Truth be told, the mansion was quite nice from the outside. With white marble pillars, etched into a fashion much like an ancient culture of old, and a lovely garden out front filled with crepe myrtles and cherry blossoms, it was almost as if it belonged on a post card instead of standing right in front of the Hispanic woman. However, she and her guild mate had not come to be sight seeing and frolicking in the affluent streets of Minstrel--unfortunately, as there were plenty of things to do, even if it was taxing on their wallets--instead, they were here on a job, courtesy of the Musketeers. As a frequent traveler before her time in the Black Rose guild, Kistiñe had stopped in Minstrel on multiple occasions going to and from her various other destinations. While she had never stayed long enough in the country to find out for herself, it was quite obvious from stories of fellow travelers that the Musketeers were some of the finest mages this part of the world had--why they didn't just do the job themselves was beyond her...but, they had covered their travel expenses, so it wasn't a total waste. The details she had glanced at on the way into the country revealed that a resident millionaire had gotten himself kidnapped and locked in his own mansion by some dark mages from Fiore--lovely. Perhaps it was because the perpetrators were from Fiore that the Musketeers decided they needed an extra hand...or thought that it was a problem for Fioran mages to deal with.

Dressed in her usual faded jeans, t-shirt, and grey jacket, the Latina stood across the street from the mansion and wondered where Astrid had slipped off to...and, for that matter, where the Musketeers that were supposed to be meeting them were at. It was almost noon--more or less when they had said to meet up--but there was no sight of them at that moment. With a sigh, Kistiñe leaned her back against a newspaper stand while she waited.

    I'M A CREATURE
of a culture that I create

Unfortunately for Kistine, she had managed to partner up with someone who had the attention span equivalent to that of a small chipmunk. It hadn't take Astrid long before she had been caught up in the hustle and bustle of the large town. Still somewhat naive to how the world actually worked it hadn't taken much to suck her in and separate her from the Hispanic woman. Stopping to look at some of the architecture of some of the magnificently sculpted buildings, bumping into some of the fast moving people walking and then apologizing for making them lose time... Which would then make them just lose even more time as she did, and the thing she was doing right now. Deciding on which crepe flavor to buy.
She had never tasted a crepe before. Though she had developed quite the sweet tooth over the years it was not something you came so easily across back in her small hometown. The best you could hope for was the normal cookies or muffins. And even at that normally you had to make them yourself. The town had been so far away from almost any other village or city that getting anything that couldn't be grown from a seed or produced from an animal was practically impossible. Maybe that's why she was drawn to such things. Unlike most big city dwellers she had never been exposed to what could be described as schemes of big companies who just wanted to make money or the easiness of going to a food cart and ordering for fast food services. She had no immunity to such things. So when a a big man was calling out to buy his cheep sweets of course she would be pulled in.

"Ya goin' to actually buy somethin', missy? Or are ya plannin' to hold up my business all day?" The somewhat chubby man mumbled down in a strange, thick accent that was too foreign for the girl to even try and guess where he was from. Maybe the south? Though she had never been there herself, so she wouldn't know, nor would ask.
Sapphire eyes traveled slowly across the toppings displayed behind the plastic covering of the small cart, taking in all of the choices available to her. Strawberries... Raspberries... Chocolate... Sugar... Blueberries... Bananas... There were just too many, and they were all something she wanted. How could she pick just a few? Every time she thought she had figured it out she would open her mouth and smile triumphantly, only to turn back into a frown as she went back to the toppings, slim eyebrows furrowed as she would go back into her deep thoughts.
This caused the seller to become obvious annoyed, grumbling something about woman and not being able to make simple choices as his foot tapped upon the paved ground.

"One of everything, please~" A sing-song voice would pipe up from behind Astrid, causing both her and the seller to whip their heads around to spot the voice who requested such a big and daunting order.
It wasn't just one person, as she was expecting it to be. But rather, three good-looking woman. One blonde, one brunette, and one red head. The blonde one stood in front, hands on her hips as the other two stood behind her, offering delicate smiles. Each wore a similar green outfit. A bit old-time-y, with feathered hats, thigh high boots, and capes draped across their backs. Perhaps they were all from some kind of weird organization... They looked a little like the Musketeers from those old stories she use to read... Wait, what was the job's description again?
The blonde was the one who came forward, giving a still dazed Astrid a friendly smile and wink before she pulled out a small sack from her pocket, placing it on the clear top of the cart, making it jingle as the jewels inside shifted to fit the movement.
    "For the little lady."

    ....

"We're so sorry again for making you and your friend wait" the brunette apologized for maybe the fourth time since they started walking, giving a clap of her hands and held them together as if to empathizes the meaning of it.
Astrid, holding onto two of the crepes the girls had bought for both her and Kistine, continued to chew on her own pastry, nibbling upon the end of one of the red strawberries poking out of the top.

"It's okay, i should be thanking you. If you weren't there i might still be looking at toppings." The musician admitted sheepishly, a small blush covering her pale face from embarrassment. She felt a bit bad for taking so long that their own clients had to pay for her meal in order for her to move onto the job. But when she offered to pay them back they refused, saying a mage who was going to help their dear friend had no need to do so. There was little she could do about it. At least they finally found them.
Well, somewhat found them. They just needed to find where Kistine was now... She hoped the older wizard wouldn't be too mad at her for getting lost.

It was safe to say that Kistiñe wasn’t necessarily mad about the wait incurred by Astrid’s chipmunk-like attention span—the Latina had been the same way when she was younger—but given the job at hand, it was understandable that she may have been a little annoyed. Despite that small bit of annoyance with the teenager’s apparent ADD, it was understandable for someone to get caught up in the wonders of the city if they weren’t careful. With all of the hustle and bustle, the sights and the sounds, and the allure of anonymitiy that the city provided, it was hard to resist the siren song that was constantly playing in the minds of anyone who visited. It was no surprise why many came to the urban world to forget their pasts or to live in the night light—they could be anyone they wanted, and no one would ever ask any questions...however, in Astrid’s case, it seemed what had caused her to wander so far from the older girl was an insatiable sweet tooth. The olive-skinned dame noticed the entourage that Astrid—holding a paper bag, presumably full of the same type of pastry she was munching on—had surrounding her as she finally appeared out of the crowd on the sidewalk.

For a moment, she had to mentally remind herself that the women in the green cloaks were highly trained mages that more than likely wouldn’t tolerate being flirted with...but, who would blame the Latina for trying? Although she was clearly bisexual, she still retained a clear preference for the ladies, and the ladies that were going to be helping her and Astrid on their job were a trio of cuties. While all of them were gorgeous, Kistiñe had an eye for brunettes. However, none of that particularly mattered at the moment since she had been too caught up in her own day dreams to say anything as they walked by, and they apparently did not notice her standing in the sidewalk. Upon noticing this, the Latina made her fingers into the shape of an “OK” and stuck them in her mouth to deliver a sharp whistle and get their attention.

“¡Oi, chicas!” she said. One of them—the red head—turned and noticed, saying something to the others before they met up.

“You’re that other Black Rose mage, right?” the red head asked.

“Sí..er, yes,” she said, giving a small laugh, “Where did you find Astrid?”

This time, the blonde responded. Her voice was chipper, and almost gave the impression that she was a ditz or an airhead.

“Oh, you mean this little cutie?” she asked, gesturing to the younger mage, “We found this silly goose window shopping at the bakery. Poor baby couldn’t decide what flavor she wanted, so we bought her one of everything~”

The amount of sugar in the woman’s voice made Kistiñe want to gag, but it was very likely that the blonde, like each of the green-clad women in front of her, was trained to some of the finest standards outside of Fiore. However, that still didn’t help the fact that the blonde was being somewhat stereotypical in how she was talking.

Rolling her eyes, the Hispanic mage turned her gaze over to her silver-haired guild mate. Although she had an incredibly thin temper most of the time, Kistiñe found it hard to get mad in this particular instance...although it was hard to tell whether it was because she didn’t want to make a scene in front of potential dates, or if she was hungry because she skipped breakfast.

With a small laugh, the Latina asked her guild mate, “How are the sweets?”

Still continuing to nibble on the sweet pastry held firmly in her one hand the girl stood there as the girls chattered, blue eyes looking back and forth as each of them spoke, listening as she enjoyed the sugary flavor of the crepe. At least Kistine wasn't mad at her about getting lost and wandering around the city just for some sweets. People were usually annoyed by her easily distracted nature to the point where they normally scolded her for it. Kistine was one of the few who didn't get visibly annoyed by it, which Astrid appreciated. After all getting yelled at for being who you were was never something that left you with a good feeling. It would make anyone guilty, and normally left Astrid with a heavy weight on her chest. No one could help who they were, and she was someone who had a very short attention span. Though she would love to change it, it couldn't be helped. At least she couldn't figure out how to change it other than concentrating very hard to not do it. But of course if something like that was that easy everyone would do it.

When asked about how the pastry was Astrid blinked lazily once at the Latina, lifting up the bag in her other hand which held the taller mage's crepe, holding it close to her chest.
"Ish goosh" The female removed the crepe from her face and answered back with a mouth full of cream, a small smile forming upon her thin lips. Deep optics rolling down to her nose as she felt a lingering coldness the silver haired girl noticed some some of whipped cream had managed to pour onto her lips and nose. Getting a good look at where the cream was on her face the musician began to lick off the spots that were close enough to get to, mostly the ones that surrounded her mouth. However when it came to her nose, though she tried her hardest, she couldn't seem to reach it with her tongue. It simply wasn't long enough. But still she continued, trying what seemed to be her hardest as her calm expression turned to that with great concentration, eyebrows furrowed as she wiggled her nose in hopes of getting the substance off with her tongue power alone.

The three ladies shared confused gazes, each shrugging with a small laughs and awkward smiles.
"If anything she sure is... Determined. Which is good seeing what this job is after all..." The red spoke up with her deep toned voice, arms crossing her chest.
The other two shared cheerful gaze at each other, clearly amused by Astrid's quest to get the cream off her face.
