Post by Xazinay 28th March 2016, 3:28 am

    Name: Xazinay Arxiu
    Gender: Female
Age: Forgotten, appears in her teens to twenties
    Birthday: 01/01
    Sexuality: Omnisexual
Special Characteristics: Occasionally sports horns and odd, pseudo-wing like appendages that can grow into proper, leathery wings.

    Personality:
At first glance Xazinay comes across as an apathetic and spacey individual, her voice often sounding as far away as her thoughts. Sometimes her speech leads one to believe she's disconnected from life and wants to act more as an observer rather than a participant - even more so if she happens to start up a commentary under her breath or even aloud. At such times opinions might dive into the "she's weird/strange" spectrum, eccentric if she turned out to be rich. Her range of outward emotion comes across as limited too, more subdued and even toned despite not always being polite as she delivers harsh commentary in the same tone as she might inform one of the weather or time. Whether she likes riling people up or simply fails to realize she's doing such remains in debate. Emotions can somewhat be displayed, but not on a grand scale in this state. Notably she’s more likely to speak as if narrating her life or muttering an observation aloud in her deadpan state leading to the occasional odd look or scowl.

More shocking to anybody who spends enough time around the woman are the spastic moments of vivaciousness. The triggers remain varied as they're merely things that catch her attention as the inventions and creations of humans seem to capture her interest as a whole while she's not always fond of the creatures themselves. Her expression might light up at the mere pattern on a teacup in her hand to the bindings of a particularly old book to the craftsmanship in a piece of jewelry or weapon. Maybe she particularly likes someone scarf, hat, pet - sometimes referring to children in a similar manner - and sometimes...she simply seems to "come alive" again from whatever stupor grips her. It may as well be a roll of some deity's dice that controls her moments as Xazinay won't acknowledge the sudden shift in personality from calm to ecstatic.

Xazinay holds no issue in fighting, remaining either passive or in her heightened state of expression as she conducts her business. Built less for power struggles Xazinay prefers to dart about the battlefield, and prefers if there's another, more tantalizing target for people to focus on so she can make more precise attacks. Without a target it becomes more of a dance for her, staying away from blows while dealing them herself and as such leads Xazi to protect her legs more than her arms. If there are meat shields in the area she's not afraid to use them, not finding a lot of importance in human life outside of what they create, but given their ability to procreate and prosper she views them not entirely unlike cattle - just probably less tasty - and thus replaceable. If there's one that's somehow gained her attachment she'll be prone to protecting them, but it's been a few centuries since the last. The only thing that truly gets a reaction of anger or desperation out of her are those who wish to steal from the "library" she protects or seek to destroy it, tasked with this duty long ago, leading her to fight more viciously and relentlessly.

Leadership isn't a role many would want for the woman as she's the sort who will sacrifice units for the sake of the goal. Since people can "just make another one" in her eyes, whatever they're striving for is probably more important and more so if people are willing to stake their lives for it anyways. If people aren't willing to follow her instruction...well, no matter. It's not a role she generally strives for however without being asked, so people are somewhat safe. As a unit she doesn't follow instructions strictly unless the person is an "Ancient" - though she refuses to explain what this might entail or what qualifications are involved - the girl interpreting as she pleases or, if the whim strikes, wandering off completely. If it doesn't strike her as particularly interesting or important why stick around? No reason to waste one of her lives on it.

    • ~"By the Ancients! Where to begin?!"~

Book/Scroll Collections: The smell, the feel, the knowledge all collected into one fantabulous place! How she adores them! And by the time she finally leaves the place might be light a few pieces, but surely they won't miss them! After all her library is most important library!

    • ~”Oh my, what a cute pattern! I don’t think I have one like this…yet!”~

Dishware: Perhaps an odd thing to enjoy, Xazinay’s enjoys many human creations yet nothing seems quite comparable to her enjoyment of exquisite dishes. It’s gotten to the point that portions of the Grand Library are decorated with plates sporting pictures or lovely patterns – sometimes sets and sometimes standalone pieces. If the Ancients demanded she remove or destroy them she would, but she damn sure wouldn’t enjoy it. Some of them are as whimsically gained as the knowledge she adds to the library.

    • ~”I can’t explain why…but I suppose not everything can be explained. They’re simply…enjoyable.”~

Picture Books: Strange as it may be Xazinay does separate simple picture books from the more grand collections of information (and fiction as well, though to a lesser degree). There’s a very basic pleasure to picture books in enjoying the art in them with the plain stories to them – always ending so happily too if there’s even a bit of conflict to be had. She does enjoy books of art as well, but picture books – especially hardcover – doubles as a good thing to smack simpletons and idiots upside the head with though she’ll make do with rolling up soft cover ones if they’re large enough.

    Dislikes:

    • ~"Most spend their time foolishly, I don't see why they decide to worry about it when its too late..."~

Time/Dates: More those who become overly and primarily concerned with time as she rather dislikes how antsy they can get. If they are going to be late for a very important date then they should've planned better, though the obsession people seem to hold over how much time they have as a whole annoys her. Being asked what the date is today is more of a pet peeve.

    • ~”What and who I am matters little: I simply am.”~

Personal Questions: Beyond her name Xazinay’s not too keen about answering questions about herself. When it especially starts sounding like a questionnaire then she gets peeved, answering little details tedious to her.

    • ~”Heroes are merely a fabrication made to comfort young ones. The fact that adults have fooled themselves is sad really…”~

Egos/Heroes: For her it’s a broader spectrum than simply someone who boasts, though overly loud and obnoxious do grate on her nerves. It’s not only those who proclaim their greatness, but those who deign themselves as “heroes” and similar things. To Xazinay heroes are merely fiction, a fantasy created to uplift spirits and not a reality. Then again for someone like her, the fact that they can’t save “everyone” means they’ve ultimately failed despite whatever feats they accomplished. Then again she might be the type to view a glass half empty more than half full.

    Motivations:

    • ~"Well it's been a while...I hope they're okay. I hope they like how well I've kept the library!"~

The Ancients: The only "parents" she's ever known Xazinay hasn't seen them in a fair bit of time. It's a little concerning, sort of like when a parent says "Hey I'll be back in a few hours" and then fails to return. It's been quite a few centuries at this point and she's starting to wonder if something's happened, though they do have a tendency to get a bit carried away with reincarnation or so she vaguely remembers so...it might just be a matter of finding them.

    • ~”They can print a new copy, this one shall serve a greater purpose.”~

The Grand Library: The simple name in human languages, her masters tasked the woman with guarding it and the knowledge locked away. At the same time it’s expected she adds to it, leading to Xazinay’s bouts of kleptomania as far as books, scrolls, family albums, and comics are concerned. Sometimes even simple newsletters or postings might vanish to end up in some “ye old filing cabinet” or binder. Those who seek to take or destroy from it are classified as enemies.

    • ~”Natural or not it’s a very interesting process, though admittedly not everyone has the time to observe it in it’s full, grand state…though I suppose one would have to be immortal. Something that doesn’t continue to evolve is probably, ultimately…worthless.”~

Evolution: The concept as a whole intrigues her, Xazinay fascinated by where creatures came from and how they might progress down the road, quite fond of documenting things herself. This doesn’t stop at natural occurrences however, just as happy to observe something that’s been altered somehow by other means, be it by human whims, godly whims, demonic whims, or who knows by what other means. Should the creature die she becomes keen on dissecting the thing and further understanding the alterations, where it went right and where it went wrong, and how it might be improved next time. As an altered person herself, she holds little issue seeing such things done to other people, though it’s possible she’d help some people out of the situation purely out of bias if they didn’t wish for the procedure.

    Fears:

    • ~"I may not understand it yet, but there must be a reason for everything. If it's not, if it's all truly pointless...then I'll bathe the world in red."~

Meaningless: A fear she refuses to acknowledge aloud as doing so would make it all the more real, Xazinay fears the pointlessness in anything she does as well as life as a whole. If there is no meaning in one's suffering, then the world may as well become lost to madness and death.

    • ~”Nothing else matters but their safety. May their enemies see harm rather than victory.”~

The Ancients: Not all they’ve done has been pleasant, and so Xazinay fears their wrath should she fail them one way or another. However more than their wrath she fears for their safety since it’s been longer than usual since any of them returned “home.” The fact they may have forgotten or abandoned her is yet another subset of her overall fear of and for them.

    • ~”Be careful! I heard about snakes that survive in toilet pipes and will rise up to suck the soul from you when you poop! …What do you mean that’s not real?”~

Imaginary Monsters: An odd thing to fear and yet a reason she sometimes has issues with the “Horror” sections in bookstores and libraries, Xazinay suffers from bouts of gullibility. Myths and legends, while wonderful to collect, sometimes get mistaken for reality for her and lead the woman to claiming one should be careful because of one fictional character/monster or another. They may range from the truly horrifying to the very questionable and silly, but she’s absurdly earnest in warning people about them. Why she believes in them when she’s capable of noting other things and readings as works of fiction remains a mystery…perhaps she simply wants to believe?

    General Appearance

    Height:5'4"
    Weight: 120lbs
    Hair: Black
    Eyes: Green
    Skin Tone: Pale
    Appearance:

Thin and lithe, Xazinay is built more for speed than for power, requiring weapons and tools to damage foes unlike boxers and grapplers. She excels most with flexibility as she's sometimes prone to performing odd stretches when bored despite her bookish looks. Regardless of how much time she spends in the sunlight a tan appears impossible to achieve, the girl having tried a time or few and simply given it up for naught. Usually adorning dark colored clothing, Xazinay generally veers towards dresses of varying length, often sporting shorts if not some length of leggings beneath for personal comfort since no pants leaves her feeling too naked. Comfort is key in her books, though can be hard to achieve while sticking to the darker hue spectrum of clothing in warmer climates admittedly, but there are some things she refuses to compromise on and wearing copious amounts of white or pastels is one of them. Sometimes she can be caught wearing a sheer veil over her head and a pair of glasses, but they tend to come and go - Xazi refuses to admit whether or not she actually requires the glasses for anything.

Vivid green eyes are most likely to be noticed first as long as her horns are hidden, Xazinay blaming her pale skin for creating the illusion of a glow alongside her dark hair. One moment they might appear dead and the next could be vividly alive with the odd variation of her emotions - what seems to actually cause the glow despite her denial. For the most part her hair is kept short in the back with longer hair framing her face, reaching a little past her bust and bangs hiding her forehead.

Body twisted by an unknown race, they at least left the capability to hide them as she sees fit. The wings bear two forms, sometimes appearing little more than a bone structure, but capable of transforming into a complete pair of leathery wings that reach up to ten feet in total wing span and permit her flight. This is easily her favorite of the two since it allows the woman the ability to reach high shelves easily enough - perfect for the impossible labyrinth of a library she protects. However she's yet to discern any purpose for the odd, spine-like pair of horns she can adorn. While she's not quite sure what they did to her or made her, she knows its not demonic in nature as it doesn't match their usual presence signatures according to her research.

"I suppose...even they're prone to reasoning 'it seemed cool at the time...'"
