Snowy Cottage (Duchess Rae Havoc Job)

"The view is gorgeous." The Duchess whispered. Her carriage had dropped her off at the bottom of the mountains due to a lack of road which it could drive on; if it had continued on the mountain path it would've broken all of it's wheels. The way to the village was difficult to go up by, it was rocky, steep and muddy. Boldly put, if it was anyone else climbing it in high heels they would've given up already. Rae however loved it- she enjoyed how difficult it is to get what she wants. She grew up getting everything with a flick of her wrist, it was boring and simple... trying something new like this, it excited her. As she looked around at the gorgeous view, without her realizing it, the Duchess' wings and tail were out in broad daylight due to her eagerness to explore . "Seriously..." The Havoc heir muttered in annoyance. She needed to calm herself down, she could not allow her employers to find out her inhumane nature.

The Duchess ran a hand through her long crimson hair in order to calm herself down. When her wings and tail disappeared she sighed in relief. Turning around in order to continue to her destination, Rae started climbing up the path which was now made up of extremely slippery rocks, underneath which Rae could hear running water. The Havoc Family's heir happily jumped from rock to rock, practicing landing in her high heels. When she arrived at the top of the rocks she smirked at herself. That was way too easy. The Duchess' long red hair swished after her as she made it deeper into the mountain forest which was supposed to contain the village which she was searching for. After several minutes of walking however something seemed off... she was being watched. Rae's feet came to a halt in front of a spear. As her demonic eyes looked at the owner of the spear she could hear others approaching.

One, two...seventeen. Seventeen spears all pointed at her. This is where Rae's aristocratic ways of getting out of problems kicked in. Analyse: These people were all wearing similar clothes, they did not seem like robbers as if they were, they would've already attacked her. Instead they seemed to be protecting something. Where they all people from the mountain village? It was worth a try. "Good evening. I would appreciate it if you do not point spears at me, I come in peace." The Duchess stated loudly so that all of the people there could hear. The spears did not move, The Havoc heir did not expect otherwise. "I am here based on a request from your people, I have heard that someone here requires help building a cottage." There was still no movement. "I am Duchess Rae Havoc and I have come here to that person's aid." The red-head introduced herself with a curtsy. She kept the curtsy position until the spears started being dropped.

It was quiet, the people in front of the Duchess said nothing however she could heard footsteps approaching her. An old man appeared in front of her. He said nothing but simply studied her with his eyes. Rae could only do the same, he seemed like he held a position of power so if these were his lands, respect would be in order. "Very well." The old man spoke loudly, the moment those words left his lips the spears, just like their owners, vanished into thin air. The Havoc heiress kept her composure as the old man approached her "We have received word of your arrival, your grace." He smiled, the fact that he did not bow only confirmed the Duchess' suspicion that this old man does indeed hold a powerful position of power in the village community. "Bartre is the name of the man who requested your help, shall I will escort you to him?" The old man asked politely. The Duchess could only smile at the respect in the man's tone. "That would be lovely sir, thank you."

The mountain village was not necessarily the prettiest place the Duchess had ever seen, but it had it's own charm- it looked like a place with a lot of history and tradition. The people, who were relatively short and lived in small huts, popped out in order to see the weird red-haired stranger that was walking after by the village elder.The Duchess couldn't help but enjoy the attention that she was being given as she strutted confidently behind the old man who lead her to her quest. "Bartre, your helper has arrived! Get out here you lazyass!" The village elder shouted at the small hut which they stopped in front of. The Duchess kept her posture perfectly straight as she waited for her employer to come out. This was business. A rather chubby-looking bearded man came out first, the red-haired female assumed this was "Bartre"a.k.a her employer, he was followed by a young man of an age of around seventeen. They both looked at Rae in confusion. "Well, I have never seen a helper this fine since my wife." Bartre commented.

"Thank you, sir." Rae smiled at the comment. On the inside she wasn't feeling happy at all- the old man just checked her out and stated his opinion out loud. The Duchess would appreciate a bit more subtlety and respect and honestly speaking, if this wasn't her job, she would've already thrown the old fart off the mountain cliffs. "I heard the work I could help with is building a cottage?" The Havoc heir asked inquisitively- she wanted to get to work already; she felt like she was wasting useful time. The young man which stood next to Bartre was surprisingly the one to answer her. "Yes, we are building  a house for my sister, Nino, she's getting married in two days and she has always wanted to live on top of the mountain. " He explained, rather eagerly at that. "What Ninko said." Bartre coughed as he entered back into his hut, he seemed to not have any interest in helping out with his daughter's present. The really Duchess wanted to kick this man where the sun didn't shine, she despised lazy people, she dug her nails into her wrists and kept on smiling.

As the Duchess and Ninko sat down on the ground in order to formulate an architectural plan for Nino's cottage the crowd of people which was circled around them didn't seem to be prone to dispersing. Halfway through drawing the plan of the cottage Ninko spoke out of topic "Sorry about my village, we don't get outsiders here very often." Rae could only smile at the boy. "Don't worry about me, lets just get this done." The Havoc heir pushed. She didn't want to get sentimental with this boy, she could feel his eyes on her non-stop and she did not enjoy it one bit. "So, how do you usually carry material up the mountain?" The red-head asked, she somehow felt like she already knew the answer. "We carry it up." Was the curt answer which she expected. With a smirk, the Duchess stood up and started reading through the list of materials that they would require for the cottage. There was no better work-out than carrying wood up a mountain, somehow Rae's adventurous side seemed to find that, well, adventurous.

"Stop, this is too heavy!" Ninko screamed at the Duchess as she put the forth block of wood on his hands. The Duchess couldn't help but smirk at the boy, weren't men supposed to be the stronger gender? Then again at least he cared enough to help, unlike the old mustached man who was holed up in his hut. With ease, and to Ninko and the villager's amazement Rae picked up nine wooden blocks and headed up the mountain. The process was repeated several times. "You must really hate doing this..." Ninko spoke earning him a blank glace back from the Duchess. "Not really, I actually quite enjoy it." The red-haired aristocrat smiled as she picked up the last batch of wooden blocks that they needed to carry up the mountain. The male seemed to pause for a second before following her up. At the top, however, they were met with a raging blizzard. "We should rest." Ninko suggested. The Duchess had no such plans.

"You're crazy." Ninko shouted after Rae as she set off into the blizzard with several wooden blocks and started to put the cottage together."I prefer calling it inhumane." She muttered. Thankfully right around the time of sunset the Blizzard seemed to halt and allowed Ninko to help the Duchess out, making the building process twice as fast. After several hours of hard work it was too cold to continue so the couple headed down to the village. "You think we'll manage to finish by tomorrow?" Ninko asked, the worry in his voice was evident. The Duchess nodded confidently, "If I start at sunrise we will, even if there is a blizzard later on." Rae was feeling quite tired however she was also having quite a lot of fun- trying something she had never done before. The noble ran a hand through her long red hair as they reached the village, she had no intention of sleeping in Ninko and Bartre's house.

"No way..." Rae could hear a voice behind her mutter. She could already guess that it was Ninko, who did not believe her claim that she was going to work on the cottage since sunrise. As a Devil, the Duchess did not feel a strong need for sleep however no-one really needed to know that. "Feel free to help with the roof." She smiled at the young man who immediately got to work. Rae didn't know if it was because he was attracted to her or because he really loved his sister, she didn't mind as long as he helped her finish this faster. By lunch time, on top of the mountains, on a snowy field, there stood a gorgeous, large cottage which every member of the mountain village could only want. "Thank you very much for your work." The village elder shook the Duchess' hand happily. "Thank you very much for the opportunity." The red-head smiled her usual business smile and was off to her next adventure.
