Devon's B rank exam

Devon's Primary Objective for Exam: Gaining control over her Demonic powers. While this sounds easy there is the possibility of death. Fifteen post minimum with two hundred and fifty words per post. Side note: There cannot be any outside interference within this exam due to the event of the exam take place within Devon's soul since it is an internal issue they she must face on her own. A Demonic shade will appear during this exam and attempt to trick Devon into giving up her body.

Standing alown in her room Devon gased into the mirror standing against one of the plain walls with no pictures her room showed  how lonely Devon really was, her normal human for reflecting back at hera soft smile on her lips as she thought about how she looked like her mother, Devon's hand lay softly on a necklaces she was given it by Daemon. Devon's cheeks reddened at the memory of that day and of everything that happened since. Devon had isolated herself since that day from everyone but daemon a fear of the necklaces's power failing and everyone seeing her now true form. Devon worried about what they would say what they would do, she worried about her mother finding out and sending people to kill her after all she was meant to be an angle not a demon.

Sighing softly Devon turned away from the mirror a tear rolled down her cheek the only reason she still looked like herself was because of the necklace she wondered how hard it would be to control the new side of her. Devon smiled lightly taking off the necklace she did not want to destroy the item just the opposite she wished to keep it after all if someone close to you gives you something even if it was to help you contain the new beast inside you should not just throw it away.

Devon sighted softly tilting her head she wondered why the change was not happening she thought that once she had removed the necklaces she would turn but it looked like that was not so. sighing softly Devon lifted the necklaces from its resting point and walked out of her room keeping to shadows Devon walked through the guild thankfully unseen. Arriving at Daemon's door Devon toke a deep breath and raised her hand tapping on the wooden door and waited for promition to enter.

Daemon was moving carefully around his room a he drew a very complex array of seals and barriers. A slight sheen of sweat appeared on his body  as he took of his shirt and threw it on his bed in the corner. Daemon had been up all night researching his fathers notes on helping a hanyou  control the demon within them. While Daemon could protect the outside world of the demon's influence during the ritual he could not protect the individual. The ritual forced the Hanyou to go into a coma like state for four days as they faced off against the demon. The Coma like state was to prevent the Hanyou from harming themselves or breaking through the Barriers and killing the Practitioner.

Daemon finished the seals and began to place the talismans in the four cardinal directions. These talismans needed to be placed precisely so they can absorb the raw demonic energy that will leak out of the Hanyou. This raw demonic energy is highly poisonous and was as lethal as it was corrosive. Should the demonic energy escape it would easily kill Genbu and rot the guild hall into a state of complete disrepair.

Daemon smiled softly to himself and placed the final talisman on the floor when he heard a knock on his door behind him. "Come on in Devon I've just completed the final touches for the ritual."  He said with a calm voice as he slowly stood up  and wiped the sweat from his brow with his automail claw.

Devon smiled almost forcefully her hand laid lightly on the door of coarse Daemon knew she would be coming he did after all know her quite well better than anyone else in the guild in fact. Taking a long deep breath Devon pushed on the wooden door and entered the office her smile softened turning genuine the moment her eyes connected with Daemon glancing at the floor as she blushed Devon she tilted her head slightly her eyes drifted moving up the body then she got to his back. taking a quick and sudden step forward her hand reached out Devon wanted to touch the marks to heal them to ask how they came to be, her smile had faded only one step was taken before Devon remembered her place and parsed bowing low "hello Daemon sir, thank you for letting me enter!" she said she stayed bowed for a moment before straightening up.

Devon's eyes looked at Daemon's back the scars that lay there she started to wonder if it happened when he was trying to control the demon that was inside him. the scars almost scared her and she shivered softly she was worried that something worse would happen to her.

looking up at Daemon's head "its good to see you again sir!" she said cautious she was not shore how to act around Daemon any more not after what happened that day and after that kiss and those compliments, Devon smirked softly blushing at the memory and waited for Daemon to inform her on what to do know.

Daemon smiled softly and walked over to Devon and gave her a light peck on the cheek as he lead her to the center of the seal and proceeded to step out side of the array. Daemon turned to her and calmly asked "Don't die on me okay it would kind of ruin our chances for a relationship" a smirk graced his face as he instructed her to lay down while he slowly closed his eyes. Lady Luna I ask you for thy power." He said as silvery aura slowly began to emanate from his body.

Guardian beasts of the four gates lend this child your strength and light their way through the abyss created by the demon within them and help them control said demon. " As Daemon chanted the room began to grow dark as the seal started to glow brilliantly as a barrier began to slowly form around Devon's body.

Oh tormented soul prepare as the gateways opens before you as your inner malice lashes out in violent fury. May the goddess protect you ." He said as he pulled out a staff with and struck it down to the floor with a thunderous slam as the barrier was finished forming sending Devon into her own soul .

Scene Break.

The Demonic shade flew through Devon's soul with it's powerful bat like wings as it looked to find any trace of fear that it may use against it's host so that it might take over her body. With a devilish grin it noticed that it's host had a rather strong fear of her mother and felt that it could use that to it's advantage. The shade flew down and landed on the clear surface that made up the ground and proceeded to transform into an image of Devon's mother.

Devon Smiled softly "that promise of something between us will give me a reason to come back!" she said softly kissing Daemons cheek softly she laughed lightly Devon laid down in the seal "look after my body I will be back!" she said winking playfully she closed her eyes she relaxed and toke a deep breath. Devon's mind just kept thinking of Daemon and she smiled.

on opening them it looked like she stood in a misty so thick she could not see more than ten feet away from her sighing f=softly Devon looked around quickly this place seemed so creepy as her body shook slightly Devon sor the figure someone through the mist "Daemon is that you I thought I wound be...." her sentence was cut short and her eyes widened Devon toke a step back "impossibly you hate this earth you would never come down off your pedestal!" Devon Seemed to be speaking more to herself as she toke a step back.

Devon stoke her head as she looked intently into this persons eyes "you can not be my mother, she would never come this soon after a change in events!" she stated Devon sounded more confident that she felt her hands stoke as she stood there and her mind raced if only she could still contate the angelic beings she could find out if her mother was still up there but then Devon remembered she was in her soul and she had that right taken from her when she was banished, Devon smirked softly "besides even my mother dose not have the power to come into my soul so tell me who are you?" she asked softly still not quit shore if anything was real or not.

The Demonic shade while in the form of Devon's mother began to laugh darkly as it slowly shifted back into it's true form as it towered over the girl in a rather intimidating perspective. standing seven foot tall it smirked at the woman in front of it. "I admit that was a poor choice perhaps I shouldn't have used a form that you would so easily reject. I am Kotetsu one of the demon kings of Yomi ." The dark lord said the only actual true thing he would say during this little excursion.

Kotetsu stared at Devon before sitting down in front of her and stared at her eyes examining every thought and memory. with a grin the demon used it's power to distort the world around them as they land around them became an exact copy of Devon's former home before her banishment. the dark lord smirked and proceed to vanish into nothingness. "Enjoy this little gift."

(OCC: I've read Devon's Character sheet for this though there will be a slight difference. )

Countless angelic and demonic fairies flew around the area as Kotetsu completely vanished Devon's sister ran up to her and hugged her happily. DEVON your home I missed you so much !" She sad as she cried into Devon's shoulder.

Scene Break

Daemon is sitting in his room patiently as he drank calmly from a small gourd filled with sake as he sighed noticing the magatama's glow begin to fade as Devon's body slowly slipped back into her demonic form. Daemon walked over to the barrier and strengthened the seal by placing four talismans in the southwest , southeast, northwest and northeast positions as Miasma began to leak out of Devon's body before floating around inside the barrier . This could be a problem.

Devon smiled softly her head tilted "you obviously did not look deep enough I will beat whatever you are I will see through it all do you know why? Because of this one person back home this one man who I will go back to!" Devon was surprised at how shore she was and that made her realise her own feelings to her guildmaster.

Smiling softly she looked down at the demon and laughs softly "ow I will!" she said this more to herself than to the demon as he vanished in the fog.

Devon's eyes widened as she was confronted with the home she thought she could never see again a home she thought there was no return, her life was now set out she had plans this place was her past at least that's what she thought. Being griped from behind Devon froze her sister no that cant be her sister had not been there since there birth so many years ago.

"S...Sis.... Sister how, how are you here in this place if mother sore you she will not be pleased!" she stated a tear ran down her cheek she was speaking to a spitting image of herself she wanted to embrace her sister so bad the missing half to her self but Devon was inshore was this place real or just a face image that demon had put in place to play games with her. Devon shoke slightly as she looked around more "is this real or just my dream!" she said in a whisper to herself her hands shock violently as she clenched her fists harder trying to make herself hert to bleed that was the only way to know for shore.

Devon's sister Mia proceeded to gasp as she saw blood dripping from Devon's palms. While this was simply a product of the illusion created by the demon lord. Devon your hands !" The illusionary version of her sister screamed as she took out a cloth and proceeded to try and wipe away the illusionary blood. "Where have you been sister father has been so worried about you?" Mia asked as she smiled innocently at her loving sister as she lead Devon through the streets to their home where a middle aged man with jet black and purple wings stood at the doorway. The man smiled and proceeded to fly to the girls and hold them in his arms. Welcome home girls." Unbeknownst to Devon a voice was calling out to her during  the hug.

Scene break  a few minutes earlier

Daemon was struggling to maintain the barrier  as wisps of Miasma passed through causing the talismans to burn slightly. With a growl Daemon got up and rushed towards the seal before slamming his fist to the ground sending a powerful surge of cosmic energy into the seal Causing the burning Talismans to shine a radiant light purifying them and causing the miasma to vanish from the room. Daemon began to sweat a bit with a slight raspy breath as he slowly stood up and proceeded to strengthen the barrier around Devon's body hoping to help her by sending a small amount of his energy into her necklace. While this didn't allow Daemon to physically enter Devon's soul or ever project an astral form  but theoretically  his voice could reach her. Devon you have to be careful the demon will use more than just your fears to control you. It will use everything you hope to become real.

Devon shock she was so unsure of everything there was blood so it could not be just a dream but her sister had been banished from this place how could it be. Devon allowed her to wipe the blood from her parm her body was numb and her eyes where distant she did not care what was happening what she did care about was how she would fight something she had longed for since before she  could even remember.  when Mia said about father Devon's face showed the confusion "wait father it here that's not possible! devon said in a stunned tone as she was dragged she sore him from a distance away it was hard to miss this man.

Devon just stood there not returning the hug it was all so unbelievable but it was all happening right infrount of her how could she deny it.  At the moment she needed it most a voice echoed through it was so fermilirer and only toke Devon a second to realise who it was "daemon" A smiled erupted over Devon's face and she stepped away from the things claiming to be her family "nice try but you are not my sister or my father they are not allowed in this place for one and one more thing Mia dose not now I exist don't make me laugh this is just a game by the demand" devon became more shore of herself the more she spoke Daemons voice had given her strength when she needed it most and she was so thankful to him for that.

The illusion shattered as soon Devon told off the illusionary version of her family causing the Demon's shade to growl as a shadowy aura erupted from his body. "I suppose I'll just have to kill you then and take control of your body the hard way." The Demonic Shade said with a malevolent voice as  the area around him became a maelstrom of darkness threatening to consume everything within it's path. " I hope you enjoyed that kiss with your boyfriend because it will be the last one you'll ever have "  The Demonic shade grew closer and closer as it pulled it's clawed hands back preparing to slash at her chest until a metallic clawed hand and a sword blocked both of it's hands. Well this is quite exciting isn't it ?" Daemon said with a smirk as he forced back the demonic shade  with a kick to it's stomach sending it a few feet away Before erecting a barrier around himself and Devon. With a playful smirk Daemon turned around and looked at Devon "I don't have much time Devon so please listening carefully I can only stay here for a few seconds and after I'm gone you'll have to do everything in your power to subdue him. This is your soul you have control over it  " Daemon said softly as he slowly began to disappear while leaning over to give her a kiss before all that remained to prove he was there in the first place was his sword the Kusanagi  on the floor at her feet.

Outside in the real world

Daemon slowly pulled his lips from Devon as he slowly fell back and coughed violently as the miasma threatened to drain his life. He had removed the barrier slightly enough to kiss Devon and place his sword in her hand. As Daemon's breathing calmed his used his own Demon to try and purge the effects of the Misama within his body before he reactivated the barrier. I hope this works.

Devon looked around as the illusion shattered as soon she had told off the illusionary version of her family as the Demon's shade growled and shadowy aura erupted from his body Devon toke a slight step back but it was not enough she had no weapon to speak of this was not going to end well. At his words Devon franticly looked around for something anything to fight with. when the demon mention the kiss being her last she growled "it will not be our last i wont let it be!" a tear ran down her face as she spoke Devon was shaking she wanted to fight back but with nothing on her she just stood there still.

Devon closed her eyes as he brought down his hand but it never came opening her eyes she gasped as she sore Daemon she was so happy he was there. She lissoned to daemon until he disappeared reaching out her hand she sighed softly she was on her own at least that's what she thought looking at the floor by her feet Devon tilted her head it was his sword the Kusanagi but how? kneeling down Devon toke the sword in her hand and stood back up swinging it a few times to get use to it, it was so light and flexible she liked it very much. looking at the demon she smirked softly "I will not let you just take my body I will fight and i will win then you will do as you are told" she hissed she was ready as she would ever be.

The Demonic shade glared savagely at Devon's new found resolve as he slowly shifted into a humanoid form. This Humanoids eyes were a piercing crimson while his hair was long and flowing with a silver sheen. Attached to the demonic Humans left hip was a katana with a purple bead attached to it. "I am sorry for holding back until now but I've got no choice I refuse to yield to a child. " The humanoid slowly unsheathed his sword as a storm of demonic hellfire slowly flowed out from his body.I am Kotetsu Shibata the son of the demon of the onyx flame Hinatoru Shibata I will hold nothing back against you and claim your body as my own using my father's blade." The demon proudly declared as he finished drawing his blade.

The humanoid held it's blade with his left hand above his right signifying that his attack pattern was more focused on left handed strikes then slowly shifted his stance until the blade of his katana is facing the sky with the tip of his blade facing the ground . "I shall end this with a single strike. " He said as he rushed at Devon covering the ground with terrible speed as a plume of demonic flames wrapped around the blade as he moved closer and closer to Devon his eyes blazing with a mixture of pride and desperation. Kotetsu knew he wasn't as powerful as his father in his current state but He swore that he would claim victory !

Devon smiled softly and sweetly her kind nature shone through in that moment she did not care that something was trying to kill her, tilting her head "so much anger inside such a small being is bound to be a weakness!" she stated a brilliant smile flowed over her lips as she brought up the sword daemon had left behind for her to use to get back to him. She would not let darkness evade her like it has this man infrount the man that was so consumed he could not see he was giving away his attack and made it easier for Devon to achieve what seemed the impossible.

smirking softly her eyes looked right into the demons eyes she could see the evil intent in his eyes but her smile never fell from her lips "I really don't care who you are to be honest, this is because you will never take my body even after I die I would make shore you will never have it!" she stated a joyful laugh flowed though her lips. Raising the sword Devon smirked lightly the speed the demon came at her was so fast but the time seemed to slow in her eyes his movements where readable and able to follow. Bringing the sword up Devon blocked the attack having to use her spear hand on the blade for strength. Crying out in pain Devon grimaced as the flame from the demon sword burnt her coursing blasted and blood dripped from her hand.

Kotetsu growled savagely as he held his blade against Devon's causing the blade to nearly split in two due to the difference of the metal used to create the two blade. Kotetsu jumped back and felt his arms bled slightly from the sheer amount of force he applied to the strike. Kotetsu grimaced at the state of his sword and concluded that another strike like that would easily destroy his blade and leave him defenseless. I must admit you quite skilled but so long as I have this blade I will not falter. He said confidently even though it was plain as day that he was outmatched in his current situation.

Kotetsu examined Devon's arm noting the blood and burn wounds that slowly appeared on her hand. He believed that he could use her wounds to his advantage. Kotetsu's father once told him that his sword was able to restore it self if it absorbed the blood of it's victim. Kotetsu's issue at the moment was acquiring blood for the blade. He knew Devon wouldn't simply offer him her blood if he was honest to her.

In Kotetsu's mind "If I can just sever one of her hands I can repair my blade I should feint a strike to the left then spin around and strike from the right "Kotetsu smirked ad rushed at Devon hoping to put his plan into action as he prepaired to swing his blade with his left hand aiming for Devon's right hand with a savage grin on his face.

Devon toke a breath lowering her weapon she cursed her hands under her breath they killed the skin blasted and broken she half wished that she could still heal but right at that moment she could not so she quickly ripped the bottom of her dress and wrapped it around her hands. Devon never once toke her eyes of the demon as he spoke she smiled softly "I am formidable because I have someone something to fight for but I also sore that sword splinter one more deadly hit and it's over" she stated lightly pointing lazerly at his sword she picked her weapon back up her face could not hide the pain she felt form her hands.

Devon toke a defensive stance and waited for the demands next move. Time seem to drag as she stood waiting only seconds past but it felt like hours then he moved shooting forward his speed was unreadable and Devon raised her sword ready to bloke the she sore it the flick of his eyes he was not aiming for her chest or head he was aiming for her arm probly an attempt to cripple her.

Devon had no choice she started to step back her wings extended with a almighty flap Devon shot in the air twisting as she left the ground she extended her foot making it collide with the demon's face Devon laughed as she looked down on at the demon she wondered if he even had wings to follow her.

Kotetsu growled savagely as blood slowly began to drip from his chin which flowed from his now broken nose as a fiery aura appears around his body . "YOU BUTTERFLY WINGED BITCH I'M GOING TO TEAR THOSE WING OFF OF YOU AND FORCE THEM DOWN YOUR THROAT !!!!!!" He said loudly as he jumped into the air and grew a pair of onyx back bat like wings. Kotetsu flew up towards Devon and glared at her as he held his blade in a reverse hand grip as he placed his left hand on the hilt of his blade as a demonic aura covered a small bead attached to it "Miasma Cloud" Kotetsu said darkly as he inhaled deeply then exhaled a cloud of Miasma at Devon hope to defile her radiant light with malice.

SceneBreak

Daemon stared at Devon's wings in the form of a small black wolf pup with silver markings on his back. He titled his head and proceeded to walk over to her and lightly paw at her wings while nibbling gently on the very tips. While Damon would never do this normally to a guild member even if she is his girlfriend but Daemon is at the moment insanely bored . One look around the room one would see a plate of sushi and sashimi, a few empty gourds of sake... okay a lot of empty gourds, several broken bokkens and beaten training posts, A least ten different scrolls on Midi's history ,and a go and chess board.

Devon smirked softly her eyes darked at his words they where probly the worst thing he could say to her "many have given me that threat lets see if you are the first to deliver!" she hissed softly her head tilted as she watched his anger get the better of him now the fight would be intresting. Devon analized his movement and smiled as she thought of counter attacks but one thing came to mind when the cloud rolled around the demon cant see her smirking softly she waved her hand and five penguins apeared made out of ice infrount of her "sir Pingu's attack!" she said carmly she shout forward aiming for the demon they can cange diresction and forllow him untill they hit so devon was not worried at that moment she brough the sword up and shot forwards head for the deamon herself she hoped the penguins would distract him enough for her to brake that sword finally making the demon not as leathel would be a grait help. Bringing her sword down at the last minuet she almost closed her eyes out of fear but forced them to stay open she may need to dodge if this dose not work.

Devon's wings felt odd she felt like something was playing with them but knew she was alown with the demon just her and him battling for her body. It was extinguishing work even if was just inside her own sole Devon could feel her body ack and draining fast of energy the battle needed to end and fast befor ir was to late and she had exhausted every fibre of her being.

Kotetsu was befuddled by the ice penguins which seemed to follow him as he darted around until he was surrounded by all sides. as the Penguins surrounded him he noticed Devon flying towards him with his only option to block her strike with his blade and hoped that it would hold together. Snap the only sound that resonated through kotetsu's mind as his father's blade was finally split in two; strangely though Kotetsu actually had a smile on his face as he slowly began to fall to the ground  as his body began to dissipate into a cloud of flames until a much smaller chibi version of him self was falling rapidly towards the ground as his blade was close behind.

As Kotetsu hit the ground a large amount of liquid shot up into the air as the shattered remains of his blade fell next to him as the largest piece which was connected to the hilt was firmly embedded into the ground next to him. Kotetsu slowly opened his eyes having passed out from the strain of his transformation he looked up at Devon and smirked. Looks like you win this round pixie just make sure to stay on your toes cause I won't ... lose ... next time " Kotetsu said sotly as he slowly closed his eyes drifting off into a peaceful sleep. Just as soon as Kotetsu closed his eyes a column of light appeared next to his body which would take Devon back into the real world. Next to the column of light was kotetsu's blade still stuck in the ground as a dark pulse slowly erupted from the blade every ten seconds.

With the crack of the sword filling the air Devon new the fight was finished and she had won but she felt sorry for the demon as his decent to the ground begane. Devon shot her arms over her face shielding from any liquid that may reach that far. Once she new it was safe Devon moved her arms and loomed down at the now chibi demon and sighed softly she landed next to him smiling softly " in this form your kind of adorable and I doubt you can harm anyone now, it you can why not join me in the real world we can keep an eye on Obe another" devon stated standing she went to the glowing blade and looked at it for a moment lifting if from its reading place she went to the demon "whatever you chose you won't defeat me with you sword like this" she stated throwing the reminds of his sword beside him and entered the glow "till we meet again" she stated lightly a wide smile roled over her lips as the vision faded away

Darkness was all Devon could see struggling to open her eyes. Fluttering slowly the office of daemon came slowly into vue. Looking around Devon noticed the state of the Room and laughed softly themselves "I take it you have not left my side and got drunk whilst I was under do you ever clean?" she asked winking playfully as she slowly rose from the spot she had laid for well she was unsure how long "how long was I out? she asked lightly looking at daemon smiling like she only would for him with love even if he did not now it yet but she figured it out inside herself she loved him and nothing was going to change her mind now.

As Devon slowly woke up she noticed Daemon who was sitting next to the seal with a lit pipe in his hand. When she looked around and teased him a bit about the state of his room he began to blush slightly as he quickly moved around to clean his room dropping his pipe in the process. A gentleman never leaves a lady who is suffering " He said with a smirk. After a minute of sporadic cleaning everything Daemon had out was either moved to a desk or back where it belonged. Daemon sat back down and took a few deep breaths to regulate his breathing before responding to Devon's next question. You've been asleep for precisely four days. " He said calmly as he looked at her happily. I'm glad your safe Devon I've missed you."

Unbeknownst to the two Kotetsu had managed to follow Devon from within her soul and was actually quite hungry and proceeded to devour the plate of sushi Daemon had made for when Devon had regained consciousness. "Man this is good stuff." Kotetsu said with glee. In the next ten seconds Kotetsu was lifted from floor by Daemon causing the plate he was holding to shatter as it hit the floor than pinned roughly against a beam with Kusanagi which Daemon had swiftly taken from Devon's lap with it's blade pressed firmly against Kotetsu's wind pipe. Who are you and how did you get here ! Daemon said with a deep growl as the child in his grip thrashed violently looking to Devon for help.

Devon smiled happily as she looked at daemon and could not help but laugh at his reaction she did not mind the state of the Room infact she thought of I as quite sweet.

Looking out the window she wondered what had happened in the world since she was asleep her stomach Rumbled as it remembered that it needs supplements to servive. Devon laughed as her hand went to her stomach attempting to marsk the sound.

Devon's head shot around in shock daemons reaction was so quick an the thing was now against the wall steering at the thing for a moment it toke her a moment to realise who it was and jumped up placing a hand on Daemons shoulder "hunny that's kotetsu that's who I was fighting in my sole I said that he can come here!" she said quickly trying to carm the situation.

Daemon looked at Kotetsu with a sharp glare as he slowly set him down while sheathing kusanagi with a calm glare. So long as he doesn't cause trouble to the others he can stay " Daemon said as he handed Kotetsu back to Devon with smile on his face as he turned towards the hallway before he slowly fell over in exhaustion strangely however he was smiling as he fell. Daemon having not eaten or slept in the past four days was nearing he end of his rope which kind of made him a tad angry at how weak he felt right now.

"You really enjoy pushing yourself too hard don't you; you little brat." Said a silver haired male with deep crimson eyes wearing black and crimson kimono who smirked as he caught Daemon before he hit the floor. The man sighed as he picked Daemon up and carried him over his shoulder and put him down on the bed then calmly turned around and looked at Devon and Kotetsu with  smirk on his face Kotetsu Make sure you behave for your master alright? " The man said t the body who nodded as the man smiled before disappearing into a cloud of embers  which flowed into Daemon's body causing him to sift slightly in his sleep.
