ashen ears perked forward at her question, but he was hesitant on answering her if it meant stepping over some invisible line. The man swallowed down his pride though and smiled at her, his sharpened canines apparent in the mess of teeth. "You look beautiful," he complimented her, the smile disappearing as she turned away when she was given her answer and started walking again. Marschal cleared his throat from embarrassment and wandered after her, letting his gaze flutter away from Kakuma. "What about you? I figure you're strong, but what's your magic?" he inquire, tilting his head some as he looked back to her.
