    - Haretsa

After she had handed the flyer with the mission details to Ardere and watched Evelyn depart from the tavern, Haretsa made her way back up to her office to gather her things together. Haresta had been given this space the size of a small house to be her office as a gift for becoming one of the guilds Aces, or “Heads of the Hydra” as Ardere called them, and she was adjusting to the space rather nicely. She had a sizeable bedroom, her own personal kitchen, a bathroom, and plenty of open space to hold parties, meetings, or even sleepovers. However, this was merely only one half of her office. The other was located deep within the side of one of the nearby mountains and was only accessible via a teleportation lacrima that she had set up in her bedroom. Rushing into her room, Haretsa grabbed hold of the crimson lacrima and shielded her eyes from the bright glowing light that quickly enveloped her entire body to bring her down to her workshop.

Once the light had faded, the cream haired Dragon Slayer took a deep breath to inhale the incredible aroma of molten heat, oil, and various other smells that filled her entire sprawling workshop. Ardere had built this place himself alongside the guild hall just for Haretsa and it couldn’t be any better. The forge along the northern wall of the workshop was massive enough for her to work with ridiculously sized pieces of metal should she ever need to and had the nice touch of a large dragon head sculpted out of rock hanging above it. While this place was fairly empty for the time being and only possessed her current essentials, Haretsa was sure that this place would be filled to the brim with all kinds of different inventions and metals in no time. Walking over to the large workbench near the forge, Haretsa gave a smile as she looked over the five items that she had lying on it. ”Alright boys and girls, we ready to head out?” Haretsa asked, grabbing the golden bracelet that had belonged to her mother and securing the jewelry around her left wrist. She then began to make strange snoring noises before shaking her head in what seemed to be disappointment. ”Of course you would be asleep, Flect. When are you ever NOT sleeping?” the girl sighed as she picked up her gun scythe that was currently in its compact mode. ”How about you, Scisara? You feeling better after the upgrades I gave you?” ”I feel like I could cleave a mountain in two, my dear.” the weapon responded as Haretsa bobbed it up and down slightly as if it were actually talking before placing in its holster about the back of her waist. Haretsa then began to slide on two large, golden, and rather technological looking bracelets, with the left fitting securely over the top of the one she currently had on. ”WELL IT’S ABOUT DAMN TIME!! I’VE BEEN WAITING TO BLAST SOME FOOLS IN THE FRIGGIN FACE EVER SINCE THAT JACKWAGON FROM THE PRIORY TORE ME TO PIECES!!!” a brash, familiar voice shouted that echoed throughout the workshop. ”It’s good to have you back, Blamo. I missed you…” Haretsa spoke rather softly, tenderly petting the large bracelets. ”EW GROSS. STOP GETTING ALL MUSHY WITH ME, DAMMIT!!”

With her gear all prepped and ready, Haretsa picked up the last device she had set on the table. It was a small communications device powered by a miniature lacrima that fit rather unintrusively and hidden within her ear. Once it was in, Haretsa headed the hulking machine that stood gloriously in the center of the workshop. ”Alright Ragna, time to wake up now!” she exclaimed, the large, cat like machine’s eyes flashing a flaming red in response to the young girl’s voice. The machine then began to move and look around for the source of the voice. ”Down here big guy!” Haretsa spoke softly this time, knowing the beast could hear her thanks to the device in her ear. The mech turned and knelt down slowly so that his head was touching the ground and facing Haretsa directly. ”Hello!” the machine spoke enthusiastically, waving its tail back and forth rapidly like a happy little puppy. ”Hiya Ragna! Do you know who I am and who you are?” Haretsa asked the machine. ”You’re Haretsa Shikon, 18 and a half years old, 198 lbs, and member of the Infinity Hydra mage guild. I am designation HSIH-04 X9 Ragnarok; also known as Ragna! I am your liger mech pet… what’s a liger mech?” Ragna asked, tilting his large head in slight confusion. Ragna’s A.I might have come across as rather unintelligent, but Haretsa had programmed him to be curious and have the open mind of a youth; much like herself. ”I’ll explain that to you sometime later. You’re not really a pet to me. You’re more like a child to me than anything, so I guess I’m your mommy! Now come on, we have a job to get to!” Haretsa exclaimed, about to open up Ragna’s cockpit before he started to look at her extremely confused. ”Mommy? Aren’t you a little small though? Wait… how big AM I?!” Ragna exclaimed in confusion, rolling around on his back to try and get a sense of just how big he really was. ”Oh boy… I should have figured you’d need time to adjust after being booted up for the first time… this could take a while.”

Speed reading through the details of the mission, Ardere noted every word. It had been a long time since he had the pleasure of venturing to Karakuri City, and this time would be an interesting one. It would be the first official mission of Team Amaterasu, even if it was just half of it. Fortunately the two would likely form a formidable team, as his partner was Haretsa. She had gone upstairs to get ready, so he would meet her in Karakuri after doing some recon. If he knew her well, she likely had some form of transportation that would be quite swift. It had been a long time since he had taken the Black Sun, and she needed to get out more. Folding up the mission and sliding it into his pocket, the fire mage tightened the leather armor to conform to his body. Writing a note down and handing it to Celica, it would be sent to the young dragon slayer. The note said:

    Haretsa,

I'll meet you in Karakuri after I ask around a bit, make sure your gear is ready. I'll be waiting for you at the Investigator's office. See ya soon.

    -Ardere Kasai

With his armor and sword ready, that would be the only gear he needed. Considering the two necklaces he wore were always on his person, not much else was needed. Sliding the Moon Amulet under his armor, he kept the Champion necklace visible. The two necklaces were reminders of his two most important missions, and he would never forget them. Making his way to the Black Sun, it was a magnificent ship. Dark wood with golden metal plating on the front, massive sails and twin engines provided the perfect flight. Hopping into it, he flipped on the systems to hear the purring of the powerful engines from Bosco. As the ship took to the air, he saw the sails flap in the wind furiously. It had been a few weeks, far too long. Squawking coming from the Captain's quarters, or in this case the Guild Master's quarters. A red phoenix yawned, stepping out of the room. Soaring over to the control panel, Ember Celica sat there with her partner. Morning Ardere, where might we be off to? Running his hand across her feathers, the fire mage would soar towards Karakuri. Off to Karakuri town, some kidnappings have been going around. Nodding, the majestic bird stared off to the sky. It would be not too long before the two arrived in the city. His first order of business would be to land the ship at one of the air ports, which he did. After exiting the air port filled with people, he chose to head down to the Investigator's offices to ask some questions. Hopefully Haretsa would arrive soon, but he still had some questions to ask first. This would give her plenty of time to get ready, as he searched for clues.

    - Haretsa

After several long and agonizing minutes, Ragna finally decided to not be such a curious little kitten and listened to Haretsa explain exactly what he was. ”Oh, I get it now! You developed me as an A.I and made this body for me, so that’s what makes you like my mommy. That makes a lot more sense now, given your size.” Ragna surmised, causing Haretsa to nod in agreement. ”That’s right! I gave you quite a few bits of preinstalled knowledge, but I wanted to see if I could make an A.I that could learn like we do. It seems to be a success so far, but you’re more than just some experiment; you’re a new friend.” she explained, reaching out and scratching Ragna’s forehead as if he was an actual cat.
Now, let’s try a bit of an experiment. I want you to try opening your cockpit on your own, ok?”
Haretsa requested, causing Ragna to pause for a moment in order to try and figure out the request. After a few seconds, the upper portion of the mechanical beasts head began to open to reveal five seats and several different components and such designed similarly to that strange screen that Tyriel possessed with her magic. ”There, I think I did it… Uh.. Mommy? Is my head supposed to be opening!?” Ragna asked somewhat concernedly as Haretsa hopped up inside his head. ”Yes, it’s fine Ragna, the cockpit is in your head. And like I said, you can just call me Haretsa. Just because I’m like your mommy doesn’t mean you have to call me that. Now, close the hatch.” Haretsa commanded as she took the lead seat.

Once the hatch was closed, Haretsa pulled up a console in front of her seat and began all kinds of buttons on it. The inside of Ragna’s head seemed to disappear as a full 360 degree view of the Ragna’s surroundings were displayed throughout the entire cockpit. ”The front and rear camera’s seem to be working fine. Alright, let’s see if the map I installed in you works…” she mumbled, as a small transparent blue map of Fiore popped up in front of her. ”Um… is it supposed to be that blurry?” Ragna asked, commenting on the rather distorted looking map that seemed to be missing several parts of Fiore. ”Nope… Darn, I guess I still have a few bugs to work out. Alright, I’ll just assume control then until we can get that figured out!” Haretsa explained, grabbing hold of the control sticks attached to her chair in order to start moving Ragna slowly. ”We’ll just take it easy for now so you can get a feel for how your body moves. You ready to go?” ”Yup! I’m ready to rock whenever you are!” Ragna exclaimed enthusiastically as Haretsa guided the mech down the hall and out of the hatch on the side of the mountain. There was no way Ardere could have known about Ragna, so Haretsa assumed that this giant stretch and exit hatch was for something else he might want her to construct.

After a few hours of relatively slow travel, the mechanical beast was now running up the large mountain trail that lead to Karakuri City at about a third of its maximum speed. ”How do you feel, Ragna? Do you think that you’d be comfortable running and walking on your own at all?” Haretsa asked, still manning the controls just to be safe. ”I think so. I’m starting to understand how this body you made for me works, but it’s still kind of weird…” Ragna responded. Haretsa could only imagine how strange this must have been for the newly developed A.I. ”That’s fine, I’ll keep on the controls until you feel comfortable trying. Now, let’s slow you on down so we don’t end up trampling the whole city.” Haretsa lightly laughed as she pulled back on the sticks, easing Ragna’s momentum down until he came to a full stop several feet outside of Karakuri’s main gate. Hopping out of her seat and pushing a button on the console, Haretsa waited patiently for Ragna’s head to open before jumping out of the cockpit; scaling down the beasts leg as he sealed the cockpit back up on his own. ”Alright, you stay here and keep your eyes scanning the city for anything abnormal. I have a communication device in my ear hooked up directly to you, so you’ll be able to relay any information to me and vice versa. You be a good boy now, ya hear?” ”You got it, boss!” the beast replied enthusiastically. Haretsa set off into the ancient city that was home to Eclipse Soul with a new challenge in front of her; finding the freaking investigators office that sent out the request.

Gazing down upon the piece of parchment detailing the address and basic events of the mission, Ardere shifted his eyes to the address on the office building he was standing before. Seems we're at the right place. Shoving the piece of paper between the plates of his armor, he took a deep breath before stepping into the office. He did so not because he was nervous, but so he was calm. It was strange to enter an office building covered in armor and a cloak flowing down near his ankles, but he was a guild master after all. Flashy and prompt, he made his way down through the hall. It was a nice little office attached to the Rune Knight station, but it was a bit more casual than their office. The investigators here worked for the Council, but they were not Knights. Hopefully he could get some insight into exactly what was happening here, but he was unsure what they were up against. Disappearances could mean anything, he needed to know what was causing it and where they were. A mission of this variety was not one that required him to blow up every building, but one that required intelligence and strategy.

Stepping into the office of Investigator Grummen, he gave a slight wave. Afternoon, I'm Ardere Kasai. I responded to your request earlier, and I was wondering if you could provide some details before I go running off guns blazing. The Investigator was a middle aged man, likely experience in these sorts of investigations. The man gestured for him to sit down as he began to speak. Take a seat. Well the disappearances started recently. At first we didn't think much of it, but after whole families started vanishing into thin air, we had to set up patrols. The only reports we got were people being sucked into the darkness. I wish I could be more of help, but there's not much to go on. Reaching into the cabinet, he pulled out a small file and handed it to the fire mage. This is the file report with the last reported siting, I hope it helps. Shaking the man's hand, the guild master accepted the file and nodded. This will do just fine, thank you for your time. We'll be in touch. Stuffing the folder under his arm, he made his way back outside of the building. Standing next to the entrance, he found himself skimming through the reports. Flipping through the pages, he awaited the arrival of his partner.

The Hunt Continues (The Slayer Project job w/ Ardere) CANAAN

    - Haretsa

As the young Slayer walked through the streets of the mountainous city, she noted that Karakuri and the Mountain Village had some things in common. The towns locations were high up within their respective mountain ranges and both possessed buildings of similar architecture; primarily found in the respective Guild Halls of each town. However, Karakuri’s buildings were also similar in style to the Eclipse Soul guild hall, whereas the Mountain Village’s buildings were much more simplistic in nature. It made Haretsa wonder just what these places were inspired by. Was Ardere simply inspired by Karakuri’s design, or did both of the designs come from elsewhere? Not to mention, where exactly WAS Ardere from in the first place? He had a slight accent to him, so he wasn’t exactly native to Fiore. The more Haretsa thought about this, the more she realized that she didn’t exactly know too much about her guild master other than the fact that he was a god slayer. Hopefully with the formation of their team, the two would get to know each other a lot better than they currently did.

Taking a deep breath of the crisp mountain air, Haretsa continued her trek through the city to find the investigators residence of operations. Hazel orbs looked around in amazement as the young woman had apparently ended up in Karakuri’s market district. Blades and armor similar to Ardere’s adorned vendor’s stalls, fresh fish and strange snacks hung from food shops, and there were all kinds of toys and artwork on display. All of this was completely foreign to Fiore and absolutely fascinated Haretsa. She really wanted to explore and find out the history behind all of these things and where they came from. ”Gah! Focus dammit!” Haretsa shook her head as she smacked her cheeks. ”You’re here on a job, brain! We’ll have time to look at all this stuff once we figure out what’s going on he- Ooooooooh, that is a really nice looking blade. The craftsmanship on it looks pheno- NO. WALK AWAY DAMMIT!” she exclaimed to herself, briskly walking away from the market district as several residents gave her rather odd looks.

After a few more minutes of walking, Haretsa noticed a familiar face standing outside of a building reading through some papers. ”I guess you did manage to beat me here after all!” Haretsa exclaimed as she approached her guild master with a warm smile. ”I would have been here sooner if it wasn’t for uh… pet training…” the young girl laughed, scratching the back of her head rather embarrassingly due to her miscalculation of Ragna’s initial response to being alive. ”Anyway, I’m assuming those are the reports on the disappearances? Mind filling me on what they have to say?” she asked, ready to begin this investigation to help the people of Karakuri.

Flipping through the pages of the report, Ardere's curiosity only seemed to grow. One common thing was piercing his mind, there was never a sign of struggle. They simply seemed to just vanish. Logically he should conclude they were drugged and dragged off, but magic could be more complex that that. As he was examining the papers, a familiar scent would cross his path. Haretsa had finally made her entrance, not too late in his eyes. He had expected her to arrive about now, and fortunately she had. Afternoon Haretsa, pretty close to on time. A smile crossing his lips, it was assumed she had been working on some invention of hers. I know the feeling. His orange eyes shifting their gaze from the pages to her, he would toss the folder into the air. Well. A red majestic bird would swoop down from the sky and snag the folder before making her exit, taking the documents back to his ship. These people seemed to have just disappeared, no struggle, no signs of them. Just disappeared into the shadows. I have the location of the last known sighting, it's just down the road. Perhaps our slayer senses may be of some assistance. Assuming she was ready, the guild master would knock the cloak he bore back behind his shoulders to form more of a cape. Keeping his armor covered hands by his side, it would not be long before they reached their destination.

After a few minutes of walking, the two slayers would find themselves in front of a two story house. The house fit in with the rest of the unique architecture, stone patio and lone tree in the front. In style it remin/ded him of something from home, but it was still unique. Ardere looked around, and he did not see or hear anyone, let alone smell anyone. The document says the family just disappeared one day, never came out to get their mail and their children missed school. When someone came to check on them, they were just gone. I suppose we should step inside. As the fire mage calmly walked towards the entrance of the house, he could not escape the feeling of being watched. His enhanced senses could not detect anything, but the ominous feeling would not leave his core. Cautiously entering the house, it was dark. Snapping his fingers and sending flames to several of the candles, the room would be provided with some light. It was a nice little house, and judging by the pictures on the walls it was inhabited by a very nice family. Twisting his pale lips, it was a damn shame they had been taken. The one thing he noticed that was odd, was the dark aura he could feel. It was not being generated, but he could feel bits of it left behind. His only hope was that the dragon slayer could make sense of it. Hmm.

The Hunt Continues (The Slayer Project job w/ Ardere) CANAAN

    - Haretsa

Folding her arms and tilting her head ever so slightly, Haretsa listened intently to the words that proceeded from her guild master’s mouth. According to the reports that Ardere had read, there was no sign of any kind of break in or struggle and no traces of left of the victims. The part that caught Haretsa’s attention the most was when Ardere mentioned that the victims just seemed to disappear into the shadows. This was intriguing to her because she only knew of a few people who possessed such an ability; and the only other two were Slayer’s the same as her. With Ardere leading the way, Haretsa followed suit with that fact stuck in her mind. ”Emi’s working for the Rune Knights from what that letter of hers said and she wouldn’t do anything like this in the first place; it’s just not her. The only other person I know that has that has command enough to drag people down into the shadow’s is Ayeseru… come to think of it, he never stated what guild he was from… He could have been from a Dark Guild for all I know… but why would he help me if that were the case? There’s also Demon Slayer’s out there like Kite, so it wouldn’t be wrong to assume that there’s one who can command Shadows. Then there’s the possibility of an actual Shadow Dragon slayer who was taught by a dragon… It could even be a normal shadow mage for all we know. So many possibilities…” she thought to herself as the two Slayer’s made their way to the last known sighting.

Upon arriving at the two story home, Ardere explained to the Dragon Slayer that an entire family had just suddenly vanished from this house. This didn’t set well with the cream haired mage due to what had happened to her own, but it also served as a driving force to want to solve this case even more. Following her guild master inside the home, Haretsa looked around as Ardere ignited some nearby candles to give the abode some light. From what Haretsa could tell, the report about there being no struggle was completely true. The entire place seemed immaculate aside from a few gathering cobwebs. Despite this, Haretsa couldn’t help but feel something was rather out of place in this home. Having an odd hunch, Haretsa began to inhale the air around just as she normally did to consume flames or shadows around her. While she managed to consume the shadows given off by the lit candles in the process, Haretsa definitely managed to consume a small trace of some that tasted completely different. ”It was small, but I definitely noticed a trace of some weird tasting shadows… Natural shadows all taste the same to me, so I’m guessing that these are magical in nature… and I’m not choking nor trying to vomit, so they definitely aren’t from a god or demon slayer. I know it’s not much of a lead, but we at least know the culprit we’re looking for has Shadow magic of some kind. Did the reports mention any kind of similarities between the people who were kidnapped? If we can identify some kind of pattern, we might just be able to set up a trap for the bastard.”

Ardere nodded at Haretsa's words, whilst looking at family photos. His pale lips formed a slight frown, and then straightened as his motivation was now clear. Seeing as he was going to be a father himself, there was a part of them that understood the concept of family, even long before now. Whatever these people were being kidnapped for, it was likely they were needed alive and unharmed. Shadow magic. I can feel it, but it feels a bit different somehow. Each of the people kidnapped seemed to be in families, 4 to 5 each. That was not the only thing he could feel, the feeling of being watched was only increasing each moment. Walking along the hall, his pale fingers trailed against paintings and photos. He was attempting to feel something, he was not sure what but there had to be a sign of what happened here. There's no way to set a trap, if they're going after families there's got to be a hundred more living in this city that fit that description. While setting a trap was a great idea, the targets were too broad. Fortunately their situation had created it's own solution, if someone was watching them then they had the opportunity to track them back to their base. That was under the assumption it was more than one person doing this, and considering the amount of kidnappings that had to be the case.

His nostrils flaring, a scent caught his nose that made him think perhaps that it was not them being watched, but that something had been left behind. The scent of shadows and the feeling of aura was stronger upstairs, presumably where they had been snatched out of their beds. Let's check upstairs. Swiftly moving up the wooden stairs, it was faint but there were signs of shadows magic. Unfortunately it had faded significantly. Gazing into one of the room, the only signs were that the covers had been shifted where they were pulled out of their beds. Hmm. Running his fingers across the window seal, it did not appear to even be opened. The shadow mage must have used the shadows to travel, do you think you could help me track it? Unless you've got a fancy device that can follow ethernano trails. The only way this guy could get away is if he used magic, meaning there had to be a trail leading somewhere. Sighing slightly, there was not much to go on. He could attempt to track the shadow magic, but even being one of the stronger slayers in Fiore it would not be easy. It was not like fire where it left burns, shadows were stealthy on purpose. The two slayers had a hell of a road ahead of them, but if they could follow this trail it would lead them right to the source.

    - Haretsa

Haretsa was honestly hoping that there would be a much more defining feature that would help the two narrow down the next target, but the common factor was far too broad. Ardere was right, there would be no way to set any kind of trap with the targets being families of roughly four to five people. Remembering what Skylar had once told her of the two sister’s having a brother born in between them, Haretsa was starting to notice more similarities between this case and what had happened to her family years ago than she liked. ”No, it can’t be. Whoever is doing this is taking entire families alive, which is pretty much the exact opposite of what those bastards did…” Haretsa thought to herself as Ardere mentioned checking upstairs to see if there was any kind of clue they could use there.

Following right behind her guild master, Haretsa peered into one room as Ardere looked inside the one across the hall. It was much more faded than the ones down stairs, but the cream haired mage could definitely tell that the same shadows that were present downstairs were in these rooms as well. Noting the unbroken and securely locked window of the room she was in, Haretsa turned her attention to her guild master as he spoke of the shadow mage’s use of the shadows in order to travel. Reasoning that this was most definitely the case, Haretsa knew that there was only one possible way to track their culprit. ”I may not have anything to track ethernano signatures, but I’m sure I can follow the trail left behind by using the same method of travel! I doubt whoever is responsible for this was expecting a Shadow Slayer to be on the case!” Haretsa exclaimed with confidence as her body slowly began to become one with the shadows. ”You should still be able to sense me magically while I’m in here since your magic signature is more powerful than mine. Keep your eye’s open out here so I can focus on the trail and we’ll find this bastard in no time!” she explained before her entire body was now within the Void.

Looking around her secondary plain of existence, Haretsa could definitely feel the trail left by the perpetrator much better in the void. While it was still very faint, the trail was enough for Haretsa to follow. Moving at a relatively normal pace as to not lose her guild master and to focus on the trail better, Haretsa made her way back down stairs and outside of the home; heading in the opposite direction that the two Slayer’s had approached the house from. The trail lead the young Dragon Slayer zigzagging every which way through Karakuri and down all kinds of alleyways until it had lead her to the city's northern gate. Looking around incredibly confused, Haretsa couldn’t sense the trail anymore. ”No good, the trail stops dead cold right here.” Haretsa explained as she hopped out of the shadows and looked around the surrounding area. While Karakuri’s streets were paved by fine cobblestone, the mountain trails leading to the city were completely dirt; which made this even more bizarre. Looking around carefully, Haretsa couldn’t see any kind of footprints or tracks from any animal or vehicle. In fact, it looked as though no one had used this northern trail ever before. ”The shadow trail stops dead here, so they must have exited the shadows here and proceeded down this trail some otherway. They clearly made tracks, but they had some way of completely covering them up to make it look as though no one ever used this trail. They could be anywhere in this damn mountain range or even beyond it!” Haretsa spoke rather angrily as she leaned up against the city's outer walls rubbing her temples. There had to be some way to continue tracking this perp, she just needed a moment to think the situation over.

Nodding to his partner, Ardere would crack his knuckles. He sometimes forgot that she was a shadow slayer, but it was certainly something that would come in handy. Whoever was doing this would be in for a surprise when two slayers came knocking on their door, especially these two. They were the most combat seasoned people in the guild, and they were determined to finish this job. He watched as she entered her shadow form, and he would tune his senses to follow it. Out of the room and down the stairs, he follow Haretsa out of the house. I hope you know where you're going. A smirk crossing his pale lips, he was well aware she knew where she was going. Even with his jest, he did not doubt her abilities. Dashing through Karakuri, he would examine the city as he moved. It was quite the nice town after all, one that he would be proud to help. But he could not shake the feeling that these people were being kidnapped for a sinister purpose, other than murder of course. With such a high number, it was more likely they were being kidnapped for some sort of experiment or magical ritual. He had encountered something similar in the Ancient Ruins, but not on this scale. He was incredibly worried for these people, but all he could do was save them. He had to.

Stopping at the end of the trail, the fire mage found himself at the edge of the city with his partner. Damn. Looking around, there had to be some sort of clue. Running his fingers across the ground, he could not smell anything. Strange. It's almost like they teleported out of here. While it was a wild assumption, it was beginning to look like this had been more than a one man job. Standing straight up, he focused his senses. With his Crash magic, he was able to tap into ethernano, but it would be quite dangerous. He could not risk it this close to town, there had to be another way to track this down. One of those new inventions you were working on wouldnt be able to help us here would they? The best thing I can think of is using my ship's lacrima radar or the infared sensors. Otherwise I'm going to make the ethernano trail explode all the way to their base, which isn't good for anyone. They had some options, but one of them was dangerous while the other would take some time to find exactly what they were looking for. Arching a brow, he looked towards the mountains. Perhaps that was where they were, but the mountains were quite a large area.

    - Haretsa

Haretsa turned her head towards her guild master at his mention of teleportation. Considering how Kite had brought Haretsa to Karakuri last time via his own teleportation lacrima, the young girl had no doubt that this was a very highly probable assumption. However, even if that was how they got away, it still didn’t much help the two Slayer’s very much. Ardere then mentioned the only other options he could think of involving his ship’s radar, infrared sensors, or blowing up the ethernano left in the air by the perpetrator. Haretsa had no idea how exactly he would manage this, but it didn’t exactly sound like the safest option to be doing; especially in a city. ”Well, I have built in infrared vision thanks to my magic, though it seems to go away when I move too much. The only way I really have to trace ethernano trails is with Ragna. Unfortunately, his system isn’t fully functioning as much as I had hoped it would be, so I’m not sure how much help he’d really be…” Haretsa explained, judging this based on the fact that Ragna’s internal map of Fiore hadn’t displayed properly earlier.

Oddly enough, Ragna decided to chime into the conversation not very long after Haretsa had mentioned him. ”Mommy, can you hear me?! Something just popped up on my sensors!! I think it’s one of those magic signature things you guys have?!” Ragna shouted loud enough that Ardere could probably hear it coming from Haretsa’s hidden earpiece. ”Owww! Ragna, you don’t have to yell! I can hear you just fine and I told you you don’t have to call me Mommy just because I built you!” ”R-Right! Sorry… but anyway, one of those magic signature thingys just popped up from out of nowhere! It started moving towards you guys before it just.. vanished!” Ragna explained much quieter this time, causing Haretsa to pause for a brief moment. ”A magic signature that just randomly shows up out of nowhere, starts heading this way, and then vanishes? Well, I guess the person we’re looking for decided to show himself today!” Haretsa explained to her guild master as she readied herself for what was coming.

As the Dragon Slayer was about to merge into the Void to try and catch their target, her eyes widened as she felt the very shadows themselves moving at an alarming rate towards the two’s current location. ”Holy crap, he’s fast!!” the cream haired mage exclaimed as she felt the shadows rip past the two Slayer’s; not stopping as the trail they had tracked did. ”Shit, I’m gonna try to catch him! Keep your senses on me as much as you can! Ragna, move around to the north and follow Ardvark!” Haretsa hastily exclaimed; merging into the shadows and taking off after this new trail as fast as she could. Haretsa knew that her maximum speed in the shadows was incredibly fast, but whoever she was following was traveling even faster than she could. If anything, this would hopefully lead the two Slayers straight to the kidnappers base of operations if he didn’t know he was being followed.

Sliding a leather covered fist to his hip, Ardere sighed slightly. It appeared they were stuck for the moment, but the dragon slayer did have a few ideas of her own. There were not many options at the moment, but it would appear that an opportunity would present itself. He could feel something moving their way, in the shadows. The words from his partner would confirm this, as a shadow passed. Whoever it was, they were fast. Fortunately the fire mage was incredibly fast, bolting through the mountains. A trail of dust left in his wake, he would kick it into gear. His feet moving faster than a normal human could register, the two shadows were dashing across the ground. He could easily tell which one was Haretsa, and which was their opponent. I've gotcha. As the two mages raced across the area, they came across a more forested part of the mountains. He kept his senses fixed on the shadow they were chasing, but it was looking more and more like he would have to use something to stop it. Once they followed it back to their destination, he had an idea of how to stop it. It was not something that he liked to use, but a dark past had given him this ability. He primarily liked to use his fire, and the occasional crash magic. But the Shadows of Anarchy, was a dark ability.

As they got deeper into the forest, the shadow make a break for something covered in the leaves. Stay back Haretsa! I've got this. Taking a deep breath, he activated it. Shadows of Anarchy. Staring at the shadow, he pointed his hand towards it, and it would stop. The man struggled and struggled in his shadow form, but he could not move. He was now under the direct control of Ardere, who had unleashed his shadow manipulation after such a long time. No no. Stay right there. Keeping the man in place, he would walk over to the leaves. Swiping a hand, they were burnt to a crisp with flames. The burnt leaves would reveal a massive hatch, one that appeared to lead underground. Hmm. Shall we look Haretsa? He was about to lift his hand up and knock the shadow man out, but his control was broken as the shadow burst forth and dove into the cracks of the hatch. Dammit! How the? Either his control over shadows was rusty, or that shadow was powerful enough to break his control. Looking to the dragon slayer, he was concerned, but still kept his confidence. They had a dangerous mission ahead of them, but where would it lead?

    - Haretsa

Deeper and deeper into a dense forest did the shadow lead the two Slayers, keeping quite a distance between itself and them. Haretsa felt much faster than she had when she first awakened her shadow magic, but now there was another controller of the shadows that was outrunning her rather effortlessly. She felt as though this individual had to be a Shadow Slayer like her and Ayeseru to be able to swim through the Void in a manner such as this. Haretsa simply hoped that this person wasn’t the Shadow Demon Slayer for the simple fact that dealing with another Shadow Dragon would be easy for her due to her flaming shadows. ”Ugh, I never wanna have to go through what I did trying to eat Ayeseru’s magic… just… bleck. That shit tasted like broccoli.” Haretsa spoke, shaking her head to disperse the thoughts of how bad that taste really was.

While she was distracted, the shadow made a break for a massive pile of leaves. Ardere then called for Haretsa to stay back as he thrust his hand forward and the shadow seemed to come to a complete stop. Haretsa slowed herself and reformed back on the surface, looking on in confusion as she heard Ragna knocking over trees to catch up with them. It seemed as though her guild master was also a Shadow Slayer, but if that were the case then why didn’t he join her in the Void? It had to be some kind of other power, but whatever it was it seemed to work; for a few seconds anyway. After Ardere had burnt the leaves to a crisp and revealed a massive hatch leading underground, the shadow quickly broke free of Ardere’s grasp and slipped underneath a crack in the hatch. Did he consume the shadows that bound him or merely break free with brute strength? It happened too quickly for Haretsa to tell and now they had this hatch standing in the way of catching this kidnapper.

Approaching the hatch with curiosity, Haretsa tried pulling it open to no avail. ”Hmm, a giant metal locked door in the way of two Slayer’s who command fire? I wonder how we’ll EVER get past this?~” Haretsa cracked sarcastically, taking a deep breath as flames gathered within her mouth. ”FIRE DRAGON’S ROAR!” she shouted, leaning her head down and unleashing the blazing plume straight into the door. The flames melted the metal effortlessly and left none of the hatch behind. The terrifying roar of a dragon echoed its way down the hatch and throughout the surrounding hallways, no doubt scaring anyone down there at least a small bit. ”I figured stealth was a bit pointless at this point since the guy knew he was followed.” Haretsa explained as Ragna finally caught up to the Slayers. ”Ragna, stay on full alert out here incase anyone else shows up, got it?” ”You got it! They aint gonna get past me!” ”That’s my boy. Alright, lets kick some ass and save some lives!!” Haretsa exclaimed, jumping down into the hole without hesitation.

Once she had landed, the girls hazel orbs looked around at the eight different hallways that spread out in all directions from her current location. The hallways were somewhat spacious, looking like they would be able to fit three people wide, but it would be a pretty tight squeeze. Fighting in such hallways would be difficult, but decently manageable. ”I wonder how big this place is? We could get lost way too easily in here...which way do you think we should go, Ardvark?”

The popping of his knuckles as he cracked them, Ardere was well prepared to break through the hatch. He could have easily done it with pure strength, or even Crash magic. However the young dragon slayer wished to take control of the situation, and considering she had invited him to this mission he would allow her to do so. There was no point in accompanying her if he did not allow her the opportunity to get stronger. The guild master would stand back as she blasted the door open, his hair flickering slightly. Not only had she blasted it open, it appeared to have melted a majority of the metal itself. A clear opening was now made for the two, and they could descend into the hatch. Well, that'll do it. I'm sure they know we're coming, but we're here and that's all that matters. Leaping forth into the hole, he would land at the bottom of the hatch. The sheer force of their landing was enough to leave a small dent in the concrete ground. It was dark in their current location, but the halls spreading out were lit with not torches, but electrical lighting. If he had to guess, this was some sort of underground facility. Looking down the halls, he took a deep breath before responding to his partner's question. I got a good wiff of his scent, at least what was other than pure shadow. Looking off to one of the halls, he could smell traces of the man they had chased down here.

This way. Swiftly moving through the hall, he paid close attention to their surroundings. The facility they were in did not have many doors, but the lighting was obviously fueled by lacrimas. This was no underground lair, it was almost like a government facility or some sort or lab. Several windows he would pass, most with desks for paper work, but some would have medical equipment. Ardere gritted his teeth slightly as he arched his brows. Was this some sort of underground lab? What the hell is this place? Slowing down his pace, the trail was growing thin. It was likely the man had turned back into his human form, and the scent he was tracking did not have enough traces of the average human or mage scent, it was primarily shadow. I guess we're going on a whim here, but we'll find him. We're on the right path, we just gotta keep going. Foot steps, off in the distance. He could hear foot steps closing in soon, but where from?

The Hunt Continues (The Slayer Project job w/ Ardere) CANAAN

    - Haretsa

It seemed as though Ardere had caught a bit of the man’s scent, so Haretsa followed close to her guild master as he lead the way down one of the many halls. As the two Slayer’s ran down the hall, Haretsa was beginning to feel some serious deja vu the further into the facility they went. The rooms that they passed had windows peering in, revealing some to be merely offices while others had several different medical instruments set up amongst them. This place was beginning to look more and more like the facility that she had been taken too all those years ago. Had Haretsa really stumbled upon another lab for producing Dragon Slayer’s? If that were true, then she feared for the kidnapped families safety. Her and Emilia were the only ones who survived the experiments done to them in that lab, so if this place really was run by those same bastards…

Distracted by her thoughts, Haretsa ended up bumping straight into the back of Ardere as he slowed down his pace. GAH! S-sorry, I kinda got lost in my own thoughts for a bit there…” Haretsa apologized, her ears perking up as she heard footsteps off in the distance. It was difficult to really tell, but it seemed there were quite a few people heading in the direction of the two Slayer’s at a rather moderate pace. It also seemed as though the footsteps were coming from directly in front of them, which meant it was most likely security heading out to deal with the loud noise they heard from Haretsa’s roar. ”Hmmm, how to greet our company…” Haretsa thought aloud, the gears of her mind beginning to spin as she came up with an attack plan. ”Alright, the hallway is narrow enough to the point where one big surprise attack should hit them all. Only problem is we don’t know if what’s coming is an entire group of enemies or some guards transporting some of the kidnapped people…. Uhhh ok! I’ll scout ahead in the shadows, if you feel me move up and down then you’re good to attack, if I move side to side then that’ll mean no. Then I can move around them and sandwich em all if it is the enemy. Keep your senses on me!” Haretsa whispered as she delved into the Void.

Proceeding through the shadows of the hallway, Haretsa made it to the group and froze in place to analyze them. The group consisted of four scientists that were accompanied by three armed guards. One of them possessed a shotgun with a pistol holstered at his side, another carried a variety of different throwing knives, and the last guard carried a collection of different types of grenades. "This is absurd. Just because Mathias was followed doesn't mean we can't fend off these intruders ourselves. We're more than just mere scientists!" one of the scientists complained, causing one guard to sigh. "We get that, but you're all too important to the success of this project. We can't have you fighting with intruders on your own; especially when it threatens our paycheck." the guard explained as they continued down the hallway. Haretsa then began to move rapidly up and down, giving her guild master the ok to commence the surprise attack.

Unsheathing the bastard sword known as Clarent, Ardere cracked his knuckles as they wrapped around the handle. Gripping the sword tight, he kept his senses aware. Looking to Haretsa, she seemed to have a plan of sorts. Due to his speed and fire power, it was likely he could instantly take them out in one fell swoop, but he would await for Haretsa's word. As long as you're good, I have faith in you. So let's do this. Listening to the rest of her explanation, his posture relaxed a bit. While he was waiting, his body was not tense or nervous. I'll wait for your signal. Throwing his blade over his shoulder, he would pat it against his armor slightly. No damage would be dealt to the armor at the angle he tapped it against. It was more of a leisured movement. Taking a deep breath, the guild master closed his eyes for a mere moment before gathering himself. Orange orbs now visible, he gripped his sword with both hands. Able to hear the words being spoken by the men, he was under the assumption that this Mathias was the one in charge around here. If anyone was going to go after him, it would certainly be the flame god slayer. However if Haretsa had her own reservations, he would not interfere. If that were the case, he would take out as many of the guards as possible.

Dashing forward, the fire mage slashed his blade in a horizontal motion. Flame God's Infernal Swipe. Unleashing a wave of black flames once his body passed Haretsa, all of his enemies would be caught in the flames increased in power by his tattoos. The men were knocked back, stumbling around. Burnt and battered, he took the flat side of his blade to all of their heads with an intense speed they could not match. Within a matter of seconds, all of the men both scientists and guards were knocked out. Sheathing his blade, the Samurai looked over to a shadow and smirked. I guess that does it, let's keep moving. Stretching his arms, the two would now pass a series of labs. They were empty, but he could hear talking off in the distance. Voices of discontent and fear echoing throughout the hall, he was sure the dragon slayer could hear them as well. An ominous feeling grew over his heart. Something sinister was at work here, and it was their duty to prevent it from continuing and from ever happening again. Whatever experiments were occurring down here, they had to be stopped. Looking at some scratch marks across the walls, he gathered that not all of their "subjects" took it very well. Tch. Passing through one of the labs to get to the next hall, he gazed upon several test tubes of mysterious liquids, among many other medical tools. This was no ordinary lab.

The Hunt Continues (The Slayer Project job w/ Ardere) CANAAN

    - Haretsa

The sight that played out before Haretsa’s eyes was rather difficult for the young Dragon Slayer to comprehend. She had only managed to blink once and in that instant all five of the men were being burnt by the all too familiar black flames as well as being smacked upside the head with the flatside of Ardere’s blade. Haretsa had honestly not seen such a display of power and speed before and it was honestly rather absurd. ”Jeez… leave some fun for me next time, will ya?” Haretsa commented, hopping out of the shadows and continuing down the hallway with her guild master. The two Slayer’s passed by a number of empty labs with several voices filled with fear could be heard faintly echoing throughout the halls of the facility. What really got Haretsa’s attention were the strange scratch marks along the walls and windows of the empty labs. These scratches were incredibly deep into metal and glass, so they were from something much more than merely fingernails…

Entering into one of the labs to get to the next section of hallway, Haretsa’s nose picked up on a scent she hadn’t smelled in years. The scent was coming from a rack of test tubes that were filled with a mysterious liquid of various different colors. Seeing these liquids, inhaling their scent, and looking around to see more of the marks along the walls put the final nail in the coffin of Haretsa’s fear of what this place really was. The Dragon Slayer’s mind became flooded with the flashbacks from her time in that dreaded laboratory ten years ago. The intense amount of pain her body had gone through and the fits of outrage she would have due to it all; leaving deep claw marks of a dragon along the walls as well as melting through some of the metal. There was no mistaking what this place was now. ”A-Ardvark…” she stuttered, gripping her head in pain with widened hazel eyes. ”I… I know what this place is… It’s another… facility… for making Dragon Slayers… like me… I can’t ever forget the rancid smell of that… stuff.” she spoke, pointing to the liquids that were in the test tubes. ”Emi and I were the only ones who survived the tests in that place… S-So, the people who were kidnapped… m-might be...be…” Haretsa paused, choking up on her own memories of meeting so many different people in that place and watching them not come back the very next day.

Trailing his fingers across the walls and observing test tubes, Ardere let a heavy sigh escape his lips. Bending over to pick up some papers, he flipped through them as his partner gave the room a better look. It was a list of names, and tests they would be put under. He did not quite understand it as he would need to read more, but from what he could gather they were physical tests, to test one's endurance and strength among many other things. Closing the folders, he was aware of their objective now. They had to save as many people as they could, and rid the world of this place. He was unsure of what to truly call it, but it would not matter by the end of the day. Walking over to Haretsa, they stood by the test tubes. They were injecting people with these serums, the effects on their body could be unpredictable from what he could tell in the files. Tossing them onto the counter, he placed a hand on the young lady's shoulder. It'll be alright, we'll get out as many people as we can. With a reassuring look, he removed his hand from her shoulder. But first, we need to take out these guards and the scientists. Hopefully we can find their leader as well. Gathering his thoughts, he gave her a moment before exiting the room.

The guild master checked down the halls, they were clear for the moment. Holding his hand up to stop his partner, he put it back down to signal they could continue. Off in the distance, he could hear mumbling, which would soon turn to yelling. There ere two sets of voices, one was in distress while the other seemed to be calm and discussing. It was sickening to think that they would to this to people who didn't even volunteer for it. Unsheathing the red bastard sword on his back, Ardere ran his fingers across the walls. Feeling some of the scratch marks, he remembered his convictions. Be careful, let's take them by surprise if possible. But there's people in there, so no big explosions. Dashing towards the room, he moved on the tips of his toes to avoid making a ruckus. His intense speed would help this, and hopefully their goal would not be hard to accomplish. They did not have much time, if someone was being experimented on, there was a chance they would not make it out.

The Hunt Continues (The Slayer Project job w/ Ardere) CANAAN

    - Haretsa

The cream haired young girl let out a heavy sigh as she felt her guild master’s hand upon her shoulder. She knew that his words were true and that together the two Slayer’s would save as many of these people as they could. If the events that transpired in Talonia against the Priory had taught her anything, it was that it was impossible to be able to save everyone like she wanted. While this was difficult for Haretsa to accept, it was simply a sad fact of life that she had no choice but to accept. There was no way for her to be able to protect everyone in Fiore, but that wasn’t about to stop her from protecting as many people as she possibly could.

After Ardere had given the girl some time to gather her thoughts, the two mages quickly made their way down a new hallway. Haretsa’s ears quickly picked up on a group of voices that only grew louder the further down the hallway they went. One group of voices sounded collectively distressed while the other group shared a tone of calm authority. Watching as Ardere drew the bastard sword from his back, Haretsa quickly pressed the jewel at the center of the bracelet adorning her left wrist; causing her armor to activate and surround her entire body with a burnt orange glow. She then threw her arms down to both sides, watching as the gauntlets she upgraded Blamo into unfolded into their full combat forms as Ardere mentioned to keep the people being held captive in mind. ”Right. I’ll handle the guards if there are any, you deal with the scientists and see if you can interrogate one of them to find out where their leaders hiding. It’s probably best if you do that since… I don’t know how well I’ll hold back. Haretsa mentioned, slipping into the Void and creeping her way into the room through the shadows.

Once inside the room, Haretsa identified three guards standing on alert with two scientists overlooking a crowd of about twenty scared individuals. She also noted that several of these people were heavily experimented on, some of them having scales running down their arms, some with horns growing out of their heads, while others even had dragon like wings and tails All these things were extremely familiar to the young Dragon Slayer, as she could recall her body going through all of those different mutations and the pain she went through trying to suppress them into the body of a child. Seeing these people like this simply served to fan the flames of Haretsa’s anger as she dropped down from the ceiling and landed with a loud thud against the steel floor. She glared up at the three guards as her eyes flashed over to a crimson red before a steady stream of flames blasted out of her back and propelled her towards the armed men. Pulling back her right arm, the Dragon Slayer delivered a swift punch to the face of one of the guards; causing a powerful blast to rocket out of the barrel on her gauntlets and send the man careening through the window out into the hallway. Grabbing the closest guard to her, Haretsa quickly tossed the man out the window as well. The remaining guard had enough time to draw his knife and thrust it straight into Haretsa’s back, but this merely caused the blade to bend and break against the protective glow that enveloped her body. Without a word Haretsa swiftly grabbed the man by the throat and drove him straight through the door of the room; bringing her fight out into the hallway and leaving the scientists as well as the citizens stunned and confused for a few moments as to what was happening.

Blamo Right Arm Ammo: 4/5 remaining.

So you can throw me to the wolves
    Tomorrow I will come back
    Leader of the whole pack
    Beat me black and blue
    Every wound will shape me
Every scar will build my throne

Nodding to the young dragon slayer, he gripped the handle of his Crimson blade tightly. A heavy sigh escaping his pale lips, Ardere disappeared for a moment. Using his full speed, he would dash past the guards too allow Haretsa to deal with them. Before the pair of scientists could even react, he had already slashed his blade across their stomachs. They were tough, but blood would be drawn as they stumbled backwards. Hmm. One of the two would roll backwards into a portal, disappearing to god knows where. Rather than freaking out and wondering where the hell the man was, the fire mage kept his senses tuned. The hairs on his neck would stand up as he felt a presence behind him, one of magical proportions. With his increased reaction time, it was easy to turn around and smack him aside with the flat edge of his blade. Meanwhile, his companion was forming a rather large amount of poison in his glove covered hands. Gushing purple poison, mixed with a bit of green. Just by the rancid smell, he could tell it was highly toxic. The room began to feel strange with the venomous gas that now began to pour in. Rather than waiting around to find out what would happen, he ignited the poison. Flame God's Crashing Wave. Holding one of the scientists down with his blade, he would lift up his hand. Ripping black flames from under the ground, the wave of them would ignite the poison. Rather than creating a massive explosion, it would ignite the existing poison. Creating a small explosion outwards, the combination of this and his wave of flame bellowing towards the man would knock him against the wall.

Repeatedly punching and smacking with the back of his sword, he would knock out the man he was holding. Walking over to the one knocked back by his own poison, the tapping of his heavy boots was almost startling. Ardere walked ever so slowly, sauntering over to the man. Crouching down, his armor covered body still towered over the man. Pointing the tip of his blade to a very visible vein on his pale neck, his voice was calm. Now. Tell me where to find the man running this operation. The scientist snarled, spitting some blood onto the ground. I'm not telling you shit! Leather covered fingers wrapped around the man's throat, requiring very little pressure to stop his breathing. I don't like torturing people, but I can't say the same for you. Now tell me where this man is, and his name would be nice. Choking and struggling, the man fought for a few moments before conceding to the obviously in control fire mage. Al-Alright! The grip being released, he gasped for air repeatedly. His n-n-name is Mathias. He's down one level and towards the back, but you'll never make it there. Special security is waiting for you. You're far too late, our experiments have already been do- Rather than sitting around and listening to his squabbling, the guild master chose to knock him out. Sighing heavily, his orange eyes looked on towards the men and women being experiment on, prisoners of sorts. Let's get them out of here.

"Behold, the intricate and subtle weaving of my cunning arcane . . . ah, screw it. Burn a lot!"

The Hunt Continues (The Slayer Project job w/ Ardere) CANAAN

    - Haretsa

Looking upon her prey sprawled out on their backs with a rather menacing look painted upon her features, the cream haired Dragon Slayer cracked her knuckles aggressively as she began to walk forward towards the three men. The man she had dragged through the door quickly sprang to his feet and simply looked at Haretsa for but a moment. He knew all too well that his knives were completely ineffective due to the glowing aura that surrounded the girl, so he immediately began to run full speed down the hallway away from Haretsa. ”Where the hell do you think you’re going?!” one of the other guards called out to him, struggling to get back to his feet after being blasted through the window so forcefully. ”THIS IS WAY BEYOND MY PAYGRADE, I’M GETTIN THE HELL OUT OF HERE!!” he shouted back, which only caused Haretsa’s menacing grin to grow. ”It’s always more fun when they try to run…” she murmured before unleashing another steady stream of flames out of her back; propelling herself down the hallway at alarming speeds and straight for the man who was trying to flee. Once she was near to the man’s position, Haretsa stretched out her right arm and grasped the man by the back of the neck before forcefully driving his face down into the floor. The force of this blow easily broke the man’s nose and rendering the poor fool completely unconscious.

Haretsa slowly pulled the man back up and turned to face the other two, holding their unconscious friend towards them as she slowly proceeded forward down the dimly lit hallway. ”Oh, don’t worry about him. You should be much more concerned about what I’m going to do to you!” she exclaimed, hurling the unconscious body towards the other two as they were standing up before rushing them down. As the body hit the guard on the far left, the remaining one slung his assault rifle off his shoulder and began to unload the magazine down the hall. The bullets were simply standard cartridges, so all they managed to do was bounce harmlessly off of Haretsa’s glowing armor as she closed the distance. Immediately throwing an uppercut with her right arm, Haretsa planted her fist square into the man’s chin; forcing him upward and causing him to drop his weapon to the floor. On his way up, Haretsa quickly grabbed his leg with her right hand and swung the man around; driving him face first into a nearby wall. Quickly switching her hands to keep the fool in place, Haretsa then brought her right foot leg up and slammed her thigh into the back of the man’s neck; causing the wall in that area to crack a bit.

Watching the man’s body slink down to the ground, Haretsa punted his halpless body away as she heard a familiar clanking at her feet. Looking down, her crimson orbs spotted seven grenades at her feet that were ready to blow. The sudden explosion was rather large and shook much of the surrounding area; the remaining guard’s laugh echoing throughout at the site of the glorious fireball. ”How do you like that, ya little witch!?” the man laughed, though his expression changed from joy to one of fear. The fireball quickly began to swirl around as if it were being sucked into a vacuum; revealing Haretsa to be standing there completely unharmed and sucking in the flames with several pieces of shrapnel stuck into her armor. With the flames gone, the young girl let out a rather large belch before turning her attention to the last remaining guard. ”Thank you ma’am, may I have another?” she asked, pressing the jewel in the center of her left bracelet to deactivate the armor and cause all the shrapnel to fall before activating it once more. ”Y-Y-You’re not human… Yo-You’re a bloody demon!!”[/color] the man shouted in fear as Haretsa blasted her way over to the man, wrapping her left hand firmly about his neck before slamming him up against a wall. ”Correction, I’m a dragon.” Haretsa spoke, another menacing smile growing upon her face as she tightened her grip even more; causing the man to struggle for air. ”Yes, watch the life drain from his eyes before you burn their bodies to ashes!” a familiar voice laughed inside of the girls mind, causing her eyes to widen as she blinked somewhat confused. ”W-what? No, they don’t need to die… they’re just hired goons…” Haretsa managed to stutter out. She immediately loosened her grip on the man’s throat and grabbed onto her left arm in pain as a light blue light began to dimly glow from underneath her hand wrap. ”They’re involved with these people you hate, aren’t they? Then of course they deserve to be destroyed!! That’s what your magic is good for. That’s why that guild master of yours gave you the title of Destruction. As my daughter, you were born to destroy, so let loose and do it!!” the voice commanded, ringing loudly throughout Haretsa’s mind as the remaining guard took this opportunity to flee for his life. The light underneath her hand wrap began to glow even brighter, causing Haretsa to slam her left arm defiantly in anger against the wall next to the lab where Ardere and the captive people worth. ”STOP CALLING ME YOUR DAUGHTER!!” she shouted angrily, gripping her left arm even more as the light blue light was now shining rather brightly. It wasn’t exactly intentional, but due to her hatred of the people who worked here and what they had done to her and countless other people; Haretsa knew she was going to have to finally explain to someone about the blood that flowed through her veins. ”I’m gonna have to tell Ardvark about this… it’s too dangerous for me to be here with innocent people around. I don’t wanna end up hurting the people we’re trying to save…” she thought, beginning to tear up at the thought before quickly shaking her head to regain some composure.

    I am the fire
    I am burning brighter
    Roaring like a storm
And I am the one I've been waiting for
    Screaming like a siren
    Alive and burning brighter

Eyes widening slightly, Ardere guided the civilians down the hall and directed them towards the exit. Head that way and you guys should be safe, I'll make sure to get them back for what they did to you. Take care. The men and women thanked him, before running off back towards the exit. Considering they had taken men out along the way, they should encounter no resistance. Unfortunately before they could continue, the fire mage turned to his partner. Are you alright? She had called out something before, but he wasn't exactly sure what she meant by that. It was possible some sort of psychic or telepathic interference was occurring. If you're good, we need to find Mathias before he escapes. We stopped their experiments and they are sure to be pissed about that. Assuming her response was positive, he would look off down the hall. They had the rest of this level and one more to traverse before this would be over. Grabbing the handle of his crimson blade tightly, alongside his partner, he dashed towards the end of the hall. He could hear men rushing up, apparently there would be resistance before they got downstairs. He was certain that the special security they had mentioned would be coming. They were not special mages, but a certain feeling took over his mind that they were not the strongest enemies that were certain to be encountered.

Raking his blade across the wall, some sparks scattered across the floor before he sighted the company they would be enjoying. A group of men and scientists were coming upstairs, most definitely to intercept them. From what he could tell, the civilians had made it out. Their scent began to fade and the sounds of their foot steps were mere echoes. The opposite could be said for the men dashing his way, as Ardere prepared himself for battle. Hopefully Haretsa was sound of mind, at least enough to fight. You've got this, just clear your mind. Whatever it is, you can overcome it. Now kick their asses as if your life depends on it, because in a way it does. A reassuring smirk crossing his pale lips, the fight had only just begun. Tightening his grip on the blade, a black aura shimmered across his toned pale body. Darkening the color of his skin almost, he had become a dark flame. Inferno Drive. His speed and strength increasing, it was as if a dark blur was rushing down the hall.
