The Lunar Clocktower
Primary Magic: Summoning Caster Magic
Secondary Magic: N/A
Caster or Holder: Caster
Description:
When light reflects off of the celestial body we call the moon, it bounces back to us in the form of reflected light, or moonlight. Fainter than the sun, the light of the moon is more transparent, and is much less likely to harm from direct contact. But that doesn't make it any less effective. The pale luminescence carries with it certain qualities full sunlight can never achieve, and it is the core of what fuels this magic. Using the power of the moon, and willing one's mana to form, the wielder is capable of summoning creatures to aid them, which grow in strength as the power of the moon affects the user, and are then empowered by the creatures they summon in turn. This effect happens gradually, but strengthens noticeably in very specific increments. Specifically, in twelve increments(And a hidden 13th) that not only empower the summon, but change its form into a greater one. The summons need not require the moon, but they all must make pact with the summoner in some way to truly be bestowed the gifts of the ethereal light.
Shira Nui, a woman who agreed to share her soul with a soul collector named Nox, now finds that the subtle connection made with that sharing has allowed the formless creature to tap into her mana reserves. Without souls to satiate an unquenchable hunger, Nox instead feeds upon her mana to remain in this world, but he(it identifies as a male) cannot manifest himself without aid, a testament to the willpower Shira has. As a priestess, Shira can tap into her mana and, even moreso, tap into the power of moonlight when available to manifest Nox to fight or defend, or even support in some cases. The more mana poured into the summoning, the more powerful the summon. Though Shira's natural mana reserves are kept at about a quarter of what is considered normal because of Nox's relentless feeding, it comes with several side-effects. For the link between them, Shira's soul, houses both of them, as Nox has no soul of his own, and any mana taken from a source outside Shira herself is shared between. Even better is that Nox, a creature used to absorbing large quantities of mana in order to feed on a person's soul, actually doubles Shira's maximum mana reserves.

Even better is that Nox, a creature used to absorbing large quantities of mana in order to feed on a person's soul, actually doubles Shira's maximum mana reserves.
Strengths:
- Summoned being can aid the summoner without further mana cost to them.
- Summoner gains buffs to themselves and their summons without mana cost in moonlight.
Weaknesses:
- Spells made specifically to be used for/by a summon will still cost the summoner mana.
- Summon in this case isn't "bound" to serve, merely shares the same soul, and may deviate on its own agenda.
- Summoner feels what the summon does, and vice versa, and thus pain and similar experiences vibrate through them both. Death kills them both, sharing the same soul.
Lineage: Warrior's Heart
Unique Abilities:
- Mana Flux:
- A condition Nox induces in Shira through the constant consumption of her mana so keep himself sated and connected to her soul, lest he fade away. As long as she shares her mana, he shares his appetite for souls and the power hidden within. This Passive ability means that Shira only has 25% of a normal mage's mana outside of combat, but that her MAXIMUM mana reserves are roughly double that of a normal mage's. (Example: For a Mage with 100MP, Shira would have 25MP normally, but could regain up to 200MP during battle or plot events, which would be consumed back to 25MP afterwards)
- Essence Reaver:
- Nox is tied directly to Shira's soul, and thus her mana. They share it (unequally) and are thus always in need of it. Thus, this Passive ability occurs any time Nox or a weapon infused with Shira's mana deals damage to an enemy, an amount of mana equal to 25% of the damage dealt is also "sheared" from them and given to Shira. This effect is doubled in moonlight, and does not work when other mana stealing abilities are in effect.
- Lunar Overclocking:
- The sigil on Shira's head represents the moon. although it changes to represent the eight phases of the moon, it does not follow the actual moon's rotation. Instead, it fills and changes based on how much mana she has, starting with Waning Crescent as "normal" and going to Full Moon at a normal mage's reserves, and finally New Moon when she is maxed out. At New Moon, the other runes, tattoos, and her pact symbol all shine a brilliant silver, and she enters what is considered her Battle Form. At this point Shira's speed, agility, and reflexes all receive a 50% boost each, and any attacks she makes herself apply "Essence Reaver" as if she were Nox. This buff lasts until she reverts back to Full Moon.
