Ok guys and gals. I'm not heavily involved with the development team anymore or staff, but I thought this thread could at least be interesting and a way to collate everything together. This is your community after all so let's work together to make it better

Let's just get a few things off our list as these won't come in anytime soon nor are they likely to ever:

Rewards for social rping - This whilst a great idea is near impossible to regulate and make fair
Allow mods to be able to do jewels - This is impossible as it has to be done on the admin panel
Make slayers something anyone can be rather than position based - Nope.
More slayer elements/types - I think three types each with around 11 is enough plus the custom lacrima and stuff. Yeah we have enough.
Stat system - Full blown stat system so everything is numbers based? Nah. That just makes it a dick waving contest.
Insta-rank ups - Nope not happening
Change lineages so its obvious which group they are in - Whilst this sounds simple it means changing a ton of images and that is just time consuming and for the amount of effort it would take its only going to save maybe a couple of minutes...so not worth it.

    Now have I forgotten anything....hmmm
Oh yeah Dungeon System. This is being reworked and should be out soon with any luck.

    Now a few rules:
    No flaming
    No insulting other's ideas
You can offer critisicism, but make it constructive and don't turn it into an argument
    Don't be derogatory.

Now away you go. I'll relay this to the dev team.

    I'll start.

One thing i've noticed as a H rank mage is once you've got there in terms of 'challenges' there aren't many except the dungeon system(when it comes in) and to be honest that seems a bit meh.

So what i'd like is a type of job that only H ranks can do that rewards nothing but jewels or some other benefit. Maybe call them 'Impossible' or '1000 year' or something.

Could just make 100 yr jobs for H-rank mages.  Making a new job for only H-ranks would make some super long jobs with a lot higher word counts and I think people barely can keep up with the jobs we have now with their requirements.

H-ranks also can help out lower ranked members with jobs to help out a lot too with them doing things.

If we do bring in H-rank jobs I think we have them the same requirements but as you said drop exp and just give more jewel or items.

It was more of the difficulty thing. The current 100 years whilst tough are for the most part not THAT huge of a challenge for a H rank. The only daunting thing is the word count/post count and if you do it in a team relying on them.

    Anyway as another point:
    ========
    First the situation

There have been many times when I have been on a job and feel I have finished and there isn't anything really more to do, but have say five posts left. However, each of my 35 posts exceeds the world count by 100 words at least.

SO let's say the job is 40 posts with a word count of 300 per post.
I've done 35 posts and each post is at least 400 words (or on average is 400 words I think both work).

    300*40 is 12000 words.
400*35 is 14000 words A full 2000 words or 6.6 posts worth of extra content more than what i'd have if I hit the bare minimum on each post and got to the post count.

However, even though i've technically done more work I cannot just finish the job as I have not met the post count.

Even if I only exceeded the post count by 50 for each post I end up doing 12250 words, which is still above the 'overall' word count for the job.
    ==============
    A potential solution:

What if we made it as follows:
All jobs have a post count and minimum word count if you do it by that amount of posts (so as we have now)
All jobs also have a 'secondary' way of finishing in which case you just have to hit an overall word count that is let's say...10% higher than if you did it the normal way.

Let's break this down using my example.
40 posts of 300 words is the norm and this is 12000 words

    WIth this new 'system'
I could do fewer number of posts and still finish the job providing the total word count is at least 13200.

This would allow for those who write 1000 word posts not to feel like those long posts are being wasted and would prevent people having to fluff stuff at the end.

This would also allow for (on some posts) the word count to be a bit less providing you increase it somewhere else as sometimes its very hard to hit the minimum word count.

In order to prevent tiny posts we could add two other changes:
    1. A minimum 'word count' for each post
    2. A minimum 'average' word count

    E.g.
D rank - Minimum 100, average must be at least 150
C rank - Minimum 150, average must be at least 200
B rank - Minimum 200, average must be at least 250
A rank - Minimum 250, average must be at least 300
S and SS rank - Minimum 250, average must be at least 350
    10 and 100 - Minimum 300, average must be at least 400

Mandatory 'must hit this post count' are annoying and can kill the flow of an rp

A way to make jobs difficult and threatening to a character and not annoying for the player to do with the insane post-word counts that add up to light novels (Light novels minus the readability as RP posts are just rarely as enjoyable to read for reading's sake due to the self contained nature of individual posts and excess padding lots of people add to fill out word requirements).

We have the darn Sacred Altar,  dying is NOT a major threat to a -player- overall,  yet everything is all padded and bubble-wrapped as though dying is permanent and a no-no.   Even jobs that try to seem all lethal and doom-bringing come out to no more or less than lesser jobs.
The only hassle or difficulty in any job is dealing with A) Other players who constantly drop in and drop out of play/activity.  B) Yourself and personal motivation to suck down all those posts/total wordcount.

And the jewel reward still doesn't compare to those who simply donate vs someone who does lots of jobs.  The EXP is fine as it is however.  But jewels have always sort of revolved around donators or guilds with a 'paycheck' every other month for the scoreboard.

Other than that,  no invasive changes and a common-sense approach to apps and handling "Inactive" players.   Someone who is obviously still around like Shuhei,  who has maintained his character for years while others could have gone through at dozen by now or at least lots of changes to identity,  should not suddenly have to worry about losing it at the drop of a hat.
It's a RP site, not an internment camp, there is no call for rigid unbending rules (Or this air of "Authority" and "My word is law") in almost any role let alone a site like this.

I personally think there is something nice for going above and beyond on jobs. I doubt the goal is to encourage people to do just the minimum. Yet, I am new and low rank so my opinion probably doesn't matter.

I think the previous situation brought up is a interesting topic but due to being somewhere else I can't form my thoughts properly. But I do want to bring a topic on the table for discussion i'll elaborate on later.

Experience is the progression of your character a numerical stand point; I feel jobs do give out a fair enough regard however I think in corporating a system where you can appeal for XP based on actions taken in a thread. Such as your team has gotten ripped and you're the last person fighting and you beat the boss/monster in a 'clutch' way. Or a major character experience happened within a job I.E. they have a life changing event such as overcoming great physical or mental opposition.

Obiviously you'd have to request and make your appeal for it in some type of thread where a staff member would overlook it and read what they wrote/the part within the roleplay to determine if it basis for a tad bit more XP. It would also make them longer and more detailed post be able to strive to focus that quality towards an area. But yeah I can talkvmore about this later at home. have a few more ideas.

Here's an idea for lineage organization changes. Instead of having a separate thread for each group, put all lineages in one thread in alphabetical order and specify which group it's in somewhere on the lineage description. That would make finding your lineage much easier, and you can still tell which group it's in.

Because the jobs don't care about being challenging or epic or any such things,   the only difficulty curve Jobs have is both motivational and OOC- managing posts and word count, and relying on others not to drop out or yourself not to give up on handling an ungodly post-word count on your own. None have any real threat but that.

I'm not being particularly negative here.  It's more just a statement.

Before I get into this guys, please do not swarm me with more ideas. We are working on things which most of the time are ideas you have posted up already but with the recent situations with staff we have been put into situations where we are slowed down in what we can do. Please be patient.

This is hard to implement because it can easily become something looking like favoritism on the staff member's part who is judging this. I have another idea for something that does not work on favoritism but can possibly award more exp for people who go above what is needed to complete a job.

Extra exp is something that has always been iffy though because there are a good amount of ways to getting extra exp with jobs that give double exp, lacrima milk(for those who have saved up to get it), team/guild bonus or even participating in events which usually have been pretty generous with what they give for exp.

We will look into ideas for this but if it does not happen I'm sorry.

Very possible to do here. Will see about trying to get it done.

Word count with a post requirement was a thing because we are an RP site and not a site that focuses strictly on exp gaining. We want you to RP stories out and that is what makes a job hard, the fact of having to stretch it out.

With that being said though I have worked with Zack and come up with an optional way to do jobs that makes you able to do them strictly focused on word count. It should be up soon as an option for everyone to use.
