Your Fabulous Magician Merlin here! To clarify what the topic title states, it doesn't completely mean that characters would definitely break the fourth wall, Oh no no no! That would make the lineage of "Blessing of the Fourth Wall" useless now would it?
What I can suggest to the entire board is a non-canon plot! An escape from all the Canon plots we do here! Yes I am aware we have a sub-board section for it and that's the Unknown Lands section! You see I have noticed that almost all of us wanted our characters to interact with one another, do socials, do comedy and stunts, show off, challenge to a contest, perform pranks and all kinds of fun things!
What is stopping us from doing all these? (Merlin excluded, he's designed to be this way In character and out of the plot) Let me tell you... its how serious our character's life stories are. In order to shed some light into the subject, refer to the first release of Teen Titans in the year 2003 and Teen Titans go in the year 2013. If you are familiar with these two series then you have already been given the general idea.
For those who haven't allow me to break it to you in parts that is easy to understand.
An example would be like this:
Canon
Merlin Ambrosius, a mysterious Magus who was witness to many magical events, a number of magus were looking for him, after him for his knowledge and when Lord Frederick discovered him, he sought and plotted to capture him and obtain the knowledge he possesses by creating elaborate schemes.
The Idea of the Fourth Wall (Well that's what I like to call btw)
Merlin Ambrosius, a mysterious magus who witnessed many magical events, watching them like they were all theaters in a movie, always accompanied by popcorn and owns a library of books which nobody has read yet. Lord Frederick the daring and bold decided to come up with tons of shenanigans to break into Merlin's library/vault and exploit its knowledge for various schemes, such as turning into a woman and deceiving shuhei into dating him or better yet acquire the Grail and wish for everyone to turn into Fauna, or become the owner of a harem that consists of the hottest female characters in the site made by the roleplayers.
Now you get the idea right? Now let's go to the point.
What I want... is a sub-board dedicated to that kind of roleplay whereas characters, regardless of alignment can meet, the condition is that its not an In-character plot. Anyone who's anyone can meet, even a legal mage can be friends with a dark mage, some characters who are cool, calm, collective and mature in canon, will be subjected to be a comical character! Its humor, mayhem, joy, wonder and chaos all wrapped up in a single package!
If this goes through here are the benefits:
1. We could all feel accomplished that we have roleplayed with another character
2. We could completely deconstruct our character for them to interact in situations
3. There is no serious plot whatsoever, we can all have fun with all these shenanigans.
4. Characters aren't restricted to their plots and have personalities modified.
5. We can create a hilarious thread and get a freaking oscar for it
6. We're drunk and hysterical every thread.
The Unknown lands? Umm I wouldn't recommend the Unknown lands anymore, based from what I've seen there are a number of in character plots there.
